Work Text:

It’s been months since Anne and her friends were transported to a mysterious world called Amphibia. During that time she faced many challenges and adversaries along the way, and befriended a family of frogs called the planters taking her as her own. She of course enjoyed her time her in Amphibia; Meeting and befriending a whole town called Wartwood, helping out around, and generally felt loved by her new home; but… she still missed her old life, her friends back home, her pets…, her family. It’s been a hard struggle not only finding her friends Sasha and Marcy but also finding a way home.

With all the exhausting challenges she faced all Anne needed was time to herself to clear her mind. Anne was sitting on an old stone well decrepit with time, overgrown, and crumbling, but still stable. Anne didn’t do anything for a while, letting her thoughts flood the silence of the cool evening air looking up at the stars and constellations. Normally Marcy would probably be mouthing off about space and science or about gas giants and moons, but not this time...this time she was alone; the only thing she could do is think at peace..for a little while.

She still felt uneasy checking behind her and around the area. She couldn’t say what that feeling was, but she felt..watched. She would eventually block those feeling out thinking it’s just a bug or Wally being weird again. She sighed in relief flooding up among the stars and the rising moon shining down upon the land finally relaxing without bother.

Suddenly a pair of hands would grab the unsuspecting girl catching her off guard. “Wha- oof!” Anne said in confusion soon getting pinned to the wet ground with the kidnappers arm wrapping around her chest and arms. Anne would try to struggle but it seemed like the intruder's arms had a strong grasp.

“W-who are you?!” Anne asked struggling furiously to get them off

“Gag them quick!” The intruder ordered and soon another toad one that Anne was most familiar with would come quickly with a white cloth.

“W-wait Fens? What are you- MMMMGH!” Before Anne could ask the question she was quickly silenced by the feminine toad tying it tight around her head making her unable to talk or scream for help

“Long time no see human but we think you time is up” the mysterious voice behind Anne suddenly felt even more familiar looking behind her at the corner of her eye was Bog “think of this as a little revenge” he would devilishly said with Mire following suit with some coils of rope.

Anne started to thrash around her enemies grasp furiously swearing under gag and trying to call for help but to no avail “MMMGHH-M-MMMGHHH!!”, Anne Angrily screamed feeling a sense of fear and anger coursed over her.

“Mire! *snap* the stick!” Bog ordered as the silent toad walked behind the struggling human ready to swing as commanded “put her to sleep!”, Bog ordered ducking his head as Mire swang the hard stuck at the back of Anne’s head

!! W H A C K !!

Anne’s vision started to feel blurry; her eyes feeling heavy succumbing to sleep, but she tried to fight it trying to stay awake, but it was seemingly impossible as Anne fell down on the moist grass feeling her vison become darker and darker “m-mmmmmmp…..” she would muffle up before succumbing to sleep “Mire, Fens! Let’s tie her quickly before those frogs notice anything!” Bog ordered before Anne succumbed to her knock out.

“U-uugghh…. my head-“ Anne slowly woke up darkness flooding her vision trying to look around their bury vision as her head pounds in pain. Anne was gonna hold her pounding head until she noticed that she couldn’t move her arms.

“H-huh?! W-wha?!” She would instantly jolted into action trying to move her arms and hands but found it only impossible to do so fully realizing her situation.

Looking down she saw rope around her chest, and more on her ankles and legs. Oh no this isn’t good she thought realizing that her arms and wrist were tied behind her back.

“Finally awake huh?” Anne’s attention would quickly be on Bog who was only a few inches apart Anne would attack but quickly realized her situation. She was on a boat already floating in the middle of a lake. Anne felt a sense of panic set in; she couldn’t find any sign of Wartwood or anyone in sight, especially during the middle of the night and with a lake this big it would be hard to find her in the dark. S-shit shit there’s got to be another way. She thought to herself trying to break her ropes.

“I’m afraid that there’s no help for you this time dear you are all alone” Bog devilishly stated laughing maliciously at Anne’s peril.

“W-what is this about Bog if this was about standing up to you and your goons from stealing everyone’s stuff then this is taking things too far!”, Anne sharply responded trying to compile her emotions; trying to show no fear in her voice.

