"Ouch." Raven lets out a grimace, grabbing the man's wrist tightly as she sent him a petulant glare. "Tai, let me go."

"Not until you explain what's on your wrist." He scowls, having thought they really were over this particular grudge.

"I'll explain after you let me go. That hurts."

"Please," Tai drawls, rolling his eyes in growing frustration. "we both know this isn't anywhere near-"

"I'm injured, dammit." Raven winces. "Let go. Force knows I'll throw you into the sea if you don't."

Tai grimaced, slowly letting her go even as he stared wearily. "You better not be lying." He threatened emptily, all too familiar with what the woman did and didn't consider fair game.

"I'm not." Raven huffed, rubbing her neck as she sat at the table's edge. "Ouch. What happened to be a gentleman?"

"Someone broke me out of the habit, I recall." Tai drawled, eyes narrowing even if he did feel slightly guilty. He hadn't lost his temper in years - even if it had been entirely justified. "Now spill. What happened to the plan?"

"It flew out of the window?" Raven replies drily. "More like thrown, honestly. Then murdered to add some drama, probably." Raven muttered darkly. "Look, we're moving everything up. Pretty much everything, at least. Not quite sure-"

"Raven," Tai forces himself to count to three. "Focus."

"Right." Raven sighed, rubbing her face as an exhausted expression crossed her features. "I knew that logically Salem would be gunning down one of the major countries. I even made a fair guess she'd aim for Vale. It's just...I thought we'd have more time, you know."

"We did discuss this, yes." Tai sighed, taking a seat on one of the nearby chairs. "What has that got to do with barging in at first thing in the morning? I thought you wanted to keep them out of this." And then his eyes do narrow. "Or what's on your wrist? I thought you and Ozpin agreed to play nice."

"We did!" Raven huffs, annoyed. "It's not my fault Ozpin dragged Ruby into this. Blame this on him, not me!"

"But..." Tai trails off, raising a single, judging eyebrow.

Raven smirks entirely too smugly. "I stole it before we agreed to play nice, not that it count's as stealing."

"Oh, for the love of-"

"As for why we moving now," Raven continues, ignoring the man's long-suffering sigh. "Is because I'm fairly certain Leonardo just betrayed us. Or has betrayed us. Force knows when that started."

"Lovely," Tai mutters under his breath. "How sure is fairly?"

"Sure enough that I'm here." Raven shrugged.

"Good to know," Tai nodded, leaning back into his chair. "Good thing I've mostly packed, then."

Raven opens her mouth, more than ready to argue with that statement. And then she closes it, narrowing her eyes as she gives him a pointed glare. "I know what you did, and I'm not going to bite." She says instead, smugness radiating as Tai pouts disappointedly.

"What did even do to get yourself injured, anyway?" He asks instead.

"Ah." Raven blinks. "That."

"...It better not have to do with magic."

"It might have something to do with magic."

Tai stares at her, contemplating whether or not he should attempt hitting her head. Right now the prospects are high in comfort, but low in success. "You do remember almost dying, don't you?"

Raven raises an unamused eyebrow. "Yes Tai, I do, in fact, remember. It was quite a memorable day."

"Well, you certainly don't act like it when pulling these stunts," Tai muttered. "So?"

"...so?" Raven sighs, expression turning entirely uninterested.

"Injury?"

"Salem." She replies simply.

Which was more than he usually gets from her, in all honesty.

"Right!" Yang slams the door open, taking far too much delight in slamming the large suitcase onto the floor as well. "Packed. You old people done talking?"

"Oy! I'm in my thirties!" Tai smirks, making a point to comb his hair back.

"You've aged terribly." Raven remarks "I think you have grey-"

"Zip it." Tai narrows his eyes, threateningly.

"Zipped," Raven smirks, waving her hand as a portal opens near the wall. "And the suitcase wasn't really necessary, we have maybe one hundred or so steps to go." She adds with a yawn, waving at the window before turning to stare at Yang thoughtfully. "That's it?"

Tai sighs.

"Dad has a limit on what we can take on trips," Yang says, glaring as if he were the unreasonable one.

"Really?" Raven asks, bewilderedly.

"Yes," Tai sighs. Again. "Which is entire-"

"My fault, yes, yes. I'm sensing an offensive theme here." Raven shrugs, stretching her arms as she walks through the portal.

"You're okay there kiddo?" Tai asks, ruffling her hair in the most annoying way possible.

"I guess?" Yang grimaces, holding tightening on her suitcase before she frowns at the glowing red. "Is she always like that?"

"Yes," Tai replies instantly, and shamelessly. "And she likes to think she was holding back - which she wasn't - and then get offended when you complain about it. Just take it by stride. You get used to it. Eventually."

"Ah." Yang blinks, seemingly recognising something in his expression before nodding in sympathy. "Got it." She nods. "Should we get going?" She asks, awkwardly poking the portal.

"Lady's first," Tai responds with a smirk.

"I'm still not a l-" Yang yelps - pushed into the portal as Tai's smirk can only grow.

"That never gets old," He chuckles to himself. A final glance at their home before he himself follows suit.
