Work Text:
Jungwon was told to wait at the front of the school, Sunghoon said it'll be quick. But it's been more than an hour already, skies that were blue and had soft wispy clouds swirling in it has turned to an ombre of orange to pink with no clouds in sight. Jungwon was getting impatient.
However he was always known to be the opposite, always being patient with other people who have a hard time with learning things, would be able tolerate bullies and more. But that was because he was having a great day and was in a good mood (which is almost all the time). Today though, Jungwon had important things to do, assignments to finish, food to cook and most importantly, sleep. Jungwon was more tired than usual today, probably because he stayed up studying later than usual, but he was nice enough to wait for Sunghoon
Jungwon bit his lower lip multiple times, tapping his right foot, he was restless. The elder wasn't usually this late. Sunghoon was always punctual even if something important came up suddenly. He would always find a way to be on time.
Was he sent to detention or something? He thought.
But the elder doesn't get into trouble that easily from what Jungwon knows about him. Sunghoon was always good natured and still is. Always helping people even if he's busy, he really has such a kind heart. A real angel, Jungwon would say. So what was the hold up?
Jungwon doesn't know the answer to his own question, he wished he did though because his curiosity is driving him insane.
He reached for his phone in his back pocket, and turned it on. Jungwon flinches as the white screen flashes in his face.
Damn, should've turned the brightness down earlier...
Jungwon slides it open with his thumb and goes straight to his contacts, trying to find the older's name. Once he found it he pressed the green button, calling Sunghoon.
There was no response to the first call.
Why isn't he answering...
Then when Jungwon tried a second time he didn't hear Sunghoon's sweet and low voice he would always hear, it was someone entirely different.
They had a much more angered tone compared to Sunghoon's. The elders voice is angelically soft but at the same time somewhat deep. This person's voice is just so high pitched and annoying to hear.
"Who the fuck is "My Love" Sunghoon? You're girlfriend?" They teased.
Sunghoon has a girlfriend? How come I didn't know this...
He sulked in his thoughts but quickly stopped to listen into the conversation, wanting to hear more of what's happening.
"For a pretty boy like you, bet she's pretty. Better hand her over to me, or you'll get more than just a beating Sunghoon." The person continued and ended it with an evil chuckle.
Jungwon wanted to know more about this "girlfriend" of Sunghoon's, just his curiosity running again. But once he heard that Sunghoon will get something more than just a beating made him furious. He couldn't bear the thought of Sunghoon getting hurt, not on his watch. Jungwon won't let it happen.
"I have to find Sunghoon right away." He muttered and immediately ran to the back of the school where bullies, or people looking for a fight, usually are so why not try there.
It looked like it will take a while to run to the back of the school, the building was HUGE on the inside so naturally it'll be wide and long, but Jungwon doesn't want to waste time, he needs to be with Sunghoon and protect him.
Jungwon was slowly running out of breath, legs aching, he wanted to stop for a few minutes. But his stubbornness did not let him, and Jungwon was glad of that.
As he neared his destination he didn't hear anything out of the ordinary, which was good. The one beating him might've left.
Jungwon's guess was right, they did leave. All he saw when he finally reached the back of the school was a beat up Sunghoon staring at Jungwon, it looked like he just cried judging by his puffy eyes and his slightly red nose.
It was a heart breaking sight to see for Jungwon, tiny knives poked his heart. A punishment for leaving Sunghoon alone, not even bothering to calling him to know where Sunghoon was after an hour past. Poking fun of him for leaving his friend to suffer. He deserved this pain.
"Hyung!" The younger said as he ran up to him.
"O..Oh, hi wonie..." He said, voice a little shaky.
Wonie...
He smiled in the inside at the nickname the elder gave him, but it's not like this is the first time he's said it, multiple times actually. Every time he said it though, it would give Jungwon this warm feeling in his heart, beating as if he ran a marathon. And this time is no different, it removed his heartaches, removing the tiny knives and replacing it with a warm tight hug. It felt nice.
But he can't keep thinking about this, there's a beat up Sunghoon he has to take care of.
"Hyung...why didn't you tell me you were getting bullied. I could've been there to help you." He reached up to cup Sunghoon's face, caressing it with his thumb.
His face is warm.
"I didn't want you to get hurt..that's all..." He looked over Jungwon's shoulder, avoiding eye contact.
"I'm good at taekwondo hyung, I'll beat those bitches up with no problem at all!" He lets go of Sunghoon's face and kicks the air with his leg to show the older he got the guts to do it, making Sunghoon look at him and chuckle at the cute action.
"No need wonie, it's fine..." He uttered tiredly, but still managed to look at the younger and smile at him, those beautiful eyes of his crinkling into crescent moons. Giving Jungwon that same warm, tight hug in his heart.
The younger then looked up and down at the older's black and purple bruises that person left on Sunghoon's body (mainly his arms and face) with a fiery glare, pissed off that they would even do such a thing to Sunghoon.
"Can I touch it?" He asked as his glare softens back to his cute cat-like eyes.
Sunghoon nodded to the question, which gave Jungwon the cue to touch one of his bruises on his cheek.
Jungwon's hands were cold at the time so when he touched Sunghoon's warm face, the older hissed at the icy feeling.
"Why are your hands so cold?" Sunghoon asked as he put his own hand ontop of Jungwon's, touching it to give him some heat from his hand even though it didn't work much. His own hand was cold too.
"I can ask the same to you." He responded, not dismissing the concerned face on Sunghoon, waiting for an answer.
"Ah..it's really nothing hyung, it isn't as important as your horrible bruises, now c'mon we're going into the bathroom to clean the dried up blood. Then we'll take you to the nurse." Jungwon said as he grabbed Sunghoon's wrists and ran into the school building's closest door, pulling him in.
