Visions

Summary:

Yashiro Nene has been travelling with the rather eccentric and mischievous Hanako for a week now yet her mind still couldn't grasp how the laughing boy beside her has a very noticeable anemo vision placed on his hat.

Notes:

When you're so sad you mix both of your current fandoms together.

This isnt my first fanfic for them actually but ahah,, I kinda like this one compared to the others anyway so might as well show you

Work Text:

The guy was rather a strange one. So carefree and happy. Always humming a tune as he skips on their walks. So strangely optimistic.

Yashiro Nene was a dreamer. Ever since she was young she had dreamed of becoming apart of the adventurer's guild and be blessed with a vision by the seven archons. She would be known far and wide as the cute catalyst healer and she was so sure that she would do anything to achieve that dream.

Turns out it was all a mere fantasy when she had figured it out that maybe the greatsword was a better match for her than any catalyst in Teyvat.

But that didn't matter! Because now she's here, brimming bright with her newly given hydro vision and a weirdo who keeps on grinning at her.

"Why do you keep on staring at me?" she asked to the choppy haired boy beside her whose lips seemed to be glued in place to that sinister smile of his.

"Huh?? What do you mean? I'm not staring at you." he laughs as he shot her a wink making the poor girl blush.

It has been well over a week since she has met the eccentric "Hanako." She knew next to nothing about him apart that she had almost saved him from falling onto the deep waters below Starsnatch Cliff. It was a wonder how he even got into such a situation in the first place and all he had to say was "I wanted to go take a closer look at that island on the horizon when I had fallen, teehee."

Teehee my ass.

Now both travelers are walking beneath the trees of Whispering Woods. Nene suggested that she would take him back to her home in Mondstadt where she could give him a tour around and see if anything had caught his eye.

The sound of leaves crunching beneath their feet and the whispers of the wind on their ears had began to bother her. It was quiet and awkward and she doesn't know how to break the ice and start a conversation.

She glanced at her gleeful friend and saw that he has an anemo vision. Nene wasn't dumb and she had already seen that vision before but was never able to ask how he got it.

Besides it's probably rude to ask a stranger how they got their visions.

But they had known each other for a week to not be labeled as a stranger towards each other, right?

"Hey I was wondering, how did you get your vision?" the boy had decided to break the ice himself and stopped to turn to her.

"My vision?" she asked and he only nodded in response as he pointed at hers that was hooked to her chest.

She looked away. It was a rather embarrassing story than an inspiring one. One that she had hoped that she wouldn't need to recall anymore.

"So, I used to like this guy." she said as she sat down on one of the boulders on the way. Hanako following. "He was everything I could have ever wanted in a boyfriend. He was the son of a wealthy merchant from Inazuma, was dashingly handsome, has a vision and is even a high ranked adventurer too!"

Hanako squinted his eyes at the mention of the guy. Clearly irritated at her former fascination of him.

"And I wanted to be his girlfriend. So I did everything I could to make him notice me. I helped everyone in the guild whenever they needed it. I gave out meals I made from scratch to everyone. Heck even the most bizzare and most dangerous of commissions and quests I did just to make him notice me."

"And?" Hanako raised a brow.

"And so he still hasn't. And that's where my best friend had convinced me to go confess. But he rejected me. Saying that I was weird because he didn't know me at all..." she looked down, embarassment and irritation writen in black ink on her face. "And that I have fat ankles."

The boy beside her barely stifled a laugh when she headbutted him.

"Yeah I didn't take that rejection lightly. There was a time when I had locked myself up in my room. Everyone was worried about me. Aoi was concerned because she doesn't see me out as much anymore. The guild was concerned because I wasn't there to help everyone out anymore."

"But then I had decided. Who cares if he doesn't like me." she let out a sudden laugh which made Hanako jump in his seat. "My worth is not based on what a silly boy thinks about me but for who I am!"

"That's the spirit, Yashiro!" Hanako yelled with both his fists balled up to the air cheering her on. She smiled at him.

"And thats when I went out to go make a wish on the fountain near our house. As I opened my eyes after I had given my wish, a hydro vision was lain right before my eyes." a hand bristled over the item on her chest.

"Wow, now that's quite a story." Hanako said as he scooted closer to her.

"But about that guy though." a pout emerges from his lips. "You're much better of without him. After all, you got me now. And that's ten times better than whatever that guy is!"

"Hanako!"

"Just joking!" he chuckled and she let out a sigh. Honestly for a guy she had only met in a week he sure was flirty.

But her mind wondered back to her question from earlier. And now that he had brought the topic up she was sure she could ask it without making it awkward.

"About yours though. How did you get it?" she asked pointing to the anemo vision sitting like an emblem on his hat.

He looked away and shrugged as he stood up, offering a hand out to her.

"That's a story for another time, Yashiro. But as long as you stick with me, I will tell the story behind it. Okay?"

Her question was left unanswered but with his assurance that one day he would surely tell her, she nodded.

"Okay."
