Gaming Never Prepared Me For This

Chapter 9: Chapter Nine

Summary:

Levi and Miche confirm and deny their feelings, but it seems one is more serious about it than the other

Notes:

After an insanely long Hiatus, I am back with renewed excitement to continue this fic. I'll hopefully be updating a little more consistently once I get back into the swing of things.

Regardless, This chapter isn't as long as I'd like, but I wanted to get a quick one out to get us back into the groove of things. We get possessive Miche and In denial Levi in this chapter. So enjoy!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Miche P.O.V.

“You should know better than to talk like that, Lev~ Especially when I’m already riled up” I couldn’t help but smirk as the smaller male beneath me squirmed, trying to get out of my hold. I was trying to get him flustered, nervous…But his focus was elsewhere. Steel eyes were directed at the door, mine slowly shifting to see why. There was nothing, but Erwin and Harlow were missing from their spots. Had they gone somewhe-

“You fucking idiot” Levi’s snarl and a swift kick to my abdomen had me rolling off of him and onto the floor myself. A groan left me as he got up onto his feet, glaring hard down at me. It was bone chilling as always. “I know you’re smarter than this, so why the hell did you do that?! Now she probably thinks- AGH!” I watched as he threw his arms up in frustration.

“What? She probably just got confused or something. You know what she reads-”

“That is not what I mean and you know it. Erwin dragged her out of the house before I could get you off of me” The short male sat on the edge of the couch, tugging at his own hair. I blinked slowly, trying to understand what the big deal was. I had always made passing comments to both of them, even in front of Harlow. So why was it such a big deal?...Unless..

“You like her” I stated bluntly, slowly pushing myself up into a sitting position so I could look at him right. My smirk returned as the flush I had been searching for finally found its way to his cheeks.

“W-what…What the hell are you talking about?”

“You know exactly what I’m talking about, Levi. I saw how you looked at her earlier, hell, how you do every day. I just didn’t…think about it until now” I looked down at my own lap, and my hands. Levi had always been hard to see through when it came to his feelings most of the time, but when it came to stuff like this, I could get to the source pretty easily. It was easier for Erwin to do. I sighed and peeked up at him, shaking my head at his even redder face. “You…you aren’t alone in that-”

“What are you saying, Miche?” He sounded almost angry that I had said anything, as if this was the most heinous thing that had ever left my mouth. My brows furrowed in slight irritation.

“I’m saying that I love her, alright?” I let out a breath I didn’t know I was even holding. I closed my eyes and sighed, tilting my head back towards the ground. It felt good to finally say it. It would’ve been more relieving to just say it to her face, but I couldn’t.

“You know we can’t-”

“I know damn well what we aren’t allowed to do, Levi. But it's not a bad thing to at least say it out loud. You act like its a damn sin to have feelings-”

“Feelings for her, yes. It's not okay, not with how we live. And I'd prefer it if you got that fact through your thick skull. You’re letting a week of close proximity get to you. You’re going to end up hurting yourself when we get back, Miche” He was clearly irritated by the entire situation, and he was obviously projecting onto me. “You know what…no this is good. Good job, Mutt” the sudden change in tone had my head snapping up towards him.

“What? You were just-”

“She’ll think we’re dating. I doubt eyebrows told her anything…We can play pretend until she finds someone else-” I lunged forward, my hand finding itself pressed into the column of his throat and pinning him to the couch. I didn’t even think before I did it, as if it was a primal response…

Levi P.O.V.

“Don’t you ever say that shit again. She isn’t finding anyone else” He snarled down at me, like he was some feral dog. My hands struggled to pull his own off of my neck. I knew for a fact I couldn’t get out from under him, not when he was like this. I hadn’t seen him this intense, however. Not unless he was hunting someone down for Erwin, and even then It was brief. When had he gotten so attached to her? We weren’t supposed to-

“I know you haven’t accepted it yet, but she is mine.” I stiffened at the tone of his voice, watching as his pupils dilated.

“She can-” My words were cut off by another harsh squeeze to my throat.

“She could be ours…If you and Erwin would stop hiding behind whatever morals you think we have. She wants us too, and you know it.” He leaned down closer to my face, making it impossible to avoid eye contact. His words struck me a little. She wanted us? She made it clear that she enjoyed our company, but we were just the old guys she was roommates with. She didn’t want more…right?

“You’re fuckin delusional. She doesn’t want one of us, let alone all three-”

“I won’t believe it until she says it to my damn face…Don’t say shit like that again to me” He finally released me, pushing himself off the couch and heading towards his room with a heavy huff. “Get changed. I’m calling Erwin to find out where they are…God I bet he’s really enjoying that alone time with her” his door slammed, causing me to visibly wince at the noise.

What the fuck had gotten into him? He knew we couldn’t do anything with her. Erwin wouldn’t even think to do anything…Right? He’s the one who came up with the damn rule in the first place. Sure he had gotten a lot more touchy with her, but we were protecting her…A feeling settled in my chest that I didn’t like.

I couldn’t shake the image of our fearless leader letting Harlow lay on him when she got scared…how eager she was to hold his hand whenever they went out. She was always looking for his approval- Wait.

Why did I even care? If Erwin wanted to go and get his heart broken, he could do whatever he wanted. He could get all the attention from her he wanted to, it wouldn’t mean anything. She wouldn’t ever think of any of us in that way. And I didn’t actually think of her as anything other than some brat who lives in the room across the hall.

“Fucking idiots…They’re gonna come crawling to me when this blows up in their faces. And I'm not going to help them. Not one bit..” I grumbled as I got up, walking towards my own room to change as fast as possible.

Because I was hungry and Erwin was supposed to buy dinner.

Third P.O.V.

It had been a long week or so. She had barely posted anything. No pictures on social media, no twitter updates, and very few video updates on her channel. It was driving him mad. No one could get eyes on her either…Like they were stashing her somewhere. Out of his sight.

No one within her fan groups seemed to be concerned like he was, angry like he was. “She needs this vacation. She’s been working herself to the bone for us” one of the mods had said in her discord, and everyone agreed. They didn’t understand, didn’t know who she was with. He hadn’t realized it until Reiner had seen the dog like one at the meeting with Tyburr the other day. The knowledge only pushed him further to the edge.

He needed to get her soon…He had wanted to wait, introduce himself more naturally, try and coax her into coming with him. But he knew she was attached, she wouldn’t listen to reason. He didn’t want to make her fear him when they met, though. He needed to come up with a different plan. Try and make her scared of them, get her to leave willingly. That was easy…He yanked his phone from the desk in front of him.

“Yelena? Yeah…it's me. I need a favor. I promise I’ll make it worth your while” he spun around in his office chair until his eyes landed on the photo of her on his desk. A bit of guilt for what he was going to have to do sunk into his stomach, but he pushed it back. It was for her own good. She’d be safer with him once this was over…

“Do you still have that stuff you got from Tyburr?...Good. I’ll text you the details” He hung up soon after, sighing and leaning back in his chair, eyes turned towards the ceiling. He was just waiting for one more piece of information. Then he could piece everything together…

“Sir?” His head whipped around towards the door.

“What?”

“They’ve confirmed her location sir…at least the town she’s in” A smirk spread across his lips as he slowly stood from his seat.

“Just in time. It won’t be long now…Tell Marcel I need him for something”
