Work Text:
“i just-i just wish you could be home, hyung”, the pinkette mumbled, resting his chin on the pillow squeezed between his arms. “i know it’s not your fault but i miss you, gukkie”, he pouted, big eyes staring at jeongguk’s face through the screen.
jeongguk sighed, his heart breaking just that little bit more as he watched his husband’s pretty lips puff out into a pout and that made him wish he could just reach through the screen and pull the younger onto his lap to smother him in kisses.
“i know, baby”, he sighed, tracing his phone with his thumb off-screen. “i wish i could be home, too. i miss you so much, my angel. i’m hoping i can wrap up this trip soon. eight months really is too long to be away from you, love.”
“i want my koo to come here and spoon me”, the pinkette whined from the other end, making the older chuckle. taehyung usually loved to be the clinger and cuddler when they were sleeping but the younger found out that he much preferred to be the one being spooned whenever they were spooning.
“on another note, how is my baby doing in school?”, the ravenette smiled, glancing to beside his computer where a painting of him and taehyung on their wedding day that the younger painted sat. “any new projects recently?”
“ah, yeah!”, the younger exclaimed excitedly, clutching the pillow tighter, eyes darting away from the screen for a moment to look at his feet before he grinned and bent down to pick up a black and tan ball of fluff. “say hi to daddy, tannie”, the golden-skinned boy cooed, giggling when the pomeranian barked, wiggling around, asking to be set down and darting out of the room as soon as he was on the floor. “miss miriam wants us to paint something that depicts love to us. i was gonna paint you, ggukie but i think that would make all my classmates believe that i’m some sort of weird psycho who’s obsessed with you, oh mr world-renowned CEO.”
“you cheeky baby!”, the taller laughed, his nose scrunching up as he watched his husband giggling from the other side of the world. “just you wait until i’m home, i’m gonna get you!”
the laugh that the pinkette let out made the older’s heart clench, his eyes turning into crescents as he smiled at the smaller boy on the screen, though the laughter settled down into a slightly more gloomy environment.
“our anniversary’s two days from now”, the younger peeped quietly, his eyes quickly becoming glassy. “you won’t be home, will you?”
“i’m sorry, my sweet”, the ravenette sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose with his thumb and pointer finger. “i really wish i could be home with you, i would much rather be home and with you, but the CEO of the company that we’re partnering with is being a real bastard and prolonging this whole thing.”
“i know, bunny”, the pinkette murmured. “i understand and it’s okay, really, because i know you’d be home with me if you could and that’s all that matters.”
“god, how did someone as lame as i am, get lucky enough to have someone as amazing as you are agree to marry me?”, the older groaned, grinning at the laughter that floated through his speakers as a result before the moment was broken by the robotic ping of his phone going off in his hand. sighing, he quickly unlocked his phone to see that he had received a message from lee junghyuk, the man that has been dragging out this business trip due to his hesitation in signing the partnership contract.
taehyung sighed, his plump lips parted slightly and eyes sad. “you have to go, don’t you?”
“i’m so sorry, sweetheart”, the ravenette grumbled. “i’m convinced mr lee has a dick up his ass or he needs to stick his dick in a hole, lord knows he needs to loosen up.”
“oh my god, jeonggukie!”, the younger shrieked, eyes widening and jaw falling in shock at his husband’s words, though he was biting his inner cheeks to stop his giggles from bubbling out. “you can’t just say that about your business partners!”
“‘s not like he’s gonna hear me”, the older rumbled, winking at the younger. “but i really have to go now, love. don’t forget to make me proud, work hard, my baby bear.”
“i will, bunny”, the pinkette smiles softly. “and you , i hope you finally sort this deal out and not just because i miss you but i also know that this partnership will be great for the company.”
“mm, my pretty boy was supposed to inherit the company but you wormed your way out of it by marrying me and caused our parents’ companies to merge but i love you anyway, even if you are the reason why i have so many responsibilities at work. i have to go, i love you, my sweet, and i’ll see you soon, bye!”
“bye, bunny!”, the pinkette called, catching the older’s smiling face as he waved before the call was ended. sighing the younger clutched the pillow in his arms a little tighter, falling back onto the royal blue silk sheets, pulling the duvet over himself and clapping twice to switch off the lights before he buried his nose in the sweatshirt he was wearing, jeongguk’s sweatshirt.
the tell-tale sound of yeontan hopping up onto the bed and curling right beside his head could be heard as the dog padded around to try and get comfortable before he laid down, nudging the golden-skinned boy’s nose with his wet, black one.
“yeah”, the honey-eyed boy smiled sadly, reaching out to gently pet the black and tan pomeranian. “i miss him, too, tan-ah.”
ぬ
“and that’s a deal we have, mr jeon”, mr lee smiled professionally, picking up the black pen that had bangtan enterprises carved in gold on the side. “it’s a pleasure to be able to do business with you.”
jeongguk blinked in shock for a moment. lee junghyuk was a thirty-nine-year-old man with two daughters- six and ten respectively- who was incredibly difficult to please, it was the reason lee corporations partnered with few companies, mr lee was often underwhelmed with their propositions so it came as surprise when the older man agreed to jeongguk’s terms and signed the contract.
“you-you’re serious?”, the ravenette questioned, taking the older man’s hand and shaking it when lee presented it to him.
“of course i am, i signed the contract, didn’t i?”, lee chuckled. “why do you seem so surprised?”, he questioned, closing his other palm on top of the tattooed man’s hand.
“nothing, no”, the ravenette blinked, still in shock. “it’s just, the day after tomorrow is my first anniversary with my husband and i didn’t think that i would be home for it.”
