Ever since they came out, Logan had felt more comfortable in their own skin. They were more open, allowing themself to experiment with things like new hairstyles and the like. Nothing extreme; something a bit longer around the Mindscape, long enough to tie back. They made an effort to still go back around Thomas, though. Although everyone else in the Mindscape knew about their identity, Thomas didn’t. They weren’t nervous to come out to him, Thomas was incredibly understanding and supportive, after all. The opportunity simply hadn’t presented itself.
Logan was currently standing in their room, in front of the mirror that hung on their closet door. They smoothed out the fabric of the dark blue skirt they wore, smiling a little bit at the feeling of the smooth, somewhat soft material. It was a simple circle skirt, cut to their knees, with a black waistband. The Logical Side wore white knee-high socks, simple black sneakers, and a loose-fitting NASA T-shirt with the skirt; the shirt tucked in so it folded over the waistband of the skirt. They had their hair tied back in a simple ponytail, keeping it neatly away from their face. Logan bit their lip, and did a quick little spin in front of the mirror, just to see their skirt flare out and swish around their legs, before they sat at their desk and started to get a bit of work done. After an hour or so, Logan felt the familiar tug of Thomas summoning them, and they showed up without question in Thomas’ living room.
“Oh, Logan! You look so good!” Logan heard Patton say, the other Side practically squealing. Logan looked at Patton, before looking down at themself. They hadn’t taken the couple of seconds to swap out their current outfit and hairstyle for what they usually wore when showing up to assist Thomas.
“New look, Logan?” Thomas asked. He seemed a bit surprised, though Logan had expected that much.
“Simply trying something new, Thomas,” Logan curtly replied. “I could change, if this is, somehow distracting.”
“No, no! You’re totally fine!” Thomas quickly replied. “You look great! Doesn’t he, guys?”
He . Logan knew Thomas didn’t intentionally misgender them; Thomas didn’t know, after all. This was the perfect opportunity to speak up.
“They,” Logan said, feeling their heart beating a bit faster in their chest. “I am Agender, Thomas,” they told him.
“ Oh , oh my goodness, Logan!” Thomas exclaimed with a smile. “Thank you for telling me,” he stated.
“The opportunity presented itself, and, well I felt it was about time you know, seeing as everybody else does,” Logan replied with a very subtle smile.
“You guys all…?” Thomas prompted, looking towards Patton, Roman, and Virgil.
“Yep,” Virgil simply responded.
“We did,” Roman confirmed. “Remus, Janus, and the others, too.”
“They told us back in December,” Patton added.
“Well, I’m glad you all brought me into the loop,” Thomas said, still smiling a bit. “Is there anything else I need to be brought up to speed on?”
It only took a second for Logan to recall the meaning of Thomas’ figure of speech. They were slowly getting better with that sort of thing. “Aside from the fact I prefer They/Them pronouns, I don’t believe there is anything pressing on my end,” they stated.
“Noted. Anyone else?” Thomas prompted. The other Sides simply shrugged, shaking their heads a bit. “Alright, well, with that all sorted out, let’s get back to the actual issue on the table, huh?”
The other Sides agreed, and the group got to work. Logan couldn’t help but notice they felt just a bit lighter, in a metaphorical sense, of course. Thomas finally knew who they were, and unsurprisingly supported them. It only hit Logan after Thomas’ problem was solved that it likely would have taken even longer to get the truth out into the open if they hadn’t been trying something new with their appearance today.
