Heroes Never Die; It’s Hero Time, Anytime

Chapter 58: Halloween OVA 2024

Notes:

*Happy Halloween everyone! I hope it's a terrifying time! Well not in that way just you know what I mean. Anyway, here's my annual Halloween Special featuring our favorite MHA and Ben 10 elements!

*Somethings to note…this special is NOT cannon. Or at least it could be considered a soft cannon. Either way, it's silly fun and is not meant to be taken seriously. Some of the characters act a little OOC but it's all for the sake of silly fun.

*Finally, this OVA is based on a certain Disney Afternoon's Halloween episode. More on which one later.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

"This is it."

With delight filling his chest, he pushes up his glasses causing them to shine like spotlights.

"One night."

She slips her Earphone Jacks through the wig of rubber snakes, and with a brush she straightens her scaly hairpiece.

"Every house in town"

He pats down his Hawaiian shirt before fixing the horns in his blonde and partly statically charged hair.

"And we'll score enough to last us all year." And with a flourish he plucks a color coded and systematically gridded map of the neighborhood right off his desk. "Suit up!" Tenya Iida shouts from behind the Class A podium.

"YEAAAH!" His classmates roar in celebration after having just dawned their own Halloween Costumes!

It's a whole classroom of freaks, monsters, and the adorably wholesome. You have Mezo Shoji dressed as a tarantula, which was pretty easy considering his extra limbs. To Hanta Sero being a little more creative with his costume as a zombie detective. Or you can be as horribly sweet like Koji Koda who's dressed as a Pokémon Trainer and has several PokéPlushes strapped to his person. He even dyed his bunny yellow and gave it a pair of red circular blushes.

"Wonderful! Simply wonderful! Haha!" Iida himself is dressed as Dr. Frankenstein's monster dawning a purple striped shirt that's partly ripped at the trim and a big old tattered jacket to go along with it. His jeans, a loan from Kirishima, are worn and ripped at the knees. Even the combat boots are Kirishima's too. But to pull the whole look together he's got a pair of giant screws on his head. With Mina's knack for makeup, she was able to slap some face paint of green and stitches to "pull" the look together onto him. She even somehow convinced him to let her paint his nails black while she was at it.

"Now listen up everyone!" Franken-Iida slaps his hand onto the whiteboard with such force it shakes.

On the board Iida has written out 5 different "teams" for their class starting with his own group:

Team A: Tenya Iida, Denki Kaminari, Kyoka Jiro, and Hitoshi Shinso.

Team B: Izuku Midoriya, Ochaco Uraraka, Toru Hagakure, and Fumikage Tokoyami.

Team C: Katsuki Bakugou, Eijiro Kirishima, Shoto Todoroki, and Mina Ashido.

Team D: Hanta Sero, Minoru Mineta, Yuga Aoyama, and Masahiro Ojiro.

Team E: Momo Yaoyorozu, Rikido Sato, Mezo Shoji, Tsuyu Asui, and Koji Koda.

"These are our randomly assigned teams. I hope you will all get along and show great teamwork during this outing!"

"Outing? Call it what it is, Class Rep." Mineta usually scumminess is gone, replaced with a serious and outright ominous aura. "This is war."

Immediately the tension in the classroom jumbos tenfold and everyone expressions match that of Mineta's. Even Iida isn't immune. After all they've had this composition planned for months.

"This is a competition to find out who exactly can get the most treats? Who has the best tricks? Who is the scariest? The best of the best. To find out exactly who is…-"

Immediately the entire class rocket out of their seats as they all cry out in unison. "THE TERRIFYING MASTERS OF HALLOWEEN!"

What's terrifying is the name but considering it's an amalgamation of what 21 teenagers chaotically threw together of course it would be this bad. But it's clear that all that matters here are the bragging rights that they'll be able to hold over their peers for months, maybe years, to come. Well that and the fact that the winning team gets 25% OF EVERYONE ELSE'S CANDY HAUL!

Not needing to be told twice they all scatter into their squads and prepare for battle. Bakugou's already barking orders at his team while Mineta's complaining that there's a severe lack of girls on his team. Meanwhile Izuku, Ochaco, and Hagakure are busy looking for their missing fourth member.

"Woo-oo!" Denki Kaminari cheers, jumping to the front of the class and nearly plowing into Iida as he does. "I love Halloween! Hahaha!"

He's certainly excited despite his attire saying other ways since his costume screams relaxation considering it's nothing but a pair of boardshorts and a blue Hawaiian shirt. The only thing Halloween-like about it is the pair of red devil horns in his hair.

"Yes!" agrees Franken-Iida "The pageantry! The mischievous yet harmless pranks, and of course, the trick-or-treating!" Franken-Iida grins as he takes in everyone's fantastic costumes. "Yep, this will be the best Halloween ever!"

"Y-yes! I d-declare it so! So says me! M-Medusa the Gorgon of Sarpedon!" Kyoka Jiro declares while using her Earphone Jacks to puppeteer the fake snakes in her wig. Despite her declaration she is actually totally embarrassed, but Mina double-dog dared her and she couldn't say no to that! Even if the dark stola she's wearing is a little too breezy.

"But for real Halloween is so punk rock. And I don't just mean the candy and costumes. But it's real hardcore and dates back all the way to at least to the 17th century."

Franken-Iida and Kaminari stare at her in confusion.

"The roots of Halloween." She tries to clarify. "A day to disguise yourself to trick the demons or appease them with sweet treat offerings. A celebration of fear and conquering that fear!"

They still don't get it but Kaminari can at least explain his costume. "I'm a devil on vacation."

He and Franken-Iida fist bump.

Medusa-Jiro frowns in annoyance. "You're supposed to blend in with the monsters by wearing scary costumes."

"There's nothing scary about tonight." This snide remark sends an ominous shiver down the trio's spines. But Hitoshi Shinso can have that effect on people especially when he's feeling particularly sarcastic.

"Shinso?!" Franken-Iida chides. "What are you supposed to be?! You should have been dressed an hour ago!"

But as of now he's only got a pair of black sweatpants on along with a black long-sleeved shirt.

"Don't worry I'm just missing the final piece." Grabbing his capture scarf from his costume's storage case he pulls out his Capture Scarf and flings it around his shoulders.

Without his support item, he drops his voice to a lower octave as he does his best imitation of their homeroom teacher. "Alright class… Today we're gonna learn how to make any random spot into a comfortable resting place… Fail and you're expelled."

"You are a lazy customer. And also, THAT IS EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL!" Franken-Iida all but shouts at the top of his lungs. "Just what would Mr. Aizawa say if he heard you?!"

"He'd say shut it." A horrid figure of darkness and red eyes flash behind the Class Rep. with a voice so tired and irate that'll haunt their nightmares forever. "Now leave. Class was dismissed."

"AAAAAHHHHH!"

In the house, in the house~
A haunted House of Mystery sits atop the hill as bats swarm and cascade to the moon.

This is gonna be a different year, different months

Constant is fright night

Candy in the bag yeah

Skip the ones I don't like~

Lighting strikes and bats screech. The wind howls across fields of Jack-O-Lanterns that are all carved out in ways to resemble the Omnitrix aliens.

More tricks than treats, but what can you do~?

Hocus-pocus on repeat, put a spell on you~

The Alien-O-Lanterns light up with various colors bouncing between them from white, blue, red, green, orange, purple, magenta, yellow, and pink.

Light up the jack-o'-lanterns

Send to the group chat

Costume is so clean

You already knew that~

The Alien-O-Lanterns sprout out of the ground, their roots and bodies matching their OG counterparts as thunder booms in the background.

The change is kinda crazy, but it's not a curse

We make the most, like a ghost, on the 31st~

As a murder of crows swoop in from overhead and a neon glowing Ghostfreak dives before the camera.

Music loud, let's dance in the moonlight~

The screen blinks from orange to black. Before all of the Omnitrix aliens' silhouettes appear in equal rows.

In the house, in the house, this is our night~

As each alien silhouette simultaneously dances the Spooky Scary Skeleton Dance.

Candles lit, fresh fit, feelin' so right~

Candle flames burn over their hearts.

In the house, in the house, this is our night~

As each alien silhouette simultaneously dances the Spooky Scary Skeleton Dance.

(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)

Ghostly skeletal hands wave across the screen.

In the house, in the house, this is our night (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)

As each alien silhouette simultaneously dances the Spooky Scary Skeleton Dance.

(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)

The orange background transitions from orange to green and back repeatedly.

As each alien silhouette simultaneously dances the Spooky Scary Skeleton Dance.

Party's on, throw the phone

We don't really care~

Rattle dances the Thriller across the screen.

Kettle corn, candy corn

We don't gotta share~

Frankenstrike mixes the Robot with a Jog in Place, each step syncing with the beat.

Forget the costume store, wealthy ain't buying it

Let's skip the mummy fit, toilet paper's limited~

Snare-Oh performs an Egyptian Tanoura dance with his bandages flourishing.

Bobbing for apples, just for one

Prank call your cousin just for fun~

Blitzwolfer shakes and bobs, dancing with the beat before howling into the air.

Stayin' inside, we let it out

And we gonna party in the house~

Whampire is grooving, spinning and gliding like a groovy vampire should.

