Chapter Text
Alex had been sat on the steps of the store for a good quarter of an hour trying to gain the strength to actually move from the position. He was conflicted as to what to do, he knew that he had to get back to the school and back to its relative safety, but also he didn't want to return to his prison earlier than truly needed. He would have all the time in the world to spend at the school once he got back. Not like anybody would be looking for him anyway. Slowly getting to his feet and dusting himself off, realising that he was still wearing the clothes that he had borrowed from his brother, he had managed to grab his blazer on the way out so despite the cool late April he had some warmth whilst he wore the T-Shirt and Jeans. They felt wrong to his skin, he was used to wearing his shirts and his black trousers. It felt like he was just playing dress up, like he was trying to dress up as his better looking and stylish brother. Aaron had always had the luck of the gene pool, thought Alex bitterly, he was the one who took the spotlight and took their father. Just add in being a wolf compared to his human nature. Identical twins but he was always going to be the lesser one. Aaron instead had the same temperament and personality as their father, or he had certainly become even more like their father in the last few years if anything he had seen yesterday was to be taken as gospel. Aaron had seemingly developed their father's taste for luxury and extremely high quality things. He wasn't as refined as Peter with his tastes but he certainly had expensive tastes judging by where he had taken Alex on their "date". It had been a nice Italian place, well nice was an understatement. The food had been amazing, the entire place screamed luxury and wealth with an attention to detail and privacy. So even if others could see them in their private booth nothing would have been said at all. After dinner Alex had gotten the first taste of what he assumed was his brother's lifestyle. Being dragged from bar to bar with his twin getting all the attention was not exactly fun, especially when all he had thought they were doing was a nice dinner and maybe a drink together to talk. Somehow that had turned into them in a hotel room with lots of Champagne. Alex just couldn't believe how gullible he had been about it all; to trust his brother and father that they actually cared. He guessed now that it had been a big lie, maybe just so Aaron could score even more conquests to his already long list, or to show his brother that everyone truly preferred him over Alex. Whatever his reasoning behind his actions Alex felt even more betrayed how could he ever trust them after everything his father had said even if it was true. A dad was meant to love and support their kids seemed like Peter only cared about the better one. They say the truth would set you free Alex thought it was total crap, the truth had just confirmed how unloveable he really was even to his own flesh and blood. Having stood up Alex started to walk to what he assumed was a main road through the city. He came out onto a wide street with shops and offices on either side, looking up at the street sign he realised he was in luck and that it would only be about a twenty minute walk back to campus. Hugging a little as he set off toward the school (aka. His prison). Luckily the streets were quite quiet and not many people were about to see as Alex walked towards the hell he had to live in.
~~~~~~
Aaron was worried, his baby brother was alone and most likely lost in the city. Who knows what could happen out there? Other werewolves, druids, or any other supernatural being, that's not to mention the human dangers that could hurt Alex because of how weak he was. He wanted so desperately to find his brother and his mate, he could feel the pain of his brother through their newly reestablished bond. Alex seemed to be a deep well of hurt and betrayal and sadness. Aaron had managed to follow the scent of his lost brother through the streets of the downtown area of Edmonton, their father following him closely behind as they wove through the streets. It was an erratic path, zigzagging through the city. Peter suddenly stopped,
"Oh moon, she didn't put him there, please no, anywhere but there," he gasped.
Aaron was confused by what his father was saying. The vast collection of buildings across a huge lawn with a beautiful lake with fountains looked just like any other expensive private school.
"What do you mean? It is just a school,"
"There are schools in our world for the supernatural, this is the Canadian school. Usually only for those who can't control themselves. Lots of packs and covens send their problem children here, that or the ones they wish to get out of sight. There is a reason it is called 'Halfway to Hell' given then rumours lots of the students end up in the afterlife, one way or another. This place is nigh a death sentence," growled Peter, looking at the school with malice.
"Why did Thalia send him here then? We all know he isn't a supernatural, so why send him here? She could have just sent him to a normal school,"
"Maybe as a punishment, to get rid of Alex, to try and get him killed so we would go mad and then put down, thus riding her of a problematic brother and his twin sons," sneered Peter, a even grimmer look crossing his usually serene face.
"You really think she would send him here just to have him away and eventually killed?"
"I would not put anything past my 'darling' sister. There are creatures in that school that would rip him to shreds without a thought. All the teachers and staff are druids, very amoral druids who wouldn't give a fig about a young human dying,"
"Pot... Kettle... black?"
"Very amoral druids who have no honour and would kill him in a heartbeat if it served them. I am surprised he isn't dead already. We have to get him out of there and get him home."
