~ First time ~
Victor meets Minako Okukawa on his first night in Hasetsu, when he wakes up from a nap and sees Yuuri talking to a very beautiful young woman. In order not to show that he is bothered by it, he focuses on the fact that he is hungry and tries to get Yuuri's attention by asking him what he likes to eat. Unfortunately this doesn't work out because it's Minako who answers, and Victor doesn't like the fact that that woman knows so much about Yuuri. Obviously, when he takes the first bite of Katsudon and exclaims 'Vkusno!', he forgets about that detail.
But when Yuuri starts to accompany Minako saying that she's going to help him get in shape, Victor wonders what it really meant.
...
And then, on a sunny afternoon where Yuuri continues to train to reduce the weight, this time accompanied by Victor and Makkachin, the question is asked.
"Yuuri, do you like Minako?"
Obviously Victor didn't expect Yuuri to trip and fall to his knees on the bench and flail his arms nervously.
"Eh? Of course not!"
"You have a lover?" Victor asks, not believing him.
"No." Yuuri says, getting shy.
"Ex-lover?" Victor insists, and is surprised when Yuuri says N-no Comment.
Oh hoh. So Yuuri and Minako have dated before. And now they are in a purely sexual relationship.
"Let's talk about me!" Victor exclaims, to undo the discomfort he's been feeling. "My first girlfriend was…"
"Stop!" Yuuri exclaims, getting nervous again.
Victor lets out a long breath, not understanding how his Yuuri can be in a relationship after having completely seduced him at the banquet in Sochi.
Thanks to Makkachin, Victor is so enchanted with Hasetsu Castle and with the fact that he is a ninja house that can't resist and takes a photo to post on Instagram, tagging Hasetsu's city.
(Obviously this gets the attention of fans and the media, but first...)
...
"Mari...san?" Victor asks, after Yuuri tells the family that he is going to Minako and leaving the onsen.
"What?" Yuuri's older sister asks coldly.
"How many years has Yuuri known Minako?"
"Since he was born." Mari responds, raising an eyebrow at him. "Why?"
"Oh I see." Victor says, getting depressing. "Minako must have been really cute when she was little."
"I guess." Mari frowns, wondering if there's been a mistake in their conversation.
(Not knowing that at that moment Victor Nikiforov is dying of jealousy of Minako for thinking he can't compete with Yuuri's Childhood Crush.)
~ Second time ~
Obviously Victor is angry that Yuuri ignored him before the short program at Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu Championship. But he's angrier because Minako Okukawa is there with the excuse of rooting for his Yuuri.
(He completely ignores the fact that Takeshi Nishigori is with her, for now.)
"Yuuri, turn around." Victor orders, arms crossed.
"Eh?" Yuuri asks, confused by what he just heard.
"Turn around, ok!" Victor says, getting even angrier.
"Hm, like that?" Yuuri turns around, holding his water bottle.
There is. I hope you are watching, Minako Okukawa. This is for you.
And Victor hugs him, making a point of keeping his Yuuri in his arms while taking several pictures of them.
"Seduce me with everything you've got. If your show manages to charm me, you'll captivate the entire audience. That's what I always say in practice, no?" He whispers in Yuuri's ear, loving to see that his face is getting flushed.
"Yes." Yuuri whispers back and walks away to start skating to On Love: Eros.
...
Obviously it doesn't seem to do any good because Minako is excitedly praising and hugging Yuuri for the result of the short program.
No. He's not jealous of the fact that Minako is hugging his Yuuri normally while he still can't even touch Yuuri without him running away right away.
"Tch. It's still not enough." Victor comments, feeling frustrated.
Nishigori, who is beside him talking to his wife about the event, looks at him in surprise but thinks he must be referring to Yuuri's program. "Is this what they call young love? It really suits them."
"What?" Nishigori asks, looking at Victor in horror.
"How can Yuuri consider Katsudon as Eros when he dates such a pretty woman?" Victor asks, startling when Takeshi suddenly chokes and starts coughing violently beside him.
"Nishigori?" Yuuri asks, approaching them along with Minako and worried about him.
After a few minutes, Takeshi Nishigori calms down to the point of saying he's fine. Since then, he starts to look at Victor strangely, deciding not to talk about it because he suspects that Victor will not believe him.
~ Third time ~
Victor invites Yuuri to dinner at a restaurant when they are at the China Cup, immediately lamenting when the Thai skater who was Yuuri's former ringmate emerges and joins them at the table, taking a seat next to Yuuri . Frustrated, Victor starts to drink, and suddenly, Yuuri's former coach appears and Victor takes the opportunity to sit next to Yuuri and get drunk to the point where he can't remember having completely undressed in front of two boys who have just finished. crying and suggestive photos of him and Yuuri have ended up on social networks.
