[just so I remember with my goldfish brain. this is the one with the kissy aliens that are very curious and have polycules a very interesting bond with the Klingon empire(strong, good for battle), AND are very good at accommodating their disabled population.]

The thing I loved most about this fic is how it turns the reader's assumptions about disability on its head. It even made me think, and I've been disabled my whole life.