Music loud, let's dance in the moonlight~

The screen blinks from orange to black. Before all of the Omnitrix aliens' silhouettes appear in equal rows.

This Halloween ain't stopping~

A grotesque grin of crooked glowing teeth flashes before the screen.

I'm a dance like no one's watching~

As five figures dash away in fear to the right.

This Halloween ain't stopping~

The grotesque glowing grin begins to cackle before descending down.

I'm a dance like no one's watching~

Before chomping down on the frightened figures.

"Trick or treat~!" Trick-or-treaters are out and about, smiling with glee and giggling to their heart's content as they run from house to house in this perfectly safe and humble suburban neighborhood.

This suburb is just exuding with Halloween spirit with Jack-O-Lanterns decorating every home, to cobwebs, inflatables, and more grotesque decorations adorning every single lawn. From the cheesiest of things like gravestones that light up to fake zombies stuck in the ground.

And the kids, the trick-or-treaters are showing as much spirit although gone are the monster inspired costumes for instead the kids wear different versions of their favorite pro heroes. There's a hundred All Mights running around, with Endeavor costumes coming up second, some Hawks and Best Jeanists are there too, with a few kids with a little more creativity are going as Fatgum, Mt. Lady, Gang Orca, and even one group has coordinated their costumes to match the Wild Wild Pussy Cats. But the scariest individual here has to be the exhausted homeroom teacher of Class 1-A himself. "Alright, class, listen up." Aizawa starts while wishing he had snagged another cup of coffee. "Look, the only reason I'm here is to make sure you kids don't do anything that'll cause trouble for U.A. So don't go causing trouble for me, otherwise…" His eyes flash red, sending shivers of fear down each of his students' spines.

"Y-YES S-SIR!" they all cry out.

Tsuyu seems to the only one unaffected by his gaze. "Mr. Aizawa's scarier than any monster out here, kero."

"YO! Come on, Eraserhead!" Suddenly jumping the grouchy homeroom teacher is the all too enthusiastic Present Mic. "Learn to relax! What's gonna happen with all five of us here?"

He is of course referring to them both but also to Midnight, Snipe and Thirteen who have all volunteered to watch over the children for the evening with him.

"We'll watch them all like an eagle watches mice." promises Snipe. "Ain't nothing happening in this town under our watch."

"Yeah!" agrees Thirteen who seems just as excited as the kids they're watching. "Plus this could be fun."

"That it will!" Midnight gushes. "Aw, Halloween the night that sends shivers of emotions throughout one's body. And from that terror so many other emotions can blossom."

"You're delusional." Eraserhead deadpans.

"And you're no fun!" She snaps back.

"Just lighten up a little, Senpai." Thirteen insists while pulling on Eraserhead's arm. "You know we have enough to make a full team too. So what do you say while we patrol we try to show these kids just who are the real Masters of Halloween?!"

"YEAH!" The other teachers cheer in unison.

"You're all unbelievable…" As Eraserhead laments their responsibilities run off, separating into their various teams they scatter themselves amongst the crowds of trick-or-treaters.

"Move it you slow ass punks! If I lose then I'm gonna blast your faces off and wearing em like masks!" Katsuki Bakugou all but barks at his team, fitting considering he was forced to put on a werewolf costume: which is really just a ragged jacket with ears and a tail stuffed onto him.

"Morbid." Mina laughs. "But you don't mean it." he does mean it and she knows it but she's just going to ignore how her antennas are wiggling in response from underneath her Neko-cat ears.

However, there are those like Shoto Todoroki's who's skeptical. "You sure? I wouldn't doubt if he's rabid." Just in case, Todoroki pull his cape away and steps back to make sure his Dracula costume's still in order.

"Naw, there's nothing to worry about." Eijiro Kirishima laughs while slinging an arm over Todoroki's capped shoulders. "He's all bark and no bite."

"SHUT IT, SHITTY HAIR! AT LEAST I'M NOT IN A DRESS!"

"Hey, it's a hood. And it's on theme!" Kirishima is all but too happy to show off his Little Red Riding Hood costume.

"Enough! We're losing our lead. Now let's go!" With an ironic howl Baku-wolf leads the charge, his menacing aura even managing to clear a path through the terrified neighborhood.

He nearly shoves a teen in a white sheet into the ground as he goes.

"Woo!" Izuku stumbles, nearly getting himself tangled in his ghostly attire as a result. "I-I'm okay!"

"But we're not!" Both Ochaco Uraraka and Toru Hagakure whine.

"We're down a man!" exclaims Hagakure. "How are we supposed to compete?"

"It's no use…" Witch Girl, Ochaco, has already given into despair, pulling down on her witches hat she hides her tears and laments. "My chance at a year long supply of candy…gone. Just like that…"

Ghost Deku can't help but feel sorry for her. She was just telling them that as a kid she rarely got any candy except on Halloween. She would make sure to stock up for a year's worth to make things easier on herself and her parents. And she was so looking forward to winning this competition because of that.

But their chances are shot. Why? Well, they're missing their fourth member, who took off the moment the school bell rang, one Fumikage Tokoyami.

"It's okay Ochaco." Hagakure reassures. "We may have lost our residential ambassador of Halloween, but we can still pull off all our plans."

Witch-Girl Ochaco immediately brightens up. "Oh, yeah!" Her sunny disposition soon vanishes to one of a more sinister aura. "Oh, yeah. This is gonna be fun. Kekekeke."

Ghost Deku's not really sure what that's all about but he's happy that she's no longer moping. "Well, I think Tokoyami lives in the area. Why don't we work our way towards his place and pick him up?"

"That's a great idea!" agrees Hagakure before her aura too becomes sinister "We can pull all sort of tricks on the way."

"Hm? What was that?" asks the oblivious Izuku.

"Oh, nothing~" The two girls sing and yet Izuku just can't shake off this sense of ominous dread coming from them both.

"Er, o-okay…"

And so the trio heads out, with Ghost Izuku waving goodbye to their Class Rep. who is all too busy with his own plans.

"Alright Team A here's the game plan!" Franken-Iida drops his highly detailed map onto the ground and begins to give his teammates the rundown. "First up, Nagasaki Estates for the big bars and Candy Corn relay. Then down to Okamura's for the Haunted Hayride Spooktacular. And I've scheduled bathroom breaks so just… *groans* hold it 'til we get to Mr. Hayashi's. Great bathroom, freshly tiled."

"Forget the legwork." Shinso interrupts with a cocky attitude. "I've got a plan that'll make us candy billionaires!" Shinso holds his nose up as he struts past Iida and his precious map. "Why work hard when we could go to one place and get all the candy you could ever want?"

Devi-Denki lights up. "We're goin' to a candy store?!"

"No, it's nighttime. Candy stores are closed."

Devi-Denki lights up to the point it might as well be Christmas. "WE'RE GONNA ROB A CANDY STORE!?"

"Ugh, no." Slapping his face, Shinso does his best to move on with a dramatic flair. "We're going to Horiko House! The most haunted house in town!"

"Oh, you mean that place?" asks Devi-Denki as he points over to the opposite end of the block.

A massive, crooked house sits at the end of the street. Alone, desolate, and all too mysterious for those with morbid curiosity. The walls are rotting, and the green shingles are peeling off the roof. Windows adorn almost every corner of this gothic house, each cracked or smeared with dust and cobwebs.

"Ugh, no. We're going to a different scary house on a hill." Shinso clarifies.

Gorgon Jiro stares at the abandoned house with great skepticism. "Was that house there a minute ago?"

"Who cares about that?!" snaps Shinso. "I'm ready to win a lifetime supply of candy! Who's with me?!"

"YEAH!" Both Devi-Denki and Gorgon Jiro cheer and follow after the miniature Eraserhead.

"No! Wait! What about the plan?! The efficiency?! The apple bobbing and corn mazes?! Ooooh, wait for me! WAIT!"

Meanwhile the teachers hang back, observing as the last of their students take off. As they do they look over at the nearby haunted house with some mild interest.

"Was that really there this whole time?" asks Midnight. "I swear that lot was empty a minute ago?"

Snipe gives a shrug in response. "Eh, we probably didn't notice."

"Hm," Thirteen eyes the house closely. "I feel like I'm forgetting something here. But what is it?"

"I should have never come." comments Eraserhead.

"Aw, don't be like that!" Present Mic pulls Eraserhead in close as if he was gonna noggy him. "It's Halloween! A night of fun and terror! You never know we might have our own terrifying adventure tonight."

"I doubt it…"

From around the corner a killer clown watches. Most trick-or-treaters and residences pass on by thinking it's a costume. But what they fail to realize is that the guy with crazy oily red hair and a black and white clown getup is in fact the very definition of a psycho clown. "Never say never, heroes. Mwhahahahaha!"

"HEY! YOU GHOST!" A rambunctious brat with spiky gray hair and sharp teeth that match Kirishima's own runs up to a teen girl wearing a sheet.

"Yes?" Hagakure sing songs, her entire body is hidden underneath the sheet with only a pair of eyeholes allowing her to see.

"He he, your costume is kinda lame." The brat blatantly tells her while showing off his handmade Mario Kart costume. He even has a cardboard kart scrapped to his shoulders.

"Wrong, it's awesome. You just didn't see what there is under the sheet."

