Summary
The wind nipped and gnawed like teeth, clawing at the walls and scratching against the panes of glass, creeping into every room. The sun was setting. Its heat was lost to the world as the darkness began to blanket the castle. Bodies danced and moved about the maple tables and chairs, wood scraping against the crumb-littered floor. The firelight fluttered around the room, bathing everyone in a warm glow as songs and intoxicated bellows rang from the cracks in the walls. Many still drank and sang in memory of Haven and for those lost within. It was loud. But not in the way one might expect.
"You're telling me Creepy can't swim? Really can't swim?" Sera blinked a moment, gaze still set on the concerned pair of emerald eyes across the table looking back at her. "Right, well. You 'ave fun with that. I'm not getting anywhere near it, sorry. That's more than I want bouncing around in my 'ead. That's like double wrong, innit?" She excused herself with a scrunched and displeased expression, the wooden chair scraping against the tavern floor in protest as she stood. Narquelion grumbled a bit to himself as she departed back up the stairs and out of sight.
