𝑻𝒘𝒐 𝑟𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒔 𝑳𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓

Gabrielle was over at Ben’s hideout, she doesn’t know why she even bothers to come anymore. Probably out of fear that he will do something to her as he did when she was fifteen.

“Hey I heard you and your boyfriend broke up.” He teased.

“Why does everyone like to gossip. It’s not like you care.” Gabrielle said, annoyed.

“Guess not.” He admitted.

𝑵𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝑫𝒂𝒚 𝑚𝒕 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒏

Randall was pacing around the room.

“Dude calm down, just give her some space.” Hamish said as he took a sip of his drink.

“He’s right.” Jack added.

“It’s hard to not be with her. I didn’t even do anything wrong! I want to fight for her.” Randall voiced loudly.

“But that’s not what she needs right now. We aren’t saying that you should give up 100% but just put it on pause for a bit but she is ready to talk to you again.” Jack said as he folded his arms as he took a sip of his drink and sat on the sofa.

“So until then I go back to what? being enemies with her?” Randall looked at him back, feeling irritated.

“No just be her friend as that is what she needs right now. A friend.” Jack walked towards him as he put a hand on his best friends shoulder.

“Can you do that?” Hamish stared at him.

“Yeah okay. Got it.” Randall sighed.

He hates when his friends are right.

Later that day at the temple Daniel was helping Gabrielle out with some temple duties.

“Thanks for the help.” Gabrielle looked over at him.

Daniel smiled as he looked over at her. “Anything for you. You doing anything later?”

Gabrielle smirked. “No. Why, what do you have planned?” She asked.

Daniel’s smile grew large.

Later that day in the temple as soon as Daniel left, Randall took this opportunity to talk to her.

Randall was rather nervous to talk to her.

“So, how are you?” He asked her, nervously.

“Okay and you?” She asked, wanted to avoid his eye contact.

“Good. So you and Daniel?” Randall challenged her as he looked at her.

Gabrielle scoffed. “What about it?”

Randall raised his eyebrows at her as he spoke at her bitterly. “He seemed rather flirty earlier with you. So what we break up for two weeks and he is already making moves on you.”

“He’s just being friendly.” Gabrielle explained, not understanding why he was acting this way.

Randall rolled his eyes at her. “Trust me his intentions are more than friendship wise with you. He’s in love with you, Gabrielle.” Randall eye’s shifted to hers as he looked at her in the eyes.

“I can’t believe you. So what now you are jealous and controlling who I hang out with?” Gabrielle raised her voice at him, clearly she was pissed off at him.

“That’s not what I’m doing.” Randall fought back.

“It doesn’t concern you. As you aren’t my boyfriend anymore.” Gabrielle sighed.

“I know that.” Randall said.

Gabrielle folded her hands as she looked at him in the eyes. “Look me and Daniel are friends, just like you and me. And it’s all you and me will ever be. Just friends.”

Randall slowly touched her arm. “You don’t mean that.” He voiced loudly as he looked at her.

“I do. We just weren’t good for each other. We aren’t meant to be.” Gabrielle added as she pushed his arm off her.

“I don’t believe that and neither do you.” He didn’t want to loose hope but how could he ignore what she was saying right in front of him.

“Let me go. Go be with Lilith and stop wasting everybody’s time and go be with her already.” Gabrielle turned her body away and walked towards Hamish and Jack to help them with some temple duties.

“Gabrielle.” He said loudly but she ignored him.

“Damn it!” Randall smacked his hand against the bar at the temple.

“Trouble in paradise?” Agnus asked as he noticed Randall was off.

“Mind your own bu –

“That’s what she gets for falling for a werewolf and becoming one herself.” Agnus said.

“Shut up.” Randall glared at him.

“You were doomed from the start.” Agnus admitted as he looked at him.

“Go to hell.” Randall said spitefully as he walked away from him and went back to doing some temple duties.

The resurrected are back and it is not a good sign. Recently there have been a lot of murder that has been happening at Belgrave campus. The Oracle Society are testing out their rituals and experiments on people.

This will lead to more chaos and more destruction.

