Work Text:
I groaned as I got dragged through the streets of Paris. I didn’t want to be here, nor did I have the time for it. But I just didn’t have the heart to tell her “no” when she barged into my room with her tail wagging all cute like. Apparently there was some kind of celebration in the city tonight and she insisted on going together. I barely had time to put on my coat and scarf before she dragged me out of the mansion and into a carriage.
“So why are you dragging me along for this again, hondje?” I complained, already annoyed at the overwhelming amount of people on the streets.
“Because it’s fun. Also, you work too much. You need a break before the frown on your grumpy face will grow permanent,” she replied with a chuckle.
“Hey! I don’t have a grumpy face and also—” I started to protest, but my words got cut off by a colourful explosion in the sky. Huh, what is this? Vuurwerk? I looked up and saw the next one go off, sparkling lights soaring through the night sky. When I looked back down, I could see the fireworks sparkle in her eyes and suddenly I felt myself relax. Maybe this isn’t so bad after all…
