Work Text:
Nico blinked as he woke up, adjusting to the heavy sunlight streaming into his room. He was exhausted , and was seriously considering just sleeping for the rest of the day and ignoring anything that he needed to do, until he smelled the food. The warm scent of pancakes and coffee filled his nose, and he heard Will humming to himself out in the hall as he made the food. He debated with himself for a moment, then decided that it was worth getting up if it meant he could have coffee.
Nico tugged on the sleeves of the light blue sweatshirt he was wearing. It was Will’s, and it was the most comfortable thing that Nico had ever worn. The sweater itself seemed to get warmer each second that Nico had it on, and Nico had taken to wearing the blue sweater whenever he could get his hands on it. It was far too big for him, not that Nico minded, the sleeves going far past his hands, and the bottom of the sweatshirt falling far below his knees. The grey sweatpants he was wearing underneath the sweater were also Will’s, and they were almost as comfortable as the sweatshirt itself.
Nico trudged down the hallway and into the kitchen, looking around for the source of the scent of coffee.
“Hey, Sunshine.”
Nico started, whipping around to see Will making pancakes, and rolled his eyes immediately. “Can you please not right now, Will?”
Will smiled, but looked genuinely confused. Nico gave another dramatic eye roll when he realized that he would have to spell it out for his boyfriend. “Can you stop being so pretty? Honestly, Will it’s too early for this. I can’t deal with you right now.”
Will laughed, and Nico decided to forgive him because he had made coffee, and Nico really needed caffeine. He picked up the mug with his sweater paws, and slowly sipped it. Will made exceptional coffee, Nico had to hand it to him. It was always just the right temperature, and Will knew just the way he liked it. As the warm liquid trickled down Nico’s throat, he gave a quiet hum of pleasure. Unfortunately, Nico drank quickly, and was disappointed when the mug was empty. Choosing not to linger on this fact, Nico shuffled over to Will, dragging his feet against the hardwood floor.
Nico wrapped his arms around Will, who was still making pancakes, and buried his face in Will’s back, drawing a soft laugh from Will.
“C’mon, Sunshine, I gotta make pancakes, it’ll only take a few minutes.”
Nico didn’t like that logic, so his wrapped his arms tighter around Will and nuzzled closer into his back.
“Neeks.”
“Nooo, Will, don’t you love me?” Nico’s protest was muffled by the fabric of Will’s shirt.
Will sighed and started walking, much to Nico’s confusion. Nico allowed himself to be dragged along by Will, until warm hands slowly detached Nico from Will. Nico made a sound of disapproval, pouting as Will walked away to finish up with the pancakes. Nico hunched down in his chair, crossing his arms defiantly.
When Will turned around next to tell his sulking boyfriend that the pancakes were ready, he had to laugh at the sight he was met with. Nico had fallen asleep, and was draped over his coffee cup, Will’s sweater still bunched around his hands, and black hair covering his face. Will walked over to him with a sunny smile on his face, taking a moment more to admire his sleeping figure before brushing some of Nico’s hair away from his face, and gently saying, “Sunshine, wake up.”
Nico’s eyes slowly fluttered open, and he glanced at Will before dropping his head again. “I told you, Will, I can’t deal with you this early in the morning.”
Will grinned. “I made pancakes, do you want any?”
Nico grumbled, and grabbed a pancake off of the plate. Will went back over to take a seat across from Nico. “You’re really cute when you’re tired, you know,” said Will, grin growing even bigger when Nico blushed and hid his head in his hands.
“Shut up and eat, Solace.”