"Home?! To Beacon Hills?! She would kill us all, if what you say is true."
"No, not back there. I can buy us one here. If we are to be a pack then we need a pack house anyway. This city can become our home. You never know who may join. Maybe we can even get Derek and his boyfriend to join us. Derek hasn't trusted his mum since he was passed over for his idiot of a sister and her pet lost pup, 'true alpha' Scott.' Peters eyes flashed red in anger at Scott's name. Peter had always liked Derek the most out of his niblings- the calm, brooding but kind wolf who was always supporting and helpful.
"Derek has a boyfriend?! Since when was he gay?!" Gasped Aaron.
"Ever wondered why my 'darling' sister hates me? She is a homophobe and hated me being with a man... though it may have been that he was a hunter. She would never accept Derek being gay, it is the same reason that Scott abandoned Stiles. The entire pack is full of homophobes and purists."
"But she never had any problem with me, she was always fine with me,"
"Well, at least you are bisexual, you have a chance to have kids and be 'normal'. Even if I always knew your mate was male, it seems Thalia was too blind to notice or just wilfully ignored it. She is very good at ignoring any problem that she doesn't want to deal with,"
"So you want to stay here and form a pack? With me and Alex and Derek and his mate?"
"Hopefully, but first we need to get your brother out of that hellhole of a school. You can see it wasn't exactly a good place for him, but knowing that she sent him here means it must have been bad."
"You don't know the half of it. He looked more like he had gotten out of prison than a school. I could see every bone and mark. He is just skin and bones, the scars are also terrible. Looks even worse because he is so small." Whispered Aaron, knowing that his father could hear him.
"Scars? What scars?"
"He didn't even seem to realise them. But he looks like he went toe to toe with a dragon or a pack of wolves. There are claw marks, bite marks and burns all over his body. I don't think he even said the half of it when it comes to how bad it was here. He said he doesn't have friends but from what I saw I think he has been bullied and abused, brutally."
"They hurt my pup! Once we get him out of here I am going to burn this place to the ground. I wish I could kill all these druid, then find a necromancer to bring them back just so I could kill them again." Peters face was half shifted in anger, red eyes aglow and his mouth full of sharp fangs.
"What's the plan?"
"Let's just go for direct, if not then we do it another way."
At this Peter walked through the gates of the schools vast campus, Aaron just behind him. As soon as they passed the ward line they both felt the magic of the wards pass over them. The perfect image of the school warped and changed in front of the; still beautiful but now just a bit more. The supernatural elements of the school were now visible. The lake with its fountain now had students practising magic on the banks, whilst what looks like kelpies and water spirits were swimming in the lake. Over the towers of the school another group were in the air, various types of winged supernatural playing a brutal bloody game almost a hundred feet up in the air. Peter followed the scent trail down the long drive until it brought them to a great oaken door which the two wolves stepped through.
Peter and Aaron had entered into a large entrance hall in the main building to find an arched and airy hall with elaborate stonework. The craftsmanship was most certainly beyond the skills of any humans, it was exquisite in its complexity, but flowing and elegant. The left side of the hall had a large reception desk with a silver crest showing the school coat of arms; a nemeton with a crescent moon on one side and a blazing sun on the other; the night and the day; dark and light. Behind the desk was a pale woman with black hair and red lips. She smiled at them, but the smile didn't reach her eyes.
"Welcome to Castellian Academy, how may I be of help?"
"We are here to see my son. I would also like to see the headmaster of the Academy if he is free, please." Peter stated, the added "please" was just for the added effect of pretending to sound polite but was clearly a thinly veiled threat and was not a request.
"We do not allow visitors without a prior appointment. And, unfortunately, the headmaster is a very busy man and cannot meet with parents unless there is an issue with the student in question."
"I would suggest you let me see my son, and get the Headmaster, otherwise we are going to start to have problems," Peter flashed blood red eyes whilst tapping his claws on the polished wood. The woman, who Aaron assumed was a vampire or a succubus looked slightly shaken at such an obvious threat but seemed to have the sense to know which battles to fight.
"What is your son's name, Sir?"
"Alex Hale. I am Peter Hale and this is his brother Aaron," Aaron flashed his golden eyes at the woman but it seemed she already knew what she was up against as at the mention of Alex's name she had paled even further. Having a father who was the most feared werewolf in America had its advantages it seemed.
"You are Peter Hale?" A small tremble to her voice, "You will find your son in H block. Down the corridor, out the door to my left. Walk across the quad and H block is to your right. He will be in his room which is H4." Peter nodded and strode down the corridor, leaving a very scared succubus in his wake.
