Imperfect Love

Chapter Text

“Kurt, is there something you need to tell me?”

“Tell you,” Kurt said playing dumb, realizing right away that his Dad probably heard all about his association with Blaine.

“Yeah Kurt, what is this about you being in the news for dating some singer?” Burt Hummel wondered. “Because last I heard you were dating that Adam kid.”

Kurt sighed. “I broke up with Adam ages ago, and my relationship with Blaine is super recent. We were only friends for a long time. I’m not a cheater, I promise.”

“I don’t like this,” Burt said. “You getting involved with some celebrity is not a good thing.”

“Dad I know what you are going to say and I’ve weighted the pros and cons. I really like Blaine. He makes me feel special the way nobody else ever has. He’s worth all the hassle,” Kurt admitted.

“Kurt you’re an adult so you are entitled to make your own decisions. Just be careful, I don’t want you getting hurt,” Burt said.

“Thanks, Dad,” Kurt said gratefully.

“But I want to meet this rock star boyfriend of yours one of these days,” Burt said.

“Oh you will,” Kurt said thinking of future times of holidays and meeting the parents. There were so many special moments to come for him and Blaine. And he couldn’t wait for it all.

~~~~~~~
The following day Kurt had possibly the worst day of his entire college career at NYADA. When he left his home that morning there were paparazzi at the door of his building and they followed him, snapping pictures and asking a million questions as they followed him down towards the subway. Once Kurt got down to the station and scanned his MTA card the paps didn’t follow him through the gate but once he got on his train he noticed that some of the people were looking at him and whispering.
Blaine had told him to expect this and his best advice was that Kurt should just ignore everyone and go about his routine as he normally would. When Kurt walked into NYADA however the stares and the whispers were even worse. As NYADA was a school full of drama majors they of course would be talking about everything exciting in the celebrity world and unfortunately for Kurt he was the talk of the school.
“How on earth did HE bag Anderson?” one guy said loudly as Kurt walked past, the other guys with him started to laugh.
“So what is Blaine Anderson like?” a girl in his dance class said talking to Kurt for the very first time. “Could you get me his autograph?”
“Maybe,” Kurt responded but thankfully in the next moment Cassie walked in to start the class.
And of course the worst was dealing with Adam.
“Did you like the article, Kurt?” Adam wondered, following Kurt down the hall. “It was only a matter of time before everyone knew the truth so I figured I would tell them.”
“You’re an asshole,” Kurt said turning to glare at him. “Not to mention you lied through your teeth. We both know the truth.”
“The truth is I warned you what would happen if you didn’t meet my terms,” Adam said grinning.
“Well the fact of the matter is that you didn’t win. I’m still with Blaine, and there is nothing you can do about it,” Kurt replied.
“Blaine will get bored of you in no time when he realizes that you won’t even put out for him,” Adam said with a chuckle. But then he saw an expression cross Kurt’s face at those words. “Wait a minute, you did sleep with him.”
“That is entirely none of your business,” Kurt snapped back. “Leave me alone.”
As Kurt turned to leave he heard Adam’s laughter follow him. The rest of the day was more of the same, a few brave enough to talk to him, others commenting out loud as he passed, and the whispers. The whispers followed him around all day. When Kurt went to the dining hall and went to sit down to eat his salad, the eyes constantly following him made him lose his appetite.
He went to one of the studios that was not currently in use and then called Blaine.
“Hi babe, how is school?” Blaine asked when he answered the call.
“It’s been a nightmare,” Kurt admitted. “I’m the only thing interesting enough to talk about apparently.”
“I’m sorry you have to deal with this. I know it isn’t fun,” Blaine said regretfully.
“It is not your fault,” Kurt said gently. “I’m sure it will get better eventually. And like I told my Dad, you are worth all of this drama.”
“You’re amazing,” Blaine said in awe. “I’m so glad I met you. And I want to make it up to you. Can I take you out to dinner tonight?”
Kurt smiled. “Like a proper date? I would love to.”
“Great I will pick you up at seven, but now I must go. Wes has been glaring at me for the last five minutes,” Blaine said.
“See you tonight,” Kurt said, feeling happy for the first time that day.
~~~~~~~

That night Kurt slid onto the plush seat of the limousine and closed the door, happy to leave the press outside. He saw Blaine was across the seat from him so he scooted close to him.

“I’m so happy to see you,” Kurt said, accepting Blaine’s welcoming kiss.

“Me too, I missed you,” Blaine replied. “I know it is crazy since we just saw each other yesterday but I missed you.”

“The feeling is completely mutual,” Kurt said kissing Blaine again.

As they rode along through the crowded Manhattan streets, they talked about their day and exchanged slow kisses. Finally they arrived at their destination and the limo driver pulled over and stopped.

“Are you ready for this?” Blaine wondered, taking Kurt’s hand and kissing it.

