Chapter Text
"Sir I am sorry but I cannot get Mr. Kim on the line. Please understand".
"Why? Why can't you? I have a complaint. I have to speak to him, Miss" Jungkook insists.
"But Sir, this is our customer support line. I will be happy to help you with any complaints you have about our products or services. If I may get your order ID?"
I mean technically, he is their product, right? But then order ID… Jungkook mutters to himself.
"Sir…?"
"No. Get Mr. Kim Namjoonshi on the line. That will be all. I’ll even give you five stars", Jungkook answers stubbornly.
" Mr. Kim doesn't take these calls. Please try-"
"Wait! I am getting a call. Don't hang up. No five stars…" Jungkook says before putting her on hold.
"Seokjin Hyung!"
"Jungkookshi! What's wrong? I am sorry I just saw your missed calls. Is everything alright?" Seokjin asks, concerned.
"No-nothing is alright Hyungie! I- where is he? Why hasn't he been replying to my emails? I've sent at least twenty two" Jungkook replies.
"Umm… you mean Namjoon? He's right-"
"Yes. Him. Where is he? He asked me to email him if it was urgent. He's not been replying to those. And Your incompetent customer service department -"
"What do you want?" It was Namjoon who replied this time.
"You. Get back here right now. Get back here and marry me! Take me with you to Seoul. Now!" Jungkook replies angrily.
"What am I supposed to do? Your brother decided this. Your family won't decide on anything until all of you come to Seoul and-" Namjoon tells him,
"I don't care. I am not waiting a day. This isn't fair Namjoonshi. We- we had a-" Jungkook cuts him off mid-sentence, Hoseok had explained the same thing. They weren't gonna decide anything until they visit Seoul and see for themselves that everything is alright and that Namjoon was actually a good match for their baby.
"I am getting a call", Namjoon replies and then hangs up before Jungkook can finish.
Jungkook stares back at his phone, fuming. He had everything planned. He was getting married this weekend, he was all packed and set to move to Seoul and most importantly he was gonna escape the torturous exams. There was no way he was going back to that college ever again. Before he could go back to that unhelpful call centre person he gets a text from Seokjin. There were two contact numbers attached, One that said Namjoon Kim, and the other was of some Queen with a red heart after the contact name.
Calling the Queen would be a little too much but maybe if things really go out of his hands, who knows he might even use that number. For now, It was to make sure Kim Namjoon does as they decided. He cannot go back on his words. Before he could reply to Seokjin, thanking him, Seokjin calls him, “The-the first number is of your use Jungkookshi. That's your man’s. Please delete the other. I just-” he almost whispers.
“Don't worry hyung, I get it. Classified information and shit. But I must say, you are indeed something Hyung. You have the queen's number” Jungkook replies with excitement.
“Umm… Yeah, well, actually we are about to board Jungkookshi. It was really nice to meet you and your family today. We look forward to hosting you in Seoul soon” Seokjin says sincerely before hanging up.
The meeting of the families had gone exceptionally well. Even Hoseok, who wasn't too keen on doing this, had softened a little by the end. Sure, he was still not completely okay with this whole marriage thing, but meeting the Kims actually was a little bit of a relief. He even had plans to go drinking with Seokjin, when the Jeons visit Seoul next month. That was the plan. They will be going to Seoul and after they were okay with everything there, they decided to announce the engagement which was gonna be one big event, Mrs. Kim had mentioned excitedly.
Unaware of all the plotting against his full-proof plan, Jungkook was more concerned about some other important stuff. He had clearly won the race to the Cafe, Namjoon was probably second to last to arrive but he had very blatantly refused to pay up the promised twenty thousand won. “I don't have any money” he had whispered in his ear, and Jungkook did feel bad about pestering him for the money. They didn't look poor, far from it actually but who was Jungkook to judge? In the past, whenever he had hung out with Taehyung and Jimin, it was always Taehyung who paid for everything. Maybe that's why… he was also worried about the dedicated art room he had planned to set up upon moving to Seoul. But he wasn't a shallow person. He was of course not gonna say anything about it. His family had raised him better. "It's alright," he said quietly and went back to sit in the corner, nibbling on his dessert. He will manage, whatever it is, he will, he decides.
His world comes crashing down when the Kim's announce it was time for them to leave but nobody asks him to bring his stuff from the house. They just all get into their car, wave goodbyes, and drive away. Mrs. Kim does come to him to hug him tightly and kiss his forehead affectionately before leaving, but she too doesn't say a thing about marriage. Did something happen while he was too focused on his brownie? Why would they just… Jungkook thinks watching the car as it soon disappears in the distance.
"Are you about to cry Kookie?" Yoongi teases ruffling Jungkook's hair affectionately.
On their walk home Hoseok tells him about what the elders had decided. A month, a whole month before he goes to Seoul, and after that, there will be the wedding. AFTER THAT! That's too long. He can't wait that long, plus, the exams are not too far. He has to get married before those.

Namjoon had fully planned on ignoring Jungkook's incessant messages and emails. There wasn't much he could do about this. His family had every right to decide for their kid plus he wasn't too keen on upsetting Hoseok especially. It was only when his mother wouldn't stop talking about the big plans she had, from the engagement announcement, the party, the million outfit changes for everybody, the press conference, and the photoshoot that he decided he had to take matters into his own hands. He had agreed on getting married but there was no way he was gonna be part of this. His mother whipping out a big wedding planner on the dining table the next day was the last straw.
Namjoon quickly texted Jungkook, "I think I have a plan. Give me some time." ;
"Please stop harassing my call centre employees" he added.
