Chapter Text

Amity walked her way to her locker, full of anxiety. This crush really has spiraled out of control. She thought. The whole Gay Coven Club had become involved, as well as her siblings. Who was next? The detention track students? Scratch that. Best not to tempt fate.

As Amity finally opened her locker, a purple note fluttered out. She gently picked it up from the ground when it landed. The witchling gave her locker a confused look, and it gave as close to an "I don't know, either" expression as it could. Amity opened the note and read:

"Dear Amity, I have been enamored with you since the day I saw you. You're on my mind all the time. Every time I catch a glimpse of something minty green, I think it's you, and my heart drops when I discover it's not. When I think of your smile, all I can think is how much I wish it was for me. I hope someday maybe it will be."

Amity's face was stuck in a beet red, shocked state. While she always wished for a love note from a certain human, this was not from said human. The scrawl was too neat and loopy to be Luz's. And she could never quite imagine Luz giving more eloquent compliments like this.

"Hey, Ams! Whatcha got there?" Speak of the wild one…

"Oh! Luz! Uh, nothing important!" Amity stammered out.

"And I assume that little heart is nothing?" Luz teased. Amity was ready to deny anything was up, but Willow and Gus walked up to the two.

"Oooh, are you getting love notes from a secret admirer?" Gus asked excitedly upon seeing the note. Meanwhile, Willow looked on with a more wary and suspicious expression.

Amity blushed and stammered, "Uh, I-I guess? I have no idea who it could be, though…"

"Detective Luz is on the case," the human loudly declared while holding up finger guns.

"I'm sorry, what?" Amity questioned and the rest of the group held curious looks. "Detective. Y'know, solves cases and stuff. Usually while shrouded in darkness and all tough and emotionally closed off?" The rest just shook their heads, no recognition evident in what Luz was describing.

"Okay, forget the detective thing," Luz waved off, "Point is, I'm going to help you!" Luz was too clueless in her need to help her friend to pick up on the fact that the witchling would not be interested in anyone else. But Luz was already grabbing her by the hand, making her blush once again, and dragging her off to who knows where.

Meanwhile, Evie hid just around the corner, facepalming. I had been hoping for jealousy, guess that’s just not Luz’s style. Should’ve guessed as much, she thought. Evie had suspicions about Luz having a crush on Amity, but had never gotten around to testing it. It could just be hopeful thinking, afterall. Now that the little human was back at school, she could start her meddling. It was not, however, going as planned. She couldn’t use any of her potions, not that she would ever use a love potion anyway. Those were strictly forbidden. But no one could see that a potion to give one of the bumbling teens the confidence to confess was another matter. Just a little boost. A little nudge. But she supposed some things had to be solved without magic directly involved. Fine then.

Evie followed the two girls, just to see Luz entering one of the secret passageways around Hexside. Drat.

“C’mon, they can totally help us!” Luz spoke to Amity as she dragged her along. Amity felt like she had enough people helping her out, but to now get the former Detention Track kids to help her… Titan, did Amity need a different type of help at this point.

“Okay, you guys have eyes and ears all over this school!” Luz exclaimed in front of the detention trio, “Surely you saw who left the note in Amity’s locker or something like that.” The three looked to one another and all shook their heads.

“Nah, dude,” Viney spoke, “We’ve been pretty focused on classes since we don’t have to sneak into them anymore. Though, there is a group we share the secret passages with that have more free time.”

Amity broke out into a sweat. She knew it was the Gay Coven Club Viney was referring to. She was totally going to get busted for letting them help her with her crush on Luz! No, just play it cool like you don’t even know them. They’ll surely have a plan for this… right? She thought.

“Oh yeah, the Gay Coven Club. They’re… well, kinda weird,” Jerbo spoke. Barcus seemed to bark in agreement. To be called weird from these three was surely odd and truly an accomplishment of sorts for them. Luz just gasped in excitement.

“There’s an LGBT club here?! Why did no one tell me?! I wanna join!” She was absolutely vibrating with excitement while the rest of the room looked at her endearingly.

“I’m sure they’ll let you join. They’re pretty friendly,” Viney said. “Well, their leader is a bit of a grouch, but otherwise they’re right up your alley, Luz.” Luz did a fist pump out of excitement with a small “Yus!” to follow.

And now, we have come full circle, Amity thought, I am doomed.

Notes:

Sorry for not updating for so long and that it's so short. A lot has been going on in life but I will try to get back into writing this and even form it around what happened in show. Thank you all for reading :)
