Chapter Text
Waking up on a soft bed in a warm room was not what (y/n) was expecting, and as it was so out of the norm it caused her great panic. She tensed at the sound of someone shifting around somewhere in the room. Taking a deep breath she tried to quickly sit up, instead she was met with a huge wave of nausea. Leaning over the bed she vomited into the conveniently placed trash can.
“You should take it easy there, small chance you might have a concussion.” the other person in the room finally spoke.
Turning her head and setting the trash can down she stared at the man who had been with her in the alley. His blue eyes were looking at her in slight amusement.
“Where am I?.” (y/n)’s throat was dry and scratchy.
“Currently you are in the home base of a budding villain organization.” he said this as if he wasn't expecting her to freak out over it. She was more concerned but if this man really wanted to kill her, he seemed like the type to kill someone before even thinking of bringing them to his ‘secret hideout’.
“Why did you bring me here?”
“Well that's an odd way to say thank you.”
She sighed, turning to look at her surroundings. The room itself was pretty bare and small, the mattress she was currently laying on was pressed into the far corner of the room. A small table cluttered with empty beer cans and an ashtray that was in desperate need of being cleaned out.The only source of light was a lava lamp that was perched on a shelf behind the other occupant of the room. The man in question sitting now more relaxed into a lazy boy that looks like it had seen better days. He was watching her with his eyes half closed, she couldn't tell if he was expecting her to attack or if he was just enjoying the fact she was in her current predicament.
“Am I being forced to stay here?” She kept her features neutral awaiting his response, she didn't want to give away the slight panic and rage at the idea of being held captive again.
“That depends.” he leaned forward, placing his elbows on his knees cradling his face, turning it to the side like a curious animal watching its prey.
“Are you planning on going to the authorities for anything you saw last night. Because I for one would think about the implications of my involvement in a crime such as murder before reporting any crimes.” he raised a single eyebrow as he finished.
The threat he gave was very clear. He was expecting her to rat them out, she shook her head with a smirk and a scoff.
“No one has to worry about that, I have no desire to be put back in a cage.” her face took on a bitter expression at the idea.
“Well,” he slapped his hands on his thighs standing, “if that's the case then you know that if any of this gets to the heroes or any other form of authority, I will find you and what I did to those two men will look like a mercy.”
As he stood up there was a knock at the door whoever was on the other side didn't wait for a response. Bursting into the room was a small blonde girl, she looked like a highschool student. The crazed look in her eyes was a tell tale sign she was more than what she looked.
“Toga! What have I said about knocking.” he growled out glaring down at the girl.
Toga completely ignored him to stare at (y/n) her smile grew to a crazy grin. (y/n) could only blink owlishly at her.
“Dabi when are you going to let me play with your new friend” She kept her eyes pinned to the girl on the bed.
“You aren't playing with anyone right now, she is leaving, understand.” The one now labeled Dabi gave her a hard look, Toga looked at him, eyes narrowing.
“Fine.” She turned and left with one last look at the stranger in Dabi’s bed. He reached up to rub at his forehead mumbling under his breath about privacy.
“I'll take that as a sign I'm free to leave.” she stood up on shaky legs, Dabi stayed where he was watching her get her bearings back.
“Yes you are, our boss though he might want to talk to you, what you did last night was pretty amazing and we could use someone like you.”
(y/n) shook her head as he was finishing his sentence. “I’m not looking to join anyone's crusade, I have my own issues I'm working with.”
He handed her the bag she brought to the warehouse, she pulled the bag open to double check nothing had gone missing. Everything seemed to be in place, not that she had full inventory on all the sharp implements inside the bag.
Dabi walked over to the door to his room opening it to a dimly lit hallway. She threw the bag on her shoulder and followed him out to a larger room. They seemed to be in some type of bar or something that looked like one. A few other people were strewn around the room. The one she now knew as Toga was currently playing some form of card game with a man in a black and white suit. A man in a top hat and someone with a lizard quirk were both at a small table in the back, the lizard man was enjoying a piece of what smelled like banana bread enthusiastically and the masked man seemed to just be either in disgust or awe, (y/n) could only guess not being able to see his face, with how quickly he was scarfing down the treat. The bar held two more interesting characters. The person behind the bar was an intriguing sight with black and purple fire like shadows dancing around where his face should be, the other man was covered in hands, real human hands she could not say but it was still a bit of a shock.
