Summary:

It's been a long time, and Percy is more beautiful than ever.

Notes:

This is another fic that needs far more detail in, it's needs to be dragged out longer.

I've made my own canon-divergent universe where Vax'ildan doesn't die but goes into the service of the Raven Queen in Vasselheim and secludes himself away for years, and that's where most of my fics for them live.

Thanks to DigitalMoriarty for not letting me quit.

Work Text:

The invitation to Allura and Kima’s wedding is handed to Vax by one of the quiet servants of the Raven’s Crest, a young man who looks disapprovingly at him as though he shouldn’t be receiving post, and certainly not such ornate envelopes with beautiful handwriting. Vax does feel a little odd touching it, as though his fingers will sully it somehow.

The letter inside invites him to Emon six weeks from now to celebrate the joining of Allura and Kima. That’s enough time to get there, he supposes. There are airships departing every other day if not sooner. Vex will want him there. She will expect him to be there. It’s been a long time since he left the temple, preferring to let people come to him now. Vex has visited. Pike has visited. Keyleth has written. But that is all.

His sister is living in Whitestone with Percy and Taryon, because she has a title and land there, and she’s enjoying the place on the council that Percy gifted her so that he could carry on tinkering and getting lost in his own brilliant brain.

It doesn’t surprise him when, two days later, he receives a letter from Vex telling him she’ll be with him in five weeks time, and they can travel to Emon together on the airship. As though she knows that he probably won’t leave if she isn’t there with him. As though she knows his anxiety about leaving will get the better of him eventually and he’ll never make it. He also knows that she’s giving him a bit more of her time because he won’t be able to find nice things to wear on his own, and he’d just turn up in his vestments if he was left to his own devices, so she’ll take him shopping.

He’s right. On all counts. Except that Vex turns up with a few different outfits for him and doesn’t make him leave the temple to try anything on. The travel to Emon is going to be bad enough as it is. And Vax appreciates just how well she still knows him even after all this time living apart. They have time to catch up, and on the journey Vax finds himself really looking forward to seeing his friends again. He feels the strange swell of excitement in his chest that he hasn’t felt for years since they all went their own ways. He hasn’t seen them all for so long. He hasn’t seen the world outside of Vasselheim for so long. And as Emon appears in the distance to greet them he is overwhelmed by how beautiful everything is.

In Vex’s descriptors of everyone and their comings and goings, she apparently forgot to mention just how fucking good Percy looks now. It’s enough to make Vax stumble when he steps into the incredibly ornate hall that has been chosen for the wedding and sees his old friend in the entryway with Taryon. The way Percy’s shirt is straining against his muscles is almost alarming. Taryon’s hand is on Percy’s arm, they’re deep in conversation despite living together and, according to Vex, spending much of their time alone working on things.

Maybe Tary finally got his man.

The tiny bloom of pain that follows that realisation is quelled when Percy turns his head and looks towards Vax, his face lighting up in the most brilliant smile.

“Vax'ildan!” Percy beams, stepping towards him, his shirt looking as though every movement is going to burst the seams. “It’s so wonderful to see you!” He does seem genuinely pleased. Vax believes him.

“You too,” Vax nods, breathless, and wishing he’d chosen something more elaborate than the nice black tunic and robe set that he had picked from the selection his sister had brought him. Because he doesn’t look like anything special, and Percy looks- incredible . “It’s been a while.”

“It’s been too long,” Percy replies quietly, gazing at Vax with such warmth in his eyes that Vax almost says something else, almost compliments him, but then Tary is there at Percy’s side, full of his own happiness at seeing Vax and it’s been so long and how’s the god work?

Keyleth is a welcome distraction when she arrives, because everyone’s attention turns to her. She looks beautiful, like she’s really settled into her role as leader, and though she and Vax share a moment, a hug and a greeting full of their fondness for each other, she is soon deep in conversation with Percy, catching up with her best friend. Vax doesn’t begrudge any of them their closeness, they’ve kept in touch, they have things to talk about. He’s glad for them. They all glow with their life.

He’s taking his seat in the hall when he sees Gilmore at the side of the room, talking to some of the other guests. There’s the smallest twinge around his heart, the what could have beens rising up to choke him, but they don’t get far this time. Gilmore is beaming. He looks as glorious as he ever has, his ornate purple robes probably almost as beautiful as whatever Allura is going to be dressed in. At his side stands J’mon Sa Ord, their arm linked though Gilmore’s, looking regal and stunning in long, chocolate brown robes. They look at Gilmore with such adoration, there’s so much love in their expression that Vax can’t even feel sad for what he’s lost. He’s glad for Shaun. And J’mon obviously knows how blessed they are to be with him.