“i didn’t know you’re married”, the older man smiled, tucking his hands into his pockets. “but i am glad that we managed to wrap this up before your anniversary and my wife will be happy to hear so, too. she is quite the romantic and always asks me if you, or any of my business partners, have someone. she’s a firm believer in the idea that there’s someone, a soulmate, out there for everyone.”
the taller chuckled, tucking one hand into his pocket as he used the other to stack his files. “yes, well, my soulmate just so happens to be my childhood best friend.”
“you must know each other very well then”, lee smiled.
“that we do, mr lee, that we do.”
“well”, the slightly shorter man reached out to pat jeongguk’s shoulder. “i’m afraid i must get going now, it’s my youngest daughter’s birthday party this afternoon.”
“well, wish her a very happy birthday from me”, the dark-eyed man smiled. “i should get going, i need to arrange a time to fly with my pilot tomorrow.”
“of course, of course”, the grey-haired man smiled. “once again, it was great to do business with you, jeon, i will be coming to korea in four months for our next meeting, yes?”
“of course, lee”, the younger man nodded, seeing the older man out. “i will see you in four months.”
he watched as the older man walked out his big double doors before pumping a fist in the air, a large grin overtaking his features. he took out his phone, ready to text taehyung before he paused, deciding that it would be better to surprise the younger. going to his favourites, he found yugyeom’s contact and immediately pressed call, hoping the other wasn’t still at the movie he mentioned he was going to be watching.
“sup, jk?”, he heard the brunette pick up the phone after a couple of rings.
“yug, how long will it take you to prepare the plane?”, the ravenette questioned, using his right hand to undo his tie while holding the phone with his left.
“uh, two to three hours”, the other stated, checking his watch from the other. “why are you asking?”
“yugyeom”, the older paused for a moment. “yug, we’re going home. we’re going home tonight.”
“you’re serious?”, the brunette exclaimed. “oh my god, jongin’s gonna be ecstatic! and i can’t wait to go home and see bam. i’m sure jongin can’t wait to get back to sehun. and you, jeon jeongguk, you get to be home for your anniversary.”
“yeah, yeah i do”, the ravenette grinned. “so i’ll be at the airport in two and half hours?”
“oh, absolutely!”, the younger grinned from the other side of the line. “and i’m going to remind you one more time. dress comfy, you really don’t want to spend a fifteen-hour flight in a suit.”
“i know, i know”, the taller chuckled. “see you soon.”
ぬ
they landed in seoul at eight pm the next evening, jeongguk hugging both his pilots before waving them off in the taxi they took, getting into his brother-in-law’s car and settling down in the leather seats.
“how was the trip, jeongguk?”, chanyeol questioned, smiling at him through the rearview mirror.
“absolute hell”, the younger grumbled, taking his face mask and hoodie off. “i don’t know how i managed to survive eight months without my baby bear, i swear, i am never doing that again. but, in other news, lee actually signed the contract.”
“you’re serious?”, the ginger-haired man questioned, whistling when the younger nodded. “goddamn. that’s the first partnership lee corporations has had in seven years, great job jeongguk.”
“thanks, hyung”, the ravenette chuckled, watching the bright lights of his large office building go by, smiling at how his chest filled with warmth. he even missed his own office.
“on another note”, chanyeol started again, making the dark-eyed man return his attention to him. “why are you staying with baek and i tonight? not that we don’t love having you over but i thought you would much rather go home and see tae?”
“that was my original plan”, the younger started, grinning softly. “however, i just got an email from his university while i was on the plane inviting me both to the art show and to give a lecture to the business students. i’ll be giving the lecture first, as it’s right after lunch, and then i’ll attend the art show. i want to see what my baby painted anyway, even though i know that it’ll be coming home in about a week’s time.”
“oh so you’re pulling the classic ‘i’m going to surprise the love of my life in a public area’ tomorrow?”, the ginger chuckled.
“yeah, hyung, i am”, the younger grinned, getting out of the car and rushing to the boot in the pouring rain to get two of his suitcases while chanyeol grabbed his duffle bag and backpack, the two of them making a run for it into the older man’s house.
“jeonggukie, hi!”, the ravenette heard as soon as he stepped into the house, toeing off his shoes.
“hey, baekhyun hyung”, the younger smiled, waving at the silver-haired man. “let me just take a shower and change first and then we can exchange hellos? because i’m sopping wet.”
“yeah, sure!”, baekhyun smiled, rushing down the stairs to take the ravenette’s duffle from his husband. “let’s just get you to your room and then i’ll start on dinner. there should still be quite a few clean clothes from when you left them here when we first moved in.”
that was another thing. because baekhyun and taehyung were so close, despite the ten-year age gap between them, the two brothers decided that he and tae should always have clothes at the park household so that either of them or both of them could sleepover at any time they wanted.
“thanks, hyung”, the dark-eyed man grinned as they entered his room. “i’m sure there are still some clean clothes, if not, i did wash quite a few things before i left new york.”
“great!”, the shorter smiled, placing his duffel on the bed. “i’m gonna go down and make dinner now, i’ll leave you, boys, to get cleaned up.”
the two watched as the silver-haired man bounded out of the room, chanyeol chuckling at jeongguk’s raised eyebrow.
“so much energy”, the younger grit out, though there was a smile playing at the corner of his lips.
“he’s excited you’re home”, the ginger grinned, patting the pale-skinned man’s shoulder. “and you act like your boy doesn’t have just as much, if not more energy.”
“fair enough”, the younger laughed, running a hand through his wet hair, pushing it back off his forehead. “tae’s definitely a handful.”
“and yet you still married him”, chanyeol smiled softly.
“i love him either way.”
“i know.”
ぬ
“so, jeongguk”, baekhyun started up as soon as they were all sat around the dinner table. “what’s your plan for tomorrow?”
the younger choked on his noodles slightly at the question. even if he and taehyung were married, questions like this, especially coming from the younger’s older brother, still made him nervous.
