Work Text:
I scrubbed against the wooden floor with a sponge. The soapy water merged with the dark red liquid that was still fresh from this morning. The water smeared onto my yellow plastic gloves from the mess. I always hated getting myself dirty, especially over these kinds of messes. But no matter, I would fix it, I always fixed it before anyone noticed.
I looked down at the fading crimson color and the memory of my husband popped into my head. A smile formed on my face as I envisioned him in my mind. He always wore a little red hat over the top of his brown hair. His dark eyes would always light up like fire whenever he saw me. His hair was so soft whenever I would run my fingers through it. He was amazing.
The front door opened as a familiar voice filled the room. "Trish, cupcake, I'm home!" My husband called out. I knew immediately that he had returned home, my Mista was back. I focused back on the mess, scrubbing faster in order to finish quickly. "I'll be there in a moment!" I called back.
After some time, I eventually finished. I gathered up my supplies and tossed them into a bucket. I picked it up and carried it to the bathroom, hiding it inside of the sink's cabinets. I began to quickly cleanse my hands before drying them. I then hurried downwards, ready to greet my lover.
I arrived at the bottom of the stairs, a smile on my face. However, Mista didn't smile back, only staring. I felt my heart drop at seeing his glare and what he held, a green blood-stained jacket.
