Yusei’s POV
“ Thanks for cheering me up Kiryu “ I smiled at Kiryu as he and I stood in the kitchen, My eyes still hurt from crying but I was starting to calm down and feel a lot better.
“ Hey it’s not problem Yusei, I just want to make sure you’re okay, People like that bitch don’t deserve to be related to someone so sweet and kind as you, Maybe I should tell Seraphina, I’m sure she’d make sure that bitch never bothers you again “ I smiled a little when Kiryu said that, Sera was basically like a sister to me and she can be very protective of me.
“ I mean yeah Sera would be able to do that but I don’t want her getting in trouble or anything “ I said as I sat down because of morning sickness kicking me in the ass, Kiryu leaned against the fridge as he drank the soda I gave him.
“ I mean i definitely don’t know her as well as you do but if she is able to scare Jack of all people than I’m pretty sure she’d be completely fine “
I nodded in agreement. I didn't need that lady or any of my other living relatives when I had Sera and the others. "I'm glad we could settle things between us, Kiryu."
"Me too. I should be getting back home to Carly now. I bet she's worried sick about me." Kiryu gave me and Jack, who came back in from outside, quick hugs before leaving. With it just being me and Jack now, my mind went to our wedding.
"Have you started the final preparations for the wedding?" I asked.
"Yeah." Jack sits down beside me, putting an arm around my shoulder. Feeling his warmth made me forget the morning sickness. "Sera said she'll pick you up for your dress fitting."
"Is there anything else we have to do?" I asked.
"Well I have to go pick up the cake, buy my suit, check on the catering. And we've already seen where the wedding will be held, right?" How could I forget? When I heard Jack rented it, I almost fainted. Thank god Martha convinced him not to buy it.
After going over the rest of the stuff needed for the wedding, I went upstairs to shower so I could be ready when Sera came. Sometimes I wondered how she's able to do so much work in such a tight amount of time.
A few minutes after I got dressed, I heard her pull into the driveway. I gave Jack a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving out.
“ Be safe love “ I Heard Jack say as I left, I reassured him that I would be before I got into Sera’s car.
“ How are you feeling, Yusei? “ I buckled myself before I replied. “ Don’t worry I’m fine, My morning sickness hasn’t been horrible today “
"That's a relief. I wouldn't want you vomiting all over my studio and your dress." Sera then drove off to her studio. I was so excited to see what work she'd done with my dress. She also worked on the bridesmaid dresses and some of the suits.
My heart raced as we rode the elevator to Sera's studio. I couldn't believe I was actually getting married. So much has been happening that it now dawned on me that I'd be taking a huge step in my life soon.
"Come in." Sera opened the door to the room and led me inside. I was in awe of all the fabrics, mannequins, and materials inside. On the walls were outlines and designs for various outfits. It still amazed me that it was all her doing this.
"So, how are you feeling about the wedding? Excited to be a bride?" Sera smiled as she went to get my dress from the back.
"Yeah, but I'm also nervous." I fidgeted with my clothes. "This is such a huge step me and Jack are taking."
Sera hummed. "I understand that feeling. While you and Jack are meant for each other, there are a lot of people who will try to tear you two apart."
And that's what I was afraid of. I didn't wanna think about Mina or my cousin ruining my wedding or my life in general. Sera must've noticed since she came over and hugged me.
"It's gonna be okay, Yusei. Jack has eyes for you and you only. As my mom says, 'Everything has fallen into place and the course has been set.'" She gave me a reassuring smile.
I smiled and nodded. "Now, let me see my dress."
I gasped when Sera brought out the dress. It was mostly white with hints of dark blue and diamonds shaped like stars. “ I like it but I think the top might be a bit too tight “ I said as I looked at the dress.
“ It is a little but it stretches and most of the tightness is in the bust of it, So you should be fine on that front since you haven’t started to get a baby bump yet “
"That's true. Other than that, the dress is very beautiful. You did such a fantastic job." I couldn't stop staring at it. How did she manage to make so many intricate details? "Are these real diamonds?" I pointed at the stars.
"Yes. I had an acquaintance do some favors for me." Sera then pulled out a velvet box and handed it to me. Inside was the most beautiful sapphire necklace I'd ever seen.
"Sera!"
She smiled at me. "Jack is going to die when he sees you."
Jack's POV
Preparing for a wedding is tough. I had just picked up the cake and dropped it off at the venue. Afterwards, I had to go get my suit and try it on. All that was left was to check on the catering and review the guest list. Decorations had already been taken care of so there wasn't any need to go out and get any.