“uhm”, the ravenette started, wiping his mouth with a napkin. “i was thinking of surprising him during lunch tomorrow with flowers and then giving my lecture, attending the show after that, then we’d probably head home and freshen up, maybe cuddle for a little while if we have time before dinner.”
“did you make a reservation?”
“oh, come on, hyung!”, the taller grumbled. “i may not be some things but one of the things i am is definitely a gentleman.”
“that’s true, cinnamon roll”, chanyeol commented as he chewed on a few noodles. “i mean, he waited three years for tae to reach the age of consent before they ever did anything other than kissing, holding hands and cuddling. imagine what torture it must’ve been for him, a horny twenty-year-old with a minor boyfriend. he had to wait three years before he could get laid again, bambi”, the older teased.
“i made my bed when i chose to ask him out”, the dark-eyed man snapped, slightly embarrassed by what he was about to admit. “my fleshlight collection certainly grew tenfold during those three years.”
“gross”, baekhyun wrinkled his nose. “but what should i expect from you? your parents raised you right and i really admire you for staying loyal to tae even if you couldn’t have sex with him.”
“i’d be a fool to cheat on someone as incredible as he is”, the younger hummed softly. “and besides, just being with him is more than enough. sure, the sex is a great plus but i’d still choose him and his personality over sex any day.”
“and that is why dad and i had absolutely zero hesitation when you asked us for permission to marry tae”, the silver-haired man smiled. “but which restaurant did you make reservations at?”
“pierre gagnaire a seoul”, the tattooed man replied almost immediately, not looking up from his noodles.
“of course you had to make a reservation at the most expensive restaurant in all of seoul”, baekhyun grumbled, picking up a slice of kimbap with his chopsticks.
“of course, love”, chanyeol replied, a proud grin on his face. “he only ever chooses the best for his baby.”
“shut it”, jeongguk bit back, obnoxiously slurping his noodles to annoy the couple, who both made faces at the sound.

taehyung sighed, checking his phone for the thousandth time that day. last night he had gotten a text from jeongguk telling him that they wouldn’t be able to call because the ravenette was going to be in a meeting for four hours and that morning when the pinkette woke up, there was no ‘happy anniversary’ text or even a ‘good morning, baby, have a nice day at school’ like the older usually sent every morning. the honey-eyed boy tucked his phone into the pocket of his lavender slacks and checked his reflection in the mirror, fixing the collar of his sheer, baby blue blouse (he was wearing a white t-shirt underneath because he really didn’t need the whole school seeing his nipples or getting dress-coded by a teacher) before closing his locker and trudging out to the university grounds to look for his friends, finding them sitting in a semi-circle under a cherry blossom tree, quickly walking towards them and unceremoniously flopping down next to jimin.
“what’s wrong tae?”, the orange-haired boy immediately asked, lifting his head off of yoongi’s shoulder, causing the mint-haired man to look away from hoseok at the sudden loss of weight and heat.
park jimin. taehyung’s platonic soulmate. also happens to be dating professor jung hoseok and professor min yoongi, though the university didn’t care because jimin was in neither of the two’s classes. while the redhead taught dance, he leant more into hip hop whilst jimin was a contemporary student and yoongi taught piano and producing, the orange-haired boy took guitar.
“nothing”, the youngest flashed jimin what was supposed to be a smile but turned out to be more of a grimace, causing the older to raise an eyebrow and give him a look. “today’s just an important day i share with someone but they’re out of the country right now and we can’t celebrate together.”
jin, sitting across from the pinkette, gasped dramatically, placing a hand over his heart with a fake hurt expression on his face. “even more important than the anniversary of our group getting together?”
“sorry, jin hyung, but yeah”, the younger smiled, namjoon and yoongi raising their eyebrows at that and jin, hoseok and jimin looking genuinely slightly hurt, not knowing what could possibly be more important than their friend group despite the six of them only becoming friends midway through the first term last year.

as yugyeom pulled up in the ravenette’s car in front of the university, jeongguk was silently freaking out in the back seat. he may be a world-renowned CEO, known for his confidence and cool exterior but he really was just a weak, weak man for his husband and he hated seeing the younger cry, even if they were happy tears. that and the fact that he was afraid the pinkette might scream at him for not texting him a good morning.
“jeongguk”, yugyeom called, seeing how nervous the man was in the rearview mirror. “it’s gonna be fine, he’s going to be happy to see you.”
the ravenette grimaced. “i’m more worried about him shouting my ear off than anything else really, yug.”
“yeah, that makes more sense now”, the brunette chuckled, stepping on the brake gently. “but, here we are. are you gonna leave the flowers here or take them? and are you going to put on your tie and jacket or wait until you have to give your lecture?”
“i’ll wait”, the dark-eyed man responded, rolling the sleeves of his white button-up shirt to expose his forearms, one of them tattoed, before unbuttoning the first two buttons of his shirt. “it’s a nice and warm day today, i don’t feel like sweating into my expensive blazer. and the flowers stay, i’ll fetch them in a bit.”
yugyeom nodded before unlocking the doors of the car, allowing jeongguk to step out into the warm spring day, a nice breeze was blowing and the cherry blossom trees were just starting to bloom, the sky was a bright blue and the sun was shining softly with very few clouds.
a couple of teachers spotted the businessman and walked over, confused as to why he arrived two hours early (yes, the university had a two-hour long lunch break).
“mr jeon”, one man said. “you’re here very early.”
“oh, i’m well aware”, the younger man smiled politely. “i just happen to be looking for a hot pinkette who should be here somewhere.”
“a hot pinkette?”, a female teacher questioned, slightly confused.
“yes”, jeongguk hummed, looking around and spotting the mop of pink hair he just so happened to be searching for. “who just so happens to be right there. i’ll see you guys later.”
the ravenette immediately took off running towards the small group of people sat under the blossom tree.
