Summary:

“Are you happy now, Jungkook?” Jimin asks plainly.

Jungkook makes a sound to respond but closes his mouth. He feels anything but happy right now. He isn’t sure why, but he couldn’t care less he got demoted. He was bored and only did his tasks because he was able to mess with Jimin. But now seeing him like this, it did the exact opposite. He felt something heavy in his chest and he didn’t know what it meant or what the feeling was.

“I’ve worked so hard only for it to get stripped away because of a moment of irrational thinking.” Jimin sinks to the floor and covers his face with his hands. Jungkook feels awkward for wanting to comfort someone he supposedly cannot stand. He stiffly reaches out and pats his back a few times before retracting his hand.

Work Text:

Jungkook smirks as he watches his human commit sin. He feels goosebumps rise on his skin as he sits perched upon a dresser. He pulls out a small black book and pulls a pen out of thin air. He draws a small line, adding to his track record. He makes the pen disappear and folds the book into his coat. He hums as he hears the soft moans of his human below him. He cannot wait until he rubs it in Park’s face. Another one of Jimin’s humans fell for his whispers and betrayed Jimin’s advice. He pats himself on his shoulder and snaps his fingers before transporting himself to no man’s land.

He nods to the other non-human creations as he passes by and whistles as he makes his way to the elevators to go to hell. He presses the buttons and sucks on his teeth while glancing around. It’s a bit early, even for Park. He smirks to himself at the inevitable that shall come. The elevator rings and he walks in, making his way to his quarters.

He walks into his section and has a seat on the large chair near his desk. He boredly checks out his nails and starts to countdown in his head. He taps the desk, his excitement bubbling, and his ability to stay composed slowly evading him.

“3, 2, 1…”

“JEON. JUNGKOOK.”

He chuckles and slowly composes himself. He perks his legs on his table and feigns innocence as a very heated Park Jimin barges through his doors.

He makes eye contact with Jimin for a moment before he feels himself being pushed up against the wall, a few inches above the ground. He snickers and Jimin’s eyes flash blue before he tightens his hold around Jungkook's neck.

“What. Did. I. Say. About. MESSING with my HUMANS,” Jimin says in a low but threatening voice through clenched teeth. Jungkook reaches to put his hands on the ones holding him up.

“Slow down there, little one,” he rasps, his smirk never leaving him even though he was being choked. Jimin is livid and Jungkook feels goosebumps rise on his skin as he watches Jimin get angrier.

“Do you think this is a joke to me? How many times are you going to mess with my humans, huh? Is this fun for you? Bother some other angel, you prick,” he barks at Jungkook.

“I was only trying to let them have some fun,” he muses as he turns his head to the side, feigning indifference. “They seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves when I left them, what’s the big deal?”

Jimin’s eyes stay bright blue and his brows furrow even deeper. He lets out a small growl before he brings Jungkook towards him for a moment before slamming him against the wall, the drywall falling between them. His breath hitches before he leans in and whispers in Jungkook’s ear.

“This is the last time you do this. I’m going to teach you to never mess with me again.”

It’s silent for a moment before Jimin snaps his fingers and Jungkook feels himself being pulled and they're suddenly in the grand hall. Jungkook finds himself being dragged on the linoleum flooring and crosses his arms as he looks up at the man causing a scene.

“Are you gonna let me go and be civil or continue to act like a child?” Jungkook asks mildly.

Jimin seems to ignore Jungkook, so he presses further.

“What? Can’t handle that I made one of your sweet little humans sin again? Maybe if they weren’t so weak, they’d be able to resist temptation,” Jungkook sighs dramatically, waiting for a response. Jimin continues to drag him without a word and Jungkook is becoming impatient.

“Maybe you’re just mad that I almost made you like one of your little humans. No one can resist me I gu—”

Jimin stops in his tracks before he turns around, his eyes wide and glaring. His cheeks are a blazing red and Jungkook can feel the hall start to shake. Jimin’s eyes turn into an ice blue as he pulls Jungkook up by his button-up. He brings them face to face, their noses grazing each other.

“You would do well to shut your filthy mouth,” Jimin grits out before throwing Jungkook across the hall. Jungkook grunts as his back hit the floor and chuckles.

“Always so feisty Park. You wanna have a fight? Then we’ll have a fight.” Before Jimin could respond, Jungkook was within inches of him restraining both his hands in front of him. Jungkook’s eyes flash red and Jimin huffs out angrily.

“You were always too rash. I just wanted to have a little fun and you’re the perfect target,” Jungkook muses. They’ve created enough of a commotion where a small crowd has started to form around them but Jungkook doesn’t care. He’s messed with Jimin for far too long and has barely gotten any reaction from him. He knows he’s breaking rules but something deep inside of him pushes him to go further. Jimin thrashes in his hold as Jungkook tightens his hand around his wrists.

“I’m just trying to do my job and you’re always fucking it up. I’m so SICK and tired of you messing with me. You’re a disgusting being and I want nothing to do with you. Now let GO of me,” Jimin bellows. Jimin snaps his wrists out of Jungkook’s hold and stares at him with murderous intent.

“This is why no one talks to you. Not even the dwellers of hell acknowledge your existence because of how utterly vile you are. You're a sad excuse for a devil and you’re so shit at your job you go after my humans,” Jimin spits. Jungkook sees red and lunges for Jimin's throat.

