The forest with it's blazing light and acrvuplian flowers was the most beautiful sight in the whole island. The birds would wake up earlier than the sun, chirp around with their own happy song and then disappear somewhere inside the never-ending wilderness.
The trees would tell tales of the ancient land and snippets of their own world. The forest was never quiet. But sometimes, it was lonely.
Hyunjin adored the little spirits lazing around his land, some dozing off in the middle of flying and some so energetic they could go on talking forever.
But it wasn't enough. He missed human touch. He missed seeing anyone looking at him lovingly. He missed sharing the small tales he held dear to his heart and be vulnerable.
Every time someone would stumble across his home they leave. Later or sooner, they always do. And hyunjin, he is just left with the memories. Ones that gradually fade away with time.
The forests way to prevent him from suffering. Too much.
It was the midst of summer. The sun shining brightly and the wind blowing with a cool haze. The branches slightly bending over to prevent the bright light from over heating him. Hyunjin was collecting some fallen flowers when he heard a cry.
He looked up in curiosity, ears straining to determine the direction when he heard another one. He immediately got up, the basket forgotten and rushed towards the source.
"They are safe." The forest told hyunjin. Hyunjin gave it a silent thanks before speeding up. The trees around showed him the way pointing to the direction till he finally reached it.
There in front of him was a tiny looking person perched on the ground, their hand somehow tied to the thrones of the rose, blood trickling down their small hands.
Hyunjin gently stepped forward, not wanting to scare the stranger, and spoke in a soft voice.
"Hey." The person looked up at him, eyes narrowed in pain and brows creased. Their eyes widened on seeing hyunjin, turning from awed to careful within a few seconds.
"Don't worry I am safe. I heard your cry and decided to check up on you." Hyunjin said, holding his hands out to soothe them. They looked at his hands for a bit before nodding.
Hyunjin offered them a smile and slowly crouched down examining the wound.
"I have been giving you warnings since days ien. You know it's mean to hurt innocent beings." Hyunjin said, scolding the black flower who had been a bitch since a week. The flower in question gently loosened it's hold before shrinking in itself in shame.
I'll have to have a talk with him later, hyunjin thought, as he checked the strangers hand.
"I am Felix." They spoke after a few seconds, offering hyunjin a gentle smile."Thank you for helping me." They said. Isn't it true how appearance can be deceptive, well in this case it was their voice. Deep and rich like that of devil's. An absolute contrast to their angelic face.
"Hyunjin. A creature of this forest."Hyunjin said as he stood up and offered his hand to Felix. They gently accepted the offer with their uninjured hand and stood up.
"Please refer me with they/them pronouns." Felix started brushing away the dirt on his back. "Again thank you. If you weren't here I would have started crying like a baby." He said with big glassy eyes.
Hyunjin's eyes widened. "Well that's good then that I reached here fast. Come on let's heal your wound." He said waiting for their answer. Felix nodded.
"Oh wait." Hyunjin said stepping closer to Felix. Felix gave him a look of confusion which melted into a flustered one as Hyunjin tenderly brushed his hands in their raven hair, removing a brown leaf.
"Done." He Chirped. "Let's go now." Felix stared at the bouncing figure for a few seconds before stepping out of their daze and followed them.

"Be careful lixie. I can heal you but that doesn't mean I can bring back the dead." He said with a slightly concerned smile as Felix tried to balance themselves on the edge of the branch.
Felix grinned, giving up midway and swiftly climbed down the tree.
"Don't worry Hyunie. I am an expert at this." They said as they tripped slightly on the stone laid on the ground, cursing at the gods for making their live miserable and trying to warp their inborn talent.
Felix used to be a part of a pirate crew, it was glorious until it wasn't and they lost their ship. Reason why Felix ended up there and how they could easily travel a tree. Also why they were experiencing land sickness, resulting in the stumbling and off balance stupor.
Hyunjin suppressed a chuckle as he watched them stuggle before they settled down on the ground, patting the ground with an embarrassed smile.
"Do you live here alone?" Felix asked when hyunjin settled down next to him, a half eaten apple in his hand. It was as red as the colour of a red spinel.
He opened his mouth to say that ofcourse he was not alone. He had the spirits next to him. The forest acting as a companion and the animals keeping him comapny. But the spirits are always quiet, never interacting with him but just themselves. The animals refusing to speak the old languages. And the forest has been quiet since decades. He couldn't pinpoint when but the forest no longer talked to him freely the way it used to. Now it seemed frail and old. So maybe he was alone. And maybe, he thought glancing at Felix, a bit lonely.
"Yeah." Hyunjin gulped." No one except me lives here." This was not entirely true but if the spirits were offended by this then it was their fault for leaving him alone.
"Have you ever tried to leave?" Felix asked tentatively, observing the twitching of hyunjin's hand.
"Not really. This place is my home. The place I grew up. And saw everything grow with me." Hyunjin said. There were many things he wanted to say but at this moment he was having a strange epiphany and his chest felt constricting.
Felix nodded, intertwining their fingers gently and gave him a light squeeze.