𝑫𝑬𝑵

“Guys I just heard from Vera. Murder has been happening on Belgrave campus.” Jack informed his friends.

“You think this has something to do with the Oracle Society?” Hamish asked.

“I’m certain.” Jack replied.

“So what do we do?” Randall asked as he looked at Jack and Hamish.

Jack shifted his eyes and looked at Gabrielle who was on the opposite sofa as them. “Gabrielle, you’re friends with Daniel. You know them so you must know why they are doing this.”

Gabrielle looked at her friends whilst trying to avoid Randall’s eye contact when he looked at her but failed to do so.

“Jack, look for everyone’s sake, stay away from them. You don’t know what they are capable of and I’ll talk to Daniel to see what he knows but be careful. For now just stay put. None of this is worth getting yourself killed over.” Gabrielle sighed as she explained.

“How is it you know things about them?” Randall asked as he challenged her.

“Just trust me.” Gabrielle added before she looked back to Jack.

“And do what?” Jack asked.

“See Alyssa or something. I don’t know.” Gabrielle rolled her eyes at him, annoyed.

Hamish butted in. “We could start with finding a way to get Vera’s magic back.”

Gabrielle fluttered her eyes. “Do that. I have to go meet my brother Noah, he’s in town. Something came up.” She explained as she stood up from the sofa.

“Okay.” Hamish replied.

“Everything okay?” Randall asked her.

“Yeah. See you guys later.” Gabrielle left the Den in a hurry which left Randall feeling weird about it.

Randall was in his thoughts before he looked at Hamish and Jack. “That was weird right? She’s hiding something.”

“I don’t think you get a say in what she does anymore.” Jack told him.

“Right but I still care about her. Just like you still care about Alyssa. You know the day we broke up we kissed. Twice.” Randall admitted.

“Really?” Both Hamish and Jack said in unison.

“Yeah. She said it was her way of letting each other go and I agreed. But for me it’s hard to do even just that.” Randall sighed sadly.

“Sorry.” Both Jack and Hamish said as they looked at him.

Randall breathed softly before he spoke again.

“Anyway what’s going on with you two anyway? With you and Alyssa?” Randall asked as he tried to change the subject.

“I still love her but it’s complicated. She doesn’t want to be together because she thinks we aren’t right for each other.” Jack admitted as he went to the bar of the den and took the glass cup in his hand and took a sip of his drink.

“Sounds relatable.” Randall said as he also went up the bar and grabbed a drink for himself.

“After everything I did to get her back and this is how she repays me. Tragic really.” Jack sighed.

“Sorry, buddy.” Randall patted him on the back.

“It’s okay. So where is Lilith now?” Jack asked.

“I don’t know. I think she’s at the temple. I’m not friends with her anymore and I can’t stand the sight of her after what she did.” Randall admitted.

It was entirely Lilith’s fault that he is in this situation after all.

“Well I hope you guys can be friends again. Someday. But I think giving them both space is what is needed.” Hamish added.

“Hamish is right.” Jack replied as he looked at Randall.

Randall complained. “God, I hate it when he’s right.”

The three boys dinked their cups together and took a sip of their drinks and downed it and placed their cups down on the bar table, loudly. They did that before they looked at each other and gave each other a half smile.

Hopefully everything will be alright in the end.
We can only hope.

Later that day Gabrielle met up with her brother Noah at a nearby café as he was in town.

“This is weird. You never come to visit on school days. What’s up?” Gabrielle asked.

“Okay Gabby as your brother. You need to tell the truth as the court date is in five months time.” Noah admitted as he glanced over at her.

“I’m not ready!” Gabrielle raised her voice at him.

“You can’t keep this hidden forever. What are you going to do just stay silent forever?” Noah challenged her. He really wanted to help his sister out.

“Of course not b-

“I’m telling you this because some of the other victims have come forward with new evidence for what he did to them and one of them contacted me to let me know that they are planning on visiting Belgrave soon. In a couple of weeks as they want to challenge him and expose him for his crimes.” Noah admitted.

“They can’t do that. Not yet!” Gabrielle yelled.

“They won’t expose what happened to you but they want to gather more evidence on him so that’s why they are coming.” Noah told her.

