Chapter Text

Apollo stood in front of Klaviers house, holding a backpack with some clothes and a toothbrush. It was a nice house, a lot more than his shitty apartment, it didn’t feel over the top though.

Apollo sighed, contemplating if it wouldn't be too awkward to just head back home and deal with the Wright family teasing

… it really didn’t sound worth it.

Apollo knocked on the door.

Klavier opened up, looking a bit confused, then brightened up as soon as he saw Apollo. Sorta like a golden retriever, if a retriever had a broken arm and significantly less going behind his eyes

“Oh!! Herr forehead! Herr Edgeworth told me you were coming!!! Come in come in!”

There really was no backing out.

Apollo stepped awkwardly in. He’d been here once or twice, to drop off files, but without work related reasons it felt… Weird.

He shook his head, as if to shake off the awkwardness. “Hey Gavin,,, I’m sure you already know why I’m here..?” Of course he knew. He literally said Edgeworth told him you were coming. Dumbass.

“Yes! Edgeworth told me you were coming to help! Thank Gott you are in all honesty! I can’t do anything!”

Klavier rambled on about the agonies of not being able to use both arms, and as ridiculous as it was, Apollo couldn’t help feeling a bit sorry for the man.

“Oh by the way! You can have the guest room! Let me show you to it”

Ah yeah. He was going to be living with him to help.

Klavier led him to a room, a lot bigger than his own in his apartment. It had a little vanity and a nice fluffy looking bed, with a wooden chair in the corner. All in all, the stereotypically unused, impersonal guest room. It felt kinda strange, especially compared to his own room, which had all sorts of shit in it. Little weird thrifted trinkets, gifts from friends, posters from various musicals he enjoyed. He even missed Glunk, the almost certainly haunted doll that just appeared in his house one day.

(A/N: Glunks an actual experience I had. The doll lived with me and moved around my room for about a month or so before disappearing. She had a proper name but I just called her glunk as a nickname. Great roommate, helped me do my laundry)

“Well make y ourself comfortable, I’ll be in the living room! Please come out soon though because I can’t cook like this.” Klavier turned around, his long, untamed hair smacking Apollo in the face as he walked out.

Apollo sighed, he could do this.

Klavier, just like he said, was waiting in the living room for Apollo, and he brightened up and practically leaped out of his sulking position on the couch as soon as the other man walked into the room.

“Ah herr forehead!! Here to make lunch ja?” He said, smirking in a way that made it look like he wanted to say Herr Maid .” Upon seeing Apollo's face, his expression sobered “I really do need you to help me make lunch though, I've been living off of cheese sticks and instant ramen.”

Apollo snorted at this, he knew how shitty it felt to live off of foods like that himself, but the man's quick sobering was still pretty funny.

“Alright, where do you keep the rice.”

Klavier gestured towards a cabinet, where Apollo had to drag a chair over because he was vertically challenged and Klavier couldn't help.

“The shorter the king the higher the crown…” Klavier muttered in an amused tone, almost like he read Apollo's thoughts.

“Shut up you tall ass.” Apollo said with a snort of laughter.

He got the rice, and some leftover steak he found in the fridge, as well as some vegetables that were kinda sad. Not bad, just a little past prime. He grabbed the bottle of soy sauce in the fridge too.

The author is way too lazy to properly write cooking, so he just chucks them in a pan and grills them up, occasionally adding a bit more soy sauce. Somehow it turned out ok.

Sitting down at the table, they practically inhaled the food, stopping for little bits of conversation. All in all, it was… Way less awkward than Apollo expected, thank god.

Afterwards, Apollo washed and put away the dishes, as Klavier flunked himself onto the couch and started channel surfing, seeming more annoyed and bored with each flick of the remote, and downright uncomfortable when he saw the news channels were covering his accident.

Apollo sat down next to him, noticing the agitation Klavier was in, which was understandable, given he broke his fucking arm.

“Er… You like Ghibli movies?”

Klavier perked up at that. “I haven't watched any”

“Holy shit man, you got a cd player? I have some of the cds with me”

Klavier nodded. “Do you just happen to take ghibli movies wherever you go?” he said curiously

“Only on trips, and only the favorites.” he said walking to his room and pulling out the plain CD with ‘Howls moving castle’ scribbled on it in sharpie. (Yes, it was pirated. Everyone pirates movies at one point though so who gives a damn.)

When he got back he saw Klavier still waiting on the couch for him, and went to the CD player, where he popped the movie in.

Apollo plopped down on the couch next to Klavier, and while he definitely enjoyed the movie, he was paying more attention to the other man's reactions, hey it was Klaviers first time watching, and the enjoyment on his face was actually kinda… cute…

Apollo tore himself away from Klaviers face when that thought crossed his mind. He absolutely did not feel like opening that can of worms. But the entire time the little nagging feeling and desire to look was tugging at him.

Notes:

Did you have CDs that were pirated with the name of the movie on it hastily scribbled on or did you have money growing up.
