Georgie Matthew-Smith was a girl of many talents. Over the years she had taken upon doing things like martial arts, absolutely loving kickboxing, karate and taekwondo. But she also loved making videos. So at the age of 15 she made a YouTube channel.
The channel didn’t have a whole lot of subscribers, but she didn’t really care about that. It was all in good fun, and to let her practise editing and such. One thing that she was used to editing out was when one of her siblings would come in. They had this brilliant timing of showing up in the midst of filming.
Now at the age of 18, she went through her old footage that was unedited whilst hearing the noise from the barn all the way to her room. She didn’t mind, really. She loved Carlos, and she was happy that he made her brother happy.
So, closing her computer for just a moment, she went down to the barn to see if everything was still okay. Looking in she noticed an extremely familiar video, and that’s when something hit her.
“No way,” She mumbled to herself before running back to her room and opening up her computer. Scrolling through video after video, until she found it. She opened the video file and watched it as she smirked. This was a perfect gift for Carlos from her.
A few hours later, she walked back down to the barn and sneaked in. Seb, now in the same suit from Homecoming, was dancing with the birthday boy that he proudly called his boyfriend. The girl smiled, before she focused on the task at hand.
She quickly talked to Mr. Mazzara before going onto the stage.
“Hey Wildcats! I’m Georgie, Seb’s big sister.” She started off her little speech. Seb looked at her, slightly terrified of what she had planned.
“Firstly, I’d like to say happy birthday Carlos! Thank you for being so amazing and treating my baby brother so kindly. Can’t wait to call you my brother-in-law in the future,” She teased, making both Seb and Carlos blush brightly.
“I actually have a little birthday gift of sorts, for you!” She said with a smirk. Carlos looked curiously at her, whilst Seb was getting more and more terrified by the second.
“So, I was checking into the barn earlier and I noticed a video, and my first thought was ‘Hm, that video seems familiar…’ and then something hit me. So, happy birthday! I hope you like this little surprise!” She finished off before jumping off stage and they got the screen down before hitting play.
On screen they were first met by 15 year old Georgie sitting at her desk in the middle of talking about something.
“So, then-” But she was interrupted by someone knocking on the door. Seb knew right away who that would be. In that moment he wished more than anything for the ground to swallow him up.
“Who is it?” The girl yelled from her chair.
“It’s Seb!” They heard a child-Seb voice come through the door. Carlos smiled brightly at the 15 year old Seb beside him.
“Come in, Sebby,” She sighed on screen, and Carlos turned back just in time to see a little blonde head stick through Georgie’s door. Everyone awed at how cute 12 year old Seb was.
“Can I show you something?” Little Seb asked nervously, holding his phone tightly.
“Sure, bud!” Young Georgie said reassuringly, pushing her chair away from the desk. Little Seb walked up to her.
“S-so, I found this video on Instagram… and I really like it. Like, a lot.” He tried to explain.
“Okay?” His older sister looked at him confused. Before they got to it, Carlos gave a soft gasp knowing what he was about to see.
Little Seb showed young Georgie the screen before hitting play, then everyone heard the familiar voice of 12-to-be-13 year old Carlos. And everyone notices the way 12-year-old Seb looks at the screen in front of him. The wonder in his eyes, the soft smile and the tiny giggles coming from his mouth. 12-year-old Seb wasn’t just inspired by almost 13 year old Carlos. He had a crush on him.
15 year old Seb was tomato red by this point, whilst 16 year old Carlos was having the best time knowing that this beautiful boy had a crush on him for so long… and Carlos had actually thought this kind soul would stand him up at Homecoming just months earlier.
Once the 12 and 15 year old on screen had finished watching the video, the eldest looked at her younger brother.
“Sebby, is there something you want to tell me?” She asked softly. The little kid looked even more nervous now.
“I… I think I might be gay? O-or I don’t know… I just…” He tries to explain, fumbling over his words.
“You just like him?” The Georgie on screen gave her brother a soft smile as he nodded. Carlos couldn’t stop smiling.
“That’s okay Sebby. And hey, maybe you’ll be lucky enough to date him in the future?” She teased, making her older self yell,
“AND I WAS RIGHT!” Older Seb blushed brighter and brighter alongside his younger self, but he looked at his boyfriend who was looking so happy. The fact that little Seb already had a crush on him did that.
When the video is stopped the first thing Carlos does is pull his boyfriend into a much bigger kiss than before.
“Young you was adorable, your current self is the most amazing person in my life and I love you more than anyone and anything,” Carlos whispered against his lips. Seb’s eyes widened for a moment before he pulled Carlos in closer.
“I love you too,” He whispered back before kissing his boyfriend.
The people around them went back to dancing or eating, letting the young people have a moment for themselves. In the meantime Georgie took a quick picture of them before getting her computer.
Before she could leave though, Carlos stopped her. He had taken a little break from making out with his boyfriend.
“Thank you, that is actually one of my favourite things I’ve ever gotten,” He said genuinely before he hugged her, making Georgie smile.
“I’ll send you a copy of it so you can watch it whenever you want. And I meant it. I can’t wait to call you my brother-in-law, Carlos. You’re an amazing guy, and Seb is lucky to have you.” She said genuinely.
“T-thanks,” Carlos said a bit in shock before hugging her again.
“Okay, I’m gonna let you go and make out with my brother again, and enjoy your quinceañero. I need to go to bed as I’ll be taking over Seb’s chores tomorrow,” She laughed, and Carlos couldn't help but laugh with her.
“I’ll make sure it will be worth it,”
With that they said their goodnights, and Carlos went back to his boyfriend. Giving him a proper thank you for all the things he’s done for him the past few days (and well, ever since they were 12-13 years old).