ぬ
“jin hyung, come on!”, the youngest whined, a pout on his face. “i know a great wedding planner and i have a bunch of contacts for a whole bunch of different things. please let me send them to you?”
“i’m sorry, tae-ah”, the purplette sighed. “it’s not that i don’t trust you but joonie and i are stressed, we really don’t need to start planning our wedding now.”
“uh, yes you do”, the youngest scoffed. “take it from me, the sooner you start planning the less stressful it’ll actually be when you reach the set wedding date. aslo the chances of you getting a better venue are much higher.”
“how do you know all this?”, yoongi questioned, confused out of his mind, only receiving a shrug and a sly smile from the pinkette.
“uh, tae”, namjoon murmured. “don’t look behind you but there’s some guy in formal clothing running towards us.”
“it’s probably bogum”, the golden-skinned boy muttered, rolling his eyes. “he probably thinks that dressing up will get me to say yes to him. it won’t.”
“yeah, why don’t you say yes to him?”, jimin questioned, eyes confused. “i know he’s not exactly the ideal partner but you’re single , tae tae.”
“well…”, the pinkette mumbled.
“don’t tell me you’re not single”, hoseok gasped, watching as the younger smiled shyly.
“hi”, another voice breathed. “you must be the hot pinkette i’m looking for?”
“what in the-”, the youngest whipped around, ready to throw hands when he froze, breath hitching at the sight in front of him.
“i heard you ordered me online?”, jeongguk teased, a fond look in his eyes. “i was sent over by airmail.”
“oh my god”, the younger sobbed, standing up and wrapping his arms around his husband’s neck, the older immediately firmly wrapping his own arm’s around the smaller’s waist, his right hand gripping the honey-eyed boy’s hip.
“hey, shh”, the ravenette murmured softly, rocking back and forth. “don’t cry, shh, don’t cry, it’s okay, i’m here, i’m home.”
namjoon’s lips parted in shock as he realised who was standing in front of them, wrapped around their youngest friend and he immediately shot up, ready to introduce himself. he may be older than the businessman but the pale-skinned man held a very high position internationally.
“hi”, jeongguk grinned when he noticed one of the five other people standing up.
“hello”, namjoon smiled politely. “kim namjoon, head of the classic’s department here.”
“jeon jeongguk, as you know”, the tattooed man grinned, still holding onto his husband with his left arm, reaching out his right hand for the older man to shake. “if you’re kim namjoon that means you’re older than me, yes?”, he questioned, continuing when the blond nodded. “then is it okay if i call you hyung?”
“absolutely”, the blonde smiled, slightly confused as all he had heard about the CEO was that he was considered aloof, which was a complete contrast to what he was experiencing right now. “more than okay”, he added, realising jin was standing beside him. “oh, and this is my fiance.”
“hi, kim seokjin”, the purplette smiled, shaking the dark-eyed man’s hand when it was offered to him. “head of the culinary department.”
“so i’ve heard”, the ravenette smiled. “i’ve also heard you make very good food, better than many top-notch restaurants internationally in taehyung’s words. maybe we could all have dinner together sometime, hyung?”
“of course”, the older grinned, excited. “i didn’t know you think so highly of my cooking, tae-ah.”
“mhm”, the pinkette sniffled, face still buried in jeongguk’s chest, making the taller laugh.
“give him a few minutes”, he murmured, smiling down fondly at the younger.
“uhm”, hoseok started, standing up and dusting his pants off. “jung hoseok, from the dance department. i teach hip hop.”
“oh, yes, hyung”, jeongguk smiled at the redhead. “tae’s mentioned that you’re a very good dancer. we should dance together sometime.”
“you dance?”, the older questioned, shocked at the news though he wasn’t really sure why. he knew people weren’t truly the way the media painted them and the younger businessman was human, after all, he does have hobbies as well.
“yeah”, the dark-eyed man chuckled. “i’ve been dancing for as long as i can remember, i think it’s something like fifteen years?”
“lies”, taehyung sniffled, voice coming out muffled as he was still crying into the older’s chest. “it’s twenty-five years and you know it. don’t undersell yourself, you dumb cracker.”
yoongi snorted a laugh but quickly played it off as a cough, afraid that what he had done might have been rude (not that he really cared, he just feared kim seokjin’s wrath).
“alright, yes”, the taller chuckled. “i’ve been dancing for twenty-five years, my parents enrolled me in my first dance class when i was two and i haven’t looked back ever since”, he grinned, turning to the mint-haired man beside hoseok. “and you must be yoongi hyung?”
the mint’s eyebrows shot up to his hairline as he uncrossed his arms and shook the younger man’s hand. “yes”, he muttered. “min yoongi from the music department. i teach piano and producing. i’m also hoseok’s boyfriend.”
“nice to meet you, hyung”, the ravenette got out awkwardly, afraid that the older didn’t like him.
“ignore him, hyung”, jimin suddenly piped up, squeezing between his boyfriends to get to the businessman. “he likes you, he’s just shy”, the shorter rolled his eyes. “park jimin, i’m-”
“-taehyung’s soulmate, yes?”, the tattooed man chuckled at the younger’s confused expression. “tae talks about you all the time. apparently, you have a taste for professors”, he teased, eyes flitting over to hoseok and yoongi.
“yes, well”, the orange-haired boy flushed red, hoseok chuckling and pulling him into his side in response. “i suppose i do”, he replied, taking one of yoongi’s hands in his.
jeongguk laughed, throwing his head back and squeezing the boy in his arms a bit tighter, looking down at him and stroking the back of his pink hair with his right hand before tucking a strand of hair behind the smaller’s ear, fingers brushing along the silver earring that was dangling from the honey-eyed boy’s ear.
“you still crying, tae?”, he murmured.
“nope”, the shorter sniffled. “‘m just chilling.”
jin giggled at the smaller’s response, the others flashing fonds smiles before yoongi made a face.
