The decision to get married had been both the hardest and the easiest decision for Hotch and Rossi to make.
They both have failed marriages under their belt, Hotch one and Rossi three, and they all knew what it was like to have the person you love leave.
But even with their pasts Rossi and Hotch knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, knew they wanted to get married.
Even with their track records they wanted this.
“You nervous?” Sean asked his brother as he watched Hotch get ready.
“No.” Hotch said with a small shake of his head as he met Sean’s eyes in the mirror. “Surprisingly I’m not nervous.”
“That’s a good thing right?” Sean asked him, he hadn’t been there when Hotch and Gideon got married, no one had actually been there, the whole wedding had been a spur of the moment thing.
“I guess. I was nervous when Jason and I got married but I didn’t feel the nervous until after we had actually gotten married.” Hotch explained as he tried to get his tie just right. “Dave’s been married three times before, should that not be some kind of warning.”
“No, not necessarily.” Sean shock his head with a small laugh. “The tie looks fine Aaron. And Dave, I don’t think his past marriages are any kind of warning. He loves you and he loves the kids.”
“They love him.” Hotch agreed with the younger man as he turned around to look at Sean. “Spence called him dad the other day.”
“He did?” Sean asked in shock, it had taken Spencer and Derek the longest out of all five of them to start to trust Rossi so Spencer being the first one to call him dad was defiantly not something he saw coming.
“Yeah, I don’t think he realised what he did at first but he’s been calling him dad ever since.” Hotch told him as small smile pulled onto his lips. “Dave looked really happy about it, he told me he was really happy about it.”
“And you love Dave?”
“Yeah of course I do.” Hotch confirmed without a second of thought.
“And you want to spend the rest of your life with him?” Sean knew how to calm down his brother if the other man was worrying even a little bit, and while his brother had said he wasn’t nervous at all Sean could see that his brother was worrying at least a little bit.
“Yeah I do.”
“Then this isn’t a mistake.” Sean told him with a small shake of his head. “Now leave your suite alone, in five minutes you’re going to be marrying Dave be happy about that.”
“I am happy about this.” Hotch confirmed as his smile turned into the love sick one he always seemed to get when he talked about the older FBI agent. “Really happy about this Sean. I wouldn’t be doing it if I wasn’t.”
“Then stop worrying. The boys will be in here in a minute and you know at least Spence will pick up on your nerves.”

“Are you going to leave my dad?” Derek asked as he walked into the room Rossi had been getting ready in.
“What?” Rossi asked as he turned around to look at the fifteen year old.
“Are you going to leave my dad?” Derek said again as he closed the door behind him.
“I don’t have any planes on ever leaving your dad.” Rossi assured him as he let out a long breath. “I love him.”
“Gideon said he loved him.” Derek pointed out, he and Emily were the only ones who never called Gideon dad anymore.
“Gideon was going through a lot when he left, and I’m not saying that excuses what he did because it doesn’t. Gideon did loved your dad and he did love you but it wasn’t enough for him.” Rossi started to explain softly, he could understand why the teenager was so worried about the wedding, the only two marriages he had seen did not have happy endings.
“Is it going to be enough for you?”
“Yeah it will be kid. I’ve been married before and they all fell apart because I didn’t feel for them what I feel for your dad.” Rossi wasn’t normally this open with people but he knew Derek found it hard to trust people and he could understand why he did so Rossi was trying to be a little more open with him in a hope to gain his trust.
“Okay. You hurt my dad though and you’re going to have to deal with me.” Derek warned him pointing a finger in the older man’s direction.
“I have no planes of ever hurting him Derek, I promise you.” Rossi assured him one last time. “Now you should probably head down to your dad’s room, it’s about time.”
Derek nodded slowly giving one last look at the older man before he walked out of the room and down the hall.

Hotch couldn’t help the smile that pulled onto his lips as he watched Rossi walk over to him.
They were only having a small wedding and had decided early one that neither of them were going to walk down an aisle, they were just going to meet at the alter.
Pen had spent the last few weeks trying to convince both Rossi and Hotch to do their own vowels, something she had seen in movies and TV shows she watched but both men knew their didn’t want to do something too fancy or out there for their wedding, they just wanted to get married.
And as the two of them said their wedding vowels they both knew they were going to follow them forever, and in the end with their family by their side it was all the two of them needed for their wedding.

“Want to dance?” Rossi asked his new husband as he walked up next to Hotch.
“Yeah.” Hotch smiled with a small nod as he took the older man’s hand and let Rossi pull him up from his chair.
Rossi pulled the younger man towards the dance floor before taking the taller man into his arms and slowly starting to sway. “You starting to regret marrying me yet?”
“Never.” Hotch pulled away and leaned down enough to kiss Rossi, both of them trying to show all of their love in this one kiss.
There family was surrounding them. The older kids making the younger ones dance around them. Sean and his current girlfriend dancing on the other side of the dance floor and Rossi best man dancing with his own wife only a few feet away. This was exactly what they wanted and neither man could have asked for me.