"Tired, my king?" I smiled, feeling Yusei kiss my cheek.
"Yeah. How was the dress fitting?"
"It was fine. The dress was absolutely gorgeous." Yusei sat next to me on the couch. From how happy he looked, I bet Sera must've blown him away when she showed him the dress. "What about you and your suit?"
"It fits just fine. I can't wait for you to see it when we get married." I pulled Yusei into my arms, admiring his beauty. To be honest, I was nervous about my wedding but knowing that I'd spend the rest of my life with Yusei got rid of some of it.
"I love you, my handsome king." Yusei's eyes glowed with love. I couldn't help but think I was looking at stars when I met those eyes.
"I love you too, my queen."
The Next Day
Yusei's POV
I was tapping my hand on the table nervously. The day had come, and it couldn't have been more overwhelming. Sera said she was coming to take me to a makeup artist so I would be ready this afternoon.
Jack gently kissed my head. "Nervous, love?" He put his hand on my shoulder, bringing me a bit of comfort.
"Yeah. Sera is gonna come get me, But i just can’t help but feel nervous “ Honestly I wanted to cry. I was so happy and so scared to be marrying Jack. I know he'd never hurt me, but there's plenty of people who would.
"Are you having cold feet?" Jack sat beside me and held my hand.
I sighed, "Yeah. I'm really nervous. And scared. I'm scared that someone will try to take you from me or that I'll hurt you…"
Jack gently touched my cheek. "It's okay, love. To be honest, I'm nervous too. I'm scared that I'm not good enough for you."
We hugged each other tightly, which reassured us that we were meant for each other. I felt my phone buzz when I let go of Jack which meant Sera was here.
"I gotta go. I'll see you at the wedding." I kissed Jack deeply as I stood up to leave. "I love you, Jack."
Jack smiled warmly at me. "I love you too, Yusei." I made sure I was ready and walked outside and saw Sera in the driveway, I made sure I had everything as I got into her car.
“ Ready to go? “ Sera asked as I got buckled up. “ Yeah, I am “ I would be lying if I said i wasn’t anxious, It honestly felt almost unreal that I was finally going to be getting married.
When we got to Sera's house, the makeup artist quickly sat me down and started working.
“ I don’t want too much makeup on, Please “ I asked as I was trying not to sneeze from the makeup brush touching my nose.
“ Do you want to leave the mark uncovered? “ I heard the makeup artist ask while gesturing to the criminal mark under my left eye. “ Yes I do “ The makeup artist simply nodded and continued working.
I was both excited and nervous at the same time. My wedding day was finally here, It felt so surreal that it was actually happening.
I couldn’t help but wonder how Jack was feeling, He seemed pretty happy and excited this morning, As Sera was helping me into my dress I heard the sound of people arriving and moving around the hallway outside.
As I fidgeted as Sera helped me into the dress to ensure that it wasn’t tight around my stomach I heard Sera say.
“ Yusei, Stop fidgeting please “ I looked up at her and replied whilst trying to ease my nerves. “ S-Sorry I-I can’t help it, I mean I’m sure everything is going to be okay but my nerves are going nuts and- “ Before I could finish my sentence Sera shushed me.
“ Everything will be fine, You look amazing, Don’t worry, Just take a deep breath and relax “ I did as Sera said and started to calm down.
“ Sorry about that Sera “ Sera smiled as she finished helping me get ready.
“ Don’t worry, It’s normal to be nervous in situations like this, But trust me I will make sure that nothing bad happens “ Sera always knew how to calm me down.
“ Do I look okay? “ I asked as I looked in the full length mirror. “ Yusei, You look amazing, You’re gonna knock Jack off his feet “ I couldn’t help but smile as Sera stood beside me with her hands on my shoulders.
“ I don’t know if this is the right word but…this all feels so surreal, It feels like a dream “ I could already feel tears welling up in my eyes.
“ It’s always nice to see that smile of yours, Yusei “ Sera said as she finished getting ready herself. “ We should get going, I’m sure everyone is already there waiting “ She said as she guided me out of the room.
I noticed what Sera was wearing: a blue ao dai with an embroidery of Stardust Dragon.
“Sera…”
“You noticed, huh? “ I smiled and nodded. “ Yeah, I don’t know how I didn’t notice it before, You look great! “
Sera smiled softly. “Thanks. Now, let's get going. We don't wanna keep everyone waiting.” She ushered down the stairs, hugging me before she went to go join Broder and the triplets.
I heard the music begin the play as Martha walked up to me.
