Chapter Text
Sometimes, individually, they would feel like princes and princesses locked up in towers, and whenever they were together, only then, they were normal people allowed freedom. Most of the time, they didn't think about it. Now, however, they have an opportunity to dress up as royalty, and only half of them can bear the idea. Velma has her comfort zone. Shaggy likes pirate clothes too much, and talking like one is just too much fun.
Daphne, as usual, is trying to get another type of attention from Fred, and as usual, he's oblivious.
He congratulates her on theft from a crime scene.
Then, completely misunderstanding the situation, he says to Velma, "You're complicating things. Why have a separate relationship with Shaggy when the 5 of us already have this awesome relationship?" and she chooses to ignore the counting of a dog in that number and starts thinking seriously about it.
"Just try and relax. We have the rest of our lives together to work out any problems."
The girls share a look. Fred shares a bag of goo. Shaggy doesn't share his popcorn.
