Work Text:
Hitoshi storms out the room, hands tightly balled into fists. He doesn’t know what to think. He doesn’t even understand what’s fully happening, yet all he feels right now is pure betrayal.
He didn’t have the best life, people would automatically label him a villain once they found out his quirk. At first, it didn’t bother him. He thought people were joking, and that it’d be over soon.
What a funny joke.
He turns a corner.
People would call him a villain left to right, and eventually he stopped talking. It was a small period of time, a time where he just… didn’t talk. Everyone assumed he would just brainwash them the moment he opened his mouth, and it really, really hurt.
He wanted to be a hero! He wanted to help people, to prove that his quirk could also be used for good. He just wanted to have a friend who wasn’t scared of him.
He turns another corner.
Then, suddenly he was in UA. It was nice, people didn’t immediately label him as a villain. He didn’t necessarily have friends, and he wasn’t really planning on making any. But to his surprise, there were a few occasional people he’d be able to have a normal conversation with.
Then he met Midoriya Izuku. Midoriya wasn’t his friend at first, and he surely isn’t anymore, but- spending time with Midoriya was actually pleasant. Training was interesting with Midoriya, and he’s learnt a lot from him. And how Midoriya trusted Hitoshi to use his quirk on him made Hitoshi feel like he’d finally done something right in his life.
But of course, it didn’t last. In middle school, people would ‘pretend’ to be his friend, and they’d eventually blame him for something that got him in trouble. When he and Midoriya were friends, he never felt that way. He always felt like a normal person around him.
Not anymore.
Now, he found out the truth. He found out Midoriya was using him. Using him because he was a target for some villain organization he hadn’t even heard of. And that…
It hurt more than Hitoshi would like to admit.
He opens his dorm room.
He didn’t take Midoriya as the type of guy. He made everything he did seem so genuine that Hitoshi actually fell for it.
Hitoshi angry, and he’s frustrated at Midoriya.
But the pained look in his eyes won’t leave his mind.
At hitoshis earlier outburst, Midoriya seemed… miserable. He didn’t seem like a person who would betray him- and he’d know.
He shuts the lights and lays down.
Hitoshi doesn’t get much sleep. Its been better since UA, and he’s been working on a healthier lifestyle.
All he wants is to sleep. He’s tired, but of course, things don’t go that way.
He spends the rest of the time thinking until one tear becomes two, and two become three. Hitoshi didn’t come to UA to make friends, but he really, really wishes he had someone right now.
He doesn’t sleep that day.
