Chapter Text
Harry slammed the door shut and ran away to the common room as quick as his legs would take him. He was scarred for life, no doubt about it. All he could see was- no, he didn't even want to think about it. But the image was forever burned into his brain.
Looking back behind his shoulder, he sped up after he saw the door open once more. He ran as fast as he could, all the way to the Gryffindor common room, muttering the password hastily before dashing in and closing the door. The fifth year slumped against the portrait door and let out a sigh, his heart beating a mile a minute. He closed his eyes and tried to catch his breath.
"Harry?"
Opening hie eyes, Harry saw Hermione standing before him, a concerned look on her face.
"That's me," the boy answered.
"Are you alright? You look a bit...frantic."
"I just saw Snape and Umbridge...in a broom closet...snogging." Well, the puking feeling was definitely back. Every time he thought about it, all he could see was the two bodies pressed together, Snape's hands creeping up the toad's shirt. Harry shuddered.
Hermione's nose scrunched up, and Harry decided now was a good time to change the subject.
"So, you and Ron, huh?"
"How'd you find out?" the girl asked with a sigh, rubbing her forehead with her hands.
"Ginny. Not surprised, just thought you would have been the one to tell me."
"Oh, I really am sorry, Harry. Ron thought you'd be all weird about it, and you were in the hospital wing, and I just didn't think it was a good time to tell you!"
"So you were planning on telling me once I was let out then?" he questioned, and Hermione hesitated, very much indicating that no, they weren't planning on it. "Whatever, I'm going to shower." He hadn't had a proper one in days, just a load of cleaning spells, courtesy of Madame Pomfrey.
Walking into his dorm room, Harry rolled his eyes as Dean and Seamus quickly broke apart. He walked past them into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.
The following morning, Harry was escaping breakfast when Draco Malfoy stopped him in the hallway. He didn't even speak, just stood in front of him. Harry, trying to show some sort of deficiency, held eye contact, refusing to be the first to look away. But after a few excruciatingly long seconds, the Slytherin was off on his way, striding into the Great Hall. Odd...
Harry ignored the weird encounter, putting it in the back of his mind. He shook off the odd feeling and the pounding of his heart. It was probably just because he hadn't eaten a lot recently.
When the Gryffindor had finally reached the library, Ginny and Luna were already there, teasing one another, smiles stretched out from ear to ear. The two were too cute, honestly.
"Well if it isn't my two favorite people!" he exclaimed, crouching down an wrapping an arm around both of them. He stifled a laugh as Ginny yelped and nearly fell out of her chair. She glared at him as he stood up and grabbed a seat of his own.
"Harry, how lovely to see you!" Luna said gleefully, eyes flickering over to Ginny as she snorted.
"Lovely's not exactly the word I would use."
Harry shook his head as he let out a breathy laugh. It was nice being around these two. Smiles and laughs were never forced, and conversations were always interesting, to say the least.