They topple one another and go at each other's throat, both intending harm while an even larger crowd forms around them, some encouraging while others shake their head in disappointment. This isn't the first time Angel Jimin and Devil Jungkook had an argument but it never escalated to this. It was one of the only rules to exist between their different worlds: limit their contact with each other and respect the boundaries of their creation.

This was defining a breach of law but both clearly had no intention to show restraint. Before any could cause real harm, the entire hall was dimmed and a booming voice made everyone still.

“EEEEEENOUGH. BOTH OF YOU, GO TO THE 43RD FLOOR IMMEDIATELY. THE REST, DISPERSE BEFORE YOU RECEIVE PUNISHMENT AS WELL."

The crowd gasps in shock as they watch the angel and devil pause in their dispute.
Jungkook and Jimin both still, their eyes wide. It’s practically near impossible to be summoned unless you’ve really crossed lines. In Jungkook’s 1200 years, he’s never even heard it once. They both look at each other in shock and quickly get up. They both sneer at each other but the fear is written all over their faces. They both adjust their clothing and make their way to the elevators.

No one ever goes up to the Deity. They meet the Deity when created but that’s the last time one wishes to see them. Jungkook rolls up his sleeves and checks his watch. He sighs as he looks over to the reason he’s in this mess in the first place and scoffs. Jimin was one of the highest levels of angel there was: an archangel. Jungkook used to watch him curiously until he was given his marking and was told he would be amongst the devils. Jimin was only a few hundred years older than him but he quickly rose in rank and became loved by all. This frustrated Jungkook and he soon realized messing with Jimin and his humans seemed much more rewarding than leading randoms into sin.

At first, it was small things. Making his humans lie or slander; being unkind or cruel to those around them and the like. Jimin’s response, or lack thereof, causes Jungkook to push it even further. So his duties morphed into leading Jimin’s humans astray specifically. He began to lead them into deep sin and Jungkook raised in ranks. It was both pleasing and exhilarating.

Jimin didn’t pay him much attention until one night when angels and devils were in the grand hall to watch the new recruits be summoned. It was a long event and Jungkook was determined to get Jimin alone and try his biggest task yet: lead Jimin astray. It was completely ridiculous and not likely to happen but Jungkook was mischievous and he knew of his own charm. He needed a reaction out of Jimin.

The new recruits were marked and sent to their respective roles. There was small chit chat but the angel and devils rarely mingled. Jungkook quietly watched and searched for a certain angel. It was crowded but he only had to look at one end of the hall. His eyes narrowed as he found the angel he was looking for. He swallows the small amount of hesitation he had and makes his way towards the angel with intentions far from holy. He’s alone and Jungkook jumps at the opportunity, grabbing his wrist and taking him to the nearest empty hall.

“W-what are you doing, let go!” Jimin sputters while gripping the hand wrapped around his wrist. Jungkook allows the adrenaline pumping through him to take the lead. He gets a few stares, but he pays them no mind as he searches for a quiet corner. He sees a door down the hall and a lightbulb goes off. He hastily makes his way to the hidden room with a growingly frustrated angel behind him. He pulls Jimin into the room and closes it. He wastes no time and turns to face the confused man behind them. It’s silent for a moment and Jungkook raises his eyebrow. He expected to be instantly yelled at but he is met with silence. Jimin stares at him and Jungkook stares back with equal fervor. Jimin blinks a few times before clearing his throat and pulling his hand out of Jungkook’s hold. He looks down and takes a step back, rubbing his wrist.

Jungkook cocks his head and observes the angel in front of him. He has a somewhat smaller frame than him and sports platinum blonde hair. He’s clad in a sheer, all-white top and slacks. Jungkook has to admit, he dresses the part. He looks like the stereotypical innocent, law-abiding angel. It contrasted his jet black hair, jewelry adorned wrists, and all-black attire. It was amusing to Jungkook, the angel was truly a sight. Jungkook won’t deny his beauty. He’s not sure if it’s an archangel thing, but he has a slight glow to him and it intrigued Jungkook.

“Do you have a staring problem or do you thrive off of bothering me, Devil Jungkook?” Jimin asks stoically. Jungkook smirks and steps forward.

“You know my name then?”

Jimin scoffs. “I’m sure I’d remember the jerk who aims for my humans.” Jimin folds his arms and takes another step back.

“So you do pay attention, that makes me feel a lot better,” Jungkook says while stepping forward once more.

“What do you want, Jeon? You interrupted my free time. Not all of us use our existence to waste away like you. If there’s no purpose to your interruption, I’ll be on my way.” Jimin tries to go past Jungkook, but he’s stopped by the menace himself.

“My, you’re impatient. I only wanted to say hello. I’ve been trying to get your attention but you’ve been ignoring me for years,” Jungkook attempts his best pout.

Jimin lets out a breath of disbelief. “You truly are a menace. Angels keep their distance from Devils. I thought this was well known, guess there are a few who aren’t the sharpest tool in the box. Now if you don’t mind, I’d like to return back to the party.”

Jungkook ignores his request and invades Jimin’s personal space. He brings himself chest to chest with Jimin; the closer he gets, the more Jimin attempts to place more distance between them until Jimin’s back is against the wall. Jungkook pauses as he makes eye contact with Jimin. He’s not sure what it is, but he feels extremely drawn to the man in front of him. The tension is visibly there but neither break the eye contact. Jungkook’s body moves on its own accord and he finds himself caressing Jimin’s chin with one hand, the other sits idly on the wall behind them.

Jungkook sees Jimin still under his touch; he can hear both his breath hitch and his heart rate speed up.

