Chapter Text
Middle school kaminari denki likes to think about how shitty school is. Not only do they give pointless homework, hard ass exams, and unachievable expectations. They have mental health matters seminar... that's not what's wrong, no, kaminari actually applaud them on how they are bringing mental health to light. But what made him in rage is how they still don't care about the students mental health.
"You should take a break"
* gives mandatory homework about mental health *
" scores isn't everything"
* scolds about how dumb students are*
" express yourself freely "
* gives detention to the student who speaks up *
No matter what adults say, don't trust them.
But that's different in UA right?
Right??
-----
It was a April 4th on a Thursday. Thursday is the fourth day, April is the fourth month, and the date was 4 which makes it 444. Other than that it was 04.44 in the morning. Denki googled it up, 444 was an Angel Number, It stands for honesty, health, determination, success, inner wisdom, intuition, and confidence. It is said that angels are beside you in everything you do.
But that isn't it, he doesn't feel healthy or confident or success or any of that shit. He feels sick. He feels so tiny and pathetic and lonely. There isn't anybody near him to hold him, to hear him, to be there for him. So, sorry angel number but you're wrong.
But kaminari is in no way in hell a quitter, well not yet atleast. So there he is infront of the class 1A door, standing, hands curled mid air, panting slightly. He has no idea what time it is, he actually stood up in a haste, threw his uniform on, and ran.
What is he doing? shit. What is he doing? He is going in there and disturb Mr. Aizawa. He can't do that. Aizawa-sensei need as much sleep as he can, so he can't disturb him. He will be a burden. He will be to loud. To obnoxious. To needy. To greedy. T- no. He is going in there to get help. The help that Mr. Aizawa can provide.
He can do this.
Silence the voice.
*knock knock*
Silence
Then a grunt came from inside, his eyes snapped up, mouth ajar. He takes a deep breath and open the door.
There Mr. aizawa layed inside his yellow sleeping bag, looking at him in an unimpressed gaze.
Kaminari stood, hands still on the door, tense.
Mr. Aizawa let out a tired sigh and slowly get out from his sleeping bag and sit down on his chair, "well, what is it now?"
Kaminari still frozen beside the door, already regreted coming. He can't tell his teacher what he is feeling. He can't. He is supposed to be a future hero and heroes don't let their pathetic emotion spiral out of control like this.
They are brave. Which he is not. They are helpful. He is a bother. They are Inspirational. He is unaffecting. They are the cure. He is the problem.
" are you here to hand in the mountain of your unfinished homework kaminari?" The bored voice snapped him from his thought
" umm actually no sir-"
"So you have not finished them?"
"No. I mean yes. It's just-"
" then I don't know what you need from me"
" I need help " kaminari burst out, he held his breath, waiting for Mr. Aizawas reaction
" You need help because of what? You set fire on your homework and need extra time? You said that last time kaminari. You can't keep making up excuses"
"No that's not- it actually happened sir! My quirk just nevermind but-but that's not it, so you know how you said, when we need help, or you know to talk then you said-"
" yes i remembered what i said. Now what is it"
"Well i want to talk about, well you know about how-"
" no i don't know, but what i do know is that you need to turn in your assignments" Mr. Aizawa sighs, looking more exhausted by the second " look, kid, being in UA is a big opportunity. You need to keep up and try harder. People are lining up behind you, waiting for a slip up so they can come and take your place. You want to stay here, don't you? So try harder. The hero society doesn't need another dead weight"
"Yes sir"

Denki is sitting on the rooftop.
The sun was rising.
He never really get why people like to watch the sun rise. It's the same every single day. Just another day that was going to drag on until sunset. But right now, it's the only thing that is giving Denki warmth.
The person he looks up to just discard him like that. He didn't even try to listen, did he matter that little?
Kaminari sigh as he stood up from his place on the rooftop
He can't miss any classes
With a body that felt like it's being dragged down by thousands of hands, pulling on his hands, gripping his leg so he won't move
He walks