"Oh yeah?" The bratty kid grabs the bottom of the sheet and pulls it up like a shirt. "Let's check." The kids heart drops when he finds nothing underneath, not legs, not a body, nothing. There's no one underneath. "I-it's…it's e-empty."

"Kr krr krrr…"

The boy can feel the pair of eyes above him burrowing into the back of his skull. The air around him has turned cold and ominous as this being curses his very soul.

"You took a look under my sheet, and now you've been struck by my curse! Your body will now slowly begin to rot…"

"P-p-please, nooo!" The brat cries, begging for mercy.

"Hmmmm…I may lift the curse, but there's one condition. You know the drill…TRICK OR TREAT."

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" The brat flees for his life, leaving his entire candy haul behind as tribute for the hungry specter!

Hagakure smiles on, proud of her work. But her moment is cut short-

"Hagakure!" Izuku runs up to his teammate, without his costume. "What was that?!" He chides. "Is that why you wanted to borrow my costume?!"

"Of course! I mean, just check out-" With a flourish the Invisible Girl presents an entire pillow sack of sweets and treats. "MY LOOOOT~! Hehe!"

Izuku can't believe this, "You did this all for candy?!"

"Ah, Doy!" Hagakure waves it off. "It's a competition, Midoriya. We can't pull our punches."

"Well at least give me my costume back!"

"Fine." She hands it back and figures to put on her own hero costume gloves and shoes. "But why you giving me a hard time? Ochaco's the real evil mastermind tonight."

"What?"

She points just down the street towards the house with the only tree in its yard.

There it seems that the Witch Girl Ochaco is spinning a tale of witchcraft and horrors to a group of children. They seem so terrified, yet they're totally enraptured by her ghostly tale. It's kinda wholesome, and Izuku fails to see any ill intent at all with this supposed scheme at all. But he knows he spoke too soon when he sees Ochaco close her fingers into each other.

The moment they touch a horde of spiders and cobwebs fall from the tree branches and onto the poor unsuspecting children.

Screams fill the air as the kids rip themselves out of webs and scurry away, not caring if they have their candy or even their friends at their sides. Leaving the Witch Girl to maniacally laugh and howl at their misery.

"URAKAKA!" Izuku sprints through the fleeing crowd of children before reaching the webs himself. "What are you doing?!"

"WINNING!" She proclaims almost savagely. "Just look at all the sustenance I'm bringing in!" Through the webs she holds up bags upon bags of candy. "I'm gonna be set for years to come at this rate!"

"But spiders?!"

"Relax, they're fake." She demonstrates it by plucking a few up showing that they're nothing but rubber. Even the webs are just the normal cobwebs you use for decorations. "Now help me gather them all up, they're not cheap and I plan on using them again."

"Uraraka…just what's with you? This isn't like you."

"Look, Deku. I never grew up with much luxury or the opportunity to splurge when I wanted. I had to get creative, and Halloween is the one night a year that through hard work, I can set myself up for some luxury the rest of the year. And besides, nobody's getting hurt."

A flee kid slams into a mailbox, flips over, and then wobbly gets up again to run away.

"He's fine. It builds character." She insists.

Izuku shakes his head in disbelief. "I can't believe you two…"

Hagakure looks around spitting just how many houses have been TPed, or just how many houses have those sensor decorations and what not. Basically, everywhere she looks she sees various pranks and tricks being played. "Well, actually this one-time Midoriya you're the odd one out. I mean, Hello, Trick OR Treat. It's the literal motto of Halloween. And the fact that you don't want to play any tricks is just…lame."

For some reason that strikes a nerve harder than it probably should. "I'm…l-lame?"

"Very." She's so blunt! It hurts!

"I-I can be fun!" he insists while trying to put his lame, and admittedly, cheap costume back on.

"Oh really?" Ochaco smirks, devilishly.

He doesn't like that look in her eye nor the creepy giggling coming from Hagakure.

"Alright, then, we dare you to scare…that HOUSE OVER THERE!" Together the girls do a twirl and jam their fingers across the street, towards the most decorated house here.

At first glance it seems like a normal Japanese home with a privacy wall around the entire perimeter and the house being of a fairly modern design. However, this house seems to have gone all out in their decorations. The wall is covered in scraps of metal that all have been welded together in a rush job. With barbed wire coiled around the top of the walls. An iron gate has also been dropped in the way of the walkway, making it seem like it were guarding a medieval prison. There's even a random assortment of spotlights strung up from the nearby tree and light post which just adds to the dark prison vibe.

Approaching the house, Izuku's already having second guesses after opening his mouth. "T-this h-house?"

They nod back at him; they're insistent.

With deep breath he gives into the peer pressure. "Here goes nothing…" Figuring he can't do much on his own he decides to change up his costume. And so, with a quick dial up of the Omnitrix, Izuku takes on a new appearance. "Ripjaws!"

He announces to the world albeit with a little less enthusiasm than normal.

Sensing his hesitation the girls start pushing the fish man forward, not letting him a chance to escape.

Relenting his fate, Ripjaws swallows some water through the aquatic rebreathers along his neck and marches forward with quivering legs. Slowly he raises a sharp claw to the metal gate and prepares to ring the bell when suddenly-

"No! Stay Way!" A shadow emerges from atop the wall! It's a man in a while plague mask that totally covers his face. While a dark rob shrouds the man's entire form. But it does not hide the fact that he is wielding a rusty sledgehammer. "BE GONE!"

"AAAAHHH!" The trio of spooks cry out in terror as the Plague Doctor point his sledgehammer down their heads.

However, as the Plague Doctor stares them down he stops and takes a second to take each of them in. "Wh-whaa? You three?!" He rips off his mask to reveal a yellow beak underneath and a plumage of dark feathers.

The trio stops crying before shouting out in surprise. "Tokoyami?!"

"What are you doing here?" questions the Witch Girl-Ochaco.

To which the shrouded Tokoyami replies, "Why would I not be guarding my own domain?"

"Hm?" Ripjaws blinks before checking his Maps app. "Oh, oops. I forgot I punched in his address earlier. Ehehehe. My bad."

The girls don't seem to find it that funny.

Tokoyami seems hesitant, no, he's panicked, scared even as he looks up and down the empty street he waves for the three to hurry through his makeshift iron gate. "Hurry, get in here before the next group arrives!"

With the iron gate swinging open the three steps inside and take a moment to admire the attention to detail. If the outside is a fortress then the inside is a dungeon. The entire yard is filled with medieval weapons, chains, and cages making it seem like this is more of a dungeon with the outer wall being an evil castle.

It simply blows Witch-Girl Ochaco away. "The authenticity. The detail. This will scare any kid! Hahaha!"

Hagakure states gushing as well. "Tokoyami's a pro! Tonight's going to be horrifying!"

"MWAHAHAHAHA!" Together they both maniacally laugh into the night while Ripjaws is left standing there feeling very uneasy about all this…

"This isn't going to end well…"

If the last house was crooked then the Horiko House is twisted. Sitting on a hill on the other side of town this house is old, far older than any other house in town and sitting upon an edge to a dark and forbidding forest. Even though this house sits three stories high only its tower of an attic space reaches above the treeline. It's also fairly large yet disproportionate, like a haunted house out of a children's book, nothing is symmetrical or aligned. And yet this rickety old house is able to support all that weight despite the years of wear and tear, and the vines overtaking its structure.

But it's exactly what Shinso was picturing.

Pulling out a handful of postcards, Shinso starts reading off his script. "Legend says that in the time before Quirks, this house was hastily built on a gateway between the living and the dead. Every Treater who dares to enter disappears along with their candy, candy, candy." He echoes the candy part for a spookier effect. "Which means there's years worth of free candy inside!"

Devi-Denki's already salivating at the idea. "Hail Satan! A cache of treasure fit for a relaxed Satan spawn!"

"One last sweet score and we will never have to trick-or-treat again. Candy for life!" Shinso cheers, declaring his new motto while he hops over the rickety old fence and onto the Horiko House's property.

Franken-Iida's skeptical though. "Nice story, but I've never even heard of this place. Also you're trespassing! We want to trick-or-treat, not chase some phony myth in some abandoned property!"

Leaning back over the fence Shinso cockily remarks. "If it is just a myth, then no harm in getting to the truth. Right?"

That's enough to convince the others.

"A chance to test my costume and mingle with monsters? I'm in. Sounds punk rock as hell!" "With my cut I can finally open that 24-hour candy store I've been dreaming about since ten minutes ago!"

With excited cheers the Medusa and Devil jump the fence to join the faux-Eraserhead.

"Everyone! Wait! Please see reason!" Franken-Iida begs. "This is horribly irresponsible! And a crime!" His words fall on deaf ears with the three already making their way up to the front door. And so with a heavy sigh, Iida begrudgingly follows, pushing the unlocked gate open before gently shutting it closed before making his way up the trail.

Approaching the door they take in how thick and heavy it seems. And yet the hinges are barely holding onto the frame with such weight and rust.

It seems to be abandoned so Shinso doesn't bother to knock and instead goes right for the doorknob. Which immediately falls off before his fingers can even graze its rust.

Shrugging, Iida tries another shot at denying them this. "Oh no, we'll never get in now. Time to move on. This place is clearly…"

The door slowly creeks open, swimming in and clearing the way for them all.

"...abandoned."

