Chapter 2: The mansion in the sky

Chapter Text

I walked into the party, hints of burning weed and glimmers in the peoples' eyes told me that I was in the right place. I had been invited to this restaurant by an old friend that I haven’t seen in years, I know that she is a hardcore stoner but even this is a bit much for her. They call this place ‘Rhythm Kitchen’. I’ll see if it is a Rhythm Kitchen or not.

I looked over to the kitchen, preparation for a feast, I stopped to get a proper look inside, this shit was legit, this equipment looked expensive. I spotted one of the staff holding a chicken by the feet, she looks pretty, I thought.

I sat down at a booth, waiting for a waiter to ask for my order. My ears hear the Dj play old school beats. Puffy, The magic dragon from sixty-three. If You Were the Only Girl in the World from fifty-three and many other old classics. I bopped my head to the beat, remembering that my granddad loved theses if he was still here.

I finally got severed after what finally what felt like hours, I didn't mind with this Dj's music taste. I blinked with surprise when I realised it was that pretty lady from before and my face warmed when she greeted me “Welcome to Rhythm kitchen, where life is delicious. what would you like?”

“I would like the tea please,” I requested, I might as well, The lady nodded and left to the kitchen. I sat back in my chair, looking out on the dance floor to see all the people weren't dancing. they were just standing in the middle of it, high out of their minds. their eyes glowing with a rainbow glow. I wondered if I should call nine-one-one, I'm glad I didn't.

The pretty lady came back and put my tea down, she looked like a lily in the sun. I thanked her, I hesitated before I took a drink. Why? Did I know that this go wrong?

I finally took a sip, it tasted almost like my mother's carrot cake she used to bake. I set my teacup and I felt and smelt a new world of remoras, I could smell, duckling feet, apple pie and much much more .I stood up, my feet feeling every beat.

I smiled, I'm never going to leave.Never again.