“It’s more than that Anne..” Bog admitted “after our little conflicts and other records in your short time here, it’s more clear now, that your dangerous to Amphibia”, Bogs response made Anne annoyedly confused.

“I’m not a danger to Amphibia you idiot!” she shot back struggling in her bondage “n-nugh, I’m trying to find a way to go home... Bog…, I like- no I Love Wartwood and I’ll be sad to leave here but right now all I’m trying to do is find my friends and go home!” You shouted the nightly silent broken by her anger.

But it didn’t affect Bog, not at all. He had a mission and some vengeance to carry out “even if so, I believe this will take care of some personal business”, he chuckled before revealing a stone ball in the middle of the boat on its handle there was rope tied around it all the way connecting to Anne’s ankles.

This definitely freaked Anne out; he’s really serious it seems, and this made her heart race o-oh god she thought “l-listen Bog this is crazy we can talk this out maybe we can take you in as our- MMMGHH” Anne was interrupted by the cloth tied around her mouth Bog tying it around tight around her mouth.

“I’m getting really tired of you always talking and talking..” Bog said annoyed by his captives whining “no matter what you say or do it won’t stop you from your midnight swim.” Bog threatened.

“M-mmghfff!” Anne grunted under her gag annoyed with the white cloth trying to remove it but to no avail, but also she gave a slight blush. Not to big but enough for her to have a side of her morbidity enjoying this however she would be enjoying this for too long.

“Anne?” A distant voice could be heard “don’t have enough time it seems” Bog responded grabbing the stone ball and setting it near the edge of the boat making it topple to the side. “Any last words human?” Bog evilly asked.

“Mmmfghfffff- mmghhffg!!” She muffled being inaudible from her gag.

“Eh that's what they all say” Bog stated before dumping the stone ball into the lake it sinking instantly into the musky and cold water not to long after Anne soon followed suit dragging the poor girl into the water dragging her in with the water hitting her like ice before she disappeared in her watery grave “goodbye Anne Boonchuy” Bog said hearing the distant calls grow more and more closer; eventually starting to row away from a job well done.

The murky swamp water enveloped Anne, tugging at her tight bondage trying her best to escape as her stone ball made Anne rapidly sink further from the surface; The young girl tried to pull up only to be buoyed by the heavy object her body trying to forcibly swim but with no success. The icy swamp water hit her like sharp needles forcing her to shiver and gasp barely containing herself as bubbles of air escaped her body furthering her demise. All that Anne could do is struggle in her bounds one more the ropes making her body feel encased like a mummy the ropes tighten even more as she struggles. Looking around Anne only saw darkness for as far as the eye can see; shortly after the swampy salt water made her eyes sting making the poor girl tear up from the pain going past the point of no return. The only thing rising back to the surface was her air bubbles trickling away from her nose and hair like she was in slow motion. Anne wobbled ash she saw them float away feeling her lungs hurt for the need for oxygen. It was hopeless for her Anne couldn’t hold it long enough she was gonna explode; the sensation of pressure popping her ears and only desperate struggles for a body starting to reject her needs.

Soon Anne would hit the bottom of the lake with sand covering her salty vision. Looking around she wound herself in an interesting area. Looking around shortly the bottom of the lake had glowing mushrooms and plants, something she never knew before; finally letting Anne to see around her environment, but that didn’t matter Anne needed air and she needed it now. Her drowning struggles continue, her body jerking around trying to free herself, gritting her teeth under her wet gag suffocating her even more; she began to shook and convolute, unable to provide what her body demanded . Anne couldn’t hold it in any longer and in desperation she tried to breath releasing the air she wasn’t able to hold on to, and she started to suffocate sucking in the water that filled her swiveled up lungs. Anne tugged at the ropes as hard as she could, but the bloody ropes held in place; it was hopeless for her. Anne’s vision started to slowly fade to black, stars dancing under her blurry vision as the sounds of her underwater suffocation muffled with the sounds of her beating heart. the only thing she could do was think.
She thought about everything she has done in her life meeting so many people, friends, and places she loved. Her struggles started to become weak and tiring and she felt exhausted with slight sparks of twitching and shutters. S-someone help me.. Anne’s final thoughts said, I-I don't-wanna l-leave t-t-them… f-fight back she told herself thinking about all the memories she made not only back home but in Amphibia as well, hanging out with the planters, exploring this new dangerous world by herself, and defending a town she loved so much despite her short time there. But one memory she thought of was her friends; Sasha and Marcy, stay safe….she wished before accepting the reality of the situation getting a quick glance up to the surface. The red moon brighten more in the night sky hanging about the amphibious world, but that’s not what caught her eye; what caught her fading gaze was a figure, it wasn’t human but she didn’t really tell and in reality she didn’t care g-good night… she finally told herself before closing her eyes hearing the beats of her gear slowly fade from sound leaving her in total darkness…