Vex sits down beside him, patting his leg. “Are you going to talk to him?”

“Oh, of course. After the ceremony,” Vax nods. “I’d like to catch up with him. He seems happy.”

“He really is. It’s quite disgusting,” Vex laughs. “He’s got a store in Whitestone now. The one here is doing really well. If you come and visit us more often then you can see him more, and you won’t have to spend hours finding out what’s been going on.”

“I have you for that,” Vax responds fondly. “You keep me up to date with everyone.”

“I don’t tell it with as much flare as he will, though. Nor Keyleth. Nor Percy.”

“You just have such a way with words, though,” Vax laughs. “I’ll miss your catty asides and your disapproving comments-”

“I have never-!” Vex begins to protest, just as the master of ceremonies steps up to the front of the room and calls for silence. Vex continues to glare at him, but it’s gentle and fond beneath.

Allura is, of course, stunning, and Kima, standing at the front of the room, looks as though she really can’t believe her luck right now. In the row of seats in front of them Taryon is already crying, Percy’s hand resting between his shoulder blades and patting gently.

The Raven Queen’s temple doesn’t host weddings, and Vax feels as though he’s in a whole new world right now, and it’s wondrous. He feels so much love for everyone around him as they celebrate two of their dearest friends together, and he can see why Tary is emotional. He can also see the muscles of Percy’s back moving beneath his shirt.

“Shaun, hello,” Vax smiles at his old friend as everyone mills around after the ceremony dancing and drinking, glad of the warmth in Gilmore’s smile as he turns to see who is greeting him.

“Vax’ildan! Hello, gorgeous. How wonderful to see you again,” Gilmore greets him, pulling him into a hug that is so fucking good. He smells amazing, his body is still so firm but soft, he embraces like Vax is a lifeline. “Every time I come to Whitestone I hope you’ll be there, but you never are.”

“Perhaps you should think of opening a store in Vasselheim, hm?” Vax suggests.

Gilmore laughs. “Oh, I don’t know if they’d appreciate me and all of my arcane trickery there. But perhaps I’ll make the effort to come and visit,” he adds, his hand staying on Vax’s arm.

“I’d like that. But don’t let me pull you away from J’mon,” Vax smiles, glancing over the room to where J’mon is talking to Percy and Vex. Percy has undone the top two buttons of his shirt, he’s leaning casually against the wall, and he looks so fucking good.

“J’mon is terribly busy most of the time, we get a lot of time away from each other,” Gilmore says, turning his head to follow Vax’s gaze. He pauses there, then glances back with a curious expression. “Perhaps you should ask Percy if he wants to dance?”

“Hm?” Vax’s attention snaps back to Gilmore. “Percy? No. Why?” he flusters.

“Because I’ve seen that look on your face before,” Gilmore replies gently. “And I know you aren’t looking at J’mon like that, gorgeous though they are.”

“There’s no point,” Vax shrugs, though not hard enough to dislodge Gilmore’s hand. “Why would he agree? And I’m not going to get anything out of it aside from being pressed up against him for a few minutes.”

“He does look delicious, that’s a good motivation,” Gilmore nods, glancing over again. “But you should ask because you both should have a little fun , don’t you think?”

This time Vax laughs. “Percy is straight, Shaun.” Even if Vax is still wondering whether he and Tary are more than friends now.

Gilmore looks at him as though he thinks Vax is having him on, as though he’s waiting for Vax to say he’s joking. But Vax just gazes back at him with growing confusion.

“Vax, darling, Percy likes men,” Gilmore says slowly. “I thought you knew and you just- I don’t know. Maybe he wasn’t your type,” he shrugs.

Vax continues to stare at him. Of course he trusts Gilmore’s opinion on these things, Gilmore has a lot more experience than he does. He just doesn’t know how he could have spent so much time with Percy and not realised.

“Is this a new development?” he asks softly, despite already knowing the answer.

Gilmore shakes his head, his brow knitted in a frown. “No, darling. I’ve known since I met him.”

Vax blinks, then nods his head slowly in acceptance.

“Talk to him, yes?” Gilmore says gently, squeezing Vax’s arm. “Be happy, Vax’ildan.”