Shinso breaks into the widest grin any of them have ever seen him make. "The bigger the trick, the sweeter the treat. Trademark Hitoshi Shinso."

Stepping inside the house is the definition of old and creepy. Dust and mold cover every square inch of the place, and collections of oddities are displayed across every corner from chewed up taxidermies, moth eaten curtains and drapes, to cobwebbed chandeliers, and oil portraits with eyes so details they feel like they're watching over the house's hallways.

And yet Shinso doesn't allow any of that to bother him and instead he carries on. "There's candy around here somewhere. Keep your eyes peel-woop!" He immediately slips and falls much to his chagrin and everyone else's laughter.

Groaning in pain and annoyance he checks to see what exactly tripped him up and it's a…wrapper? A candy wrapper's stuck to the bottom of his foot. Ripping it off and reading the label confirms as much. But it also confirms the random mess of candy wrappers all over the once velvet carpet.

But it's not a mess of wrappers, it's a trail and they're all leading down the hall into the nearest sealed door.

"There, that door!" He begins to lead the charge but stops when he sees everyone's hesitation.

He himself becomes a little uncertain and maybe he feels a little guilty. But with a shake of his head, he lies to himself that this'll be all worth it. "Come on, guys! We have faced all kinds of monsters! From villains to Nomus. What's gonna scare us here?! Nothing. Soooo-" He quickly grabs Devi-Denki and shoves him forward. "-Go for it, Kaminari!"

Devi-Denki freezes in place but considering that nothing could really be that scary he steps forward and accepts himself as tribute. And so, deciding to just get it over with, he kicks the door open and sure enough the trail of wrappers continues inside, leading on into the darkness. Summoning his courage, Devi-Denki steps inside and vanishes as the door swings closed behind him.

Leaning in close, Shinso holds his ear to the door and listens in closely. "No scream? Great!"

A horrified Gorgon Jiro rushes past and kicks the door open after Kaminari. But he's gone, nowhere to be seen. But then again she can't see much of anything thanks to how dark this creepy room is. Hoping to use the flashlight on her phone she fumbles to grab the device from her out of her stola.

Meanwhile, Shinso and Iida follow her in with the former making a rather naive comment. "Nothing scary in here at all…"

She's found her phone, and she aims the light up into the room. Which reveals a maze of towering shelves all filled to the brim with rotting, creepy, and strung up puppets.

"Oh, boy…"

The door suddenly seals itself closed with a slam, making the trio jump.

"Focus on what's important." Shinso insists. "Let's find the candy."

"You mean, "let's find Kaminari." Franken-Iida scolds.

"Uh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Him too."

Iida leads the way followed by Jiro with Shinso taking the rear while muttering his new motto to himself. "Candy for life."

They tiptoe past the creepy puppets whose eyes seem to follow their every movement. Some are leaning out of their shelves so far it's like they're going to suddenly jump and grab them. It doesn't help that they occasionally trip over their loose strings, causing them to flinch and jump. "We should be at Ms. Swineson's bobbing for apples." starts a very irritated and creeped out Iida. "You know, fun times, not grim traumatizing times." He shudders after making eye contact with one of the strung-up puppets.

But what's more unsettling is Kaminari's voice wavering in from a distance. "Over here, guysss…"

"Kaminari?" Jiro's Earphone Jacks perk up from underneath their snake disguises. That was certainly his voice but it sounds off, he sounds calm, too calm, for such a nerve racking place.

She leads the way just around the corner where a new light source emerges. An old TV sits in the far corner of the room, forgotten and dirty; it sits on the ground and plays nothing but static. However, the very little light it manages to produce outline's Kaminari's sitting form as he stares into the static filled screen.

"I found it, the mother loaddd…! It's all hereee…" Kaminari hums, not turning away from the screen.

Shinso approaches carefully, something's off. His friend seems too stiff sitting there. It's weird. And where did his costume go? Why is he back in his U.A. uniform?

"Kaminari? What are you doing?"

"Nothing." Devi-Denki casually answers while strolling up from the side.

"AAAAHH!" The three jump back, startled by the appearance of a second Kaminari!

"Why, what are you doing?" asks Devi-Denki.

Iida stops. "Wait. If you're here, who's that?"

The stiff Kaminari jerks in place. No, his body doesn't move, its head is the only thing that twitches in place. "No escapeee." Declares the Puppet Kaminari with a deep and menacing voice. Its head snaps around with a sick crack so it may lock its menacing glowing gaze onto its prey.

"AAAHHH!" Screaming they all jump back and crash into the nearest shelf. And form it puppet versions of themselves with dead unblinking eyes fall across their shoulders like corpses.

"AAAAAAAHHHH!" They run for it! Crashing through the maze they make a beeline for the exit with the possessed puppet right on their heels.

"HAHAHAHAHAaa!"

Franken-Iida races ahead, but this maze is too dark and too confusing, and the puppets in the way are slowing them down. But he sees it. A door. They can make it!

With his Engines roaring through his calves, he races ahead and reaches their last hope in seconds where he immediately rips it open. He leaps through, or at least tries to, but his hope is stopped when he slams into a second door. Hurriedly he rips open the second only to find a third door just a little shorter. Again and again, he flings doors open one after the other as the others desperately race to catch up.

"HURRY IIDA!"

"AAAHH!" Finally, he reaches the very last door, so small it might as well be for a dog. But it;s the exit! "HURRY!"

The possessed puppet draws closer, sprinting down the hall, its limbs flailing and barely touching the ground as if it was strung up by an invisible hand. "HAHAHAHAHAaa!"

The teens squeeze themselves through the doggie-door! With Shinso being the last one out. He falls into the hallway but doesn't bother to get up but instead starts kicking the door closed while worriedly chanting to himself. "Candy for life! Candy for life! Candy for life!"

Shoving against the door, the Kaminari-puppet's head lurches out. "Candy for DEATHhh!"

"Don't you turn my motto back on me!" Shinso gives the door one last kick, this being so hard that it snaps right through the puppet's neck.

The lifeless head falls onto the floor and rolls to a stop against Devi-Denki's shin.

"Eeek!" The real Kaminari kicks the dummy's head away before clutching at his poor racing heart.

Meanwhile, Team B is having their own experience over at the Tokoyami House.

They are all crouched down behind the privacy wall as trick-or-treaters continue their treks through the neighborhood.

Tokoyami takes watch first, mounting himself up into the yard's tree.

Meanwhile, Ochaco is giddy, crouched down behind the privacy wall, she's all bright eyed with an equally as excited Hagakure fidgeting beside her.

"So, what kinda haunted house we running?" The Witch Girl asks. "Medieval Torture chamber? Dungeon of Horrors? Oh! That's it! Years ago, raided by its enemies, this dungeon was pilfered and torched, and we are what remains!" Pointing over to their host she states their roles in this haunted house. "Tokoyami's the evil dungeon master. I'm your witch apprentice. And Deku you're the victim."

Deku's frown hardens. He already has a task and that's handing the next trick-or-treaters their candy. Hence the bowl in his hands.

"What am I?" Hagakure asks excitedly.

"You have the most important job." Ochaco states with all seriousness. "Candy retriever!"

A prideful tear rolls down the Invisible Girl's cheek. "I'll wear this title like a badge of honor!"

"Shhh." Tokoyami shushes them all before pulling his white plague doctor mask back on. "They're coming…"

"Okay, I love the commitment. We'll wing it!" Ochaco makes sure that her witch hat is secured as well as her little bag of tricks is prepped and ready.

A group of trick-or-treaters approaches. They're a trio of kids, about primary school age. Their leader is a rambunctious brat with spiky spray hair and sharp teeth that match Kirishima's. He's dressed as Mario and even has a cardboard kart around himself.

Then there's a boy dressed as Best Jeanist. With just an equally lavished hairdo of blonde and an air of posh around him.

And finally, the third member is a girl with blonde hair and a pair of flowers growing out of her head. She's adorable, dressed as a bumble bee, she's buzzing around her friends as they all approach the Tokoyami House's front gate.

However, the last thing they expect to have a spotlight suddenly blind them from above while a masked man in a cloak raises a sledgehammer over their heads. "BACK TO YOUR SULFUR PITS, OH, DEMON SPAWN!"

"EEEEEEEEKKK!" The kids run away with tears in their eyes as they cry out for their mommies.

Poking her head over the wall, Ochaco frowns and is actually taken back by their reactions. "Uh…boo?"

"Happy Halloween!" Deku leaps up and tosses out a handful of candy, but awkwardly there's nobody there to receive it anymore.

Clapping her hands, Ochaco takes a long deep breath before exclaiming. "Okay, Tokoyami. I love the energy. But maybe don't come in so hot next time? You got to give the kids a chance to-?"

"I'm not giving them any chances." Tokoyami states rather ominously, even from behind the mask and goggles there's an underlying threat in his expression. "Every year, they come and every year they come closer to calamity."

"Yeah, every October 31st."

Tokoyami shudders at the mention of the date. His fists clench around the sledgehammer as his entire body trembles ever so subtly.

But Deku noticed, he always notices. "Hey, Tokoyami…what do you think is going on here?"

Eying the street, and happy to see that all trick-or-treaters have been scared off, Tokoyami gestures for them all to follow him inside. "Come with me and I will reveal my tail."

The three share a look but figure that it's better to get answers inside than in the cold.