“ Are you ready dear? “ I nodded as Martha took my arm. We walked down the aisle together. I saw some of my friends tear up or cry out of the corner of my eye.
I saw Jack smiling at me as he stood at the altar with tears forming in the corners of his eyes. I tried to blink back my own tears too.
I felt like my heart was about to explode out of my chest when I got up next to Jack, I smiled up at him and the officiant spoke and gave the typical speech.
I smiled as I listened until the I do’s came, I got choked up as I said it, Tears dripping down my cheeks.
Jack held my hands as he said I do, I could see the tears in his eyes and the big smile on his face.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife,” the officiant said. “You may now kiss the bride.”
Jack pulled me close as he kissed me. I melted in his arms, never wanting the moment to end. I was surprised when Jack scooped me up in his arms and carried me down the aisle.
During the reception, everyone showered us in congratulations. I had just finished shaking hands with a friend when Broder tapped my shoulder. I thought he was also going to congratulate me but he ended up asking if he could talk to me alone.
“What's wrong, Broder?” I asked once we were alone. He looked noticeably nervous, which was unusual for him.
“You remember the thing we talked about, right?” Broder fidgeted with his bow tie before he put his hands in his pockets.
My eyes widened as I nodded. “Do you wanna do it right now?”
“Not now. I just wanted to make sure you still remembered.” Broder looked down at his feet. “And…I've been feeling guilty about it.”
I put my hand on Broder's shoulder. “You shouldn't be. It's not like you lied to Sera to hurt her. Besides, I’ll tell her that it was also my idea so she won’t be mad at you.”
Broder smiled. “ Thanks, But are you sure? “ I smiled and nodded, Broder was usually like this always checking multiple times to see if someone was sure about something or if they were okay.
“Tell you what, I'll give you the signal to do it, okay?”
“Got it.” Broder walked back over to the door before turning to me again. “Guess you already know about the whole triplets thing, huh?”
“Yeah.” I nodded. “Have you told the others?”
“No not yet. Wouldn't wanna do it here either.” Broder opened the door for me. “Come on. Let's get back to the party.” I followed him back into the party, I couldn’t necessarily blame Broder not telling anyone about the whole thing with the three little cuties but I think there’s at least a few people who have kinda figured it out on their own already for various reasons.
Speaking of the three little cuties, little Hemera cooed loudly when me and Broder walked back in.
“Guess she missed you two.” Jack joked.
“It's alright, sweetie.” Broder took Hemera out of Sera's arms. I'm surprised I didn't realize they were his earlier just from looking at their faces. Even down to the smile.
I have to admit that it was a massive relief since I honestly think they are better off not being Sayer’s.
I sat down when I started to feel somewhat exhausted, I knew if I didn’t Jack and Sera would be pestering me to sit down so I don’t over exhaust myself.
After a few minutes, I gave Broder the signal to get ready to do his thing as I got up.
I desperately tried to ignore the wave of nausea that hit me as I stood while Broder got ready. Grabbing the microphone, I tapped it a few times and did a quick mic test before speaking into it.
“May I have everyone's attention, please?” Everyone looked my way with anticipation. “I just wanted to thank everyone for coming here. Me and Jack have had the pleasure of meeting all of you on our journeys, even if the first impression wasn't the best. And I especially have had the honor of knowing a very special woman here.”
I looked Sera's way with a smile. “And her name is Sera.”
Sera smiled back at me.
“When I first came to this city, Sera took me in even though she was already raising three kids and taking care of two more. She's always been like a sister to me and she’s one of the most amazing people I’ve met in my life, She’s even the godmother of mine and Jack’s unborn baby.”
Sera put her hand over her heart as she tried not to cry.
“She's gone through a lot of bad stuff in her life and I think she deserves a lifetime's worth of joy.”
Sera got up and walked over to hug me as I handed the bouquet to her. She was crying tears of joy. “Thank you so much, Yusei.”
“Don't thank me, thank the man behind you.” I handed the microphone to Broder and stood back to watch him put his plan into motion.
“Seraphina-Taniya Phan, on this day two years ago, I met you. We were both at the Monaco Grand Prix and I just thought you were the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen, and I was right. While a lot of people just see the ice on the outside when there's actually a very kind, loyal woman inside.” Broder smiled at her, causing her to blush through her tears. “You're not only an amazing duelist and talented fashion designer, you're also an incredible friend, mother, and girlfriend.”
“Like Yusei said, you deserve a lifetime of happiness so why not start it now?”