Vax, of course, takes his own sweet time getting around to talking to Percy. The evening is drawing in and he’s been subjected to drunken cuddles from nearly all of his other friends. But Percy doesn’t seem to be making a move to approach him, so Vax has to be the one to do it. Whatever the move pans out to be.

“Hey, Freddy.”

Percy’s face lights up as it had done the first time, and Vax has to wonder why he hasn’t spoken to him sooner.

“Hey, Vax. I was wondering if I should come and talk to you,” Percy says, moving closer to him, standing very much in Vax’s personal space. “I figured you might not...I don’t know. I didn’t want to put too much on you. It’s been so long since any of us saw you.”

“You should know you’re one of the few people I always want to see,” Vax teases, feeling warmth rising into his cheeks, which isn’t helped by his proximity to Percy now, a proximity that allows him to see just how attractive Percy is. Not that Vax had forgotten exactly, but it’s just ridiculous. His jaw is covered in stubble, his hair is slightly messier than it was earlier in the day. His eyes are clear and happy, so much happier than Vax remembers them being before. He’s relaxed. He’s put his demons to bed.

He’s gorgeous.

“You flatter me,” Percy replies softly. “There’s always a place for you in Whitestone, you know that don’t you? A home, and the temple. When you decide-” he stops.

“When I decide what?” Vax asks, genuinely interested, though Percy looks like he’s put his foot in it. He wants to know what Percy has been thinking. About him.

Percy pauses for a moment longer, not breaking eye contact. “When you decide you’ve served your penance,” he replies, never afraid to be honest. “I want you to come home.”

It’s the second time tonight that Vax feels as though the wind has been punched out of him. He catches his breath again and doesn’t know what to say, so goes with the first thing that comes to mind.

“Your shirt is incredibly tight, Percival. Couldn’t you afford to get something more fitting?”

Percy laughs out loud, his hand touching Vax’s cheek gently. “You look really good as well, Vax,” he grins. “I’ve missed you so much.”

“You should be careful, I swore a vow of abstinence, having you like this is very tempting,” Vax teasing, risking laying his hand against Percy’s chest now that he knows he probably can, now that he can see clearly that Percy’s teasing could be flirtation.

“It’s such a pity to deprive so many people,” Percy replies, looking Vax slowly up and down as though he can see through the less-than-glamorous outfit to Vax’s body underneath. Maybe he just remembers what Vax looks like. Maybe he’s thought about it.

“Darling, I think you’re the one depriving people,” Vax winks, moving his hand slowly over Percy’s chest, feeling his pectoral muscle beneath his shirt. “Unless you’re stripping in the taverns of Whitestone every night? In which case I will come home sooner.”

Percy’s smile softens, his fingers tucking strands of hair behind Vax’s ear, and though he’s sure it’s unnecessary, the touch is still nice. And there’s a blush creeping into Percy’s cheeks.

“You can have a preview later, if you’d like,” he says quietly, meeting Vax’s eyes once again. “I’m staying at the keep-”

Vax doesn’t get a chance to reply before Kima is standing up at the top table and tapping her tankard with her sword to call attention to her and the speeches that are to follow. It doesn’t seem like the right moment to discuss how he really does want Percy to strip for him, maybe right here and now, so he draws back.

“We’ll talk after,” Vax whispers, patting Percy’s chest, slipping away to try and find his sister, because he needs time to think, he needs to know if he can deal with one night with Percy to keep him satisfied for the rest of his life-

He does his best to listen to the speeches, because Kima and Allura deserve every wonderful word spoken about them, but his mind is on Percy, on the way he can still feel the other man’s chest under his hand. On the offer he was made.

Kima and Allura get up to dance once more, a slow dance for just the two of them, and the yearning to feel arms around him that way makes his choice seem obvious. He wants Percy pressed against him, if only for a little while.

He watches from his seat whilst Percy and Keyleth dance together, watches them laugh and sees the fondness between them, sees the difference in the way Percy looks at her to the way he looked at him earlier. After Keyleth he dances with Vex, and Vax is sure that he’s going to see something in the way Percy looks at her because, after all, they’re identical twins. But again Percy seems just light and happy, he keeps his hands on Vex’s hips and they chat and they laugh.