"We need to find a way out!" Franken-Iida is scrambling, this hallway isn't the way they came in. it's unfamiliar and twisted with doors upon doors lining both walls.

"Try all the doors!" Shinso shouts as he tries to seal the door from this side as that puppet, despite missing its head, pounds on it from the other side.

Devi-Denki swings open the nearest door. He accepts or at least hopes he'll find nothing but a large empty room. But nope, he had to open the one door with something terrifying inside. Because within the frame of the door stands a terrifying killer klown! He's huge with a disproportionately long face and jagged razor-sharp fangs spill out from his extended jaws. His hair is crazy and matted and his skin is as white as a skeleton's.

"HAHAHA-ARWOOOO!" The killer klown lets out a shrill of a laugh as his razor sharp fingers lash out at the blonde's face.

"AAAAHHH!" Devi-Denki slams the door shut although that doesn't stop the clown's razorsharp fingers from breaking through.

Franken-Iida tries his own door, but he must have the same luck as Kaminari or worse, because a blob of living slime spills out from the room. The blob is alive, all green and slithering, a metal device acting as a skull it towers over him with malicious intent.

"Wrong door! My mistake!" He slams that door closed causing slime to goop out through the cracks.

Gorgon Jiro tries her luck and she's forced to jump back when a skeletal arm with bits of rotting purple flesh lashes out at her.

Meanwhile, Devi-Denki tries another door only for a giant crab claw to smash through the frame.

Shinso, having given up on holding back the surprisingly strong puppet, tries one more door only for a withering tentacle with mandibles at the end to snap and bite at him. "AAAAHHH!"

As the headless puppet breaks free from its room the other monsters join their comrades in the hallway. Surrounding the teens the killer klown bares his fangs while the living blob paints the floor. And as the possessed puppet retrieves his head the claws and tentacles from the nearby rooms continue to flail and swipe at the air.

The three monsters creep closer, ready to devour and mutilate their victims.

That's when Gorgon Jiro takes one shot at ending this. "Hold!" She screams. "I-it is I, M-Medusa! The Gorgon of Sarpedon!"! To attack me, my fiends, is to attack one of your own!" Her fake snake hair slithers in place as to help sell the facade.

To her credit the monsters actually come to the stop. The three main ones even share a confused look with each other as if silently asking if this girl was serious. They must conclude that she's not and they return back to their previous state of aggression with snarls and fangs.

With a yelp Jiro scurries away. "Well-I tried!"

She accidentally shoves back into Shinso whose foot makes a weird crunch sound when it steps back.

Peering down he spots yet another tail of candy wrappers leading to the very last door at the end of the twisting hallway. "This way! It's the last door! And it can't be any worse than here!"

They all book it, but the monsters are right on their heels with the puppet floating after them as the fanged hairy klown leaps up and off the walls while their slimy companion slithers behind.

Franken-Iida, however, comes in clutch. He scoops up all three of his teammates as his Engines roar as the exhaust flames scorch the air. And with an incredible burst of speed Iida closes the distance in the blink of an eye. With just a swift kick he launches them all to freedom, specifically into the house's back porch, before dropping them and spinning around to shut the door closed. Grabbing a deck chair from nearby, he shoves it under the doorknob, sealing it in place.

"We made it! It's over!" He shouts victoriously.

"E-eh, D-die w-we?" Devi-Denki is shaking in his boots.

It looks like they jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire, finding themselves in a graveyard surrounded by twisted pitch-black woods, and an ever growing fog, with only the full moon providing any source of light.

With a deadpan look, Shinso spins around and judgmentally asks the Class Rep. "You sure about that?"

Placing his sledgehammer down against the family couch, Tokoyami takes a seat himself across from his wary guests in his family's living room. Which is void of anything breakable or valuable, there's not even a TV. It's as if the family was preparing for something dangerous to occur and wanted to hide everything away just so it wouldn't be destroyed.

"The Hungries." Tokoyami begins ominously. "That's what I call those foul creatures. Those soul sucking ghouls that haunt our streets on this very night."

Hagakure tilts her head to the side. "You mean trick-or-treaters?"

He ignores her question and continues on with his story. "It all began long ago; I remember it so vividly. I was out on a day just like this one: cold and foreboding. And yet I was fully enjoying my youth and freedom. But then…that's when I came across that damned, demonic house of horrors." A shiver causes the feathers in his mane to stand on end. "The horrors, the…monsters I found still haunt my very soul to this day. Such terror I felt that in my haste I failed to close Pandora's box. For when I escaped that forbidden place I realized that I had doomed the world so a grizzly fate. When I finally reached the outside world it was suddenly dusk and pint-sized demons were everywhere! Every type you could imagine! Smiling. Laughing! Breaking into people's homes! Stealing their souls to put in pillowcases! It was PANDEMONIUM!" He hangs his head low in defeat. "And because of my naivety I unleashed eldritch horrors onto our world."

His guests, while seated together tightly on the couch, aren't sure how or what to make of this story. It's too vague, and metaphorical for any of them to make sense.

That's when a voice of reason speaks out from behind them. "That's not what happened."

"AAAH!" The three jump in their seats.

Spinning around, Ghost Deku pulls back his hood in order to see who exactly snuck up on them. "Inspector Tezuka…!" He greets her nervously. "It-it's nice to s-see y-you."

The off-duty officer, and the mother of one Fumikage Tokoyami, throws him a dirty look. "Normally I'd kick you out but tonight…" She lets out a heavy sigh, "It's my son that's the trouble…this time."

Ochaco spins around in her seat. "Mrs. Tokoyami, what is, um, Tokoyami talking about."

She waves off the question. "Oh, don't mind him. On his first real Halloween we took him out trick-or-treating and he wandered off! Next thing I know he got spooked by some teenagers that were running their own haunted house. He ran out, saw everyone else in costumes and he accidently released Dark Shadow went crazy." A shiver runs down her spine at the memory. "Did some real damage that day too but thankfully I always come prepared with Flashlights!" She suddenly brandishes ten flashlights, one for each finger. "Here take some, Halloween is all about having fun, but it never hurts to be unprepared."

"Haha, cool!" Hagakure takes one and tries to shine her face, but the light goes right through.

Clapping her hands together, Ochaco takes a stab at putting it all together. "So, you got so freaked out as a kid that you unwillingly unleashed an overpowered Dark Shadow onto the neighborhood and now you're traumatized by the experience?"

"Yes," Tokoyami admits with much shame. "because of this lingering fear I spend every October 31st locked away and keeping all those oblivious ignorant fools away."

"So, you think of your Quirk as a curse that due to being over stimulated with fear will cause you to unleash a real monster of the shadows onto our world?"

"Yes."

"AWESOME!" She jumps up from her seat in triumph. "I'm in!"

"So am I!" cheers Hagakure.

"WHAT!?" Deku shouts while making him think that his ears might be broken.

A doorbell rings, signaling that some poor innocent trick-or-treater is at the gate.

"Another demon!" Tokoyami shoots up, grabbing his sledgehammer, he takes off to defend his home.

"This is perfect!" The Witch Girl gushes. "Real scares! The kids will think it's real because Tokoyami thinks it's real! "A Halloween they'll never forget!"

"Because they will be TRAUMATIZED!" Deku tries to reason.

"Traumatized is the most wholesome way possible! I love this holiday!"

Deku turns to the officer for help. "Please! Inspector Tezuka! Say something!"

But she's all indifferent to this. "Eh, trauma builds character. Plus, I save a ton on candy. Haven't had to buy any in years."

"AND YOU GIVE MY DAD SHIT!?"

"Let's go, Hagakure!" Ochaco calls her henchman to follow, and Hagakure goes for it, 100%.

"Yeah! I'm in!"

The two rush outside but are cut off right at the front door.

"No!" Deku cuts them off, blocking the way with his body. "I can't let you do it! Look, it was fine before, fun even, but this is too much!"

"But I must!" The Witch Girl shoves her way past but Deku latches to her and Hagakure's arms. "It's not enough! It's never enough, don't you see Deku? I'm not like you, I can't go out and just spend as much money as I want on whatever I want! I had to scrape and save for every little piece! And here we are, a chance at stockpiling the biggest haul of candy ever! Not only will we win but I'll have a stockpile for years to come!" Ripping her hand away, her fists begin to glow dangerously with power. "And I won't let you stop me!"

"I must do what I must." Slamming down on the Omnitrix, Deku's body tears itself apart, becoming paper thin before folding and expanding itself back together. "Winning be damned." Declares Snare-Oh. "I will not allow you to fall to the sins of greed and gluttony!"

The girls get ready, both taking fighting stances. "Then it looks like we're going to hell."

The three clash with Snare-Oh's papery limbs cascading across the yard like webs, netting the girls away from the gate. The Witch tries to fly up and away only to be grappled by streamers of bandages. To which she counters with a Ryou Sphere to Snare-Oh's main body!

As the three tussle and fight, Tokoyami leans over the privacy wall and spots another group of four hideous monsters approaching. He can practically hear their horrific moaning and groaning from here.

"Keep up, nerds!" Baku-wolf barks back at his pack. "I'm winning this thing and making all those extras eat it!"

Count Shoto frowns at their leader's comment, with his fake fangs poking out of his lips. "Wait, you want to feed everyone the candy you collected?