Obviously Victor is very upset because Minako came with them to the championship and was talking all the time with Yuuri in Japanese, language that Victor at that moment was wishing to be fluent in to understand what they were talking about.
Victor gets excited because Minako is in the stands in the free show, and wonders at the fact that she is rooting for other skaters besides Yuuri. But that doesn't matter because Yuuri finished the event in first place.
Something that Victor realizes is not good the next morning, when Yuuri has dark circles on his face and is very nervous.
...
Crisis averted.
Victor thinks, after witnessing Yuuri have a panic attack that he further complicated by saying he was going to stop being his trainer and offer him a kiss to get better. Not good, Victor. Not good. Mainly because he made Yuuri cry.
At that moment, Victor learns that Yuuri's low esteem is not an easy thing to deal with since he needs Victor to believe in him more than he does. Victor doesn't understand how someone so talented and dedicated to the sport would need something like this.
Maybe Minako knows how to handle Yuuri better.
Victor shakes his head, pushing that thought away. He is Yuuri's trainer and it is his responsibility to make sure he is well enough to skate soon.
He just didn't expect his Yuuri to be able to skate with few problems and perform a Quad Flip as his final jump. The kiss was something spontaneous and his Yuuri mysteriously doesn't seem to mind, smiling along with him.
…
Okay, why the hell are Minako and Chris flirting, in front of him and Yuuri?
And why the hell does Yuuri seem to be okay with it?
"Hey Chris? Is it okay to be flirting with a woman like Minako?" Victor asks, after Yuuri and Minako walk away. "She's not even your type."
"My dear Victor, never judge the beauty of a woman by her age. Besides, I've known her for a long time." Chris responds with laughter.
Victor doesn't understand at all what he meant, and doesn’t get an answer because Josef calls Chris and walks away with him.
~ Fourth time ~
Victor is surprised to see Lilia's presence in the Rostelecom Cup. And he's even more surprised when, after his Yuuri's excellent short program score, he hears her speak Minako's name and... what?
"So he's Okukawa's favorite? Not bad." Lilia says, making Victor look at her in surprise.
"Do you know Minako, Lilia? Like, if she's much younger than you?" Victor asks her in shock.
"That woman is a witch." Lilia curses sharply in Russian. "Damn Oriental genes, capable of making any other woman jealous."
"What?" Victor asks, quite confused.
"Shut up. It's Yura's turn to skate!" Yakov exclaims, interrupting their conversation.
~ Fifth time ~
Victor is shocked.
He doesn't believe his Yuuri bought rings and placed one on the ring finger of his right hand.
He can't believe Yuuri doesn't remember what happened to him at the banquet.
Obviously, Victor declares that the two of them are going to get married after Yuuri wins the gold medal, intending to tease Minako because Yuuri put a ring on his finger, only it ends up causing a slight disagreement between the four skaters present there and Yuuri.
Ops.
Back at the hotel, Victor finally decides to question Yuuri about Minako. The response he gets…it wasn't what he was expecting.
"Minako is my ballet teacher, Victor. She taught me when I was little and it was she who suggested I become a figure skater. She was a famous ballerina and one of the recipients of the Benois de la Dance." Yuuri responds, looking at Victor in shock. "I can't believe you're just talking about it."
"But she is so young!" Victor exclaims, making Yuuri laugh so hard that he runs out of breath and holds his stomach, curling in bed.
"Oh my god, Victor! Minako-sensei is older than my mother." Yuuri says, wiping the tears that fall from his face as he laughs even harder at Victor's shocked face. "Oh my god, wait for me to tell her that."
The shock is so great that Victor sees no choice but to regret thinking that Minako and Yuuri were a couple all this time, and that everything he did to attract Yuuri's attention was for nothing.
~ Extra ~
Oh, wow. Victor Nikiforov is in front of her, bowing perfectly.
And Yuuri is beside him, covering his face with his hands and shaking... laughing.
"Teach me how to look younger, Minako-sensei." Victor asks, staying in the same position.
Yuuri, who is still laughing, looks at Minako through his fingers and ends up cringing at her gaze.
"Did you tell him?" She asks in Japanese, coolly.
"No!" Yuuri exclaims, getting horrified and waving his hands nervously. "He deducted himself, I swear!"
"Yuuri! You told me she's older than Hiroko-san!" Victor exclaims, smirking.
"Victor! You're the one who thought for months I was dating Minako-sensei!" Yuuri exclaims, and this time it's Minako who bursts out laughing, not believing what she just heard.
~ The End ~
