   Summary

   Aiden’s no fool, so he’s never invoked the Law of Surprise before. But he’s still a Cat, so instead he does something arguably worse: he makes a Gods’ Promise. Now all alone, having clawed his second life out by the skin of his teeth, the gods have finally seen fit to have him fulfill his end of the bargain.

   OR: Aiden loses everything, but then he gains two little somethings, and clumsily learns how to scrape together a family out of the ashes in the process.
