Work Text:
It was a long mission. There were five of them, all gathering information, working together but separately. They had been away from Konoha for almost nine weeks, spending their time undercover in the land of Sound. To make sure the intel would reach the village they were now heading home separately.
Kakashi wondered how the others were doing. They had no reason to think they had been compromised, but still. None of them had any documents with them – all the information they had gathered was simply memorized.
Kakashi had it easier than the others, of course. He had memorized most things with his Sharingan, which was now covered with an eyepatch. His usually ruffled hair was combed back neatly, and his face was covered by a large collar. He was in civilian clothes; If anybody would ask, he was going to visit a distant relative who wasn’t doing well health wise.
He was traveling light, but with necessary gear. He had armory hidden in deep pockets or disguised as everyday objects. As the summer sun started to set, he set his camp and wondered if Tenzou had reached his camping location already – he should be somewhere near him, maybe ten kilometres west. The night was warm and Kakashi hadn’t seen anybody else in long time. He set a camp in a safe spot, deep into the forest near a river.
As he was done setting elaborate and indistinguishable traps around his surroundings, he set up a fire and cooked small meal. He sighed in contentment. Few days more, and he would be home. He felt safe and relieved in the forest that was filled with birds still singing and small animals rustling around him. If any of that would stop, he would be in trouble, but as long as the life in the forest went on, he was okay.
After eating he decided he should sleep. He put up a small canvas – not really a tent, as it would be harder to escape from, but a small shelter from wind or rain, although he doubted there was going to be any. He went through his backpack routinely to make sure everything was in order when his fingers brushed against paper.
An envelope.
It was tucked neatly in a small pocket that Kakashi didn’t use, so he hadn’t noticed it earlier. He took it out and frowned. It was thick, full of paper.
There was no text on the envelope, but Kakashi guessed it was from Iruka. He sometimes left small notes in his pockets for him to find during missions. They were short notes like Come home safe or Love you or See you soon. Kakashi thought it was sweet.
How come he had missed this?
He opened the envelope. There was another envelope inside – this one had text on it.
Only open when you are safe and sound. DO NOT OPEN if you are not. DO NOT OPEN IN CASE OF EMERGENCY.
Kakashi smiled. Definitely Iruka. He recognized the neat handwriting, but it was also so like him to worry that Kakashi would be so absorbed in a letter that he would die.
He opened the second envelope and found a third one inside.
You safe?
Kakashi almost laughed out loud. Damn he missed home. Nine weeks wasn’t the longest mission he had had during his shinobi years, not by far, but it was since he and Iruka started dating a few months ago. It had been a long time since he would get homesick on a mission like this. Right now nine weeks felt like eternity and he was even happier to know he was already heading home.
He opened the final envelope and took out a stack of papers. His name was nowhere in sight, no stamps, no mention of their village – if an enemy would find the letter, it wouldn’t tell anything vital.
Hi,
I just wanted to tell you I miss you already. Terribly. I’m obviously writing this before your departure, but still. I hope your journey will be safe and we’ll see soon again.
Kakashi could see Iruka in front of his desk, writing carefully, maybe sometimes stopping and biting the pen while wondering what to say. Iruka would object and say he didn't do that, but Kakashi knew better, he had seen him deep in his thoughts.
I always miss you when you’re away. House is so quiet. I always cook too much and then I get tired of the same food because I have to eat it for days. So please don’t judge the number of takeout boxes when you get here, okay?
Kakashi smiled. I won’t, he thought.
I’m so used to having you around that the empty house feels weird. It’s almost like it’s not home when something is missing. So, excuse the mess; it makes me feel like home when there’s your things lying around.
Kakashi could see his shirt on the sofa’s armchair – he had a bad habit of piling things, even when he was at Iruka’s place. Lucky for him, Iruka didn’t seem to mind. The shirt would probably still be there on the same spot when he got back, after all these weeks.
I can’t wait to curl up next to you in bed at night. I love you and I miss you. I can’t wait to get you home.
Neither can I, Kakashi thought and took out the second page.
Ok, maybe that was sappy enough.
It was what now?
I hope that if this letter was in wrong hands, they already lost interest. (Not that I don’t mean those things, I do, but do you think I would write you pages after pages just that?)
Kakashi frowned and realized that it really was a lot of paper. Not just a couple of pages of sweet notes. He kept reading.
It’s going to be long weeks. I don’t know how I’m going to handle you coming back home.
I hope you come to my place and knock on the door. I will open the door, grab your collar and pull you in. You won’t have time to greet me because I will shut you right up and kiss you hard. I’ve missed you and I want to taste you on my lips and in my mouth straight away.
Kakashi’s face went blank. If someone was to see him now, they would have no idea what he was reading. He glanced his surroundings. Everything was normal.
I don’t care if you have time to pull the door close behind you or not. I will drag you exactly one step into my hallway before dropping to my knees.
Kakashi grunted involuntarily. His blank expression started to melt away.
And what am I wearing, you might wonder? As it’s weekend, I went for a run earlier. My hair is down and still wet from the shower, and I’m wearing sweatpants and probably one of your t-shirts.
What the hell? This had been in his backpack for nine weeks? This mission could have been so much more pleasant. In the future he would rummage through his belongings as soon as he left, Kakashi thought in both bitter horror and awe.
He could imagine the situation as it was happening right in front of his eyes. Iruka would be wearing one of Kakashi’s white t-shirts, which would reveal his muscular arms and hug his figure. Kakashi was maybe taller, but Iruka’s build was firm, and Kakashi’s t-shirts always looked better on him anyway.
