Broken but Healing

Chapter 22: It couldn't be you

Summary:

Tubbo has a suspicious feeling about Quackity.

Chapter Text

Jschlatt would often be referred to as the Big Bad Wolf, the villain of all sorts. But secretly, he was always just a chill and cool guy. One to always joke around and be there for you. That's why he kept peeking a glance or two at Quackity. He hadn't been himself for a few days afterall.

Would it have been better if I had just not visited the prison at all? Quackity thought to himself as he walked down the path with his briefcase, following behind Jschlatt closely. Today they were having a meeting something about profits.. blah blah, records. He didn't really pay much attention, his mind was now always busy thinking about Dream.

And he hated it. Hated that before Dream was a villain, now probably a broken innocent. Dream had played with his heart and friendship afterall, isn't it right for him to play with him too? Well, his life..

snap snap

Quackity quickly cleared his thoughts to see a hand clicking Infront of his face. "Babe, you okay? You've been thinking about a lot lately." Jschlatt continued. "I didn't know you were such a smartass now." He chuckled. "..Uh..yeah.." Quackity murmured, trying to laugh along like he normally would. He immediately went back to daydreaming, missing the worried glance from Jschlatt.

"Based on the graph we have, we might have an increase in drowned spawns, resulting in more tridents-" Tubbo was presenting his presentation, something about drowns and tridents. Didn't most of the members if not all have one already, so why bother? Quackity decided to just doodle on some paper, scribbling down notes from time to time. He peeped at Jschlatt a few times, preferably his ass. And maybe his crotch area too. He looked around the room to notice that Ranboo wasn't with Tubbo this time. Usually he would be next to Tubbo to calm him down when he got too agitated or help him with his notes and presentations. Maybe he was busy caring for Michael, he had been told that Tommy sometimes help babysit Michael or be a temporary babysitter but he hadn't heard much from him recently.

After the meeting, Tubbo had requested for Jschlatt to stay back for a private meeting and had to stay, while Quackity walked back home alone.

The wind gently blew as Quackity hung his jacket on his shoulder, his buttoned up white shirt having small red tints leftover. He had tried his best to get it out, but none were successful. He sat on a bench and peeked at the afternoon sun, shielding his eyes. Then, his phone rang. He picked up.

"Hey Quackity, I'm going on a date tomorrow and thought if you wanted to double-date with Schlatt!" Sapnap's cheerful voice coming out. "Ah, sure. My schedule has been quite clear recently, so I might be able to come. Jschlatt is at a meeting with Tubbo right now so I can't really answer for him." Quackity replied, trying to sound as happy as he could. "That's great man, tomorrow at 2pm?" "Sure. Whatever works for you." "Alright, we'll be waiting at the Denny's entrance for you! Cya." Sapnap said. "Cya." He declined the call. He opened his contacts and tapped on Jschlatt's name.

`Hey babe, I'll be at the bench we usually sit at during picnics. I'm waiting there for you.`

Quackity paused, quickly adding a heart before sending it off, keeping his phone in his pocket and lying down onto the back. Distant cows mooed and nearby trees rustled their leaves, the gentle breeze blowing through his ruffled hair as the bench creaked along with his small movements. He wished everyday was like this, no problems or concerns. No wars or papers.

"Hey hun. Tubbs' said that Ranboo was in his heating season today and needed a place to stay so he will be with us for at least a week or two. Never knew endermen had mating seasons." Jschlatt said, walking up to Quackity and leaning on the bench beside him. "Wouldn't he stay at a hotel then?" Quackity asked. "I dunno. Asked him the same question, said something about trust and bad vibes about hotels." He shrugged, pulling Quackity up and strolling down the path with him and Tubbo, who was trailing behind them, not wanting to be a third wheel. Quackity nodded, agreeing internally.

They soon reached home and Quackity went upstairs and Jschlatt gave Tubbo a small tour. "The guest room is upstairs, last door to the right. It doesn't have a built-in bathroom though so you'll have to use the extra one near the kitchen." He said, walking to the guest room with Tubbo. "Stay as long as you need. We don't mind." "Thanks for this."

Tubbo closed the door and looked around. He placed his bag onto a chair, taking out a small recorder and placed it into his pocket. After several hours, he sneaked out of his room and checked if the pair were asleep, before quickly opening the door and crept to the desk. He stuck the recorder under the table and crept back out, closing the door softly and rushing back to his room. "I hope my gut feeling got the right person.. I'm going to feel so bad if I got the wrong guy." Tubbo murmured, going to bed and slowly closing his eyes.
