Work Text:
A soft patter of little feet. Whispers.
“Children, get to bed” James ushered his children back into bed. He picked up his only daughter, Stephine, and held his eldest son’s, Vinnie, hand, and led them into the room. He set Stephine, gently, on her bed and picked Vinnie up, doing the same with him.
“Dad?” Evan’s voice grabbed his attention, his son just waking up from the hallway light. Evan’s always been a light sleeper.
“Sorry, Evan, go back to sleep” James walked over to his son’s bedside, pressing a light kiss on his smallest, but not youngest, son’s head. Evan sleepily nodded, rolling back over, and pressing his face into the pillows.
James’s eyes looked over his children. Evan, his troublemaker of a son. Stephine, she’s really into art and loves hanging with Evan the most. Vinnie, the oldest, but not the tallest, and tries to keep the peace among himself and his siblings. Jeff, the tallest of the four and the most courageous of them all.
Sighing softly, James exited his children’s room, entering his own and going back to sleep.