Sera gasped when Broder dropped down on one knee and pulled out a small velvet box. “Seraphina-Taniya Phan, will you marry me?” I saw tears welling up Sera’s eyes as she replied.
“ Yes! “ I couldn’t hear much also as everyone started cheering including me and Jack, I had the biggest smile on my face seeing Sera so happy, She deserves happiness.
I quickly sat back down when I felt a massive wave of nausea and dizziness hit me to the point where I was sure if I didn’t sit down as soon as I could that I would end up falling down.
I sat there still insanely happy for Sera and Broder but also trying to breathe through the nausea and hoping that I didn’t have to vomit considering I was in a dress and a good thirty to forty feet away from the nearest bathroom.
“ Love, Are you feeling alright? “ I heard Jack ask as he was checking on me. The worry was plain on his face as he rubbed my back. “ Y-Yeah I-I’m fine, it’s just a bad wave of nausea and all I’ll be fine! “
Jack didn't look convinced so he took me outside where I threw up. Luckily I managed to not get any on my dress.
“Feeling better, love?” Jack put his hands on my shoulders. The reassuring look on his face melted all my troubles away.
“Yeah. Let's go back.” I locked arms with Jack as we walked back inside. I saw Hecate and Medea talking to Sera, probably about her wedding. I couldn't blame them. Those three have been friends since forever.
It made me smile seeing Sera so happy as she spoke with Hecate and Medea.
Jack almost immediately got me back to where we were and sat me down and rushed to get me some water, I tried to not make how bad my morning sickness was since I really didn’t want anyone to worry.
I was hoping that Sera hadn’t noticed, I really didn’t want her to worry about me right now, I just wanted her to just be happy and not worry about me for once.
I leaned back in the chair and took a deep breath. Staring up at the ceiling, I got lost in thought. For some strange reason the image of a fancy looking room that i’d never seen before popped into my head.
Why was I seeing a room I had never seen before?, My train of thought was broken when Jack came back with a bottle of water. “ You okay love?, Is something wrong? “ I looked up at him, Seeing the look of worry on his face as he gently brushed a piece of hair out of my face.
“ I-I’m fine, I was just kinda lost in thought, It’s nothing to worry about really “ Jack looked skeptical but I smiled regardless, Trying to reassure him that i was fine, I couldn’t really blame him considering he came back to see me staring up at the ceiling, Looking like i was spacing out.
“ Are you sure Yusei?, If there’s anything wrong you can tell me “ Jack sat down and took my hand into his as he spoke, He’s been like this for years, He’d always put my happiness and wellbeing over his own.
“ Yes, Really i’m fine, The nausea isn’t as bad as it was “ Jack touched my cheek as he looked me in the eyes. “ What was on your mind when you were spacing out like that?, If you don’t mind me asking “ I sighed and spoke quietly. “ It was strange, I saw a fancy looking room i’m certain i’ve never seen before “ Jack seemed perplexed a bit.
“ Hmm..I’ve had a similar thing happen i had a dream where i’d heard a voice i don’t recall having heard before, The dream seemed more like a memory than a dream, Maybe it’s related to our marks, That’s the only thing i can think of ‘ I pondered what Jack said, ait was a possibility though i just wasn’t sure, I still don’t fully understand these marks we have.
As I sat there thinking Jack went to get us some food, I overheard Yami and Yugi talking nearby. It caught my attention when I heard Yami mention signers. What startled me was I heard him say the former one had been cursed.
What did he mean by that? I wanted to go ask him but I didn't want to risk causing a scene or intrude on their conversation. My mind went wild with speculation as to what Yami may have meant by that.
I pushed it to the back of my mind so I could enjoy the rest of mine and Jack’s wedding. Soon enough I saw that the sun had set. It seemed that I wasn’t the only one getting tired.
“ Tired love? We can call it a night and head home if you want, Plus you and our little one need rest “ Jack said as he put his hand on my stomach.
“ I guess so, It is getting pretty late and i think the venue is set to close here in about an hour or two “ Jack stood and announced that and after everyone congratulated us again everyone started to leave and head home, I stood and was about to start walking to the car but was quickly picked up by Jack.
(At the apartment where Yuliya & co are staying)
Irina’s POV
“ Gene You okay? What's so important you wanted to just tell me? “ " I walked out to the balcony where Genesis was as she stared at the starry night sky.
“ Do you trust me? “ I was taken back a bit why she’d ask something like that. “ What kinda question is that?, Of course I trust you “ I noticed she had her eyes closed when she turned to me.
When she opened them it instantly caught my attention, Her eyes were crimson red, They were like hers.