“tae”, he muttered. “bogum creeping at one o’clock.”
“oh god, no”, the younger whined, pulling away and quickly wiping his eyes and nose with the handkerchief jeongguk handed him. “today of all days.”
“hey, baby”, the brunette drawled, making the pinkette wrinkle his nose.
“whatever it is this time, it’s still a no, bogum”, the younger grumbled, rolling his eyes and fixing his sleeve.
“oh come on, hottie”, the brunette grumbled. “i even dressed up all nice for you today.”
taehyung scoffed at the other’s definition of ‘dressing up’. it was simply a plain t-shirt tucked into a pair of slacks. if that was the brunette’s idea of dressing up the younger didn’t even want to know what the other looked like when he wasn’t dressing up since he looked no different than he usually did.
“not to be rude or anything”, jeongguk suddenly butt in. “but he already said no. several times from what i’m gathering. so if you would please leave”, the ravenette stated, a sickening smile on his face, a smile that made taehyung shudder as he remembered what happened to the last person who was on the receiving end of that smile.
it was the pinkette’s high school senior that had last been given the smile. the boy had cornered the golden-skinned boy in an alleyway and was trying to take off his clothing when jeongguk had shown up, absolutely ballistic because he had been going out of his mind at the office when taehyung wasn’t picking up his calls or responding to his texts when the ravenette knew that the younger’s classes were over.
the senior ended up in the emergency room where they had to wire his jaw back together.
“excuse me?”, the brunette questioned, acting all entitled. “i’m trying to have a chat with my boyfriend here so if you would leave us alone.”
jeongguk scoffed as taehyung stared, disgusted.
“boyfriend, right”, the ravenette laughed, an underlying sadistic tone echoing in his voice. “nice try, but he doesn’t have a boyfriend.”
“you know nothing about him”, the other replied, acting all cocky. “who are you anyway? where did you come from?”
“oh, how rude of me”, the dark-eyed man murmured dangerously low, leaning forward so that his face was inches away from the brunette’s. “jeon jeongguk, CEO of bangtan enterprises and taehyung’s husband. nice to meet you, bogum .”
the other male’s lips parted in shock while jin’s eyebrows shot up to his hairline at the sentence.
“now i suggest you leave my husband alone if you don’t want to be working as a cashier in a store in the future since i can easily blacklist your name with just a snap of my fingers.”
bogum nodded quickly, nearly falling flat on his face as he tripped over his feet in his hurry to get away, the businessman rolling his eyes and turning to the group of friends, the others looking shocked and confused at what just happened while taehyung’s eyes were glazed over and his lips were parted before his tongue darted out to wet them.
“fuck, that was hot”, he breathed, staring up the older who had an eyebrow raised. “do it again?”
“oh god, not here, my sweet”, the ravenette laughed, leaning down to press a peck against the pinkette’s forehead. “now i’m going to fetch something. i’ll be back in just a moment”, he continued, walking away.
“what just happened?”, namjoon questioned. “husband? tae, why did he say husband? he could’ve just said boyfriend and bogum would’ve left you alone…”
“actually”, the pinkette was cut off by jeongguk returning, an untied black tie hanging around his neck, his blazer slung over his left shoulder and an enormous bouquet of tiger lilies, marigolds, pansies, snapdragons and zinnias in his right, a little out of breath. “hey-how’d you get back here so quickly?”
“yug saw where we were and drove to the corner so that i would be able to get back here almost immediately”, the ravenette responded, clearing his throat as his husband peeked around his shoulder, noticing the brunette in the car with the window rolled down.
“hi, yuggie hyung!”, he called, waving as his face lit up.
“hey, taetae”, the older male yelled back, laughing. “i’ll just go park the car now, bye!”
the group of friends stared as the male rolled the window back up and took off down the street in the black mercedes, yoongi whistling at the impressive car.
“that must’ve been expensive”, he commented, a small amused smile appearing on his face when taehyung nodded quickly.
“it was”, the youngest piped up. “it cost ggukie one-hundred-and-sixty-one-thousand US dollars.”
“that’s definitely a lot of money”, hoseok agreed, eyes drifting back to the bouquet. “nice flowers”, he grinned, reminding the ravenette of their existence.
“oh, right”, the tattooed man chuckled, turning to taehyung and holding the flowers out. “for you, my love”, he smiled softly, wrapping his left arm around the smaller’s waist when the other stepped forward shyly to grab the large bouquet from him. “happy first anniversary, sunflower, i love you so much, my baby bear.”
“i love you too, jeonggukie”, he whispered, eyes fluttering closed as the older pulled him even closer, the pinkette tilting his head up slightly as the taller connected their lips in a gentle kiss. it was quick and soft, lasting only about three seconds but it meant the world to the two of them, their first kiss in eight months.
“okay, now we’re definitely missing something”, jimin floated hesitantly once the two lovers had pulled away. “i can clearly see that you two are together but i just can’t seem to grasp how...i also didn’t know that the famous CEO jeon jeongguk is dating someone, let alone the fact that he’s dating our taehyungie.”
“actually”, the dark-eyed man chuckled, looking over taehyung’s head at all of his equally baffled and confused friends. “i’m married to your taehyungie”, he smiled, lifting his left hand, squeezing taehyung’s hip slightly to coax him to do the same. “today’s our first anniversary, as you heard.”
“now i’m even more confused”, hoseok groaned. “how did you two even meet?”
taehyung giggled from his spot in jeongguk’s arms as he stared at his hyungs, a shy blush adorning his features. “actually, i don’t remember our first meeting but gukkie does.”
“how do you not remember your first meeting with your significant other?”, jin teased, the CEO laughing at the comment.
“i think that has something to do with him quite literally being a newborn baby, hyung”, the tattooed man laughed. “after all, i got to hold tae before his grandparents ever did.”