“It’s hard not to pay attention to you, Park,” Jungkooks whispers. Jungkook notices pink dusting Jimin’s cheeks and he inches closer.

“Pretty,” he mumbles as he gently grazes his nose against Jimin’s. He closes his eyes and hums.

Jimin is silent as Jungkook continues his ministrations. He gently drags his thumb across Jimin’s jawline until he reaches his bottom lip.

“Jungk—”

Jungkook hesitantly drags his thumb across his lips, stopping Jimin from speaking. They feel softer than he imagined. He wonders what it would feel like to kiss him. Jungkook realizes Jimin has his fingers around his shirt and they’re clasped tightly. He realizes that Jimin is as entrances as he is and he takes the opportunity and runs with it. He licks his lips and moves closer to Jimin’s face. The tension is so thick and Jungkook is completely captivated by the angel in front of him, to say the least.

“Can I? Just once? They’re so soft...have you always been this enticing Park?” Jungkooks asks gently before leaning in and hovering over the angel’s lips. He can feel Jimin’s breath on his and the adrenaline coursing through his veins. He waits for Jimin to push him away and say no, but it never comes. His mind is screaming no repeatedly, this could remove his rank completely but his gut is telling him to close the gap between him and the angel.

He leans in hesitantly and their lips touch briefly. It’s soft and he hears Jimin exhale into the kiss. It was more than Jungkook could ever imagine. It felt like their lips fit into each other. He pulls away for a moment to catch his breath before diving in for another kiss. The euphoria is short-lived, as they both pull back abruptly, a burning sensation eliciting the reaction. They both stare at each other wide-eyed. Jungkook touches his lips while Jimin covers his mouth with his hands, he presumes out of shock.

“I-I need to leave.” Jimin rasps out before trying to bolt for the door. Jungkook turns and grabs his arm.

“Wait! What was that? It burned me... did you feel it too?” Jungkook asks. Jimin turns away from him, silent for a moment.

“Stay far away from me. You’re nothing but trouble and nothing good can come from a Devil whose sole purpose is to lead those astray. Never speak of this again. I don’t associate with low-levels especially not a devil.” Jungkook releases his arm before Jimin completely disappears.

Jungkook is confused. Yes, that was his intention wasn’t it? To seduce Jimin and to lead him astray. Yet...he had completely forgotten about it once he had Jimin close to him. It felt right to be close to Jimin, so why did it burn? He traces his lips before his arm idly falls to his side. The words stung for an unknown reason and Jungkook’s confusion turned from hurt to anger. The words replayed in his head and he grew more frustrated. If Park wanted a war, then a war he shall give. After all, he doesn’t associate with low-level devils such as himself.

The ride up felt like an eternity. There was always this tension between the two of them (Jungkook knew where it stems from of course) but it was almost suffocating. The bell rings and they both glance at each other before walking into the vast room. It’s intimidating, to say the least. There are no windows nor chairs in the room. It was basically an all-white room that stretched multiple stories up and across. They both slowly walk through before a bellowing voice calls out to both of them, starling them.

“DEVIL JEON AND ARCHANGEL PARK. YOU HAVE BOTH TRANSGRESSED AGAINST THE LAWS PUT IN PLACE FOR BOTH OF YOUR RANKS.”

Jungkook listens in shock while Jimin is on his knees with his palms clasped together.

“Forgive me Deity. I was irrational, please spare me. I am a loyal servant—”

“SILENCE. Do you forget that I am All-Knowing? All-Seeing? I have been tolerant but today was the final blow. You are both to be stripped of your titles and sent to the human realm as punishment.”

“WHAT?” they both yell in unison.

“You’re demoting us to filthy humans?” Jungkook asks furiously.

“Please, you can’t do this!”

“ENOUGH. I’ve made my decision. Do you dare to challenge it?”

They both hang their heads as the information settles in. They shake their heads no and wait for their punishment.

Jungkook looks out the corner of his eyes and sees tears leaving Jimin’s eyes. For a moment, he feels guilty.

“You will remember nothing of your past life here and will start over. May this teach you both a lesson. The moment you walk out of the doors, you will be sent to the human realm and have no recollection of your times here. That will be all.”

In a moment they both glance at each other and Jungkook sees nothing but pain and hatred.

“Jimin, I’m really sorry I—”

Jimin exhales loudly before roughly wiping away his tears and standing up. He turns to walk through the door before he stops for a moment.

“I pray I never encounter you again. You truly are nothing but trouble.” Jimin doesn’t wait for a response from Jungkook and walks straight through the doors without looking back. Jungkook releases a breath he didn’t realize he was holding.

“Guess this is it. It’s now or never I guess,” he sighs as he makes his way past the double doors.

Jungkook hates mornings. As if it isn’t torturing enough to have to be up at 6 am to make it to class, he ran out of coffee so now he needs to rush so that he can go to the nearest coffee shop and sprint to class. He takes one fo the fastest showers of his life before quickly getting dressed and slipping his bag on his shoulders. He checks his pockets for his necessities and bolts out the door. He shivers, the autumn is bearable but the morning frost is always an unpleasant surprise. He clutches his sweater to his chest and checks his phone for the time. He hastily makes his way to the coffee shop.

Jungkook opens the door only to find a long line. He groans but gets in line. He skims through his phone for the time being and enjoys the warmth of the shop and the comforting smell of coffee.

“Next in line please!”