The days spent with Felix were like a daze, light and feathery. Their giggle filling hyunjin's ears and making him feel a little more warmer. Their smile and the constellation of stars on their face, freckles coving the tan skin.
Shining in the sunlight and singing with their soothing voice, Felix was an angel. The light reflecting every colour of the rainbow above them, making even the flowers a bit envious.
Some days they would run across the green fields, hand in hand, childlike laughter filling the empty forest. Somedays they would relax near the river, watching the fishes dancing in joy. There were also days when they would be quiet and away from each other, thoughts in their mind and wanting some time for themselves.
It was beautiful. Living with Felix. Hyunjin knew he was getting too involved but he couldn't help it. Felix was like the burning sun to him and he would gladly touch it and burn.
He saw Felix sitting near the river, eyes distant and lips turned downward. He was sad.
"You are sad." Hyunjin said out aloud as he sat down, the wind suddenly blowing in their direction, ruffling his pink curls.
Felix gave him a said smile." I miss home." He stated. Hyunjin felt a pang in his chest. This was it. Time to say goodbye to his sunshine. Felix had a family and a life to go back to. He was going to leave him like everyone else.
"You wanna go back." Hyunjin said, praising himself for not choking on his own words.
Felix blinked." I can ?!" They asked, eyes hopeful and shining. Hyunjin nodded, looking away from the blinding smile that graced Felix's feature.
"Yeah. There is a boat near the crimson river. You just have to sit in it and then it will take you back to your home." He knew his voice gave away how much he hated the idea of being away from Felix but he couldn't help it.
"Will I be able to see you?" Felix asked, voice small and cracked.
"No." Hyunjin choked out, curling a bit closer to himself. "Once you leave you'll never find me or this island."
"Oh." He said. Hyunjin turned his head to find tears in their eyes. Lips wobbling and sadness lacing every nook of their face.
"I don't want to leave you." Felix said, voice trembling and raw.
Hyunjin offered them a defeated smile."But you have to don't you? You have a family out there. Your little sister misses you." Felix's face crumpled as they hugged hyunjin. Tightly and snuggled closer. It felt so warm that it would forever remain cold after this.

"Take care of yourself okay. Don't get into reckless things and eat properly." Hyunjin said, fingers curling around Felix's as they reached the boat.
Felix let go of his hand, and faced him, eyes red rimmed and puffy from crying, the year marks across their tanned skin and hyunjin could swer he had never seen someone as beautiful as Felix ever before.
"Bye." Felix whispered, their eyes travelling across hyunjin's body. Taking in the smal mole below his eyes. His ruffled hair and every single thing. Wanting to remember him forever.
"Bye." Hyunjin said, teary eyed. The tears falling down his face were pearls and diamond. Felix's breath caught in their throat, the sight in front of them making their heart ache with homesickness. Because somehow hyunjin had became a part of their home. And leaving felt like abandoning a part of themselves.
Felix took a step backwards and watched hyunjin turn around and run. Too pained to watch felix go away.
They glanced at the boat and then at the footsteps of their angel.
They couldn't do it. Leaving hyunjin felt like a piercing stan. Painful and everlasting. Their family would miss them awful lot and so will they but their family didn't needFelix as much as Hyunjin. No hyunjin wanted them. So did Felix.
They wanted to wake up next to him and watch the streaks of lights catching his eyes. They wanted to be with hyunjin for everything. To see the bad and the goods. And travel in this beautiful prison of his.
No they couldn't leave him. Felix took a step forward and then another before breaking into a run, retracing the footsteps to the garden they had met for the first time.
Hyunjin was crouching next to the same black flower, tears still running down his face. He was talking to it.
Felix's heart broke a bit to see him like that.
"Hyunjin." They whispered causing the other to whip his head up with big and surprised eyes.
"What-" hyunjin stumbled across his words "What are you still doing here?" He asked baffled on seeing them again.
Felix smiled. All sunshine and ambosia. They slowly approached the boy, sitting next to the flower, a little apprehensive at first lest it might sting them again but then relaxed on seeing it swirling around itself as if saying it's okay. I don't hate you.
"I don't want to leave you." Felix said, putting their hand next to his face looking at his earthy eyes.
"I want to be with you." They whispered, leaning forward, eyes on hyunjin, asking for permission. He nodded, face finally erupting into a smile brighter than the stars.
Felix kissed him lightly, it was like silk across the skin. Felix's favourite feeling in this world. Lips soft as gossamer across their chapped ones. It felt heavenly. Like summer and the autumn leaves.
It was everything Felix Needed. Hyunjin was everything Felix wanted.
"I love you." They whispered, lips still on each other. They could feel hyunjin's smile across their lips and he tightened his hold and deepend the kiss .
"I love you." He said after breaking away from the kiss. This felt like home. Hyunjin was home. A home they would cherish forever
Events that happened afterwards:
[ "Ah well. It's all good now so can you guys please stop this PdA. I might gag." Said a voice, startling both of them.
In front of them stood a spirit with raven wings and diamond drops throughout their folds. Pearls across their cheek and lips like the night sky. Eyes the darkest of black and smile like that of moon.
"Oh yeah. I am the forest spirit changbin." He said when none of the two made a move, too shocked say something.
"Why are you so emo if you are the forest spirit?" Felix said, noticing the contrast. Changbin snorted.
"You humans have such an overrated imagination. I like dark. We are like eternal soulmates and all that thing going on." He said with a proud smile.
Hyunjin rolled his eyes.
"Where were you all this time?" His asked with a pout.
"Look dude. I am busy okay. I love you two and all that but like this workload is killing me and I have my own bae to take care of so hush. Also the reason I was here was to tell you that Felix caneet their family and still find this island and you. The curse is broken." Changbin said in one breath.
"O-okay" Felix squeaked.
"That's all! Come on. You guys found true love, kissed and yada yada the curse is lifted. Show some respect." He said, with a smile.
"I am shocked okay. It will take time for everything to settle in. It feels like a dream." They squeaked.
Hyunjin gently spun them around, a wild grin on his face. "It's not Felix. It's real. Everything is real." He said proceeding to kiss the living daylights out of Felix.
And then happily ever after with a changbin grumbling about creepy pda with a slight smile.]
I wish you all find you forever. Platonic. Romantic. Or whatever it is.
The end.