When Percy dances with Taryon Vax sees the difference immediately. He sees the fondness in Percy’s expression, but he also sees the way he gently pats the side of Tary’s face, his arms draped over the other man’s shoulders when they’d been on the waist of his lady friends, the way their conversation is more muted, the way Percy laughs softly and ducks his head, resting it against Taryon’s shoulder with intimacy and familiarity.

Vax doesn’t know why they aren’t together. Or maybe they are and this will just be a one time thing, he and Percy. One of those free passes, to tie up those loose ends that Vax is starting to realise exist.

He’s debating just walking out and going to the keep, forgetting the whole thing, when Percy is standing there in front of him.

“I think it’s time you and I had a dance, don’t you?” Percy asks, holding out his hand.

Vax takes it before he gives himself the chance to think about it and back out, letting Percy pull him to his feet and lead him to the dancefloor.

He doesn’t tell Percy he was just thinking about going back to the keep, of pretending nothing had happened between them, of just taking the memory of Percy’s chest and the flirtation with him back to Vasselheim for the rest of his life. He doesn’t have time to, anyway, because he’s pressed up against that chest, his arms wound loosely around Percy’s broad shoulders whilst Percy’s hands move slowly up and down Vax’s back, skimming close to the curve of his arse before drifting up again.

And Percy smells incredible. He’s gazing at Vax as Vax finds his footing, as he gets used to being so close before he can look up and meet Percy’s eyes.

“Is Taryon okay with us being alone together later?” Vax asks, stroking his fingers up Percy’s throat, his thumb grazing over the other man’s stubbled jaw.

Percy looks surprised, and rather confused. “What do you mean?”

“The two of you look close,” Vax replies quietly, looking at Percy’s perfect lips, at the way the tip of his tongue is barely visible as it wets them.

“We are,” Percy agrees. “But I told him a long time ago that I wasn’t over you yet.”

Vax’s eyes widen. “And you think that this will help you get over me?” That seems like a reasonable assumption.

But Percy shakes his head, gripping Vax’s hips firmly. “No. I think it’s going to make it worse.”

“So- what will you do?” Vax asks, even as his fingers slide up into Percy’s hair.

“I’ll wait for you to come home,” Percy replies, as though it’s just that easy. His hands come to rest on Vax’s backside, his grip firm and thrilling. “I want to take you to bed tonight, Vax’ildan. But I understand if you don’t want that.”

“I do,” Vax says quickly, absolutely smitten with the way that Percy tips his head into the touch of his fingers. “I really do, Percy. I’m going to need us to go slow, though. It’s been a very, very long time since I was last with anyone-” and Percy is a big guy. In every aspect.

“We can go slow,” Percy agrees, his brilliant smile returning in full force. “It would be a pleasure to remind you how good it can be.”

“I know it’s going to be good, darling. It’s you,” Vax whispers, smiling back, touching their noses together. “How could it not be?”

“We have to wait for Kima and Allura to leave,” Percy murmurs, grazing his lips over Vax’s in not quite a kiss. “Otherwise I’d drag you home right now.”

Vax has never heard so much desire directed towards him, and it’s incredible. It goes right through him and settles on top of the heat already building in his belly.

“Let’s hope Kima’s just as keen to get to somewhere private as you are,” Vax replies, as though he isn’t just as excited, as though he isn’t so incredibly impatient and desperate to have Percy naked and pressed against him. Because right now even through their clothes it’s immense, it’s exciting, it’s turning Vax on, but it could only be better when there was nothing between them.

For now this will have to do, though. For now slow dancing with their lips not quite touching is going to have to do. Percy goes to get them drinks at one point, and Vax takes the time to breathe and calm himself down, catching Gilmore’s eye from where the other man is sat across the room. Gilmore gives him a wink and a little thumbs up, and Vax’s smile almost hurts for how wide it is.

When he and Percy sit, Percy’s hand rests on his thigh, a gentle but firm grip on it, and Vax is so full of joy it’s difficult for him to hold a conversation, even with his sister and Keyleth, both of whom are looking at him with knowing expressions on their faces.

Vax is getting laid.

But proximity to Percy is just winding him tighter and tighter as they wait for the wedding to come to a close, and he feels as though he’s about to explode from anticipation. His cock is half hard, and he honestly thinks he’s going to be fully there when the master of ceremonies gathers everyone together to bid the brides farewell for the night.

All of them are staying at the keep, so Vax and Percy don’t have to waste time saying goodbye to their friends. By this point all of them know what’s going on, and a breezy wave is all that’s needed as they take their leave and head off home, arriving in incredibly good time for having had to wend their ways through the streets of Emon.

