Work Text:
“Oh my god!” Magnus cried as he blocked a jab from Alex. “ Could you perhaps not do that as we try to negotiate!”
Alex, smirking as she threw her dagger in the air and caught it again, simply shrugged. “Sorry, force of habit when coming face to face with you.”
“Get to your point.”
Alex leaned backwards, resting her arms behind her back nonchalantly. “Baby, you’re the one who wanted to negotiate, if anything- I should be asking you that.”
“ I told you to stop calling me that,” Magnus gritted out, pushing his hand through his hair.
“Oh but Baby, I can't help it,” Alex smirked as she got up, walking slowly towards Magnus who braced himself, unaware that she was cornering him. “You’re so naive- the nickname suits you.”
Magnus held his weapon tightly, preparing to use it against the villainess. She was dressed in an elegant dress that stuck to her skin- the colour complemented the tan and her short- now pink- hair. Her eyes were cat like, her feline eyeliner highlighting her cheekbones and her lips were painted a bold red.
As her eyes scanned his clothes, he could feel his face burning. The event was formal so it was of course expected that he was wearing a tuxedo- unlike Alex, he was not put together so well. The top of his shirt was unbuttoned and his hand was bandaged due to the stab wound on his hand.
Alex’s eyes fell to the exposed muscle at the top of Magnus’s shirt and he could only turn his head away to hide the shame rising to the tip of his ears.
“Have a problem, Baby? You seem to be underdressed,” her voice rang out like honey, the flirtatious undertone not missed by Magnus. However, this time, the words did not affect him as much.
“Well, if you hadn’t stabbed my hand earlier, I wouldn’t be exposed like this, would I?” Magnus shot back, annoyed that she knew how to press his buttons so easily.
Earlier
“Magnus dear, could you photocopy the notes from the meeting?” Alex asked, her voice seemingly innocent to anyone but Magnus.
Irritated, Magnus snorted. “ I’m not your assistant, do it yourself, Alex.”
Magnus returned to typing away at his computer until he noticed that his typing was the only sound in the office. Slowly, he raised his head to find the eyes of the entire office all glued to his cubby. And despite the fact that he was not even looking at Alex, he was completely aware of the expression that would be on her face.
Magnus pushed the chair and sighed heavily, his head dropping down momentarily with his blonde hair curtaining his face and angered expression. However, as soon as he flipped his head back up to face his coworkers, a smile graced his lips. “ You know what, I’ve almost finished. I’ll get them straight away Alex.”
As he entered the photocopy room, he heard the slam of the door and immediately, he knew what was up.
Once again, Alex was going to try and kill him. He only had his poison dart pen with him and he could almost guarantee that Alex had a knife or two up her sleeves- quite literally
The loud photocopier began its process, beeping and hissing as it printed paper. Alex’s cat-like steps were barely even heard over the noise and therefore Magnus was surprised when it took her longer than expected to reach him and pull her knife across his throat.
“Huh, Alex- aren’t you gonna try and kill me?” Magnus asked as he turned around. But to his great surprise- Alex wasn’t there. His panic suddenly grew as he whipped around trying to find his arch nemesis. Where could she have gone in such a confined space?
The remainder of the photocopying experience was blatant paranoia as Magnus continuously drew out his pen at every small sound. He carried the stack of papers to Alex’s office and without knocking - for he truly didn't care nor did he expect her to be there- entered the office.
“Oh baby, you’re here!”
Magnus paused, his mouth agape. “ When did you get here?”
Alex smiled, her lips curling upwards. “ I was here the entire time. I simply thought it would be fun to mess with you so I decided to push the door a bit.”
He put the papers down on the desk in front of her and seeing her leisurely sitting in his chair, all while mocking him made him act on instinct. He quickly put her into a chokehold and held his pen to her neck.
“This is a poison dart pen, one click and your bloodstream will be infected,” He hissed into her ear. But she was all but scared. Instead her hand reached beneath her desk and the next thing Magnus knew was that he heard the click of a gun underneath his chin. The cold metal tickled his freshly shaven chin and he had to resist a shiver as he could swear that he felt a small breeze come out of the gun.
Immediately, he punched away the weapon, his breath heaving and furious. “ We agreed on no guns!”
“Did we?” Alex asked innocently.” I don’t remember- Now where did your little toy pen go?”
Magnus’s eyes widened as he dropped to his knees, scrambling for the pen- exactly as Alex desired. She pulled out her knife, tipped in poison, and-
“-Fuck!”
