Work Text:
Winters in Hangzhou were always chilly, even if Ye Xiu bundled up in multiple layers. Han Wenqing had come to visit and they were headed back to the warm shelter of Happy’s house. Ye Xiu felt a shiver run down his spine as a particularly cold wind blew past them, a shiver that Han Wenqing didn’t miss.
“Are you cold?” Ye Xiu let a languid smile spread across his face, even as the wind nipped at his face. He half wished he hadn’t smoked his cigarette earlier considering the temperature, he would have stayed warmer if they’d headed straight back.
“Ah Wenqing don’t look so serious.” Han Wenqing’s face didn’t move, likely thinking that this was just his face, that he wasn’t looking serious, it was just how he looked. Ye Xiu leant up to press a kiss to his cheek and Han Wenqing didn’t like how cold his lips seemed.
Ye Xiu offered a muffled protest when Han Wenqing’s jacket was suddenly slung over his shoulders but despite this, he couldn’t resist the urge to lean into the sudden warmth. Han Wenqing ran like a furnace, no matter the weather surrounding him and his jacket was warm but he soon shook off his distraction in favour of protesting and trying to give the jacket back.
“Wenqing if you freeze to death do you know what your fans will do to me?” Han Wenqing just zipped the jacket up and tugged Ye Xiu closer in an attempt to warm him up.
“We’re nearly there.” Ye Xiu realised that he was right, they were only a few minutes away from the house and his boyfriend likely wouldn’t freeze to death in the meantime. He smiled at the realisation that the sleeves were far too long for his arms, swallowing his hands and keeping them warmer.
He glanced up at Han Wenqing, ready to make a teasing quip about how he couldn’t grow any taller unless he wanted his clothes to turn into tents, but he paused when he caught his boyfriend looking at him. The moment he was caught, Han Wenqing pulled his gaze away in favour of staring at anything else. A sly grin spread across Ye Xiu’s face and his voice was clearly heard as he entered the house, catching his teammates’ attention.
“Ahh Captain Han, could it be that you have an ulterior motive behind lending me your coat?” The moment Happy caught sight of Tyranny’s captain they took the opportunity to remove themselves from the common areas as quickly as possible, lamenting that they couldn’t teleport. While Ye Xiu was shameless in Glory, he was just as shameless around his boyfriend and they all wanted to get through the night without feeling nausea.
Han Wenqing’s ears were burning red and it couldn’t just be from the cold while Ye Xiu’s lips stretched into a delighted smile. He gazed up at Han Wenqing, reaching up to brush cold fingers against the hot blush while his boyfriend focused on tugging off layers as the house was warm.
Ye Xiu refused to relinquish the Tyranny jacket however, shedding his other layers but draping the jacket over his shoulder even as they moved to the sofa.
“Could Captain Han like seeing me in his clothes?” Ye Xiu wondered idly how long he’d have to tease his boyfriend before he was tugged into a kiss. “Perhaps he thinks Tyranny’s colours suit-“
Ye Xiu crowed with triumph when warm lips covered his own, Han Wenqing tugging him onto his lap with ease, Ye Xiu grinning into the kiss at the casual show of strength. Kissing Han Wenqing was always a thrill, similar to Glory but this always sent a coil of heat to his stomach as Han Wenqing licked into his mouth.
When they broke apart, Ye Xiu’s cheeks were flushed red and his hands were fisted in Han Wenqing’s shirt. When he leant in for another kiss he was stopped by Han Wenqing’s hand coming up and he slumped onto his boyfriend’s chest, question clear in his eyes.
“It’s impolite to your teammates.” Ye Xiu, who lacked the same consideration and who’s face was thick enough to withstand the dirty looks and half-veiled innuendo tried to lean in again but Han Wenqing remained firm. Ye Xiu repositioned himself so that he was pressed against Han Wenqing’s side, tucked under his arm instead, even as he complained.
“Ah Han Wenqing, Han Wenqing why do you have to be so polite?” Knowing the question didn’t require an answer, Tyranny’s captain settled more comfortably against the sofa as he switched on the TV, flicking to find something tolerable.
He was fully aware that Ye Xiu would be more focused on him than whatever he put on and so he paid little attention to what the channel was when the remote was plucked out of his hand and Ye Xiu pressed more firmly against his side.
“Go on!” Qiao Yifan wondered how he’d been outnumbered into peering down the stairs to see if it was safe to sneak into the kitchen and get a snack. He was given strict instructions that if Ye Xiu and Han Wenqing were making out that he was to report back with disappointing news.