Little Red Riot lights up. "That's so nice of you, man!"

"Thanks, Bakugou!" Neko-Mina cheers.

"That's not what I meant, dammit!" Baku-wolf snaps as they approach the fortified home, not knowing it belongs to one of their many classmates.

With his patience already tested, Baku-wolf pounds his fist against the gate while shouting. "TRICK OR TREAT, DAMNIT!"

What he doesn't expect is an equally harsh response. "GO AWAY!"

Taken back he pounds on the gate again. "I said, trick or treat, you dumbfuck!"

"Neither!"

"Greedy bastard, eh?" Raising his hand his palm begins to spark with mini-Explosions. "That won't stop me!" before any of his teammates can stop him he BLASTS that surprisingly heavy gate down with a single Explosion and marches in like he fucking owns the place. "Now hand over everything you got!"

"AAAAAHHHH!" Kirishima's and Mina's jaws hit the floor in shock and horror.

But Shoto just hangs back, confused. "Is…this part of Halloween?"

Tokoyami gasps from underneath his Plague Doctor Mask. "They're breaking in! They're getting even bolder!" He turns back to see nothing but a net of bandages covering half his yard. He can't see much through them, but he can hear cries and shouting from the other side. And with his judgment already "clouded" he can only assume it's cries of terror. "No! I will not allow you to hurt my friends!"

With his sledgehammer in hand, the Plague Doctor makes his final stand. "HAVE AT THE DEMON!" He launches himself down from above and swings his hammer down towards the werewolf's head.

The monsters are knocking on the door, pounding it as hard as they might; the deck chair manages to prove sturdier than first presumed.

But the door is already starting to crack, and those hinges aren't gonna hold for very long either.

"That's it! I've had it! I'm calling the teachers!" Jiro tries to dial up Mr. Aizawa but it goes straight to voicemail. She tries to others but it's the same thing. "SERIOUSLY!?"

"It's okay." Iida tries to reassure while pulling out his well-developed map. "We made it through the house! And with enough time to get to Mr. Hounedheimer's for-"

"But the legend!" Shinso cuts in, sounding dejected and somewhat heartbroken. "Where was the candy stash?" Determined to find it, he marches back towards the house. "I gotta go back in!"

"Nope!" Iida shoves him back. "Let's forget about this half-baked scheme. If we leave now we can still pick up the back-half of the trick-or-treat trail. We're not out of this competition yet!"

"Last time I checked, we're hero students from the greatest hero school on Earth. We've taken on villains. Nomus! And things so much worse. Why not now? 'Cause this house isn't on your precious map?! Well, I'm putting it on there! Give it to me!" Shinso rips the offensive map right out from Iida's hands.

Iida tries to snatch it back, but Shinso keeps it out of his reach. Pulling away he opens the map himself only to stop when he notices one small detail. "Wait." he unfolds the map further to reveal in the margins a drawn-up version of the Horiko House with the following lines scribbled next to it. "Hey, Horiko House. Fabled candy fortune here. Stay away." Betrayal sets in. "You knew about this."

"No!" Iida tries to deny but he quickly breaks under their hard stares. "Fine Yes."

"You told us it was fake!" Shinso snaps. "You tried to get us to avoid it! What, were you planning on hoarding all the candy yourself?!"

And thus kicks off an argument with Shinso tearing into Iida who counters with how selfish Shinso's been all night. It gets pretty bad to the point that Jiro tries and fails to moderate the two.

That leaves only Kaminari to notice exactly how much the atmosphere has changed. There's so much fog rolling in now, making the tombstones hard to see. A continuous song of rustling leaves and branches echo along with a chorus of ravens from what sounds like all around them. But he can see one thing, from across the east side of the cemetery, he spots a well. Just a random, possibly algae filled well.

But what he doesn't expect is to see a grotesque hand reach out from the well.

"AHHH!"

The hand is sopping wet with water and muck, each grey finger appears to be stitched onto the thin yet muscular hand which hoists a grey skinned girl out from the depths. The girl's ratty soaked hair is draped over her face and like a phantom she dawns a rotting black cloak.

Fearfully shaking, Kaminari tries to warn the others. "H-h-hey, gu-guys! Tw-twelve o'cl-clock!"

Listening. The three stop arguing for a second in order to look at the west of the graveyard.

"Oops. I mean-SIX O'CLOCK!"

They all spin around in the opposite direction only to all let out identical shrieks as the living corpse rises off the ground with stiff joints and cracks of electricity around her frame. Extending a stitched finger at them she declares in a wispy growl, "No…esc-ape…!"

"AAAHHH!" They each prepare to run back towards the house but just then the monsters inside manage to break out.

"ARRROOOOOOOOOO!" An ear splintering howl blasts the door to oblivion from within and unleashes the possessed puppet and living slime onto the graveyard with the killer klown soon following after adjusting his own jaws.

With a scream the teens flee for the woods but are cut off as the possessed puppet flies in the way, its eyes glowing a threatening violet as it lunges at them.

"AAAHHH!" They retreat only for the green blob to lash out at them, cutting off their path with a trail of sticky and possibly acidic slime.

Backing away they find their backs against the rusty gate of a crumbling mausoleum and through the grates the same monstrous limbs from before: the crab claw, tentacle, and rotting purple hand springs out and pin the teens in place.

The teens struggle all they might, but these skinny limbs are far stronger than they appear. Their grips just won't break. Leaving them totally defenseless as the monsters approach with their fangs and claws bared.

"We have to appease them!" Jiro cries "It's tradition!"

"We don't have anything to appease them with!" Iida pulls and struggles. "Cause we followed Shinso's plan!"

The monsters are upon them and ready to devour their souls when Iida suddenly cries out.

"NONE OF US HAVE CANDY!"

And like that the monsters stop dead in their tracks.

Pulling back her sopping hair the girl from the well reveals the pale and stitched up face of a Transylian A.K.A. a Frankestrike. "No candy?"

The killer klown rips off his mask allowing his fuzzy lupin face some much needed air. "What do you mean no candy?"

Suddenly the clicks of stage lighting drum across the room, lighting up the entire graveyard it's reveal that they were in fact never outside but instead in a large room. In fact, if they just sprinted 10 feet to the left they would have ran straight into a wall just painted in a way to look like it was a dark creepy forest. Even the moon high above is fake and painted on with glow and the dark paint.

And there behind a tombstone that reads "Rustin Peece" is a boom box playing all those raven and rustling noises. Speaking of the tombstone, they're all fake too. In fact, they're almost all puns and inside jokes like "Asher T. Ashes," "Brock Lee Spears," and "Chris P. Bacon." Heck on the tombstones is just a large Number 1 symbol with "Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen" written at the bottom, and behind that tombstone is a fog machine.

The teen share a look of confusion. "Nani?"

The Frankenstrike-Girl sighs. "Back to one, everybody!"

The possessed Kaminari puppet collapses but a wisp of an Ectonurite is left hovering in the air. "Onto the next grouppp. Gahhh!" The ghostly vestige spits in frustration. "If anyone needs me I'll be in my coffinnn."

The limbs that have been holding the kids in place pull themselves forward revealing that they are in fact severed limbs that have been controlling themselves. The thin limbs limp themselves away as the body of a Wrighter hops out from his hiding place.

Meanwhile, the slimy Polymorph is turning on the last of the spotlights through a lever hidden behind the one fake tree they could afford. That's when the teens realize that there's actually an Anti-Gravity projector over the guy's head.

Wearing a hat that reads STAFF, he then slithers over to the boombox and shuts it off before moving on towards the fog machine.

Meanwhile, the Frankenstrike-Girl, Blitzwolfer man, and Ectonurite glare back at the kids in annoyance before waving them off as a waste of time and heading off to do their own things.

The teens for their part are so lost and confused. Sure, Halloween is all about tricks but this is just…awkward.

With a swing the Plague Doctor aims his hammer right at the werewolf's head.

But even with a sneak attack, Bakugou's reflexes are on point and he instantly, without thinking, leans back just enough for the hammer to swing just past his nose before striking the concrete ground and cracking it. "What the FUCK!?"

"BE GONE!" Declares the house's master. "LEAVE THIS PLACE AND NEVER RETURN!"

"Yeah, right. Not until you hand over the goods!" With a boom Bakugou launches himself at his attacker. "Ya bastard!"

"Such foul language!" The Doctor swings his sledgehammer up and manages to bat away the werewolf's exploding claw. "As expected of a twisted soul like you!"

"Shut up!" Swinging his palm up Bakugou manages to land an Explosion dead onto the freak, blasting him back across the yard. "HA!"

A stray ember, a result of his blast, floats down and lands onto his sack of candy, causing it to catch on fire.

"My spoils!" Bakugou gasps and hurries to kill the flames.

With his back turned, the Doctor spots his opening to put this beast down once and for all. "I swore I would never do this, not on this night. But I see now just how much of a menace you really are." His clock begins to billow as shadows cast out from within like an eldritch spell. "Go forth, and bring up its doom, DARK SHADOW!"

"HAHAHAHAHA!" Dark Shadow is unleashed upon the world, his form far monstrous and larger than normal he raises a car sized claw far above the werewolf's head.

Baku-wolf only has a second to realize what's happening when he's grabbed and tossed out of the yard like trash!

From outside the wall his team sees nothing but him being flung away across the street.

