Chapter 2: Hope For The Future

Summary:

The crew makes it to their new home.

Notes:

For the sake of this story, the stage is bigger than it normally is in Chuck E. Cheese. And the boss character is someone I made on the spot to get the story rolling. :)

And sorry for taking so long, I kind of didn't want to make a part 2, even though I have the majority of the story planned out. Because a few days after posting this, it felt like I was just making a fool of myself for trying to write a serious fanfic on Chuck E. Cheese.

The embarrassment hit hard enough that I didn't bother to continue for months. X(

But oh well, I'll try to write as much as I can for this story!

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

As Freddy was shut down, there was only an empty void, and complete silence. Only to be shaken awake, and hearing voices arguing over him.

“Dude, what are you doing? Are you trying to make us drop him?”

“Chill out, I just tripped.”

“On what? Air?”

The two could be heard squabbling, before another voice from afar asked them if they were ready to go.

Freddy was roughly laid down before being slid into, what he assumed to be, the van that will take them to their new home.

The last thing Freddy heard from them was, “Well, that’s the last one. Let’s tell the boss we can get going.” before the sound of doors slammed shut.

Freddy waited a few minutes before shuffling, and trying to break out of his crate as silent as possible. Only to realize that a few of the nails on his crate were still loose, which made it easier for him to get out. The animatronic peeped through the top before fully sitting up and seeing his surroundings. Using what little light from the small window of the van, he was able to see Foxy laying across from everyone while Bonnie and Chica were stacked on the side of the bear based off the limited amount of space. He waited until the van started to move before standing up and looking out the window. Watching as they drove further away from the place he considered his home.

Once the van finally made it to the road, the reality of all of this fully sank in, and made him feel melancholy. The animatronic pressed his head the farthest he could against the window to see the restaurant before it was fully out of site. He slumped a little before deciding to watch the cars pass by. It felt like he was losing pieces of himself the further he got away, and as the sights became so unfamiliar. It felt like nothing will ever be the same. Based on the constant lawsuits, he wouldn’t be surprised if no one actually liked them anymore, and that they will be shut down again by failing to bring in customers.

As he was preparing to lay back down, a car one lane away caught his attention. Inside a small car that was driving at the same pace as them, a kid was staring at Freddy.

He stared back in surprise before slowly lifting his hand and waving at them. The kid smiled in excitement and waved back before their car drove off ahead.

‘...People will still… care about us.’ Freddy thought before laying down, thinking about all the bad things they did to get their restaurant shut down, and how they will try to stop themselves from making those mistakes again.

“...Everything...will be okay.”

He powered down.

~2 Days Later~

It's been an hour since he has woken up at their new destination. And a few minutes since Freddy tried to resist the urge to open his eyes just to laugh at the two lifters faces as they were bickering like siblings once they realized his lid wasn't nailed shut.

It wasn’t long before Freddy was being moved into the new building, as there was no point now to put back on the lid. He opened his eyes a little to see that this restaurant was bigger than his old one, and had many arcade games. The lifter that was moving him called for help. He closed his eyes as another worker came over to help set him on… a stage.

“Okay, let’s get the rest settled.”

He waited until the footsteps faded before slowly opening his eyes and glancing around him. He turned his eyes to the right only to see what he assumed to be… a rat?

~*~*~

Chuckie couldn’t deny, he was a little sad that they possibly won’t be able to perform anymore. Though their excitement about seeing new animatronics kind of won over as time went on, as they aimed to be optimistic about what will happen to them next.

It didn't help that they set one of them beside him on stage. He resisted the urge to turn his head just to see them and risk freaking out the workers. Even though it was common for him to stare at people, he hasn’t moved since they got here, so it would be suspicious if he faced them all the sudden.

In his peripheral vision he watched as the other performers were brought in. He realized it was a chicken, a fox with a eyepatch and a hook (That’s cool!), and a… bunny? He would have guessed it was a Hippo based off the purple skin, but seeing the ears and nose told him otherwise.

They were placed on the stage next to Chuckies friends before, who he assumed was the groups Boss, told everyone that it's best if they come back tomorrow to put everything in place as it was already midnight when they arrived.

As the lifters were preparing to go, while making sure they didn't leave anything important, Chuckie heard footsteps on the side of him. The rat tried his best not to focus on the person's face that came over to stand in front of him so he wouldn't give away that he was awake. It appeared to be the other group's boss.

“I went to this place a lot as a kid.” The man patted Chuckie on the shoulder, “Just as scary as I remembered.” He turned around, and quickly walked down the steps of the stage. “Okay guys! Let's get outta here before it gives me nightmare fuel.”

One of the workers speed walking to the door called, ”Too late for me man! After seeing them all in one place, I know I'm not gonna sleep tonight!” The rest of them chuckled before heading out the door.

~*~*~

Chuckie let his surprise show once the doors shut. ‘Wait, is that true?’ He knew he scared some kids with his looks, but he didn’t know he was that terrifying to look at.

He hesitantly faced the newest animatronic. “Hey, do I really look that disturbing?”
Freddy fully turned to finally get a view of matted old fur, covered with old withered clothes, before looking into the rats lifeless eyes that looked like it was use to staring into everyone's soul.

“...No, you look very friendly, I like your clothes.”
Freddy said, giving his honest opinion.

“Oh, thank you!” Chuckie said before finally taking a look at the metal dented rusted bear, with a big bowtie and hat, with eyes so realistic that they look like they have been stolen from an actual person.

“You look great too, I love your top hat.” Being genuine as well.
“Thanks!”

It felt like the awkward tension in the room was broken before it was able to fully form by the two leaders' small, but nice interaction. By the looks of it, they were able to motivate both sides to start moving, and fully observe everyone in the room. After the two watched everyone getting along, Chuckie turned to Freddy.

“You might like living here. We heard a few times that we get more traction than most family restaurants in the area, because we’re animatronics, and our building is bigger.”

“Sounds like things were going pretty well for you guys. Why are you shutting down?”

“Our higher ups realized our debt was beginning to get too big, and the cost of the property here went too high. We might be relocated or scrapped for money. That’s why our building was sold to your company so easily.”

The bear paused, ”Oh. Well, I hope you guys get to stay around for awhile before they decide,” Freddy loosened up and smiled as he got more comfortable. “I would like to get to know you guys.”

“Likewise!” The rat said cheerfully before holding out his hand. “I’m Chuck, but people call me Chuckie. Our restaurant is called Chuck E. Cheese. It’s nice to meet you!”

The bear reached out to shake his hand. “My name is Freddy. Our place is called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. It’s nice to meet you as well.”

‘I hope we become friends.’ The two thought in unison.

Notes:

I like to imagine that they don't even know how creepy they look, lol. But you can imagine them as regular, cute looking animatronics if you want tho, no ones stopping you.

I also didn't specifically state which version of the Chuck crew it is, so you can decide what they look like. For me, I think of the 2000's version. :D

Notes:

Okay a few things. In this story, the majority of the lore is gone. The animatronics only try to stuff the night guard in the suit because they believe he is a endoskeleton. And I keep jumping in and out of the fandom so I forgot most (tbh all) of the lore and didn't want to get anything wrong so I took everything out. So mostly just wholesome vibes here. :) And I wanted to make the night guard Mike, I might ruin his character on accident. I will possibly make a separate part telling about the weird info I found about Chuck to make this story.

Comments fuel me! Even if it's just a reminder to make part 2 if I'm taking too long or pointing out mistakes.

Hope you liked it, see ya! :)