Luckily, the school was still open at this time, at least that's what he thought. The doors were able to open and there were still some students inside.
They both walked into the closest bathroom, which was conveniently near the entrance they came from. No one would see how much of a mess Sunghoon is right now.
Once they were inside, Jungwon grabbed a white cloth he had in his pocket and headed to the sinks, Sunghoon following suit. Jungwon ran warm water all over the white piece of cloth. While Sunghoon just stood there, watching him in silence.
Jungwon squeezed the cloth until it was both somewhat wet and dry. He then turned to Sunghoon and gently dabbed the cloth on his face, cleaning off some old blood. Thankfully there wasn't a lot, so he didn't have to clean much.
Then the younger got interested in Sunghoon's bruises, wanting to know how much it hurted, how much pain that person put on Sunghoon so he can inflict that same amount of pain on them. Jungwon always liked revenge.
"Does it hurt when I do this hyung?" He asked, in a soft tone while pushing the cloth on a certain part of his face with a little pressure, making sure not to injure Sunghoon any more than he is.
"No, but something else hurts..." He said, a small grin slowly creeping in, Jungwon being totally oblivious to it.
"Where? Here?" He dabbed it on the side of his lips where a small, light red bruise is shown.
"No, here." He grabbed Jungwon's free hand at his side and brought one of the fingers up to his face, pointing at his perfectly fine lips.
"It looks okay to me hyung?" Jungwon tilted his head in confusion, making Sunghoon interally scream from the cuteness.
Jungwon wasn't one to always act adorable on purpose like Sunoo does. So when the younger just does it out of the blue Sunghoon melts in the inside.
God he's so adorable, he thought.
"Though it may look okay, it doesn't feel okay..." This time he's staring in Jungwon's eyes, no longer avoiding his eye contact like he was moments ago.
"Maybe kiss it better for me?" He jokingly pouted, but he certainly wasn't joking about getting a kiss from Jungwon.
The younger's face becomes flushed with all shades of pink, soon becoming red the more he thinks about kissing Sunghoon. He just couldn't believe what Sunghoon's doing right now, while he's hurt of all times! Jungwon would gladly do it, if he was confident enough and when it isn't in this situation.
But he doesn't think he can do it even when he was confident, because Jungwon is never confident when he wants to confess to his crush. Not like Sunghon was his crush anyways.
He is his crush, but this boy won't admit it.
"Well ye-" He wasn't able to stop himself from saying that, cursing himself in his head. Jungwon hopes Sunghoon didn't hear that.
He did.
"Wait this isn't the time to joke a..around!" He stuttered, interally faceplaming himself.
"Awe is wonie shy~" He teasingly uttered.
Jungwon looked at the ground, cloth off of the elder's face, head hanging down, face red from what Sunghoon said. Jungwon wanted to run away and hide, this was too embarrassing for him. Not only did he blush really hard, but stuttered too! Making him look like a complete idiot who is helplessly in love but is too shy to do anything about it.
At this time he would have a plan to get himself out of situations, but when it comes to confessions he didn't know what to do. So he shoved the cloth in Sunghoon's face just to distract the older before he does something else to make his heart beat triple than before,
"You wash your face yourself, a..and I am NOT kissing it better for you..." He turned his whole body away from Sunghoon, doing what he said he would.
But it didn't take long for him to turn back. His curiousity was running again, Jungwon wanted to know if he followed what he said. Jungwon gets curious for the dumbest thing and this isn't the first time either. Sadly he can't stop it. He's just a curious little cat stuck in a boy's body.
As soon as he turns to face the elder he is met with Sunghoon's face right in front of his.
Definitely did not follow what he said earlier.
Jungwon wants to turn back time where he was before, not looking at Sunghoon. He should've stepped away, pretend to go pee, just SOMETHING to avoid Sunghoon's flirty antics. But here they are, face to face.
They couldn't just stare at each other, that's just awkward for both him and Sunghoon. He had to say something, or at least ask what he was doing.
"H..Hyung what are you-" Sunghoon kissed his forehead, pausing Jungwon in the middle of his sentence.
The forehead kiss was so sudden, he didn't know how to react and so he just stood there, shades of red starting to bloom on his face once again. Literally malfunctioning under Sunghoon's soft kiss to the forehead.
But then he started to think about how it would feel againist his own lips, imagining their lips clashing together. Moving at the same pace, almost in unison, kissing each other for as long as they can like their life depended on it.
But Jungwon's little daydream of his came to a stop as Sunghoon's warm forehead kiss was then replaced with the cold air in this bathroom.
"Hope that was able to heal your worry in your heart wonie, I didn't mean to make you worried earlier..." He look at Jungwon with sincereity.
It's been healed, just by your smile and presence alone it was able to calm my aching heart.
"Y..You worried me alright! But...you don't need to apologize hyung. It's okay." He smiles at Sunghoon, reasurring him.
"Ah, you're so cute wonie." He looks at the younger, so endeared by him that he squishes his cheeks.
By the time Sunghon came to squish his cheeks, Jungwon would've thrown a fit. He absolute did not like to be babied, Jungwon likes to act tough, even if it was Sunghoon doing the babying.
But he was showing his beautiful eye smiles at him, the one Jungwon loves the most. The ones that would crinkle up into little crescent moons. Those would always be engraved in his mind. Whenever he passes by the moon, it'll always remind him of Sunghoon.
Jungwon will let it slide for now, he likes to see his hyung happy.
My little moon, you're so cute. He thought, but of course he won't admit it.