Alex watched as Magnus gasped at the burning sensation from the stab wound in his hand. She watched as he gasped and bit open a capsule that seemed to have been hidden away in his mouth.
“You hid an antidote to the poison on my knife ahead of time,” She sighed. “Am I really getting so predictable, baby?”
Magnus could only stifle a groan as he slipped his pen back into his pocket and cradled his bleeding hand. The antidote almost got stuck in his throat but he managed to swallow it as he ripped off his blazer and gently wrapped around his bleeding hand so as to not bring attention to it.
He simply hissed at a gleaming Alex as he left her office.
Now
Alex’s eyes met Magnus’s as she stood directly behind him, their bodies almost pressing against each other. Despite Magnus being taller and stronger than her, it was clear and easy to say that it was Alex with the power. He could see her reflection in the mirror in front of him as he attempted to button up his remaining buttons.
But alas! Perhaps it was a fairy, or fate or cupid- but his fingers could not curl up- not with the gaping injury to the middle of his hand that was now bandaged but still afresh.
“Give me your hand,” Alex ordered, holding hers out. Magnus, gullible and innocent as he was, slipped his injured hand into the palm of his arch nemesis only to feel life being squeezed out of it.
Blood poured out of the wounded as Magnus yelped, trying to draw back his hand- only to find that Alex had it gripped firmly in her grasp.
“Stop being a baby.”
He watched as she brought his hand to her lips- gently kissing the pads of his fingers and working her way to the gashing wound presented in the middle of his hand.
The gesture made his flinch as he remembered something a few days ago.
A few days ago.
“You realise that we’re in the corridor and anyone could see us? Trying to kill me here would be ridiculous- besides, don’t you have more super evil villain plans to carry out right now?” Magnus asked.
Alex laughed as she grabbed Magnus by the collar and the arm and flipped him so his back was pressed against the wall and her arm was pressing into his trachea.
Magnus slipped a dagger out of the wristband hidden away in his sleeve and quickly brought it- ready for a quick attack only for Alex to quickly pin his wrist to the wall. Her face was close- too close as she whispered.
“Baby, you’re going easy on me. I may be older than you, but I can assure you,” her voice paused as she somehow managed to get so close, her breath felt like a summer breeze on Magnus’s lips, “ I’m not too old for this.”
Magnus struggled as he tried to speak without gasping for air with Alex’s body against his own. “It’s a good thing I wasn't going easy on you then.”
Their lips were practically brushing as Alex mummurd. “ You weren’t? I have to say, I’m dissapointed baby- I expected more from you.”
“Like what?” Magnus dared to ask.
Alex, not answering the question, pressed her lips against his. Magnus- despite being in such close proximity to her- never expected that their lips would be interlocking. He froze, not knowing what to do as Alex worked her lips against his- pushing and gently pulling at his, urging him to kiss back.
He couldn’t lie that the sensation was pleasant and that he had fantasised about kissing Alex at some point. His lips slowly pushed back against Alex's, his eyes fluttering shut. But, as suddenly as Alex kissed him, he realised what he was doing- He was kissing his arch nemesis, a supervillain, in the corridors of his work office where anyone could see them!
Panicking, he accidentally bit down on her lip before pushing her away, wiping at his lips before crying out at her. “ What the hell do you think you’re doing! Why- why did you kiss me!”
Alex, wiping at the blood from the inside of her lips, only smiled smugly. “Because.”
Frustrated that he enjoyed the kiss and that Alex was still mocking him, he marched off.
Now
Her kisses against his bleeding hand were soft. Her lips were warm as they travelled across his palm with her lips reaching the blood as he felt her tongue soothing the wound. He hissed as he saw her fingers stayed in his blood; the colour of her lipstick and the blood against his lips indistinguishable against each other.
She reached up towards his chest, pulling each button of his shirt together, allowing her taloned fingers to dig slightly into the flesh of his chest before buttoning up the shirt. She left the last button of his shirt open, appreciating the look it gave him- especially with his hair styled.
“Thanks…” Magnus managed to breathe out shakily. Alex backs away, elegantly wiping away some blood from the corner of her lips.
She stood back, hands on her hips- her body radiating confidence and maliciousness itself.
“Tick tock, baby- you don't have much time,” She smiled grimly as she threw her throwing knife in the air again before throwing it so it nicked his face ever so slightly before landing in the wall with a light thud. She produced a dagger into her hand- from where? Magnus didn’t even know.
Her voice was sultry. “Now, tell me what you wanted to negotiate.”