Despite the rush back, as soon as they reach Percy’s room everything slows down. Vax’s heart is still hammering wildly, but Percy does as he promised and takes it slowly. First he kisses Vax, leaning in to brush their lips together softly, a ghost of a touch until Vax deepens it. It’s been a long time since he kissed someone too, but he knows that it’s because of Percy that it’s so good. The first touch of their lips feels like electricity running through him, and when their tongues slide together Vax physically trembles. His fingers return to Percy’s hair, wrapping around him to keep himself steady, and Percy’s roaming hands certainly provide a bit of stability.

Vax has never been kissed this way. He’s never felt as though someone is hungry for him the way Percy seems to be. He helps Vax out of his robes and then hangs them up before getting to work on the tunic, taking his time to pull it out from where it’s tucked into Vax’s pants, their lips still moving over each other.

All of Vax’s skin is tingling, desperate for some real contact, to feel Percy’s fingers against it, but he does appreciate the care. He appreciates that at every turn Percy is giving him the opportunity to stop.

Vax lifts up his arms to let Percy undress him, their kisses stopping for a second, and he is so unprepared for the look he gets, for the desire in Percy’s gaze and the flush that creeps up into his cheeks as he looks over Vax’s body.

“You like what you see?” Vax asks to break the silence, because it’s weighing on him.

Percy looks up as though he hadn’t realised he was staring, grinning back. “More than I remembered,” he whispers, beginning to unbutton his own shirt. And now it’s Vax’s turn to stare, drinking in every little bit of skin that is revealed to him.

Percy’s muscles are incredibly well defined, his pecs and his abs and his shoulders are just a dream. Vax wants to touch, and as the fabric is shrugged from Percy’s arms he does so, stroking them slightly over his chest, through the light coating of pale hair and then down towards his belly. The scars from Ripley’s gun are evident even on his already white skin, and lower on his torso the light catches on the longer, nastier scars from when Raishan had taken his life.

Vax touches the areas with reverence, grateful for the fact that Percy was brought back to him each time.

In turn Percy finally touches him, his strong hands moving over Vax’s bare shoulders and down his arms, then to his hips, every inch of skin craving his touch.

“We don’t have to have sex tonight,” Percy says quietly. “Not if you don’t feel as though you’re ready.”

“I’m ready, Percival. I just need you to be gentle. Especially considering what you’re wielding,” Vax teases, one hand dropping between Percy’s legs, cupping him through his pants. He loves the way Percy’s hips push forward, pressing into Vax’s touch. It makes him feel desired, it makes him feel as though he’s doing something right. He begins on the fastenings, eager to get Percy naked as soon as possible.

Percy mirrors Vax’s movement and pulls at the fastenings of his pants, his fingers brushing over Vax’s erection in a way that is just a painful tease until there’s nothing more between the two of them but air.

Percy has the nicest cock Vax has ever seen. And there’s so many things he wants to do to it. First, though, he wants to be pressed against Percy, but that is being drawn out, he’s being made to wait as he’s led by the hand to the side of the bed.

“Is there anything you prefer? Anything you really want? A position you like?” Percy queries as Vax shuffles back onto the bed that is cool against his flushed skin.

“I want to be able to see you,” Vax replies. “But other than that you can do as you want to me.”

Percy grins, kneeling up on the bed at Vax’s feet and looking very pleased with himself. “I need to tell you, Vax, I really like using my mouth.”

Vax’s eyebrows raise. “It doesn’t seem convenient for a man who works with tiny objects to have an oral fixation,” he says.

Percy shrugs his shoulders, still looking far too pleased with himself. His fingers dance over Vax’s knees and obediently Vax spreads his legs, making space for Percy between them, though the other man is so broad they’re going to ache when they’re done. Hopefully that won’t be the only thing that aches.

“So, I’d kind of like to go down on you whilst I’m opening you up,” Percy continues, his fingers sliding down the inside of Vax’s thighs, making him shiver and spread them further. “Good boy,” Percy adds with a nod, and isn’t that the sweetest fucking thing.

“I think I can cope with that,” Vax replies. Percy’s eyes are fixed between his legs, and Vax returns the gesture, gazing at his thick, darkening cock.

Percy looks up at him and smiles. “Stop me if you ever need to,” he says sincerely, before he lowers his head and licks his way up Vax’s erection.

