Chapter Text
Lena remained in Kara’s apartment for the rest of the night. Kara explains her morning encounter with Gispie, as well as her late morning revelation. Lena explains her own encounter with the imp, including watching the vhs tapes. The two continue talking all through the night, and kissing now and again.
By sunrise the two are cuddled together on Kara’s couch, wrapped up in Kara’s crimson cape. It took most of the night but they have decided what to do next. They love each other and will try their best to make a go of it like any other couple. Lena finally falls asleep snuggled tightly against Kara’s chest.
With deft fingers and superhuman grace, Kara draws her phone from there entwined bodies. At first she intends to simply send a group text to all of the superfriends. After three attempts at the text, she instead decides on a single text to each of the group. She includes the same basic information to all of them, though customizes each text.
To Alex it’s a very informal and sisterly message. To Kelly it is more formal but maintains the theme of the message to Alex. For Brainy like most of her texts to him it is short and to the point. With Nia it contains more emojis than are entirely necessary. The message to J’onn is more akin to a message to a father. With M’gann the message is something between Alex and Brainy, direct but with added warmth. The messages tell everyone to meet at the watchtower at noon. She has something important to say.

Kara enters the watchtower with her arms full of Big Belly Burger bags and drink carriers. The assembled Superfriends expecting bad news, are borderline shocked when Lena opens the doors for Kara and her fast food banquet. As everyone is encouraged to dig on, Kara and Lena sit back and eat nervously.
The group have a variety of small conversations as they eat. Each of them is aware that this is the first time the entire group has gathered together for anything less than a crisis since Kara returned from the Phantom Zone. By the height of the meal, the group has returned to the jovial found family that they remember in the best of times.
When the meal is finished, it is M’gann, who asks the question that everyone else is afraid to. “Not that we don’t appreciate lunch, but that can’t be the only reason you called us all here.”
“Yeah.” Chimes in Nia, still enjoying her s’more milkshake. “What’s the matter?”
“Nothing.” Calls out Kara, almost too dismissive. “What I mean is, nothing is wrong. In fact something is very, very, right.”
Alex and Kelly share a knowing glance, before locking their eyes back on the two standing women. The rest of the group remain more oblivious, with Brainy being particularly intrigued.
“With everything that has happened over this last year and especially over the last few months, we have both come to realize that we love each other.” Announces Lena with a soft chuckle, as Kara places her right hand over Lena’s.
“And we are going to see where this goes.” Finish’s Kara, beaming her smile to the entire group.
The entire group erupts in to a flurry of cheers and congratulations. Alex proceeds to discreetly slip Nia a folded bill, while J’onn accepts one from M’gann. Kara and Lena hug tightly as the group approach the two to ask questions. Lena steps to the side to hug it out with Alex and Kelly, and Kara focuses her attention on Nia and Brainy.
“This may come as a shock Brainy,” begins Kara feeling the need to explain the situation.
Brainy nonchalantly interrupts her explanation. “Not at all. In fact I have been awaiting this day since first I came to stay in this time.”
“Brainy, what do you mean?” Asks Nia, as the room slowly grows quiet.
“It’s simple, I am from the future and I have done extensive research on Supergirl.” His voice both affectionate and professional as he explains. “I have always known that Kara and Lena would get married, but due to the instabilities inherent in becoming involved in past events, the exact date has been, ever shifting.”
Everyone in the room looks around after Brainy’s unexpected revelation. “Should I have said something sooner?”
“You have been here for three years, and in all of that time when ever we speculated about those two,” Alex points exaggeratedly at Kara and Lena. “You never said a word. And you knew the entire time that they are going to get married?”
“I thought this was an elaborate matting ritual?!? Romantic Comedies are quite clear when it comes to mutually oblivious attraction.”
