   Summary

   "Aya..." He whispered, fingers trailing along her cheeks. "I have to break my promise." She was a light in the darkness. Heroes were fakes. They were nothing but cheap imitations of the meaning of the word. They were trying to borrow light from the sun, where Kaiya radiated it. She created her own light. And so many would be after it. Her attitude would no doubt get her into trouble. He couldn"t take her with him. This was a path he"d realized was what he had to go down, but to drag her down into the darkness with him... to dull her light simply because he wanted her besides him.