Vax cries out and arches up, his fingers flying into Percy’s hair and holding on tight, which seems to please Percy because he moans and takes Vax fully into his mouth, swallowing him down in one go until his lips are pressed against the base. Vax’s eyes roll back at the pleasure and he thinks he might just die right here.

Percy has barely settled before he pulls off again, pushing against Vax’s fingers to move away, reaching into the drawer beside his bed. He says nothing, he does nothing more than put a vial beside his knee, and then he’s on Vax again, deep throating him like he does this every day. Vax doesn’t even care if that’s true, because right now in this moment Percy is deep throating him , and that’s all he wants.

Vax relaxes. He lets Percy take care of him. He lets himself get lost in the way the heat of Percy’s mouth feels around his dick.

It surprises him, therefore, when he feels a slick, warm finger pressing against his entrance. It really has been a long time, he hasn’t even touched himself like this, but he remembers how good it feels and now he is desperate to feel it again. Percy is still careful, he’s still gentle, circling and pressing in a little bit at a time whilst his mouth moves slowly up and down Vax’s cock. Vax can hear his own ragged breathing and the moans that slip out with every slight stretch, and he’s dizzy with arousal.

“Percy,” Vax sighs the other man’s name, his fingers resting in the soft white hair as Percy’s head moves. He sighs it just to hear it, to acknowledge for himself that this is the man who is cranking up the pleasure for him, making Vax almost delirious, and they haven’t even gotten to the really good bit yet.

A second finger makes him cry out louder, the ache of the stretch making stars burst behind his eyes. He feels the heat around his cock slip away as Percy draws off, lifting his eyes to look at Vax.

“Are you okay?” he asks, his voice rough. Rough because Vax’s cock has been down his throat. That’s so incredibly hot.

Vax nods his head, squirming on the bed, wanting to feel more of everything, though he does appreciate that Percy is trying so hard to not overstimulate him. The two fingers press in and stretch slightly, opening Vax up, making pleasure curl in all of Vax’s nerves.

“Don’t stop-” he manages to reply, rocking down onto Percy, falling into the rhythm with the press in, the stretch, the gentle, slight withdrawal. He can feel Percy watching him, too, though he isn’t sure if he can look himself without it tipping him over the edge. His contact with Percy’s head gives him the warning he needs as the other man moves, lowering his lips to Vax’s cock once more.

He melts into the bed when Percy’s mouth joins in properly, moving in tandem with his fingers and driving Vax crazy. It’s winding him tightly and he knows he should tell Percy to stop, he knows he should ask him to hit the pause button because otherwise he’s going to come too soon, but at the same time he just wants to. He wants that release, he wants to show Percy how good he is, how much Vax wants him.

And he wants to feel Percy fucking into his blissed out body.

Perhaps that’s Percy’s plan too, because he’s unrelenting, pushing his fingers in deep as he takes Vax down his throat, stretching them out, brushing dangerously close to Vax’s prostate. Vax is crying out louder and louder with each movement, feeling his muscles gripping Percy’s fingers tighter until he’s shaking and coming into Percy’s mouth, which closes tighter around him as though he’s frightened of missing out on any of it. And that makes Vax feel so incredibly sexy.

He relaxes completely, his limbs feeling heavy, everything so perfectly sated. Everything in the world feels so good, Vax should have had an orgasm sooner.

He laughs, breathing hitching as Percy’s lips slide off of him. “Wow. Wow, Percy. Wo-fuck,” Vax breaks off when Percy curls his fingers inside him again, another shock of pleasure rolling through Vax.

“I’m not done with you yet,” Percy purrs. “Do you need to rest?”

“No,” Vax replies immediately, absolutely sure of himself. “No. I want more now.”

This time Percy laughs, but it’s so soft and fond, Vax feels warm all over.

“I’ve been looking forward to this,” the other man says quietly, turning his head to kiss Vax’s thigh. “I really hope this won’t be the last time.”

Vax looks at him, reaching out his fingers to cup Percy’s jaw. “It won’t be,” he says sincerely, feeling how wide Percy smiles and wondering what he’s done to be so worthy of such warmth.

Percy moves up the bed, pushing Vax’s thighs further apart to accommodate his hips, Percy’s cock drags over Vax’s belly on his way up to press their lips together again. All of Vax is still tingling, every inch of his skin hypersensitive, and he’s shivering again, satisfied but greedy and wanting more.