Jungkook shuts his phone before looking up and walking towards the counter. He fumbles with his back pocket and pulls out his wallet.

“Good morning, what can I get for you?”

“Two shots of espresso over ice please, thanks.” Jungkook pulls out the exact change and hands it to the cashier; he has practically memorized the prices of his drinks by now.

“Cool, that’ll be two forty—Oh, thanks. Can I get a name for the order?”

“Late,” he smirks before bowing slightly and walking to the side where there’s less of a crowd. He goes back to scrolling through his phone until he hears the name of his coffee being called.

“One doppio for Late!”

Jungkook walks over and grabs the coffee and pauses when he sees none other than Park Jimin working as the barista. He smugly cleans the espresso machine with a wet rag and throws it over his shoulder before turning to Jungkook, his arms folded and a knowingly smug look on his face. Jungkook really wishes his morning was stress-free for once in his life.

“Late, huh? You definitely look like you were rushed this morning,” he says as his eyes travel up and down Jungkook’s body. “What can you expect from a photography major, if that even counts as a major,” Jimin sneers.

Jungkook rolls his eyes and takes a sip of his coffee. Not today, satan.

“We all can’t be perfect and annoying like you Park. Thanks for the coffee, hope you didn’t spike it with anything,” Jungkook retorts before he leaves the coffee shop.

Jungkook hears the professor giving out their final assignments. He overhears portfolio and knows that’s his cue to leave. He puts his AirPods in his ears and heads out of the class. He makes his way home to grab his camera and goes through his checklist one last time. He looks up and walks right into a guy, knocking the both of them over. Jungkook groans, an apology on the tip of his tongue until he sees Jimin below him with his mouth agape.

Can I EVER catch a break? Jungkook makes his way to get up but freezes when he sees Jimin staring at him. He feels a slight tinge of electricity jolt up his spine. Why is he staring at me like that?” It takes a few more moments until Jimin blinks a few times and shoves Jungkook off of him.

“You sure have a habit of pissing me off. Most people use their eyes when they walk, Jeon,” he says as he gets up and pats dust off his jeans.

“Shut up Park. Has anyone ever told you how fucking obnoxious you are? It was clearly an accident. I would apologize, but since it’s you…I think I’ll pass.” Jungkook gets up and rubs his wrist; he winces at the sting but shakes it off.

“I broke your fall for you, not sure why you’re wincing like a baby. You rammed straight into me like a bulldozer and because of a stupid misunderstanding, you can’t even properly apologize. Typical,” Jimin taunts as he folds his arms across his chest.

Jungkook clenches his fist. “Of course you would call it stupid, it’s the fact you’re an egotistical asshole who wears his own head as a hat. I don’t know what people see in you. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have actual things to do instead of sitting here and losing brain cells.” Jungkook bumps his shoulder into Jimin’s and walks off.

It's been like this since he was a freshman in college. When Jungkook was young and naive, he developed a crush on the junior boy who everyone talked about. Park Jimin was the sweetheart of the campus and Jungkook felt a pull towards him that he couldn’t explain. They had mutual friends and had spoken a few times but it was nothing more.

One night, there was a party hosted and it was Jungkook’s first time drinking. He isn’t very keen on parties but his friends at the time convinced him to go. They mentioned a certain Park Jimin attending and Jungkook was sold.

About an hour or so into the party, the generic spin the bottle was put into play and of course, they forced Jungkook to tag along. Everything was going just fine until Jimin spun the bottle and it landed on none other than Jungkook.

Jungkook’s heart leaped out of his chest. This meant 7 minutes in heaven and Jungkook instantly felt his palms sweat at the thought. He stared at the bottle in shock and began to internally panic. Jimin, full of confidence, got up and extended out his hand.

“Guess it's just me and you, freshman. C’mon,” Jimin grabbed his hand and led him through the crowd to the small room they designated as the spot. Jungkook was a nervous wreck and he looked everywhere but at Jimin. The music was dulled in the background and the lights were dimmed. Jimin took a spot on the bed and proceeded to pat the spot next to him. Jungkook walked over and sat on the bed, a foot away from Jimin.

“I don’t bite, you know.” Jungkook looks up at Jimin and he stops for a moment to take in his features. He’s even prettier in person and Jungkook didn't expect to be this close to him.

“Have you never kissed someone before?”

“Erm, well, I've kissed girls before. It’s my first time kissing a guy.”

“Mmm, well I hope I don’t disappoint? Treat it like any other kiss, just follow my lead, okay?” Jimin’s voice is soothing so Jungkook just nods and scoots closer. Jimin places one hand on his hip and the other behind his neck. Jungkook feels like he’s going to throw up but he doesn’t want to give away his inexperience.

“Relax. This is supposed to be harmless and fun, right?” Jungkook nods and before he knows it, he’s kissing Park Jimin and it feels better than he imagined. It was a slow, languid kiss. Jimin presses Jungkook closer as they deepen the kiss. Jungkook feels butterflies erupt in his stomach at the sensation. Jimin’s lips are warm and wet; his breath is minty and alcohol lingers on his lips. They kiss for what feels like forever until they slowly retract themselves, both of them breathing heavier than they were before. Jungkook leans in for another kiss and it feels amazing.

Suddenly, Jungkook feels a burning sensation and pulls back abruptly and touches his lips. Jimin seems to have felt it too as he covers his mouth with his hand.

Jungkook is confused, to say the least, but he stands up immediately as the realization of what just happened dawned on him. He kissed Park Jimin.