“Damn it. This is bad.” Gabrielle said out loud.

“It will only get worse if you don’t tell the truth.” Noah raised his voice.

“I know. I get it. I need time.” Gabrielle said softly.

“Okay.” Noah said.

Noah grabbed her hand and held it as they both half smiled at each other.

Noah had left Belgrave that day. He hopes his sister does tell the truth, eventually. Before the secret starts to eat her alive and sends her down a dark path.

That can’t happen again.

𝑩𝑬𝑵’𝑺 𝑯𝑰𝑫𝑬𝑶𝑌𝑻

Gabrielle walked into Ben’s house and entered the living room as he glanced over at her.

“Ah, Gabrielle. You finally came.” He said, happily.

“I’m here so what is it that you want?” She asked, irritated.

Ben smirked at her. “So how’s life post breakup?”

Gabrielle scoffed. “Sucks. And you think this is funny?”

She shouldn’t be surprised as he took pride on seeing her unhappy.

He always did. That was who he was as a person.

He lacks empathy.

He looked at her with a seductive look on his face. “Well with him out the way, maybe we can finish off where started all those years ago and make up for all the lost years in between.” Ben started to walk closer towards her.

“No way. I’m leaving.” Gabrielle hissed as she tried to leave but he restrained her from leaving as he pulled her by the arm towards him.

“I’ve missed you. The first love of each other’s lives. I was your first time, and the sex was great.” He smirked as he caressed her arms that made her shiver, uncomfortably.

“Come on there’s nothing stropping us now. We can try again.” He smirked as he forcefully grabbed a hold of her by the waist, held onto her back and pushed her against the wall and pinned her there. On the wall that was near the front door.

“What are you doing?” Gabrielle asked, afraid for what was about to happen.

He leaned his body against hers as he crashed his lips onto hers, forcefully. “Showing you that I’ve changed. I still love you, Gabrielle.”

“No stop. I don’t want this.” Gabrielle said as she broke the kiss quickly.

“You’re drawn to me.” He said as he forcefully kissed her on the lips once more before he quickly took his shirt off and threw it onto the floor.

“No. I’m not. Don’t do this.” Gabrielle heart was beating faster by the minute.

“You are though.” He smirked as he trailed down to her body and made his way to her neck, his hand was on her back tightly as his other hand was on her neck, they were both against the wall of the door.

She couldn’t escape.

He kissed and sucked down on her neck as she tried to escape but couldn’t, she let out a uncomfortable moan while he also used his hands and tugged on her shirt and quickly removed it.

He then placed his lips onto her chest area and moved his lips up and down her chest, his hand on her chest while his free hand made it’s way to her breast area as he grabbed a hold of her right breast. He used his lips and sucked down on her right breast with his hand caressing her left one.

Gabrielle let out a moan. She hated this. “Stop. Please.”

He ignored her as he grabbed her by the legs and intertwined it in his and he started to move his body up and down as he sucked down on her breast and chest area. His free arm was on her back as he tried to unclasp the bra stap.

“Stop.” She begged as she was in so much pain. She doesn’t want him to do it to her.

A tear came down her face as she just wanted this to stop. She doesn’t want him to go further as she doesn’t want this to happen again.

“STOP!” She yelled as she quickly pushed him off her and grabbed her shirt and put it on. He was about to grab her when Hamish had just entered the door.

Good thing he didn’t catch her without her shirt on.

Just in time she thought. Hamish noticed the distance between them and he looked at Gabrielle who looked rather distraught.

“Is everything okay?” He asked her.

“Yeah, I was just leaving.” She explained as she got up and left, with Hamish following her from behind.

“I wanted to talk to him but now I’m concerned about you.” Hamish told her as he kept on walking with Gabrielle.

“What happened there? Why was his shirt off. You guys didn’t –

“No.” Gabrielle protested.

“Did he do something? Did he hurt you?” Hamish asked as tears started to come down her face.

They stopped in their tracks as she looked up at him.

“That bruise on your neck. He isn’t just someone you know is he? Who is he?” Hamish asked concerned as Gabrielle touched her neck.

