Janus had a lot of responsibility and stress to deal with. He didn't remember the last time he slept, let alone slept well. He barely ate and after giving up his name he was worse than ever.
So it was no surprise he dropped.
It was a surprise when both Remus AND Virgil showed up to check on him.
They walked in to find him curled up crying into his pillow. He was wearing a plain black tshirt and gray sweatpants. He looked up as they entered his room after knocking with no response. "Dee?" Remus asked.
Janus just cried harder and the two quickly moved over to comfort him. Remus pulling the little into his lap and Virgil going to find his two headed snake stuffed and pacifier. "What's wrong?" Remus asked as he rocked Janus gently.
Janus shrugged too young to explain the stress and frustration. "Lot."
"Is it too much?" Virgil asked as he handed him the items he found in the closet. Janus nodded. "Big is hard!"
"I know baby snake, but you don't have to be big right now. You can be little and take a break. " Remus said rubbing circles on Janus' back calming him.
Janus hummed around the paci in his mouth. "Tay?"
Virgil climbed up on the bed next to him. "Of course we'll stay." Virgil promised taking one of Janus' hands and giving it a squeeze.
"Promise not mad?" Janus asked taking his paci out.
"Why would I be mad?" Virgil asked.
Janus teared up, "cause you don't like me anymore." Virgil's face fell.
He pulled Janus into a tight hug. "We may have our problems when you're big but I will never take that out on little you."
Janus didn't look happy but nodded anyways. "Mmm."
Janus yawned his eyes drooping and he leaned his head on Remus' shoulder.
"You want to sleep?" Remus asked noticing the dark circles under his eyes.
Janus' eyes flew open, "NO!" He sat up looking between them panicked. "Don't go!"
Remus and Virgil looked at each other as they set about comforting him. The little grabbing onto to the two of them with shaky hands and holding on like his life depended on it. "How about we go to living room?" Remus asked already picking him up. Janus nodded his breathing still fast.
Remus sat down on the couch and let Janus curl up against him. Virgil sat down and held Janus' hand. "Are you sure you don't want to talk?"
Janus looked down sniffing. "Is...I bad?"
"A bit." Remus said causing Virgil to scowl at him. "But everyone is a little bad."
"Even so we'll be here for you." Virgil said. Janus looked at him confused.
"Lyin?"
Virgil's hand tightened around Janus'. "No, I'm not lying." He said softly. "And I promise when you are bigger we will talk about everything."
Janus took a breath and relaxed. 'Ok." He reached for his paci which Virgil handed over. He popped it in his mouth. "Nap?"
Virgil chuckled, "Of course." Remus said grabbing a blanket and draping it over all of them. Janus was out in seconds.