Bracing his weight on one arm, Percy reaches down between them and presses the head of his cock against Vax’s now slick entrance, thicker than his fingers had been. “Is this okay?” he whispers, teasing Vax mercilessly with the slight pressure.

“Yes, please,” Vax nods, drawing Percy down for a kiss, slow and wanting, his legs spreading further to open himself up and a purr rumbling in his chest as Percy pushes in carefully.

The stretch feels incredible.

“Percy, Percy-” Vax chants his name softly, his body so sensitive from his orgasm it’s ramping everything up to eleven, and it would be too much were it not for the way Percy is kissing him so gently and inching his way inside.

“You’re so tight, Vax,” Percy whispers the praise and, crass as it is, Vax feels it bloom in his chest. He so rarely got praised as a child, and any victories with Vox Machina were shared. He certainly doesn’t get any at the temple. He loves it. He loves knowing he did something good, something that pleases Percy.

He wonders if that is far too obvious in his expression, because as Percy bottoms out he presses gentle kisses to the corners of Vax’s mouth.

“You feel amazing, darling. I’m so lucky,” Percy murmurs, and it’s almost too much, it almost makes Vax cry were it not for the fact that Percy starts to move almost immediately. And his cock has a deeper reach than his fingers, so where they were so close to his prostate Percy now rubs against it shamelessly as he draws out and slides back in with a purr.

Vax feels all of the nerves in his body light up, and he hears himself gasp as pleasure jolts through him. Percy’s arms are bracketed around him now, his body covering Vax, making him feel safe and secure, small beneath those broad shoulders and big muscles. Their lips brush together in the sweetest kisses Vax has ever received.

He slides his arms around those shoulders, feeling the flexing beneath his hands as Percy moves, feeling the way the other man’s lips curl into a smile against his cheek. Vax toys with the little hairs on the back of Percy’s neck, all of their contact so tender, so loving even with the solid thrusts that make stars burst behind his eyes again.

Percy makes the loveliest noises, growling softly with every movement as though it’s just too good for him to keep quiet. And that’s fine by Vax because he feels as though every atom of his body is alight with the pleasure. He draws in deep breaths that only seem to fuel that fire, and it seems impossible but he can feel a second orgasm building.

“Don’t stop, Percy,” he whispers, as if there’s any risk of that.

“I won’t. I need you,” Percy replies softly, like that’s the most obvious answer. One of those big hands moves down to Vax’s thigh, lifting it up slightly, guiding it to rest high on his ribs to draw Percy deeper.

Vax lets out a long, shuddering moan, the pleasure spirally rapidly inside him.

“I think I’m going to come again,” Vax whimpers, feeling a gentle rumble of Percy’s laugh.

“I would love it if you did,” Percy replies, his own voice slightly strained, his hips moving more erratically.

Vax pets his fingers through Percy’s hair, letting himself sink into the pleasure, letting Percy give him everything, to consume him.

Percy is waiting for him to come. Vax doesn’t let him down, crying out loud again as the pleasure crests and pours over him stronger than before, his body shaking and clenching around Percy who groans quietly and fucks deep into Vax before stilling, breathing heavily against Vax’s throat.

Vax keeps his arms around him, unwilling to let go just yet, unwilling to leave the comfort of this embrace.

It doesn’t have to be the last time. The offer is there from Percy.

“Do you still want me to come home?” he asks when he’s lowered his legs and when Percy has pulled out and is at Vax’s side, holding him close. Perhaps it was enough, perhaps one time was enough for Percy. But the look on the other man’s face tells Vax that’s absolutely not the case before the words are even out of his mouth.

“Nothing would make me happier,” Percy replies. “You can have your own room if you want one, of course. You can have whatever space you want. If you’d like the temple expanded-”

“Percy-” Vax touches his fingers to Percy’s lips. “Space beside you is all I need.”

Percy’s face lights up in a smile so bright Vax has to catch his breath. “Then you shall have it. For as long as you want it.”

“For the rest of your life?” Vax asks, half teasing but half very hopeful.

“That sounds perfect,” Percy replies.

Notes:

Written for a pride month prompt 'Weddings'. The full table of my pride month prompts can be found here and will be populated as I go over the next couple of weekends, and also includes the Taliesin/Liam fics that I'm not posting to AO3.

24 fics in a month was a lot of work, so I apologise if they're not all that polished. Look out for more spam from me coming soon!

Take care of yourselves, and be kind to each other.