He crept down on silent feet but what he saw surprised him.
Ye Xiu was clearly fast asleep, head tilted back, eyes shut and breathing soft and even while Han Wenqing was still awake with one arm slung over Ye Xiu’s shoulder while the other carefully rearranged the jacket covering Ye Xiu. The Tyranny jacket covering Ye Xiu.
“What are you all doing?” Su Mucheng’s voice rang out as she pushed past the gathering on the stairs but like Qiao Yifan she stopped short at the sight in the living room.
The look on Han Wenqing’s face was not one Happy had ever seen before. Actually they’d never seen anything outside of fierce competition or stoic silence from Han Wenqing but Happy hadn’t expected to see such a tender look being aimed at Ye Xiu’s sleeping form. Admittedly, Ye Xiu was arguably far more tolerable when he was asleep, less likely to trick you into doing something before smiling and walking away.
Su Mucheng, fearless unlike the rest of them, saw no issue in pulling out her phone and taking a photo. Han Wenqing looked up at the sound and everyone except Su Mucheng dashed up the stairs- but silently. They didn’t want to be responsible for waking Ye Xiu. Han Wenqing nodded while Su Mucheng offered a cheery wave as she began tapping away at her phone.
Han Wenqing blinked when his phone chimed, pulling him out of his thoughts. He carefully eased it out of his pocket, trying not to jostle the man using him as a human pillow. While one hand browsed his phone, the other remained situated in Ye Xiu’s hair, stroking through the strands rhythmically.
Su Mucheng ✓ : @Ye_Xiu is much more tolerable asleep don’t you agree Captain Han?
[Image of Han Wenqing and Ye Xiu curled up on a sofa together. Han Wenqing’s hand was stroking over Ye Xiu’s head and Happy’s captain is sleeping under a Tyranny jacket.]
Huang Shaotian ✓: AHAHAHA @Su_Mucheng speaks the truth, Ye Xiu is only tolerable when he’s sleeping and not talking because when he’s awake he’s spewing all sorts of nonsense.
Wang Jiexi ✓: You have a lot of experience with spewing nonsense @Huang_Shaotian.
Huang Shaotian ✓: EH???? AH WANG JIEXI YOU COME AND SAY THAT TO MY FACE! @Yu_Wenzhou look at what he’s said to me, come and defend my honour!
Yu Wenzhou: ✓: ^_^
9MoreDays: While these interactions are sending me, can we please appreciate how cute they look right now??? Look at the hanye you guys!!!
s.harks o.ver s.weetthings: Exactly!! Just pay attention to the hanye!!!
ShadeOfThunderclap: It’s great when they go after each other like this!
Han Wenqing huffed, amused by the comments and Ye Xiu squirmed as he began to wake up, squinting up at Han Wenqing before lifting his arms for a moment. Ye Xiu grinned as Han Wenqing scooped him up into his arms, carrying him up the stairs to his room. Wei Chen passed the two as he entered his room and scoffed.
“Fucking shameless!” Neither Ye Xiu nor Han Wenqing cared.
Ye Xiu ✓: Look at what @Han_Wenqing left behind
[Image of Ye Xiu in an oversized Tyranny jacket]
Wei Chen ✓: Left behind- YOU STOLE IT OFF HIM
Huang Shaotian ✓ : Ye Xiu that’s so shameless, how can you stand there and not feel any guilt over stealing Han Wenqing’s clothes????
Ye Xiu ✓: You were wearing Yu Wenzhou’s jacket last time I saw you.
Huang Shaotian ✓: PK PK PK PK PK PK PK!!!! YE XIU HOW DARE YOU SLANDER MY NAME LIKE THIS???? PK ME FOR THE INSULT HOW SHAMELESS OF YOU-
Han Wenqing couldn’t help his sigh when his phone refused to stop chiming with notifications ever since Ye Xiu had decided to taunt Huang Shaotian. Blue Rain’s Sword Saint was refusing to let this go and Ye Xiu seemed to be willing to continue to bait him, notifications continuously popping up.
Ye Xiu had stolen another one of Han Wenqing’s t-shirts, citing that all his clothes were in the laundry at this time. It wasn’t too far fetched an excuse, Ye Xiu only ever seemed to own three outfits but Han Wenqing was certain that his boyfriend was simply teasing him.