(Y/N) thought she was going to easily just leave the building and never think of this whole ordeal again, she was of course wrong. The hand man turned to look at her from around the corner of one finger.
“Wow Dabi, your recruitment tactics are interesting to say the least.” He turned around in his chair. Dabi kept his back to the other man, his shoulder tensing slightly. (y/n) turned to look at him with a blank stare.
“Did he even ask you if he wanted you to join or just bring you home to his bed.” The blue haired hand man looked at Dabi eyes crinkling in mirth at his comment. She didn't reply to his intended jab. Dabi did respond.
“She doesn't want to join. I didn't think you wanted any unwilling captives at this time, but you do seem the type. Having to force people to get what you want, you're used to that, aint that right.” Dabi sneered at him.
Turning back around in his chair the man just chuckled under his breath. Dabi turned back to (y/n) raising his hand showing her to the door. She didn't expect him to follow her out onto the street. It was still dark but there was light spilling onto the horizon.
He leaned against the wall outside the building, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it with his quirk. He tilted his head to look down at her. He squinted his eyes looking her up and down. She raised her eyebrow in question to his staring. Looking away he blew the smoke out the side of his mouth.
(Y/N) took a look around to get her bearings to make her way back to her home. She realized she was still in Kamino so the trek back wouldn't be too difficult. Turning back to the stranger who, for some reason, helped her out this evening and took a deep breath.
“Thank you.” His eyes cut sharply towards her. “You didn't have to help, and you did so thank you.”
“Don't mention it” he mumbled looking away from her.
She turned around heading towards the signs that marked the location of the train station.
Dabi watched the strange girl leave. She didn't say much, but all the same he felt the need to know more about her. It was pure curiosity, he wanted to know how she was able to take someone three times their own size with just their hands, and why she didn't have the reaction to him or the whole villain thing in general. That and she was attractive, he couldn't help that Crusties comment had him thinking about how long it had been since he had bumped uglies with someone and he couldn't deny he might have checked her out a few times on the way back to the hideout while she was passed out in his arms. He didn't touch of course, except where he had to hold her but the thoughts were there.
He shook his head taking another drag, he couldn't let some cute piece of potential ass get him all riled up, even more so since he had no idea where she lived or who she was. He had more important things to worry about, his revenge and the plans of the league. He turned walking towards an even seedier part of town, he knew just how to get his mind off a woman.
She was on guard the entire time back to the warehouse, her nerves were shot by the time she fell into her shitty mattress to try to shut her eyes and get her head on straight before she made her next move. Waking up what felt like an eternity later but one look at her laptop it had only been three hours. She deemed that enough rest and moved to get up. Her body protested with every, step the last month had not been kind to her body, she was frustrated. She needed to be in the best shape she could for her plan. There was no room for error, she needed info and needed to be able to move quickly after her first move. The minute any of the board of directors got wind of where she was and what her plan was they would put as much fire power as they could behind them. Right now they didn't want to bring attention to their little pet project, that is why anytime she had a run in with their foot soldiers it was never bigger than a team of three, covert op type movements at all times.
She did wonder if after starting her attack on them if they would up the stakes and finally just be rid of her, and take her out once and for all. How much money had they wasted just trying to put her back in containment so they can continue whatever experiments they want to continue, eight years spent on resources and manpower for her recapture. She was angry, angry they had kept the world from her, that they had started out as, what her child mind thought, kind people and turned on her as she got older. She became a tool, a means to an end, an end that was unknown.
Part of her wanted to end it all, to finish herself off so she wouldn't have to run anymore, so she could breathe and be free finally. She couldn't though, she refused to let the people who did this to her continue to live their lives with no consequences to the choices they made. She tried taking a deep breath to calm herself, not wanting the dark thoughts to overwhelm her. She had a plan, and she had some time. She would wait a week to heal then make her move back to the facility.
