[Podfic] The Haggadot of Darcy Lewis

Summary:

[Length: 16:58]

Podfics of Lanna Michaels’ hilarious, poignant, and deeply relevant Passover fics, because I told myself I’d get this done by Pesach.

Author Summaries:
Part 1:
All right, listen up, folks. This is a story about kicking ass.

Part 2:
This is the bread of affliction that our ancestors ate in the land of Egypt. All who are hungry should come and eat. All who are in need should come and make Pesach. Now we are here, next year out of quarantine!

Notes:

I’ve been pretty MIA from fandom lately, mainly because my mental health crashed and burned around October, I think? I’m doing better but still figuring out a healthy fandom-life balance for myself right now, so can’t say when/if I’ll be back in any regular capacity.

BUT! I had bookmarked these fics for podding (thank you to Lanna for having blanket permission!) and for obvious reasons, wanted to get them out in time for Passover. So I got out my new headset mic and finally recorded something. And I’m gifting it to Rose because we’ve had Jewy fandom discussions on Discord back when I was still doing Discord, so I think this'll be up her alley :)

Plus, it helps that my dad recently wrote The Superhero Haggadah (with a lot of help from me!), which explores many of the same themes as these fics. With fewer swearwords :D

Chag sameach!

Music

I modified music from 3 places because I loved them all so much I couldn’t pick just one -

Opening music is taken from the audio on this amazing YouTube video of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra performing a Zoom-style Pesach Medley. (My favorite part is the baby vibing in the background of that viola player’s vid :D ) If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it.

Interlude music is taken from this hip-hop version of Dayenu by HipHopShabbat, because how awesome is that beat.

Closing music is this classic Dayenu performed by The Mensch Players.