“He’s my ex-boyfriend from when I was fifteen to sixteen in high school. He my abuser, my rapist.” Gabrielle admitted with tears in her eyes. She would never admit it but she was being vulnerable right now and so she had no choice but to tell him.

“Wait what? He did that to you?” Hamish looked at her with concern.

He did not expect this answer from her.

“We dated and he abused me, so I broke up with him and a day later he was angry that I did so then he raped me. It was my first time, and I was so afraid and then I didn’t want to be silenced anymore so I exposed him and he was angry that I did that as the school hated him and his family, his parents turned against him and so then he raped me for the second time. So then I told everyone that I lied. I moved schools and I stayed silent after that.” Gabrielle admitted, her voice breaking. This was the most vulnerable she has ever been.

“I’m so sorry, Gabrielle. You didn’t deserve that.” He placed his hand on her shoulder as he looked at her.

“After that I didn’t see him for years until this year when he came back. Threats and everything but what happened today was the first time he touched me in that way in years. He tried to rape me which was why his shirt was off, I had to put mine on again as he took it off. He kissed me twice and then my neck, my chest area. And I was scared but I stopped him before he could go further. If you hadn’t come in I think he would’ve done it.” Gabrielle admitted.

“He’s fucked up. You don’t have to go through this alone. I’m here and you should be careful around him.” Hamish voiced.

“He’s also obsessive and jealous and he’s still in love with me so you have to be careful around him. It’s an unhealthy obsession that he has.” Gabrielle said.

“Does anyone else know about what he did?” Hamish asked.

“No one can know. Only you, Jack, my family and Daniel knows. Please don’t tell anyone. Especially not Randall. I’m not ready yet.” Gabrielle begged him.

“Your secret is safe with me but be careful.” Hamish told her.

Gabrielle half smiled at Hamish. “Thank you. And you can tell Jack what happened today but don’t tell anyone else.”

Hamish half smiled. “Secret is safe with me.”

He leaned in and gave her a large hug. They stayed like that for a bit until Gabrielle told him that she needed to go back to her place.

They said their goodbyes and then Hamish headed back to the Den.

𝑫𝑬𝑵

Lilith had a class so only Jack and Randall were at the Den as they didn’t have any classes until an hour later.

“Hey, where did you go Hamsandwich?” Randall asked as he was sat next to Jack on the sofa, both of them on their computers on their laps.

“On a walk. How are things?” Hamish asked.

He felt weird about keeping a secret from Randall, but he knows that it isn’t his to tell. It’s Gabrielle’s.

“Well according to some students at Belgrave, the attacks take place roughly at nine pm. Everyday.” Jack said as he glanced up at Hamish.

“So they have an agenda, a method?” Hamish voiced.

“Exactly. So what do we do in the meantime?” Randall asked.

“Beer Pong?” Jack asked, excitedly.

“Sure!” Both Hamish and Randall said at the same time.

The three boys walked to the other corner of the room, to where their hide lockers were at and they set up the table for Beer Pong.

They then began to play Beer Pong together.

“How are you doing?” Jack asked as he glanced up at his best friend.

Randall sighed as he faced Jack. “I’m okay. Adjusting as well as I can.”

Jack placed his hand on his shoulder. “It’s only been two weeks. Someday you’ll find your way back to each other.” Jack reassured him.

These past two weeks have been hard for him. “Hope so. For now I just want to get into her good books by being her friend. Though it’s been hard.”

Randall joked. “It’s what I get though for starting something with the order right?”

“Takes two.” Jack replied.

Randall bit his lip. “And what is going on between her and Daniel?”

“They are friends. Gabrielle told me they just went out to the bar. He just took her mind of the breakup. That’s all.” Jack explained.

“Right. Friends.” Randall gritted his teeth.

“Enough talk about her, let’s play!” Randall voiced loudly.

“Agreed.” Hamish and Jack smiled at each other as they both said it in unison.

The three boys laughed as they went back to playing Beer Pong.

Later that day Jack and Hamish were at the Bar. Randall had a class and Jack decided to skip class as Hamish said he had something important to tell him.

Hamish had explained to him the conversation he had with Gabrielle and what had happened.

