“Let’s fast track R&D for making the personal scent blockers smaller,” Wei Wuxian hummed into his phone as he pinned it between his ear and his shoulder.

“We’ve already cut the size in half!” The voice on the other end of the phone line protested.

“I know! The issue is people are complaining it isn’t ‘aesthetically pleasing’, so much we’re cutting into sales.” Wei Wuxian sighed as he hastily stacked papers and set them aside.  “I’m authorizing you to bring on a jewellery maker or fashion designer to consult. Public polling shows we can double our sales if we can make it smaller or more aesthetically pleasing. So, I want ideas on my desk by the end of the week.”

“Will do boss,” The voice on the other side of the line replied. Wei Wuxian sighed, dropping his phone onto the desk and picking up a pen in the same motion. He quickly glanced over it, before signing and moving to his office door.

“Wen Ning, can you run this down to finance? I’m authorizing R&D to bring on a consultant.” He spoke as he held the paper out for Wen Qionglin.

“Right away!” Wen Qionglin nodded. “Your two o’clock appointment was canceled. They rescheduled for next Tuesday.”

“I’ve got-”

“Soccer game? Don’t worry the meeting will be well over by the time you need to go.” Wen Qionglin assured him.

“You’re the best,” Wei Wuxian smiled back at his right hand man. “Now if I could only figure out what I did with those patent notices,” He muttered as he went to go back into his office.

“You sent them to the patent office,” Wen Qionglin replied. “On time for once.”

“Imagine that!” Wei Wuxian snorted.

He turned, and was half way into his office when he heard it.

“FLYING SQUIRREL ATTACK!”

Barely a beat later, a small body was launched into him. Wei Wuxian’s arms reflexively caught it, thankful his hands were empty as they hoisted the body up. Giggles exploded from it as he swung thim around.

“Flying Squirrel? I love flying squirrels!” Wei Wuxian grinned as he settled the boy on his hip. “They’re the best for an afternoon snack!” He added, playfully snapping his teeth at the boy.

“No! Papa, I'm not a squirrel!” The boy wailed. Wei Wuxian looked down as he felt another body crash into his leg, it’s arms wrapping around his thigh.

“Papa don’t eat A-Yi!” The face pouted.

“What’s this? Another squirrel for me to eat,” He grinned down. He hoisted A-Yi up higher on his hip, freeing up a hand to ruffle the other’s hair.

“I’m not a squirrel!” The boy laughed.

“A-Yuan is a rabbit!” A-Yi replied as if Wei Wuxian should know better. Which he really should have.

“Even better! Monsters need diversity in their diets you know,” Wei Wuxian put a mock serious look on his face as he crouched. He scooped up A-Yuan, settling him on the other hip. He tried not to outwardly groan. They were getting too big for this. Or he was getting old. “Wen Ning contact the cook! We’re having wild rabbit and flying squirrel stew tonight!”

“Right away,” Wen Qionglin nodded, a smile playing across his lips as he reached for the phone.

“NO!” Both of the boys shrieked.

“No?!” Wei Wuxian mock gasped. “Then what will this poor monster eat? I’ll waste away! Never to be seen again.”

“Kisses!” A-Yi proposed.

“Oh no, what was that?” Wei Wuxian staggered back into the wall. “This poor monster has grown too weak from lack of food! I’m fading.”

Wei Wuxian couldn’t stop the beaming grin from growing on his face as two small mouths started littering kisses all over his face.

“There!” A-Yuan announced when they paused.

“I don’t know, this monster is still ravenous.” Wei Wuxian grinned back. “Maybe just a bite or two?” He hummed, leaning forward to playfully nip at A-Yuan’s shoulder. He used it to transition into pressing kisses over both their little bodies.

“Baba save us!” Two twin voices cried as they squirmed.

“Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji’s voice broke through. Wei Wuxian grinned as he looked up, seeing Lan Wangji approaching. He’d been growing his hair out lately, and today he’d pulled the chin length bob back with an adorable little fruit hair tie. Wei Wuxian’s boys were really going to kill him with cuteness.

“Looks like your valiant baba will pay your dues,” Wei Wuxian chuckled. He pressed two final kisses, one to each head, before leaning to put the two boys down. “The toll today is kisses.”

“A steep price,” Lan Wangji hummed as he leaned in. Wei Wuxian grinned into the kiss, only breaking away when he heard a twin pair of ‘ews’.

“Be thankful for your baba’s sacrifice, or I might get hungry again.” He teased. He got a pair of wide eyes before they went squealing off into Wei Wuxian’s office. Wei Wuxian grinned as he turned back to Lan Wangji, stealing another kiss.

“Do you have time for a break?” Lan Wangji murmured.
“For you?” Wei Wuxian grinned. “Always.” He laced their fingers together as he tugged his husband into his office. He smiled as he saw A-Yi and A-Yuan already in their corner of his office, tugging out the play chest he kept stashed over there.

It was hard to believe they were three, almost four. It felt like he had just given birth to them yesterday. It seemed even harder to believe his company had been up and running for two years. Even that had been by sheer dumb luck, coinciding with the fact that Nightless Tech was being liquidated. He’d managed to get a location in town, machines, and supplies to set him up for the first six months of production. By the time they’d gotten through those, he’d succeeded in setting up the supply chain needed.