"BAKUGOU!" They race after him as Tokoyami struggles to withdraw his demon.

Thankfully he manages to get the withering and howling Dark Shadow back under his control. "This madness will never end! This fear, this miser. It just keeps coming for me and my companions." Pausing to confirm his thoughts he comes to a single conclusion. "It's time I conquered my fear and put an end to this nightmare. I need to go back to where it all began." With a far off look he stares across the sky as he slings the sledgehammer of his shoulder. "I must seal Pandora's Box."

Meanwhile, Snare-Oh's bandage wall finally tears away after benign burnt by the residual Explosions. What's left of Team B tumble out with Snare-Oh binding the two girls against his chest.

"Oh, come on Deku!" The Witch Girl whines. "A little scare never hurt anyone!"

"Stay back!" shouts Tokoyami as he tails it down the street with his sledgehammer swinging past trick-or-treaters' heads. "You will all be banished FOREVER!"

"Oh, no!" Ochaco cries. "He's gonna hurt everyone!"

Snare-Oh gives her a smug yet condescending look.

And she rightfully shrinks back. "Now is not the time to decide who was wrong about what. We've gotta stop him!"

"Now that we can agree on!" Snare-Oh helps the two on their feet and together they race off down the street after their friend. In their rush they fail to notice Team C just meters away.

"Hey, Baku-bro…" Kirishima approaches the fallen heap that was their leader very carefully, like he were approaching a wounded beast. "You okay, buddy?"

"Where is he?"

"Where's who?"

"Where's the bastard that did this?" Baku-wolf rises, salivating from the mouth he looks rabid with anger. "Forget the fucking candy. The only sweet thing I want is sweet sweet REVENGE!"

Meanwhile, the supposed "Monsters" could care less what their uninvited guests are doing. They're just too busy with getting their stage sets and effects back in order while the Wrighter slots his severed limbs back into their proper places.

"Gross." Shinso shutters, hiding his mouth behind the Capture Scarf.

"Actual monsters?!" Jiro gasps with excitement. "That's so punk rock! Then surely you must recognize Medusa The Gorgon of Sarpedon!"

The Monsters shrug, not recognizing her costume at all apparently.

However, after giving Devi-Denki a sniff over the Blitzwolfer look alike gives the blonde in a Hawaiian shirt a thumbs up. "Hmm, devil on vacation?"

"Oh, yeah." Devi-Denki replies happily.

"Nice."

"Eeer." Gorgon Jiro lets out a groan of frustration.

Stepping forward, Iida addresses the Monsters directly. "Who are you people?"

"More importantly," Shinso interjects. "where are ya hidin the candy?!"

"You brats are supposed to bring the offering!" The Frankenstrike Girl explains with an accusing tone as she wrings out her ratty soaked hair of water. "Candy's the only good reason to celebrate this holiday that is, frankly, pretty offensive to us."

The Ghostfreak floats in, adding in another fact. "So, for decades, we tricked kids into coming here for scares so terrifying they drop their sweetsss."

Devi-Denki tries to put it all together. "So, you're like candy thieves?"

Iida shakes his head in disappointment. "Could you imagine anything more despicable?"

The ghost takes a lot of offense at that. "Heyyy!" Some of us can't go out in the daylighttt. Besides, not like there's some 24-hour candy store somewhereee."

"That's what I've been saying!" Dev-Denki exclaims.

Jiro's excited too but for a different reason. "Monsters? Treats? Appeasements? The legends are true! Kinda…"

"But why the extra costumes?" asks Franken-Iida. "You're already monsters."

The Blitzwolfer lets out a low growl. "Kids today don't appreciate the classics. You're scared of random kid stuff: Puppets? Clowns? Little girls in wells? What is wrong with you guys?!"

The zombie-like Wrighter nods in agreement, "Wrighter think it stem…from latent fear of being perceived as childish…and regressing to place where you no longer in control…"

The Frankenstrike-Girl groans in exasperation. "Who cares? It's midnight. Trick-or-treating is over and we wasted the night on these candiless fleshbags."

The news rings in Shinso's ears like a deathroll and his early provato vanishes. "We missed it? We missed Halloween." He says so pathetically, his confidence and eagerness shattered, as he limps off to the side to sulk in absolute disappointment.

"Shinso?" Iida, forgetting about their just recent argument, sets it aside to check on his…friend. He wants to ask if he's okay, maybe to pull him up onto his feet, but instead he sits down and just talks… "So, we made a mistake. At least we're still alive! We met some real-life monsters. That's a-that's a cool thing, right?"

Huddled against a fake tombstone, Shinso hugs his legs and buries his face behind his knees. ""I'm sorry for dragging you here. I just wanted…"

"I know, you wanted to win."

"…No. I never wanted to win." Shinso admits while trying to hide his misty eyes. "I wanted…to be part of it."

"Part of what exactly?"

"Part of Class A."

Iida's taken back, his heart dropping as Shinso continues on.

"I wormed my way into a spot after the Sports Festival. But even by then you guys had already been through so much and made so many memories with each other. You're all like puzzle pieces that just fit together so well from the start but I'm…I'm an odd piece out. I don't quite fit with all of you. You all have such strong bonds and I…wanted that. It's selfish but I wanted to feel like I was part of it. I wanted a memory too. And…I don't know, I guess I thought that winning this stupid competition would…do that. I'm sorry."

"No. I'm sorry." Iida places a gentle hand on Shinso's shoulder which makes the purple haired teen lookup. "I'm sorry if you ever felt like we were keeping you on the outskirts. Because we don't think that at all. We appreciate you, we care about you, far more than you seem to realize."

Much to their surprise but also to their delight, Devi-Denki walks up after hearing them both, and offers a kind smile. "You say you wormed your way in but, dude, you're one of us. Have been from the start. I mean you exemplify the hard work all of us should also be striving for."

"He's right." adds Jiro. "You earned your place in the hero course, arguably, more so than most of us. And we respect you for it. Heck, we admire you."

Shinso can't believe it, this all feels so unreal. And why is his face so wet? He doesn't understand.

"You're not an oddity here, you're one of us!" Iida proclaims with such conviction that he shoot up onto his feet. "And no naive competition will ever disprove that. Ever."

Shinso…understands the tears now. "Thank you… Thank you."

They all hold him, letting him get all of the negative emotions out of his system, until he's a coughing but somewhat laughing mess. As he truly begins to appreciate the moment with a smile.

It's a beautiful moment, one that Kaminari unintentionally ruins. "And besides, who cares about the candy?"

"WE DO…!" The Wrighter suddenly ambushes the teen, leaping up onto the tombstone he bares his crooked fangs through a set of foaming jaws.

"AAAAHHH!" The teens hurry away but are stopped by the other equally enraged monsters.

Sparks of electricity dance off of the Frankenstrike-Girl's thin yet muscular form. "We need our sweets. Our appeasements." She half-growls half-moans.

"No more-ARWOOOO tricks!" The Wolf-Alien howls as saliva drips from his fangs.

"You owe us treatsss!" shrieks the Ghostfreak! "And we don't scare so easilyyy."

The teens are surrounded, pressed back to back, Kaminari is left remembering the most out of the four. "Uh, J-Jiro, w-what happened wh-when the Celtics ran out of treats to appease the d-demons with?"

She's more than happy to answer. "Usually they fed on children!" It takes her a second for the reality to wink in. "Oh, shit."

The monsters from the zombie, Frankenstein, ghost, and werewolf close in, ready to satiate their bloodthirsty appetites with savory blood and meat.

WHAM…* Suddenly there's a slam against the opposite wall. Then another and another of hard metal knocking against wood. The wooden wall creaks, cracks, and buckles but it manages to hold. There's a loud roar of frustration from the other side which is followed by a moment of silence before the wall explodes, smashed apart by the sledgehammer wielding Plague Doctor. "RAAAAAAGHH!"

"AAAH!" Devi-Denki screams. "Another one!"

"That's not one of oursss!" The Ghostfreak cries out in terror as the plague doctor brandishes his rusty weapon at them.

"This nightmare ends now, DEMONS!" With a bloodcurdling roar, the shadows around the psychotic doctor whirl like flames before a demonic monster of epic proportions rushes for them. "RAAAAAGH!"

"RUN FOR IT!" With the Frankenstrike-Girl's scream filling the air, her and her three companions make a mad dash for the house!

They sprint inside, through the shattered door, crashing into their own decorations and nicknacks as they scramble to get away.

Meanwhile, in another part of the house a Witch-Girl, Invisible Girl, and a friendly Ghost are wandering the Horiko House after spotting their friend rush onto the property.

Shining the flashlights they got from Inspector Tezuka they check each and every room while calling out for their classmate.

"Tokoyami! Tokoyami, where are you?!"

With no answer, Ghost Deku grows more and more desperate. "Forget it!" He grabs the Omnitrix. "I'll get Wildmutt or someone to find him."

With her back towards the rest of the hall, Hagakure frowns after hearing a commotion in the distance. "Hey, do you guys hear that? Are they…screams?"

"AAAAH!" Suddenly a group of four monsters slam into Hagakure, tripping over her!

Falling to the ground the monsters peer up only to meet the equally surprised and fear expression of a Witch-Girl.

"AAAAAAHHH A WITCH!"