“Okay, t-times up. I’m leaving.” Jungkook runs for the door before Jimin grabs him by his arm.

“Wait! Don’t leave yet. What was that sensation, did you feel it?”

Jungkook wanted desperately to be let go, the confidence he had slowly dwindled. He had felt the burn as well but he couldn’t handle all the stimulation at once; it was too much.

“I have somewhere to be, s-sorry. See you at school.”

Jungkook quickly runs out of the room and the small group playing looks over and starts to hoot and holler. Jungkook turns beet red and quickly leaves the house, his face burning with embarrassment. He just kissed his crush and left in a hurry for no apparent reason. He groans as he rubs his face in his hands and makes his way back to his dorm.

For the next few weeks, rumors swirled about Jungkook’s dramatic exit and people started to say Jimin was Jungkook’s first and he got a hard-on while they kissed so he left in a hurry out of embarrassment. There were others too that talked about the details; Jimin rejecting him, Jungkook having bad breath, Jungkook being a bad kisser, you name it. It was all insanely stupid to Jungkook and he could weather the most of it. One part of it was true. It was his first kiss but everything else was completely fabricated. Jungkook shakes his head as he walks past a myriad of stares and hushed whispers. The most annoying part wasn’t the unwanted attention nor the humiliation of said-rumors. No. It was Jimin and his inability to diffuse or deny the rumors. Jungkook attempted to approach him once but he was humiliated by his friends calling him a virgin and making fun of the so-called “incident” from the party. Jungkook looked to see if Jimin stop them, but he simply would stare at Jungkook and utter a weak ‘cut it out guys.’ He and Jimin had a few chances to speak but they were always interrupted and Jimin seemed to be indifferent or out of it when the topic came up. Jungkook eventually gave up. Jimin’s behavior was super off but Jungkook couldn’t help but feel as though there were missing pieces to his memory. He found himself forgetting the rumors until he was reminded. He wasn’t sure if it was the hurt or the anger that made him kinda coast by those weeks. His memory was fuzzy and he had constant headaches. He blamed it on what was going on and eventually, he felt better. The rumors subsided and his wish to speak to Jimin dissipated as well. He was heartbroken and vowed to never go near Jimin again.

That didn’t work too well in his favor. Jungkook constantly found himself running into Jimin or being in the same courses. They eventually realized they had an overlapping friend group, so it was near impossible to avoid him. Jungkook finally caught a break when Jimin graduated only to find out he was doing his masters at the same university and worked at his favorite coffee shop.

It started off as small teasing and insults here and there until one day Jungkook went off on Jimin and his friends because of their teasing. It turned ugly and the rest is history. Rumors circulated that Jungkook and Jimin hated each other and it was known to the entire campus. Jungkook didn’t care to deny the rumors and eventually, his feelings took the shape of what others would say about him. Everyone knew: Jungkook and Jimin couldn’t be in the same room as each other for more than ten minutes.

Jungkook shudders at the horrible memory and twists the key in his lock. He fumbles around for his camera bag and checks the time.

“Hopefully I can get some good shots in before sunset.” Jungkook quickly grabs an apple and his portable charger before he slings his camera bag over his shoulder and leaves for the city.

Jungkook walks around and finds particular things to takes pictures of. This was his quiet time and he truly felt like he could be his raw self. He finishes up his last landscape shots and glances around. His last part of his assignment is a candid portrait of someone but the professor has high expectations and wants something “out of the box,” whatever that means. Jungkook sighs before he walks for a bit. He stops when he sees someone crouched down and petting a stray cat. Jungkook quickly pulls out his camera and aims to take a photo but he stops in his tracks.

Of course, it’s Jimin. Jungkook sighs before putting his camera down and just watches from afar. He thinks once, twice before he shrugs and readjusts his settings on his camera. He takes a few shots and looks at them. Jimin may be a jerk, but Jungkook can’t deny his beauty. He looks like a natural and Jungkook envies his confidence. He looks through the picture of Jimin until he feels a presence over his shoulder. He looks and jumps back when he sees Jimin right behind him looking at his photos.

Jungkook’s face and neck blush immediately as he hides his camera in his arms.

“Don’t remember giving you permission to be my paparazzi. Were you stalking me or was it just another coincidence?” Jimin giggles. Jungkook grumbles and almost wants to delete the photos on the spot.

“It's really rude to look over people’s shoulders but if youmust know, I'm finishing my portfolio for my final. I needed a candid portrait but my professor is a little particular. I was told to go out of the box so as soon as I saw you, it felt right.” Jungkook fiddles with his camera. He waits for the snide or rude remarks but it never comes. Confused, he looks up and Jimin is just...staring.

“I’ve never been used as a muse for an assignment before. It seems hard.”

“Relax, Linda. Don’t get ahead of yourself, you're not my muse. As far as being photogenic, you’re a natural at it. The pictures look beautiful.” Jungkook covers his mouth, realizing what he said.

Jimin seems to light up at the comment. “Was that you just complimenting me Jeon?” Jimin feigns shock with his eyebrows raised and mouth covered with his hands.

“No,” Jungkook mumbles. He clears his throat before looking around, trying to distract himself.

“Anyways, I really gotta go. I’ll delete the pictures.”

They’re quiet for a moment as if both of them want to say something. Jungkook almost does but decides against it and starts to walk away before Jimin blurts out, “Why do you hate me?”