“So you know. Everything.” Jack uttered as he took a sip of his drink.

“Yes I know everything he did to her and it was a good thing I came in time otherwise he could have done it to her again.” Hamish said out loud, even the words coming out his mouth seemed foreign to him.

“Oh my god, that’s terrible. He sexually assaulted her. He could have raped her again. He’s messed up.” Jack said as he looked down on the table.

“I know. Randall should know about this. I know they aren’t together anymore but –

“I’ve tried to tell her, but she won’t. She thinks she is protecting him by keeping it from him.” Jack said.

“God. Is this one of the reasons she broke up with him?” Hamish asked.

“I think so yeah. She’s hiding her history with Ben, what he did to her, and Ben being her ex-boyfriend and all the secrets it’s leading back to Ben as he’s coming after her. And she told me court is due in five months. All the victims are gathering evidence so he can be put on trail and go to jail for what he did but they can’t do it without the evidence she has. She’s the only one that can end it all.” Jack explained.

“Shit. This is a mess. And so it wasn’t entirely Lilith that was the reason for the breakup it was mainly her secrets.” Hamish uttered.

“Yeah.” Jack replied.

Jack and Hamish stared at each other as they cheered their drinks and downed it and placed their drinks down on the table, rather loudly.

𝑻𝒘𝒐 𝑟𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒔 𝑳𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓

𝑻𝑬𝑎𝑷𝑳𝑬

Vera folded her arms as she entered the room while the rest were doing temple duties. “Okay so the plan for tonight is to keep an eye on them during the attacks. The moment before they kill inform the order and the Knights will transform and get as many students out of the area as you possibly can.”

“Is that understood?” Vera clapped her hands.

“Yes.” Hamish, Jack, Randall and Lilith said as they looked at her.

“You all need to be careful tonight.” Gabrielle said.

“I still don’t get why you aren’t coming with us?” Lilith asked.

“Because I need to be here with the order tonight. Just stop judging me Lilith.” Gabrielle snapped.

“Why you –

“Okay that’s enough. Gabrielle is right, she needs to be here tonight.” Vera clapped her hands together.

Gabrielle had told Vera today in advance that she can’t join the knights tonight as she told Vera that as of this moment she can’t be around Ben right now and that he being there is a threat to him and that things could become worse. Vera was doubtful about it but she understood so she let her off with it.

Later on Ben came to the temple alone.

He warned them of his plans and not to ruin it and before he left he smirked at Gabrielle.

The nerve he has to do that after what he tried to do to her, he thought.

“Hey, Gabrielle. You doing anything later?” Ben asked as he smirked.

“Yeah so stay away from me.” She replied.

“Oh you two broke up. Such a shame.” He teased.

“Stay out of it.” Randall voiced loudly as he was stood right next to his ex girlfriend.

“You wouldn’t believe the things I know about your ex.” Ben laughed.

“Shut up.” She snapped.

“Fine. See you around.” Ben winked at her as he left the temple.

Vera went back to her office as Lilith, Hamish and Jack went back to their duties, not wanting to watch whatever argument was going to happen.

Randall pulled his ex-girlfriend to the side with his arm as he was clinging onto her arm. “What the fuck did he mean by that?” He asked, curious.

Gabrielle sighed. “I don’t know.”

“You’re lying.” Randall looked at her in the eyes as he challenged her.

“No I’m not.” She pushed his arm away from her.

Randall faked laughed. “I shouldn’t be surprised as after all, all you do is lie. To me and to everyone.”

“That’s not true and that’s rich coming from you.” Gabrielle raised her eyebrows at him as she tired to look away from him.

“I never lied. You did.” Randall raised his voice at her.

“You’re a hypocrite! You lied about your feelings for Lilith!” She shouted at him.

“What are you hiding?” Randall yelled as he stared at her.

“You know I was right. We should stay enemies.” Gabrielle said calmy.

“I suppose you are right. Fine by me.” He admitted as they both looked at each other and then walked away from each other.

He didn’t want this, but he needed space from her as much space as she needs away from him.

Randall is frustrated and angry with her.

She keeps putting him in the dark and he hates that she does.