Parts of the shirt would be wet, because Iruka’s hair would be dripping – he was always too lazy to dry it properly, he thought pressing the towel couple of times on his head was enough, and it never was.
Kakashi flipped the page eagerly.
I will tell you how much I missed you. You can lean on the wall if you want to, as I unzip your pants slowly. It seems you have missed me as well, haven’t you?
Kakashi’s hand moved subconsciously on his crotch. He groaned and forced his eyes off the paper. Should he put up more traps? He finally understood why Iruka was so worried about his well-being.
Everything was peaceful around him.
I will run my hands up and down your thighs. Then I will pull down your pants, but not your boxers – not yet.
You will gasp when I touch you through the fabric. My hand traces the outlines of you hard cock and presses it gently.
Kakashi opened his pants and did just so.
I bring my face on your crotch and nuzzle it. You touch my wet hair and I enjoy feeling your cock on my face. It’s been too many weeks. There’s already a wet spot on your boxers from your precum.
My hands are on your hips to keep you still and up. I bet your knees are almost giving in, right?
Kakashi didn’t doubt it one second. His knees were weak now, and he was sitting down. He turned the page.
I pull your boxers down slowly. I come closer and make you shiver when my hot breath hits your cock. Then I slowly lick it and watch you squirm. One lick. That’s all, and you’re panting. I smirk at you before giving it another lick. You might go as far as throwing your head back. I will chuckle as it hits the wall and tell you not to hurt yourself.
Kakashi took his cock in his hand. Yes, he would be panting, Iruka would look him straight into his eye, and he could see a smirk in his eyes, because that devil always knew how to make him go crazy.
I will drive you mad. I want you to be a whimpering mess almost on my doorstep, begging me to give you more. Your hands will grab my wet hair, but it won’t help your case. The hot breath still teases you, but that’s all you get.
Kakashi gasped. Oh, he would beg alright, he would do anything.
I want to hear you whine and moan. I want to hear my name as you plea for more. I want to see desperation in your eyes, I want to see and hear exactly how much you missed me and my mouth.
Kakashi was panting. His hand moved steadily, and he felt the familiar tightness in his lower abdomen curling into a ball as he imagined the desperate situation he would be in. He turned the page.
Now slow down. This story takes it’s time and you want to know how it ends, right?
Kakashi whimpered. He actually whimpered out loud. Even with days’ worth of travels apart, Iruka could still command him like this. He gritted his teeth in disappointment when he loosened his grip and slowed down. Fuck.
You plea, you beg and you whimper. I will finally let you out of your misery and take you into my hot mouth. I can feel your knees buckle, and you moan, you shove your fingers in my hair.
Kakashi’s hand shaked. He tried to keep calm and steady so he wouldn’t explode.
I squeeze your hip with one hand and stroke you with another. I suck you lazily, enjoying your gasping breath and bucking hips. I circle my tongue around you to make you see stars behind your eyes, but I won’t let you come, not yet.
Kakashi cried out loud unwillingly. He couldn’t sit straight anymore, but who cares, there was no one in sight, no one around, and to be honest, if he were to be killed right now, he would die a happy man. Desperate, but happy.
I release your hip and hope you can stand still without me helping. After all, I missed you too, and as much as I want to please you, I also want to get my share. I pull my sweatpants down.
Kakashi turned the page with shaking hand.
I pop my lips away from you just for a few seconds so you can enjoy the view. Are you happy to see I’m as desperately hard as you are?
I am, Kakashi thought. Iruka on his knees in front of him, swollen lips parted, hard cock in hand.
I sigh as I stroke myself. I have missed you terribly, all those lonely nights without you. I hold you, but I don’t stroke you, so you will just have to watch me.
Kakashi groaned. He gasped for breath and held his hand in place.
I touch myself and you feel my breath on you. I moan your name, I tell you I will come soon, I want to come for you on my knees.
Kakashi stopped and released his grip completely. He was trying to catch his breath and closed his eyes. The image was too real, it was too much, and he would come too soon if he didn’t stop now. His cock was aching, and he whined.
“Fuck”, he muttered under his breath.
I look at you and I moan your name as I come, and I don’t care about the mess, I care about this moment that I want to savor, I want to see the adoration in your eyes after all this time.
Kakashi turned the page. He let out a relieved wail as he realized it was the last page.
I pant and my legs shake. I tighten my grip around you again, I stroke you and I bring you to my lips.
Finally Kakashi dared to grab his cock again, and he shuddered at his own touch.
I’m so glad you’re home. I’m hungry for you, so I suck you gently again, I take you all the way in. I stroke you, I pop my head up and down. I hum around you, I want to make you moan and come apart in every way.
Kakashi was panting. His hand’s movement was becoming more erratic, and he held the letter tightly.
I look at you. I want you to come for me, so I can swallow your come, and maybe some of it may drip from my mouth.
Kakashi felt the tension in his stomach. He imagined Iruka like that, and the tension exploded and released throughout his body. He cried out loud as he came. He squeezed his hand, so the last page of the letter wrinkled completely.
He panted for a while. He was still almost fully clothed, minus the open pants that he took down just enough to be able to touch himself.
He used his clean hand to straighten the letter so he could read it to the end.
I hope you feel good. I hope you’ll be home soon, and we’ll see how this would go down in real life.
Be safe. Love you.
Kakashi pressed his palm on the letter. Fucking hell. Who knew Iruka was better writer than Icha Icha’s author?
He sighed. He would need to clean up in the river, then sleep. It was what, Thursday? Surely, he could make it to Konoha in two days, just for the weekend.