He didn’t see why this warranted teasing. Based off the comment under Ye Xiu’s latest post, Huang Shaotian also seemed happy to wear his boyfriend’s clothes and there didn’t appear to be any issue with that, outside of Huang Shaotian’s vehement denials. He couldn’t help the way his chest felt warm at the sight of Ye Xiu in an oversized jacket or t-shirt. Ye Xiu looked nice in his clothes, that didn’t mean his boyfriend had to laugh at him over it.
Ye Xiu let out a soft yelp when he was lifted by the waist, his phone falling to the side, forgotten. Han Wenqing set him onto his lap and began to press soft kisses against his shoulder, the skin exposed as the too-big t-shirt kept slipping off his shoulder, exactly as Ye Xiu had planned. He couldn’t help but find joy in a plan working out perfectly, even if it was on a different battlefield today.
He yelped at the sting of teeth and twisted to face his boyfriend, settling himself more comfortably on his lap before pressing their lips together. His hands slid up the back of Han Wenqing’s shirt, nails scratching lightly against his skin.
Ye Xiu’s phone was forgotten as they lost themselves in one another once more. Huang Shaotian was not deterred and Ye Xiu’s phone continued to light up with notifications long after he was distracted by Han Wenqing’s biting kisses.
Han Wenqing wasn’t someone who often used social media, didn’t often post anything outside of strictly promotional pictures along with the rest of Tyranny. But Ye Xiu was in his jacket and his t-shirt and he was haloed in the evening light and Han Wenqing took a photo.
Han Wenqing ✓: [Image of Ye Xiu in an oversized shirt and jacket. He’s silhouetted against the evening light and he’s smiling at the photographer]
Wei Chen ✓: Do you know how to not be lovesick in front of all of us?
Huang Shaotian ✓: Are you lonely old man?
9MoreDays: HANYE HANYE HANYE HANYE SERIOUSLY THAT’S ALL I CARE ABOUT RIGHT NOW, LOOK AT HOW SOFT IT LOOKS
s.harks o.ver s.weetthings: HICKEY I SEE A HICKEY-
9MoreDays: BLESSED BY THE HANYE CONTENT!!!
Neither Han Wenqing or Ye Xiu saw any of these comments. The moment Han Wenqing had posted the image, the gentle smile on Ye Xiu’s lips had his full attention. Ye Xiu had a variety of smiles for the public, most of them infuriatingly smug but this one, the one he was wearing right now, was only seen in private and was always directed at Han Wenqing.
It was almost like his whole demeanour softened, like he didn’t have to have his guard up when it was just the two of them. It would never stop filling Han Wenqing’s chest with warmth. Whenever Ye Xiu smiled at him like that Han Wenqing could only focus on how much he loved him and everything else seemed to slip away as they lost themselves in one another.
They were too wrapped up in each other to care about anything else.
Yu Wenzhou knew that Huang Shaotian could give his attention to something he deemed important for hours, never wavering in his determination. And yes, he found this endearing and admirable depending on the circumstances. At this point in time, he merely found it aggravating.
Huang Shaotian was still trying to get Ye Xiu to take back his comment about the two of them sharing clothes. Personally Yu Wenzhou wasn’t entirely sure what the issue was but if it was important to Huang Shaotian he was willing to leave him to it. However, it was getting late and his bed was lonely and Huang Shaotian was still sat in his desk chair, typing away.
Clearly, drastic measures would have to be employed.
Huang Shaotian startled when Yu Wenzhou slipped into his lap, carefully ensuring that they could both balance without the chair tipping over. His vice-captain’s arms were around him in a moment but he was still typing away at his phone and Yu Wenzhou’s voice was pitched low, breath warm against his boyfriend’s ear.
“Come to bed,” he murmured, eyes already slipping shut and Huang Shaotian made a distracted noise that could have meant five minutes or five hours. Yu Wenzhou didn’t mind that much in the end, Huang Shaotian’s arms were around him, he was comfortable and he soon slipped off into sleep, curled up on Huang Shaotian’s chest.
Huang Shaotian ✓: Isn’t he adorable? @Yu_Wenzhou
[Image of Yu Wenzhou curled up on Huang Shaotian’s chest. His hair is rumpled, his shirt is riding up and there’s a tiny smile on his lips]
Wei Chen ✓ : Do all you kids die if you don’t broadcast how in love you are online?
Huang Shaotian ✓ : No need to be jealous 😉
YuhuangOrBust: Who gave them the RIGHT to look so adorable????? Yu Wenzhou being ruffled is something I didn’t know I needed in my life until right now, I am BLESSED with all these photos recently.
s.harks o.ver s.weetthings: Do you think they’re competing over cute couple photos?