Later at night the Knights (Hamish, Randall and Lilith) went to Belgrave campus. Ben and the rest of the oracle society had arrived on campus.

Jake and his friends hid behind some trees.

“What are we doing standing here shouldn’t we be attacking them?” Lilith asked.

“No not yet. We have to wait until they are about to attack.” Hamish explained.

“This is a Knights mission but Gabrielle isn’t even here.” Lilith mentioned.

“Whatever. Don’t even mention her.” Randall snapped.

“You guys had a fight?” Jack asked.

“She’s always hiding something. I just need to focus on other things.” Randall explained.

Jack turned his head to face him. “Speaking of, heads up. They are about to attack on!” Jack voiced.

Ben and the resurrected killed some students but the Knights had transformed and had managed to save as many students as possible.

Tomorrow they would report back to Vera what had happened. That the mission was semi successful.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑵𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝑫𝒂𝒚

𝑫𝑬𝑵

The Knights were at the Den, chatting on the sofa. Hamish and Jack were sitting next to each other and Lilith and Randall were sat next to each other on the opposite sofa.

Gabrielle then came through the door.

“Has anyone told you that you guys are so loud.” Gabrielle said sassily.

“Hello to you too, Gabrielle.” Jack teased.

“Hi.” Gabrielle said as he eyes landed on Randall’s.

“Hey. How is everything?” Randall asked, nervously.

“Randall we are still doing the no contact and I want it to stay that way.” Gabrielle scratched her hair, nervously.

“I didn’t realise going back to enemies or even friends would be so hard. And I’m sorry for what I said yesterday.” Randall glanced over at her.

“Me too.” Gabrielle replied.

Randall half smiled at her. “Friends?”

“Friends.” Gabrielle assured him.

Gabrielle turned to face Jack and Hamish. “Can I talk to you both for a second, outside. In private?”

“Sure.” Jack and Hamish said at the same time.

𝑶𝑌𝑻𝑺𝑰𝑫𝑬 𝑫𝑬𝑵

“I’m guessing Hamish told you about what happened. And I just can’t be around Ben anymore. Just in case he pulls something like this again and also what I’m about to tell you. You can’t tell Randall.” Gabrielle eyes shifted to theirs.

Hamish looked at her, curious he was. “What is it?”

Gabrielle breathed softly before she spoke again. “I have the weapon he wants. It’s part of my family’s legacy to protect it. He’s giving me four months to give it to him.”

“What?” Hamish said out loud, surprised.

“Why didn’t you say anything?” Jack asked.

“I can’t. Because if I give it to him for the ritual then the apocalypse will come. And if I don’t give it to him then he will rape me again and he knows my secrets and will turn it against me, all about our history. But he won’t tell anyone the history if I stay out of his way.” Gabrielle raised her voice.

Jack scoffed. “Damn it Gabrielle! You can’t do this!”

“I have to. Let me handle this!” Gabrielle shouted.

Hamish folded his arms as he stared at her. “I hate this.”

“Only Vera, you and Hamish, my family and Daniel know about the weapon, and I want it to stay like that.” Gabrielle looked at her friends seriously.

“How does Vera know?” Hamish questioned.

“She’s Vera. She always finds a way.” She told him.

“Noted.” Hamish said.

Gabrielle sighed, she really hated the position that she was in. “She found out two weeks ago. Well she told me she knew.”

“Be careful.” Hamish stared at her with concern.

“Especially around Ben.” Jack finished.

Gabrielle nodded her head as she half smiled at them. “I will.”

She hopes she will. Though when it comes to Ben. He always wins.

Shortly after Gabrielle went back to her place for the night.

Hamish and Jack entered the Den again.

“Where’d she go? What was that?” Randall asked them.

“She went back home.” Hamish told him.

Randall raised his eyebrows at them. “Really?”

“It’s nothing important. Just trust us.” Jack reassured him.

“Okay.” Randall said calmy.

He thought that his friends were being rather suspicious. And he thought that Gabrielle was being rather suspicious as well.

What could they be hiding?

Jack hated lying to his best friend but it’s not his secret to tell. It’s hers, all he can do is give her guidance to tell the truth someday.

He hopes that it’s soon.