“you’re joking”, namjoon gaped as he stared at the two.
“no, i’m not”, the younger grinned. “we grew up together. taehyungie’s always been my best friend, right, love? always following your hyung around, always clinging to me. i remember you used to say you wanted to be just like me when you grew up only to decide that that was a horrible idea at ten years old when you realised you would have to take business”, he laughed, teasing the smaller boy.
“oh, shut it”, taehyung grumbled, though there was a smile playing at his lips.
“mm, no”, the ravenette grinned devilishly. “my favourite memory is when you first asked your parents about love. you were eight at the time and they told you that one day you’d meet someone that you’ll marry and love forever and what did you respond with, bubs?”
“‘but i want to marry googie hyung when i grow up’”, the younger mumbled, skin flushed from his chest to his ears as he recalled the memory.
“and you got to do that exactly”, the taller smiled softly, nosing his husband’s hair before pressing his lips to it softly.
jimin cooed, clutching the left side of his chest dramatically as he watched the two, causing taehyung to roll his eyes, the orange-haired boy making an exaggerated gasping sound at the response.
“don’t you roll your eyes at me kim taehyung!”, he scolded playfully. “i can’t believe you would do such a thing after i just listened to the most adorable love story in history’s existence.”
“how long have you two been together?”, yoongi suddenly questioned. “counting the years you were dating?”
“seven years”, taehyung responded, all happy and perky. “right, hyung?”
“that’s right, baby”, the older cooed softly, pecking his husband’s head once again because he could. “i first asked him out when he was fifteen and we haven’t looked back ever since. i asked him to marry me on this exact day two years ago and we got married last year. actually, it’s also the anniversary of the day we first got together.”
“ggukkie’s sappy like that”, the younger added, the pale-skinned man rolling his eyes at the comment.
“seven years…”, hoseok trailed off, eyes confused. “but aren’t you twenty-seven right now, jeongguk?”, the redhead questioned the younger, who grinned sheepishly.
“i knew you guys would ask that”, he buried his face in taehyung’s hair, slightly embarrassed. “but yes, i was twenty when i first asked tae out…”
“oh, uhm…”, the oldest of the group mumbled, the purplette unsure how to react to that statement. taehyung, noticing everyone’s hesitation decided to speak up.
“he was adamant about no sex, though”, the pinkette peeped softly. “three years. he refused to touch me in any way that was remotely sexual for three whole years. you can ask bakhyunnie hyung and channie hyung if you don’t believe me. heck, you can even ask my parents”, the shorter continued, leaning back to bump his husband’s nose with his head softly, the older wrinkling it in response, chuffing a laugh. “let me tell you, it was horrible for my horny teenage ass because jeongguk was walking around looking like the sexiest man to ever grace the planet but i’m willing to bet it was absolute torture for gukkie… i mean, i wouldn’t leave him alone about it and he would just respond with ‘on your eighteenth birthday, sweets, i promise ’. safe to say he kept that promise.”
“wow…”, yoongi mumbled, processing the words for a moment. “a college student with a three-year dry spell?
“my peers were not amused”, the ravenette rolled his eyes. “but i’ve said it several times and i’ll say it again. it was never about sleeping with tae. for me, just being with him is enough, the sex is a bonus, yes, but i’d take being married to him over anything every day.”
“that’s so sweet”, jimin whined softly, cheek falling onto hoseok’s shoulder. “so tete lost his virginity to you?”
“yes”, the taller laughed, looking slightly sheepish. “i managed to convince my parents to stay over at the kim’s the night of tae’s birthday.”
the pinkette squealed a laugh as he recalled the memory, trying not to snort. “oh my god, you should have seen their faces”, the shorter giggled. “gukkie quite literally told them ‘mom, dad, i need you out of the house the night of tae’s birthday because i want to have sex with him’.”
“hey, how do you know this?”, the older groaned, face slumping forward to hide in the back of the smaller’s neck.
“momma told me”, he giggled, feeling jeongguk’s eyeroll.
“of course she did.”
“momma?”, namjoon asked softly, watching the two carefully.
“gukkie’s mom”, taehyung responded brightly. “my mother has always been eomma to the both of us and ggukie’s mom has always been momma.”
“stop talking”, the mint professor suddenly grumbled. “i’m going to have to visit both my dentist and my doctor this weekend to check that my teeth aren’t rotting or that i have diabetes.”
“yoongi, are you suggesting that they’re sweet?”, jin teased, catching the mint red-handed, the other only grumbling a ‘ shut up , jin hyung’ in response.
“i hope you made it romantic when you took my taetae’s virginity, jeongguk hyung”, jimin suddenly piped up.
“i certainly hope it was up to tae’s expectations”, the ravenette sighed softly, enjoying being able to feel his husband there with him once more.
“oh, it was far more than i expected”, the pinkette stated. “i mean, i already expected a nice dinner and then maybe jeonggukie would take me to bed but he went all out and i mean quite literally paying ridiculous amounts of money to hire a private chef for the night and doing the whole candlelit dinner thing on his back patio before taking me to bed, the whole bedroom being candlelit as well. he even had rose petals everywhere and gave me a couple of roses as well.”
“damn, if someone did that for me when i lost my virginity i would have married them”, jin whistled, grinning to himself. “but that’s exactly what you did, tae-ah, is in’t it?”
“mhm”, the younger nodded enthusiastically, jeongguk just smiling at his excitement. “but now will you let me send you all my contacts for weddings? especially since i know what it’s like?”
“yeah, bubba, you can send me the contacts of the people you know and i promise i’ll get in contact in the next month or two, yeah?”, the purplette smiled softly, trusting taehyung’s words from earlier. “now let’s actually eat lunch, yes? there’s still an hour left to our lunch break.”
“please, i’m famished”, namjoon groaned, jeongguk chuckling and reaching into his briefcase to pull out two containers.