Jungkook stops in his tracks and turns around. Jimin has never asked him questions about their ‘relationship’ in quite some time. They had both eventually accepted it. It just...was what it was.

“Who said I hate you? If anything, I should be asking you that question,” Jungkook mumbles softly.

Jimin stills at Jungkook’s response and Jungkook rolls his eyes. Jimin always has a lot to say but as soon as he asks a question, he blanks. He doesn’t have time for Jimin and his staring.

“Well?”

“I liked you. We kissed and I thought that maybe you'd want to at least be friends but you just blew up on me and my friends and then the cold shoulder started.”

“Really? Is that all you remember? Did you forget about the rumors everyone made up about me after that shitty night?” Jimin’s eyes widen a bit and he looks almost...sad.

“I told everyone that wasn’t the truth…”

“Oh, and yet everyone spoke about it as if you told them yourself. And when I went to talk to you to try to clear things up, you completely blew me off for your shitty friends. You're a coward and I don’t know why I ever felt the need to be close to you.”

“I’m sorry,” Jimin blurts.

“I honestly wasn’t thinking about it. It was a dumb rumor and I told those closest to me that it wasn’t true so I assumed that was the last of it. They never spoke about it in my presence so I assumed it died down. About blowing you off...I really didn't mean to! I was trying to think of ways to approach you and you had come and confronted me about the rumors. I wanted to clear the air but you got angry and stormed off. I've tried to just tease you here and there to get your attention but nothing seemed to work."

Jungkook crosses his arms. “That sounds like a pretty fucking stupid excuse, Park. So you were incredibly rude to the guy you supposedly liked? What are we in, fourth grade?”

“I admit my methods are dumb but I can't explain it. After we kissed my mind was fuzzy for a whole week. I felt like I remembered nothing except you and like super vivid dreams of you.”

Jungkook pauses before he turns his head to Jimin.

“Wait, say that again?”

Jimin sighs. “Are you evening listening? I said my mind felt fuzzy for a whole week. I couldn't remember classes or where I went or what I ate. I could barely remember the rumors! All I could remember were these stupid vivid dreams. I also felt this weird pull to you but every time we tried to talk, my mind went blank. I’m not crazy, I swear. It's a stupid excuse and I’m sorry but I really wasn’t trying to be inattentive to the rumors or to you.

“That's...odd.”

“What?”

Jungkook scratches his head. He had felt the same after their kiss. Jungkook had been having extremely vivid dreams about him and jimin but he told no one as he’d be seen as a hormonal teenager. He wondered if it had any connection to the burning sensation he felt when they kissed.

Jungkook felt confused but something in him wanted to be closer to Jimin.

Huh? You’re supposed to hate him, dummy. What do you mean you want to be closer to him? Snap out of it!

Jungkook rubs his temples. He should just go for it, they’re already talking and Jungkook is dying to know.

“What were your dreams about?”

“Huh?”

“Tell me. What were they about?”

Jimin opens his mouth to say something but immediately closes his. His face and neck are pink and he shuts his eyes tightly.

“T-that’s a little personal, don’t you think? You haven’t exactly been the nicest to me so why should I tell you something as personal as a dream? What if you make fun of me and run off to tell everyone? Thanks but no thanks,” Jimin avoids eye contact and runs his fingers through his hair.

“I’ve been having weird dreams too. They’re super detailed and quite embarrassing as well. I’m not being malicious, I’m just trying to see if there’s a reason for the similarities.”

Jimin furrows his brows together.

“Alright, you go first then. If I know you’re not trying to play me, then I’ll tell you about my dreams too.”

Jungkook sighs. Guess he has no choice but to embarrass himself first.

Here goes nothing

"I have vivid dreams of us like...in a different world. You were an angel and I was a devil…” Jungkook blushes as he begins. Saying it out loud is much more humiliating than he anticipated but there’s no going back now.

“We argued a lot. For like centuries. It was weird. Then, I had a déjà vu moment when we kissed but we were alone and I…” Jungkook scratches his head. He closes his eyes and decides he’s completely fine with being the campus clown. He needs to just get it off his chest anyway.

“IwasleadingthekissandtheburningsensationhappenedanditlookedlikewewerenotsupposedtodothatsothenyouhatedmeandthenwefoughtforawhileafterthatandIguesswegotbannedfromtheheavensforhavingabigfight,” Jungkook says in one breath, his eyes shut tightly.

His palms are sweating as he slowly opens his eyes to watch Jimin’s reaction. Jimin’s eyes were as wide as saucers and he looked completely shocked. Jungkook feels the blush returning to his face and immediately covers his face with his hands. He’s such an idiot, why did he think he could tell PARK JIMIN of all people about his supernatural wet dreams.

“Please say something…” Jungkook whispers, his anxiety eating at him.

“Are you a mind reader or are you fucking with me?”

“Why would I be fucking with you, I’m quite literally dying of embarassment right now.”

Jimin ponders for a second and starts to laugh. Jungkook groans. He knew this would happen. Why would Jimin out of all people take him seriously or not take the chance to make fun of him.

“Look if you’re gonna mock me, we can stop where we are right now. I don’t need to deal with this.” Jungkook angrily grabs his camera bag and makes his way past Jimin before he’s tugged by his shirt.

“God, wait! You are one of the most impatient people I know. Let me explain,” Jimin huffs.

Jungkook is growing more annoyed with Jimin but he sighs and waits.