“Ready as I will ever be,” Kurt answered and opened the door. Blaine led the way inside the restaurant and when he gave his name to the maitre d, and there were immediately led to a table that was in a secluded corner. Kurt sat down and looked around; since he arrived in New York he certainly hadn’t been to a restaurant this fancy. As he looked at the menu he saw immediately that there were no prices on any of the food options.

“Blaine, do you think this is a bit fancy?” Kurt wondered.

“Not at all,” Blaine replied. “And don’t worry about the price, I’m paying.”

“Blaine we could’ve gone somewhere different, people already think I’m a gold digger,” Kurt said.

“Kurt, please don’t worry about that. I don’t think of you that way at all. But I do want to treat my sexy boyfriend to a fine dinner so please let’s just enjoy this,” Blaine replied. “Besides you cooked for me last time. It is my turn to pay.”

Kurt nodded, not really able to dispute that logic. “Okay so what would you recommend?” he wondered, looking at the menu more closely.

“Everything is delicious, but I really like their bouillabaisse and their coq au vin,” Blaine replied and when their waiter arrived he ordered them a bottle of wine.

“Are you trying to get me intoxicated tonight?” Kurt wondered, laughing a little. “You know very well that my inhibitions get lowered when I drink alcohol.”

“Oh I’m counting on it,” Blaine grinned.

The meal turned out to be immaculate, and Kurt was incredibly grateful to be able to sample so much fine French food. The wine was also delicious and it seemed that in no time they drank through the first bottle and Blaine ordered a second. The entire time they were in their own little world and if people noticed they were there together than Kurt and Blaine paid nobody else any attention. Once they finished their meals, they ordered dessert to share and when Kurt took his first bite of the crepes suzette he couldn’t stop the low moan that escaped his mouth.

“This sauce is amazing,” Kurt exclaimed, not noticing the dark look Blaine was giving him. “You’ve got to try it.”

“I think we should take it to go,” Blaine said, his voice low and sexy. When Kurt looked into his eyes he felt the blush rise to his cheeks.

“I don’t think I can stop eating this,” Kurt replied, going to take another mouthful of the crepes. When he put it in his mouth he made a show of licking his spoon clean.

“Kurt, we really should go,” Blaine said practically tossing his card at the waiter when he stopped by to check on him.

“I’m not finished,” Kurt said scooping up some of the sauce on his finger and sucking it off. “This sauce is practically orgasmic”

“We are going now, Kurt,” Blaine demanded, quickly signing his name on the credit card receipt when the waiter brought it back and then took Kurt’s hand and practically dragged him outside the restaurant. Paparazzi were waiting outside as they obviously had gotten word that Blaine and Kurt were there. Blaine ignored them as he led Kurt to the waiting limo and let Kurt get in before he followed.

“Blaine, what’s the rush,” Kurt started to say but Blaine was on him in no time once he closed the door. Blaine kissed him deep, his tongue pushing forward to mingle with Kurt’s, Blaine’s arms wrapped around his boyfriend reaching down to grope his ass.

“The rush is you,” Blaine said between kisses. “You are such a fucking tease. I can’t get enough of you. That damn sauce.”

“It was delicious,” Kurt replied, running his hands through Blaine’s dark curls.

“So I gathered,” Blaine said squeezing Kurt’s ass and pulling him onto his lap.”There are so many things I want to do with you.”

“I can’t wait,” Kurt replied breathless before Blaine claimed his lips once more.

~~~~~~~
They pulled apart and made themselves presentable as they exited the limo and walked into Blaine’s building but once they got inside the elevator Blaine pushed Kurt up against the wall and kiss him dirty with all tongue. They didn’t separate once when the elevator reached the penthouse apartment and they went inside.
Blaine pushed Kurt down on his couch and moved on top of him. They kissed hungrily and at the same time Blaine was grinding against him, their cocks rubbing against each others through their clothes. Kurt’s pants were already tight enough without popping an erection so he felt everything. Blaine rutted against Kurt hard and Kurt did his best to move back up against Blaine.
It wasn’t long until both men cried out and their movements stilled.
“I’ve never done that, come in my pants,” Kurt said. “Feels gross.”
“Next time don’t tease me,” Blaine said leaning down to kiss Kurt soundly.
“These pants are tight enough,” Kurt complained. “Now they are sticky.”
“Well we can’t have that,” Blaine said kissing Kurt’s cheek. “Let’s take a bath.”
~~~~~~

The following morning Kurt woke up in Blaine’s bed surprised to find the bed cold next to him. He got out of bed and walked around the massive penthouse apartment looking for his boyfriend. Blaine was nowhere to be seen in the kitchen or the living room. It wasn’t until he heard sniffling coming from one of the side rooms that he found the other man.

Blaine looked completely miserable, tears trailing down his face as he looked at a photo album.

“Blaine, what’s wrong?” Kurt said moving forward and wrapping his boyfriend in a big hug.

“My Grandma died,” Blaine answered as the tears continued to fall.