“is that-”, taehyung questioned, looking up at his husband.
“yes, they’re baek hyung’s black bean noodles.”
“well, fuck the lunch i brought from home today, i’m eating those”, the pinkette exclaimed, making the others laugh as they all settled down into a circle, conversation continuing to flow freely.
ぬ
“that’s all for my visit, guys”, the CEO smiled from his space at the front of the class, the students groaning as the ravenette began packing up his files and papers, organising them in his briefcase. he was the first guest speaker that actually knew how to engage the class during his lecture. “i know, i know, there’s still so much more that i could teach you but i’m afraid i must attend the art show. my husband is one of the students presenting in the show and i’d like to be there when he does.”
“you’re married, jeongguk-ssi?”, a girl, jeongguk remembered her telling him to call her joy earlier on when she answered one of his questions, asked.
“yes, i am”, the older laughed, noticing how the girl next to joy, yeri if he remembered correctly, perked up at joy’s interest, immediately taking her hand and lacing their fingers together. “have been for a year now.”
“wow”, yeri commented. “do we, perhaps, know your husband? i know that most business students don’t know the students from the art department but maybe there’s a few of us who do.”
the tattooed man laughed as he closed his briefcase. “as i understand it he’s got quite the reputation for repeatedly rejecting park bogum.”
“no way!”, another voice from the back shouted, a boy named taemin if the older was remembering things correctly. “you’re married to kim taehyung?”
the ravenette nodded as he picked his bag up from the desk, pocketing his phone. “it’s actually jeon taehyung, he took my last name when we married, but yes, i am. bangtan enterprises was once jeon enterprises and kim corporations but they merged when tae and i sealed the deal. tae’s not too fond of business and his older brother already owns a restaurant, the responsibility of his parent’s company was meant to fall onto him but we all agreed that it would be better for our two companies to merge into one and that i would become CEO.”
excited and shocked whispers rang throughout the classroom before the professor decided it was high time to quiet the class down and let jeongguk leave.
“alright, alright”, she tutted, waving her hands and smiling when the whispers stopped. “that’s enough for today. i think we should all let mr jeon go but not without a thank you. he will be returning more in the future, don’t fret.”
“thank you, jeongguk-ssi”, the class called out together, a few faint ‘thank you, mr jeon’ and ‘thanks a lot, jeongguk-ssi’ could be heard afterwards as the businessman smiled and waved at the class, tucking his briefcase under one arm and walking out the door, turning left in the hallway and darting for his car to hand yugyeom his bag.
“go now!”, the brunette made a flapping motion with his hands once jeongguk had taken his tie and blazer off once again. “go support that adorable husband of yours, jeon jeongguk, shoo!”
“alright, alright, i’m going, jesus!”, the ravenette laughed, popping his top two buttons open once again and jogging in the direction of the large assembly hall that students from any department used as a showing room.
“hi, sorry”, the tattooed man walked up to a woman in a red cardigan with brown-rimmed glasses. “the art showing is here, yes?”
“jeongguk-ssi”, the lady exclaimed, slightly surprised to see him here. “i didn’t expect you to actually check out my students’ work.”
“ah, i wouldn’t miss it for the world”, the dark-eyed man smiled politely, nodding to the professor before he began to wander his way around the hall, eyes quickly scanning the art and the plaques, looking for the plaque labelled kim taehyung .
he had to admit, many of the younger’s classmates were very talented though it was clear that they were yet to find someone that could teach them how to love and love them in return. most pieces were of materialistic items, paintings and photos of books would come into view every few displays, clothing was showcased on mannequins, collectables were organised and placed on tables, stationary and pain sets were set out on other displays. the businessman let out a small chuckle when he came across a rather large sculpture of a frog, the plaque stating it was the student’s pet. it was nice to see that some students had chosen to display their pets in different media because animals, in a way, loved people back. a pet was family and, as much as jeongguk used to hate to admit, he had also become quite attached to yeontan.
just as he stopped to admire a life-sized wire sculpture of a great dane, his ears perked up when he heard his name mentioned. glancing out of the corner of his eye he noticed two college girls, one who looked slightly uncomfortable as she listened to what the other was saying.
“no, but seriously”, the auburn-haired girl said in a stage whisper. “CEO, older but not too old and he’s hot as fuck. i’m totally going to shoot my shot.”
“i don’t know, ayeong”, the dirty blonde mumbled. “don’t you see the ring on his finger? he’s married .”
“the media never talked about it so as far as i’m concerned, he’s not”, the other girl, ayeong, as he understood, retorted. “besides, all men are at least a little bit attracted to me.”
the ravenette snorted, noticing how the other girl looked away and bit her lip a slightly hurt expression on her face and he felt something swirling in his chest, realising with a start that the only reason the dirty blonde was still friends with the other was because she had feelings for her. he huffed a scoff as he noticed the auburn-haired girl making her way towards him.
“hi, i’m ayeong i was wondering if-”, she started though the older didn’t even glance at her, his response sounding bored and robotic.
“not interested”, the tattooed man retorted, lifting his left hand and flashing the golden band on his ring finger. “your friend is right, i am married. and i’m not the least bit attracted to you, i’m gay.”
“but-”
“i really don’t care.”
the girl looked offended before she stalked off in the opposite direction from jeongguk and her friend, who was approaching the older man.
“i’m so sorry for her”, the dirty blonde mumbled. “she’s… she’s been trying to prove she can get any guy she wants ever since her ex-boyfriend cheated on her.”
“you should convince her to get therapy”, the ravenette murmured. “help her get all that anger and frustration out and help her through her insecurities.”
“maybe…”, the girl trailed off. “i’m chohee, by the way”, she added, realising that she never introduced herself.
“well, chohee, i’m jeon jeongguk, as you know”, he flashed her a smile, the girl giving him a small grin in return, though her eyes were still trained on ayeong. “you should shoot your shot.”