“First of all, I’ve had identical vivid dreams. So surprise, we’re both insane. And second, I’m laughing because we’re even arguing in our dreams. We’re quite literally the textbook definition of sexual tension mixed with emotional constipation.” Jimin quiets again while looking at a very confused Jungkook and bursts out in laughter once more.

Jungkook looks at Jimin like he grew a second head.

“You’ve had the same dreams? Bullshit. You’re probably just messing with me.”

“Jeon, can you not be dense for one moment? I’ve had the literal EXACT same vivid dream and it’s been going on since we kissed at that party. Why would I embarrass myself and tell you this. I could easily pretend you’re the crazy one. It would explain why it’s so fun to tease you,” Jimin says as he flicks Jungkook’s forehead.

“So what you’re saying is you’re an asshole both in reality AND our dreams. Perfect.”

“Hey! I was the nicer one in the dreams, YOU were the jerk antagonist who started everything,” Jimin pouts.

“Right…” Jungkook rubs his neck. It’s a little awkward and the tension is still there.

“So...what now?”

“I...haven’t thought that far into this conversation, to be honest,” Jimin huffs out. He smirks before he grabs Jungkook’s shoulders and faces them towards each other.

“Let’s start over then, asshole. I’m tired of messing with you. It's exhausting and getting old, don't you think?

Jungkook looks away from Jimin but nods.

"Well, then I guess this is the perfect opportunity to express how fucking attractive you are. And don't try to act like you don't feel it! I know you've got the hots for me too," Jimin says as he wiggles his eyebrows.

“W-what are you saying, how can you say that so shamelessly,” Jungkook sputters pushing Jimin’s arms off of him.

Jimin shrugs. “What can I say, you’re a dick but you’re cute. Phew, glad I got that off my chest. I feel so much more relaxed.

“Aish, you really are annoying.”

Jimin reaches out a hand, a peace offering Jungkook presumes. “Friends? Or atleast frenemies for now.”

Jungkook rolls his eyes. The audacity of this kid. He contemplates what he’s about to do and gives in. Jimin is an enigma and Jungkook can’t help his curiosity about the man. What does he have to lose?

“Come onnnnn, my arm hurts and I’m hungry. Just shake the damn hand, Jeon. I’m not asking you to marry me.”

Jungkook reaches out and they shake hands.

“Frenemies.”

Jungkook and Jimin are the talk of the campus. Jungkook tries his best to ignore the attention, but it’s hard. He’s also trying to get accustomed to a nicer version of Jimin. It’s...nice but sometimes Jungkook swears Jimin purposely pushes his buttons. At first, they bickered a lot. Jimin went out of his way to tug on Jungkook’s hair or poke his sides.

“My, my Jungkookie you better stop growing muscles before I have to claim you as mine. You’ve got too many admirers now,” Jimin teased as he would poke his chest.

Jungkook got used to it after some time. Ironically, Jimin’s extroverted personality meshed well with his more introverted side. He was loud and friendly but the more time they spent together, the more Jungkook actually looked forward to them meeting.

“JEON!” Jungkook hears as he walks towards the cafeteria and spots a smiling Jimin eagerly waving at him. He clutches his tray as he makes his way over to his new found friend. He sets his tray down before he bows gently to Jimin and their friends and takes a seat across Jimin.

“Yah, what did I say about being so formal with us,” Jimin says as he throws a fry in Jungkook’s direction.

Jungkook gives a small smile before he starts to eat his wrap. They have small talk about their classes and assignments due. The spring semester was almost over and Jungkook was nervous. He’s graduating and he’s been stressed about his final portfolio. He’s been working on it since the start of the fall semester but he still hasn’t found the right candid portrait for his assignment. Every single one he’s submitted to his professor for advice, he’s turned away.

“I need you to push yourself, Jungkook. I want to see raw emotion. I know you can capture it. Don’t disservice yourself by turning in this rubbish.” Jungkook couldn’t deny feeling discouraged and uninspired. He had one more week and he could feel the pressure. Jimin tapped his nose and Jungkook left his train of thought. He refocuses on Jimin and smiles.

“I can see the gears turning in your head. What’s wrong?” Jimin asks, his palm under his chin.

“Ahhh...it’s nothing. Just my portfolio stressing me out. The professor trashes every portrait I show him and it’s due in one week. I’ve put my blood, sweat, and tears into this since the fall but nothing appeases him,” Jungkook sighs as he plays with his fries.

“Hmm,” Jimin hums.

“Let’s take your mind off of things. Go on a date with me.”

Jungkook chokes on his fries and coughs. Jimin hurriedly gets up and pats his back.

“Jungkook! Hey, chew your food you dork. I don’t need you dying on me.” Jimin hands him his water and Jungkook chugs it. He clears his throat before looking up.

“Did you just ask me out? On a date? Like with me?”

Jimin stops wiping the table and looks at Jungkook fondly.

“Yes, you idiot. I didn’t stutter. After class, I wanna take you somewhere. Bring your camera if you want, just in case you find something. I’ve got class though, so I'll see you later Jeon.” Jimin grabs his face and squishes it between his hand. Jungkook feels rooted to the ground as he watches him leave. Jimin makes him feel warm.

Jungkook absentmindedly rubs his cheek as it settles in that he’s going on a date with Park Jimin. Like an actual date that he was asked. Jungkook feels excited but he pinches himself.

No. It’s just a date. It’s nothing serious. We’re obviously just friends and Jimin is a little flirtatious, that's all. Sure, he’s called you hot before but... Jungkook shakes his head violently. Why is he so nervous? He takes his tray to throw out his trash and spends the rest of his free time panicking over his date with Jimin.