And business was booming.

They’d been struggling to keep up with their demand since day one. A demand that only grew as Wei Wuxian’s contracted out patents expired and he brought them in house to produce them. Profits were through the roof. They’d broken ground a week ago on a new plant, nearly three times the size of what they were in now.

Suibian Tech was on it’s way to becoming a household name, or at least that's what Forbes and Times were printing. Not only were they topping the charts in production, they had the highest employee satisfaction rate in their field. “Suibian Tech is leading the way into the future, not only with their products but also in their employee policies. Their extensive handbook is revolutionizing the way companies deal with their employees' gendered needs, and making everyone want to work there.”  Wei Wuxian had Qin Su to thank for that glowing review. And Lan Wangji for helping him write the handbook.

“Busy day?” Lan Wangji murmured as he saw his desk, or more specifically the stacks of paper on it.

“Nothing I can’t handle, we actually seem to be getting into a groove.” Wei Wuxian smiled as he fell onto the couch. Lan Wangji was barely a beat behind him, his arms and lips close behind. Wei Wuxian hummed into the kiss, shifting to settle in his husband’s lap. “A surprise visit from my boys and a mid-afternoon makeout session? When did I get so lucky?”

“Mn,” Lan Wangji hummed, his hands settling on Wei Wuxian’s hips as he reeled him back in for more kisses.

“You know,” Wei Wuxian murmured between kisses. “My heat is coming up in a week. Yanli said she’d take the boys, which means the whole house to ourselves. Not to mention this new birth control has been doing wonders for my libedo.” He chuckled at the pleased pur that sounded from his husband. It was followed, of course, by more kisses.

Wei Wuxian sighed when they finally broke off, letting himself drape his form over his husband. His hand came up, fiddling with the wisps of hair escaping Lan Wangji’s ponytail. A nail occasionally clacked against the plastic strawberries on the hair tie. (It meant that A-Yuan picked it out today. A-Yi favored the lemon one.)

“Flying squirrel?” He questioned.

“We watched the nature channel,” Lan Wangji replied.

“Do I need to be worried they’ll be mentally scarred by watching some poor flying squirrel get eaten?” Wei Wuxian chuckled.

“Kids hour,” Lan Wangji shook his head. Wei Wuxian couldn’t help but smile as Lan Wangji nuzzled closer to him.

“Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji’s voice murmured after a few minutes of silence. “The boys will be starting preschool soon.”

“Don't remind me,” Wei Wuxian groaned. “Why can’t they stay small, cute and adorable for the rest of our lives?”

“I was wondering,” Lan Wangji hummed, a hand gently tracing a pattern on Wei Wuxian’s back. “What if you didn’t take your birth control?”

“I love you, but I am not going back to condoms. Especially not for my heat,” Wei Wuxian pressed a kiss to Lan Wangji’s cheek. He was surprised to hear a slight huff.

“I meant not to use protection at all,” Lan Wangji almost muttered. Wei Wuxian’s eyes widened as he pulled back.

“That would mean a chance at more babies,” Wei Wuxian blinked.

“I know,” Lan Wangji nodded. “I want more, love. I’m asking. If you don’t want to, we don’t have to.” He trailed off as Wei Wuxian started to laugh.

“Here I was wondering how I was going to bring the subject up to you,” Wei Wuxian rocked his forehead against Lan Wangji’s. He saw his husband’s eyes widen. “Yanli is trying again, talking to her made me think about it. The twins would be great big brothers.”

He barely caught sight of Lan Wangji’s smile before he kissed him. Just as the kiss was starting to get exciting, the sound of something shattering followed by a pair of twin ‘uhoh’ broke them apart.

“Lan Jingyi,” Lan Wangji sighed without looking over. “If you shove that under the carpet there won’t be any dessert tonight.”

“Sorry baba,” A-Yi’s voice sounded. “Sorry papa.”

Wei Wuxian looked over, seeing the shattered remains of a coffee mug next to a toy catapult made of legos. He supposed that was what he got for trying to foster engineering in small children.

“Don’t touch it,” He sighed with a soft smile. “Go tell Uncle Ning to get the janitor.” He watched both the boys scurry from the office.

“Think you’ll be ready for another one in nine months?” Wei Wuxian arched his eyebrow as he looked back at Lan Wangji. “Or another two?”

“Always,” Lan Wangji smiled.

Notes:

Thank you all for coming along on this ride!
I can't believe I've been working on this for almost a year, starting the first draft way back in May of 2020! Back then it was just a self indulgent exploration of writing ABO, and well here we are now! Thank you for all the love and comments along the way.

A special thanks to ParzivalHallows for coming on as a beta reader half way through.
To Fluffygel for her adorable fanart, check it out here.
And Hanran_Jun and DaiaSouza for their translations (links in the first chapter).

As always you can find me on tumblr and on twitter (I've been a lot more active on twitter lately).

I'll be taking a break, but I've got another multichapter fic done that I'm planning on posting. It's another ABO piece, but a no cultivation historical AU. I've dropped a few peices of it for WIPWednesdays on twitter, here and here.I'm looking for a beta reader, mostly someone to do some proofreading and offer feedback. No experience necessary (you just have to like reading). If that sounds like someonthing you'd be into, just leave me a comment or shoot me a dm on tumblr or twitter!