“oh, i could never do that”, the blonde shied away from the words. “she’s not into me like that.”
“that’s what i said about my boy”, the older reassured her. “now we’re married.”
the younger chuckled, tugging a strand of her ponytail. “maybe one day.”
the two quieted down as the sound of a mic getting tapped on as the hall focused their attention on the stage at the very front of the room where the art professor was standing in her bright red cardigan and smiling at the crowd.
“good afternoon students, teachers and families alike”, she started. “welcome to the art show. it is time for me to announce which painting i think captures the true meaning of love the most. which is why i ask kim taehyung to now come up here to talk about his painting.”
the hall erupted into loud clapping and few excited cheers from some of the pinkette’s friends and jeongguk’s face almost split in half from how hard he was smiling as he cupped his hands to his mouth and started cheering for his husband.
“that’s my boy!”, he yelled, laughing when taehyung flushed pink, the smaller seeming to have heard his words, chohee looking over at the businessman in surprise.
“he’s your boy?”, she questioned, confused.
“yeah”, the ravenette grinned. “my husband.”
he thought he could hear a faint ‘wow’ coming from her direction but he was too focused on the pinkette shyly taking the microphone from his professor as the clapping died down and the hall settled into silence. the younger took a deep breath to calm his nerves, zeroing in on jeongguk’s proud smile as he stood and watched the honey-eyed boy up on stage and taehyung allowed his mind to clear.
“um, thank you”, he started, chuckling nervously as he wiped one of his clammy palms on his slacks. “uh, i’m a bit nervous if you couldn’t tell… but, um, i wanted to thank you, professor park, for choosing my painting over every other incredible art piece in this room, it is truly an honour.”
he paused, noticing his canvas had been placed on a stand just beside him, covered in a sheet, so he raised his arm and gently tugged the white linen down, revealing the painting.
“since the prompt that miss miriam gave us for this project was to paint something that depicts love to us”, the golden-skinned boy continued, nervously tucking a strand of his pastel hair behind an ear, “i decided to paint a relationship that is very important to me. when the project had been assigned and we received the prompt i immediately started looking through my photo album. specifically the one from my honeymoon.”
shocked whispers rang throughout the hall, miss miriam’s eyebrows shooting almost all the way up to her hairline at the words.
“i know it may come as a shock to many of you. i’m twenty-two, a college student and already tied down. a few of the parents might even say i’m too young to be married”, he paused again, smiling knowingly as he saw quite a few people nodding their heads, “but the truth is i never felt that way about my husband and i. he was my high school sweetheart or, technically, my childhood sweetheart since we have been best friends ever since i was born, and he’s supported me through every decision i’ve made and i have had the privilege of watching him grow from a hyung i admired to a lover i still admire very much, as he is now one of the youngest CEOs in all of south korea. and, despite the fact that we have fought many a time throughout the years, there hasn’t been a day that i doubted the fact that i wanted to marry him, not since i decided the fact when i was six years old.”
a series of ‘aw’s and endeared comments rang throughout the room as jeongguk smiled, admittedly tearfully, as he slowly began to approach the stage, slipping behind the curtain before he walked out, appearing beside the younger who turned to look up at him.
“and i promise you, that there won’t be a day in the future where i regret marrying you, jeon jeongguk”, the smaller choked out, the older letting out a sound between a sob and a chuckle as he wrapped one arm around his husband’s waist, the other going to the back of his head to pull him closer, allowing the pinkette to cry into his shoulder. “i love you with all of my heart”, the pinkette finished, voice still ringing through the sound system with microphone grasped in a hand that was perched on the older’s shoulder.
“and i love you to the moon, jeon taehyung”, the ravenette murmured, though his voice also echoed throughout the room, noticing miss miriam cautiously approaching them, asking the businessman with her eyes if he would like her to take the microphone away, to which he nodded curtly, gently prying the device from the younger’s hold and passing it over to the professor, who smiled gently. “let’s go home now, baby”, he whispered, lips brushing the shell of the smaller’s ear.
“i’m always home when i’m with you, gukkie”, came the soft response.
ぬ
“good morning, my love”, the ravenette grinned, looking up from his spot on the sofa in their living room, yeontan curled into a ball and pressing into the side of his thigh, seeking his warmth. the tiny dog had gone crazy when the businessman walked through the door, his tail wiggling so quickly the ravenette was afraid his backend might go flying off the floor for a moment, though he ultimately bent down and gave the black and tan pup a hug. “there are pancakes in the oven, i know how much you like your pancakes warm so put them in there on a low heat, just turn the oven off once you’ve taken them out, yeah, sugar?”
“mhm, gukkie”, the pinkette murmured, rubbing at his eyes that were all scrunched up before he patted his own puffy cheeks a couple of times to wake himself up, wandering towards their kitchen, the ravenette watching in satisfaction at his slight limp. it was safe to say their dinner yesterday went swimmingly and they ended the night tangled in the sheets with jeongguk cracking an occasional dirty joke here and there and taehyung giggling because they were just so stupid.
the older continued to watch with fond eyes as the smaller bent over slightly to reach the back of their fridge to take out the maple syrup, the hem of his (jeongguk’s) white dress shirt riding up slightly to expose golden thighs that were littered with purple and pink hues, the best form of artwork in the business man’s opinion, smiling to himself as the younger started making his morning earl grey.
“what’re you working on, babe?”, the smaller questioned, turning around with his mug in his hand, setting it down next to his plate of breakfast.
“i never got around to editing our wedding video”, the tattooed man responded, eyes fond as he scrubbed through the clips. “we promised that’s how we would reveal our marriage to the world and i intend to keep to that promise.”
“you are a man of your word, bunny.”
“always, my love.”
ぬ
“well, we’ve certainly broken the internet with that one, gukkie.”