"EEEEEEEKKKK!" Ochaco screams right back at them in equal terror and out of reflex she aims her flashlight right at them.

The light accidentally goes through a terrified Hagakure's body causing the light to bounce and reflect like strobe lights!

"AAAAAAH!" Everyone goes blind from the monsters to the teens, even Izuku is blinded. He reaches for stabilization but instead slams down onto his own watch which flashes green!

"My eyes! MY EYES!" The Frankenstrike-Girl wails.

"Me no like..!" whimpers the Wrighter.

The Blitzwolfer rubs at his eyes as he stumbles around aimlessly before tripping over himself. "Ooof!"

A black hand with green fingers extends down to the wolfman. "Vhere leT me heelp you." The person greets with an exaggerated Transylvanian accent.

"Oh, thanks friend." The wolfman takes it, however, he notes how cold this hand is and those fingers are sharper and firmer than they seem.

Peering up the blood leaves the monster's face when he comes face to face with the fanged smile of a living Vladat.

"Ve noT afraid." Whampire's fangs glint in the darkness. "I von'T hurT you."

"EEEEEEEEEKKK!" The monsters' souls leave their bodies for a few seconds as they scream their lungs out at the sight of their most dreaded enemy.

And without another thought they take off, leaving nothing but a dust cloud in their wake.

Whampire frowns, blinking in confusion. "Vhat jusT happeened?"

"AAAAHH!" The Blitzwolfer, Writher, and Frankenstrike-Girl slams the door shut as the Ghostfreak phases his way through the wall.

They press themselves against the door, trying to hold it shut.

"Was that a Vladat?!" cruises the Wolf-alien. "I thought they were extinct?!"

"Vello?" Whampire's voice echoes from the other side of the door. "Vhave you seeen our friend?"

"EEEK!" The Frankenstrike-Girl cries. "He found us?!"

They all listen in as the Vladat talks. "Oh, I vound you, Tokoyami."

SMASH!* The rusty head of a sledgehammer breaks through the door causing the monsters to scream out as the Plague Doctor rips the hammer away and presses his beak inside. "HERE'S TOKOYAMI!"

The monsters back away as the terrifying Doctor smashes his way inside, marching forward with his hammer raised but then he steps on something hard and wooden.

Looking down, Tokoyami freezes when he finds a puppet version of Kaminari underneath his boot. "What have you done to KAMINARI!?" With his rage renewed he unleashes tendrils of darkness across the room.

Panicked, and with their only way out blocked, the Wrighter smashes a hole in the nearby wall. "This way we go…!"

They all squeeze themselves through as Dark Shadow's body thrashes across the room sending tremors all throughout the house.

But they make it through, and down the hall, and right towards the front door. The exit! It's IN REACH!"

They make a beeline for the door, with their hope of a tomorrow renewed. But those dreams are dashed as a fiery hell Explodes through the door revealing a hairy blonde demon on the other side. "Trick. Or. Treat." A glowing red eyed, Baku-wolf growls with fire and smoke rising all around him.

The monsters freeze, they look to the nearby windows. Maybe they can jumbo through them but there are more creatures waiting for them! Pressed against the windows a killer in a red cloak lingers, along with a violet kitsune, and another well-dressed but shorter Vladat!

There's a commotion from behind them, and the monsters find the Witch, the green Vladat, and an Invisible mass wrestling with the rampaging dark mass.

(Meanwhile Ochaco, Hagakure, and Izuku are trying to hold back Tokoyami.

"Tokoyami! You have it all wrong!" Ochaco begs for him to stop but Dark Shadow's throwing them around like rag dolls.

"Vlease!" Whampire begs, flying just above Dark Shadow in an attempt to keep the attention on him. "Stop this madneess! LeT's go ouT for TreaTs and sveeTs!"

The monsters have had it. Surrounded by creatures and demons, and with full pandemonium unleashed they only see one option left.

"Enough of this!" The Frankenstrike-Girl rips out what looks like car keys but when she presses on them, instead of unlocking a car, the entire house begins to rumble as the entire ceiling begins to glow purple and orange.

"I knew we should have never come hereee!" cries the Ghostfreak as a portal from above begins to beam them up.

The Blitzwolfer trembles as he's floated into the portal. "This place is infested with MONSTERS!"

In they go, scurrying into their spaceship, more portals quickly beam up whatever Staff members and equipment they brought with before theory flying saucer rips itself off the house and speeds away into the starry sky.

The light of their ship diminished Dark Shadow leaving Tokoyami prone on the ground, heaving for air. Meanwhile, Iida and his team rush over as a breeze flows in thanks to the lack of a roof.

Baku-wolf pauses and leans back as the last of the flames die off. "Deku? Class Rep? What in the ever-fucking hell is happening here?"

With the tension broken by the alien-monster's sudden exit Team A breaks down into fits of laughter.

"That was terrifying! Bravo! Bravo!" Jiro claps at what she assumes was Tokoyami's performance. "You black hearted devil! Hahahaha!"

Even Devi-Denki is all smiles. "I haven't felt so alive! Haha!"

Shinso lets out a laugh. "Evil Warlock is the real master of Halloween!"

Shoto blinks in confusion and hopes the Neko-Mina has an answer. "Is that what Halloween is about?"

She shrugs. "Eh, in a way."

Meanwhile, Team B is helping their last member up, who wobbles onto his feet as he rips off the Plague mask for air. What happened? What have I done?"

Ochaco offers him a reassuring smile. "You faced your fear is what you did!"

"But I failed to tame Dark Shadow? I could have hurt someone."

"Yees, vut you did noT." Whampire reassures. "Ve goT your back my frieend. You don't have to handle this alone. Ve're a Team. And a Team scares Togethuh, noT each vother."

The other teams were listening in and they're even more confused about this whole situation then anything else really.

Kirishima scratches his head. "Um, what?"

Hagakure sighs. "He's really confused about what Halloween is. He's dealing with some traumatic memories."

An idea pops into Franken-Iida's head. And so with a smile he bumps Shinso's shoulder. "Well, Eraserhead," he winks, admiring Shinso's costume. "shall we make some new memories?"

Shinso smirks from behind his capture scarf and fake goggles. "I don't see why not?"

Overhearing them, Ochaco lights up in excitement. "As it happens I heard the neighboring town is going till 2am!"

"Then what are we waiting for?!" Baku-wolf barks. "I'm still gonna win this thing!"

Forgetting about revenge and now reminded of the competition Bakugou bounds away with his group tailing him.

Team A all form together as one click as they get themselves ready to actually start collecting candy for the first time tonight.

With Team B taking the rear with Hagakure and Ochaco staying close to Tokoyami with a pair of flashlights each just in case, while Whampire floats ahead, guiding everyone back towards the other side of town.

Off they go past the decorated houses with Jack O'lanterns, plastic skeletons, and all sort of creepy and bloody decorations. Trick-or-Treaters are still out and about, heading home for the night or marching on to the next town over too.

They even spot their other classmates in the mix either marching over too or calling it a night.

After a while the 3 groups end back on the main street that they first arrived on with Whampire finally landing and reverting back to human. "Well that was something."

The Witch-Girl smiles. "I'm proud of you Deku. You finally learned to be scary."

Ghost Deku chuckles, "I have to admit but it was kinda fun scaring those aliens. I think I kinda have a taste for it now."

As they all walk together as one big group, they spot their teachers all gathered in front of another haunted house. They seem exhausted yet thrilled, as if they had just survived their own adventure.

A brilliant and evil idea crosses Deku's head when he spots them.

As does the Witch-Girl who will certainly feel bad about how much of a bad influence she is on her friends tomorrow.

"Kekekeke!" With a flash of green, Ghostfreak cloaks himself in Deku's costume and prepares to terrify all those that cross his path. "Kekekekekeee! Happy Halloweennn!"

Notes:

*I think Ghostfreak said it best but HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Promise me that you will all stay safe out there tonight while you pull your tricks and collect your treats. It's a night for terror and fun, but let's make sure everyone has a good time too.

*As mentioned in the beginning Author's Note, this OVA is heavily based on the Ducktails (2027) Season 3 Episode 10 - The Trickening. With all of the MHA characters substituting in for one of our beloved Ducktails characters. Gosh this show needed just one more season.

*Also the bit with Hagakure traumatizing a child was by " 50% Pokemon 50% MHA, 100% PLUS ULTRA " artist on Tumblr.

You can also find a comic dub of this same comic called " My Hero Academia [Comic Dub] - A Real Ghost PHANTOMSAVAGE "

*Also, a little fun fact but I kinda implied that this Halloween OVA 2024 takes place at the same time as last year's Halloween OVA 2023. Hence why Aizawa and the others were shown near another haunted house only at the beginning and at the end. I know it wasn't played off that smoothly but hey, this month got busy and I waited until the last few weeks to write this so time was of the essence.

*UPDATE* Sooo, let's be real, this is the real reason you're here. I mean it's fine, I just tried to give you some Halloween fun but it's okay I'll still give you your treat.  *Drum Roll* The next chapter… Will… Be… Posted… later. Sorry but I really can't rush through this and plus I had this OVA to write up to. I barely have anything done for the next real chapter other than some disjointed points of interest. My hope is that as soon as this Sunday I will begin the next chapter, and my plan is to post on the day of this story's anniversary if I can help it.
