Summary
The Court of Shadows discovered Madoc was planning a coup. Dain survives. Cardan agrees to crown his brother on three condition, one of which is that the new king grants Jude safety, as well as a high place in his court. However, Dain’s mercy significantly differs from what Cardan asked for.
Jude feels a bit uneasy after being officially appointed king’s consort, even if it’s just a clever artifice that justify her presence in the Elfhame palace and enables the mortal to spy on the upper crust of faerie society. Her new tasks, however, start to creep Jude out. Terrified Cardan decides to save his love for trouble he drew her into. Will he succeed? -