Anne shot up quickly back to life, her breaths rapid and uncomfortable feeling weak and sore, throwing up some water still left in her throat, coughing up some air stuck in her windpipe before completely coming too.

“Anne! Oh thank frog you're alright!!” A familiar voice echoed through Anne’s ears

“Are you alright kiddo?” Another one echoed; it gave Anne a shutter not knowing who was talking before her vision came too revealing the people you saved her, or in this case the frogs who saved her Sprig, Hop-Pop, and Polly all around her worried for her safety.

“U-ugh... g-guys?! W-eh I don’t-“ Anne was at a list for words one momment she was drowning but the next she’s saved; it made her mind and thoughts hurt, she seemed to be still recovering checking if she was alive or if she was gone.

“Take your time kiddo you just need to take a few deep-“ Hop-Pop suggested before being interrupted by Anne’s group hug

“T-th-thank you thank you thank you thank you” Anne kept repeating herself over and over in the group hug tearing up in the process with the planters fully embracing the hug.

“It ok you're safe now” Hop-Pop reassured Anne the hug getting tighter and tighter.

“I-I thought you guys would never find me…” Anne sobbed releasing the hug trying her best to wipe away the tears flowing from her eyes struggling to speak “I thought I w-would j-just drown…”.

“We would never forget you Anne!” Polly shouted “we were trying to find you for dinner after you didn’t respond, we went all over Wartwood just to find you!” Sprig announced making Anne a little bit better “we heard distant conversations and muffling and we followed the noise, eventually we saw you and we hurried the best we can” spring continued on and on about the situation all them faced

“We what’s important is that your safe now” Hop-Pop stated bringing Anne into a much brighter mood.

“Thanks guys…” Anne weakly said before fully standing on her feet wombling at first before regaining balance in her stance “honestly right now I think we need to go back home now….” Anne stated

“Good idea” Hop-Pop answered, giving Anne some support incase she falls.

Anne gave a resenting nod to The planters thankful for her life being saved. As she looked back at the pond remembering all the things she thought off in her final moments, it gave her a shiver as she quickly looked away heading home from an exhausting night back home to safety.

“I heard the human girl survived…” Fens started “I thought you had this planned out!” She snapped

“I did..” Bog disappointedly informed “but if it was t for those..stupid frogs she would have been gone by now!!” He screeched

Undisclosed the three toads from the night before lay low in a decrepit house far from Wartwood and from the human calling it their ‘Base of Operations’ if you can call it that. All them Bog, Fen, and Mire all frustrated by the failed objective.

“There has to be another way… we can’t go back to toad tower word spreads quickly Bog…” Fen fearfully said “commander Sasha will definitely be pissed at us.. what can we do??” She questioned

“I’m not sure..” Bog admittedly said frustrated and defended before consulting the map, looking over some reports and sightings all over Amphibia from Sasha and Anne, and their next objective, one that’s getting quite famous around Amphibia, and Bog smiled with a sinister grin.

“I heard there was a new Chief Ranger in Amphibia, another human they are calling it”. Bog suggested

“You're suggesting we take down the Chief Ranger?!” Fen spoke in shock “that’s impossible! Their in Newtopia and heavily guarded by some of Amphibia’s finest, how would we get in even?!” Fen asked.

“Oh we’ll find a way in” Bog evilly giggled “we’ll find a way..”.