Jungkook looks at his phone for the time. Jimin’s class should end any minute now. He ran home to get his camera bag and portable charger but he couldn’t find anything to do to keep him busy. He decides to just wait outside Jimin’s class and prays that his mind doesn’t make him a nervous wreck before they head out.

He hears chairs being pushed back and watches the door as Jimin walks out. Jungkook sighs in relief when he sees Jimin spot him with an excited look on his face. He hopes he’s not the only nervous one. He waves before Jimin says bye to his friends and makes his way over to him.

“Picking me up from my class? I could definitely get used to this.” Jimin says mischievously as he pinches Jungkook's cheek. Jungkook turns red and coughs to hide his flushed face. He looks at Jimin before he extends his arm out towards the hallway.

“Lead the way.”

“Don’t mind if I do,” Jimin sing-songs before he grabs Jungkook’s jacket and pulls him towards the door.

Jimin takes him to a park he’s never been before. The weather has been warming up and Jungkook is grateful. He loves the spring. The air always feels crisp and the weather is not too hot nor too cold. To his surprise, Jimin brought out a picnic basket with all their favorite finger foods and snacks. He pulls out a small bottle of red wine and wiggles his eyebrows again (a habit Jungkook can’t help but smile at).

“Ta-dah! See, aren’t I a great date? I got all our favorite foods, the softest blanket, a great spot and great company. How many brownie points did I score?”

Jungkook laughs. “Mmm, I guess I can’t complain. You are a great planner.”

Jimin seems satisfied with the answer and hums while pouring the wine. They spend the rest of the afternoon talking about anything and everything. Jimin is animated when he speaks and Jungkook can’t help but feel enraptured in the way he speaks. They eat until they can’t fit another grape into their mouths and they’ve finished the entire bottle of wine. They lie back on the blanket and watch the clouds move. It’s quiet but Jungkook doesn’t mind. It’s a comforting quiet. He closes his eyes as he listens to the calming sounds around him.

“Do you feel better?” Jimin asks softly.

Jungkook slowly opens his eyes and turns his head towards Jimin. He smiles at the boy next to him. It takes a moment but Jungkook pauses when he really looks at Jimin.

“Don’t move,” Jungkook says as he jolts up and reaches for his bag.

“What’s wron—”

“Nothing! Please don’t move. You’re perfect just like that.” He pulls out his camera and turns to a very confused looking Jimin.

“I uh...you looked…can I take a few photos of you? The angle and lighting are really good.” Jungkook tries his best not to show his shyness but what his professor said rang in his ears. He wanted raw emotion.

“Just pretend there’s no camera and it’s just me. Can you do that?”

Jimin lays back down and nods. His head rests on his arm and he looks at Jungkook like the way he did before.

Jungkook swallows and nods as he lays in front of Jimin. He snaps a few photos and looks at them. What he sees through the frame makes him stop. Jimin truly is a sight.

“Perfect, just like that. Can I take a few more?”

Jimin shyly nods and adjusts his position. Jungkook spends the next twenty minutes taking photos of Jimin. They move around and Jungkook guides Jimin through different poses. Jungkook knew Jimin was a natural but it was almost unfair how beautiful the pictures were coming out. Jungkook looks through them and hums.

“I think that’s good. Sorry for being spontaneous. Do you want to see?”

Jimin smiles and nods before scooting next to Jungkook and watching him flip through the photos. Jimin watches in awe. Jungkook rarely showed others his photos and they really were stunning. They got to the photo of Jimin up close and Jimin gasps. He looks like that? He looks up at Jungkook and sees him smile.

“You’re really beautiful Park Jimin.” Jimin’s eyes go wide as he looks at Jungkook. It takes a moment before Jungkook realizes what he says and gives a small gasp before turning to Jimin. Before he has a chance to apologize, Jimin interrupts him.

“Do you really think that?” Jimin watches Jungkook as his eyes dart back and forth between Jimin’s.

“Do you really think I’m beautiful?”

Jungkook swallows and nods.

“Yes.”

They’ve somehow moved closer to one another, Jungkook’s hand on Jimin’s knee. Jungkook feels his heart beating erratically. He feels his entire body being pulled towards Jimin and his body is on fire.

“Then why haven’t you kissed me yet?” Jimin asks quietly.

“Do you want me to kiss you?”

“Yes.”

“What if it burns you again?” Jungkook asks jokingly.

“Who doesn’t like sparks when they kiss?”

Jungkook’s palms sweat but he decides to just go for it. They both slowly lean in before Jungkook pulls Jimin by his shirt and they meet for a kiss. They both sigh into the kiss, before Jungkook leads and licks into Jimin’s lips. It was soft and smooth; Jungkook savors the tastes of wine on their lips. Jimin pushes Jungkook back and he lays on top of him as they kiss slowly. Jungkook lets his hands wander as they slowly trace up Jimin’s sides towards his face.

They kiss for what feels like forever until they both pull away slowly with a small smacking sound, the both of them catching their breath. Their eyes are closed and Jungkook holds Jimin’s face close to his. Jungkook slowly opens his eyes and sees the beauty that is Park Jimin above him.

“Beautiful,” he whispers. Jimin giggles as Jungkook sees a noticeable blush dusting his cheeks.

“So...how would you rate the date?” Jimin asks cheekily before pressing small kisses to his nose and face.

“A solid 12/10.”
