Chapter Text

Hobi
How has it taken you so fucking long?

Tae
It’s not that long.

Hobi
You are the last one to admit it.

Tae
Are you and Yoon going to come or not?

Hobi
Yes we will be there. What time?

Tae
7pm?

Hobi
See you then. I know this is a big deal for you, kiddo, but he already knows how much you love him so don’t put too much pressure on yourself.

Tae
I know. I want to do it properly. See you tomorrow.

The ex stripper returned his phone to his pocket on his way to meet Jungkook for lunch, just like he had every day for the last fortnight since his boyfriend returned to work.

Namjoon wanted him to take leave for longer but Jungkook insisted on returning to some kind of normality. He was given the all clear by the hospital and promised to follow all their advice providing it meant he could get back to the station. He had meetings with Occupational Health and everyone who was anyone in the police force. It wasn’t just the doctors at the hospital, he needed a psychiatric assessment before he was passed fit for work and all that was more draining than his actual job because Jimin fussed over him a bit and his duties were kept light.

In the four months since that special night that Jimin had orchestrated for Jungkook and Tae there had been so much progress that it was the right time for him to go back. The most important thing for Jungkook was that Tae was ready for him to return to work which he couldn’t have done three months ago when there was slight regression and he became extra clingy. The bail hearing was due and Tae withdrew from everyone and everything. Jin, Hobi and Yoongi were sending him texts and phoning Jungkook asking to speak to him but he refused, not wanting to speak to anyone. The fear that Blue and his men could be allowed out onto the streets sent him into an internal panic, his mind a chaotic scene and he shut down, which had become his coping mechanism.

The night before the hearing was the first time since that night in Magpies, that Vante made an appearance and Jungkook struggled to deal with it all. They were snuggled on the sofa watching tv and the court was shown on the news, the fact that Blue was behind bars was a huge deal and was being reported everywhere. It was the huge media interest that was a part of the reason that most lawyers didn’t want to touch the case, especially when they were shown all the evidence. Seeing the picture of Blue and the clubs on tv triggered something in Tae and he kissed Jungkook hard, he climbed into his lap and grinded down, quite feverish and somewhat forceful. The policeman stopped him, telling him that he didn’t want to use their sex life as a distraction and that they should talk about it. Tae flew into a rage, with a mocking tone and said “Am I not good enough for you now, Officer?”

Jungkook held him tight after that, cradled him while he cried and rocked him gently while he told him stories about the things that happened to him whilst working for Blue. There were many realizations that night for Tae, no one had ever turned him down before, albeit they were usually paying for the privilege and he was more grateful than ever for the person that Jungkook was. He sobbed to Jungkook that he was so messed up, he didn’t know why Jungkook bothered with him but he was thankful that he did and the policeman responded as he always did, telling him he loved him and all the positives he saw in him that Tae didn’t see in himself.

The gang members were denied bail because they were all deemed a flight risk and the state couldn’t take the chance when they were so close to putting them away for a long time. The members had already been in trouble in their respective prisons because all of them created trouble when they were refused the right to attend Cobalt’s funeral. The trials would drag on for many, many months and Jungkook was terrified of the impact on Tae so he took him to their meadow one day and while they lay in the sun, wrapped up in each other, he’d spoken to him about it.

The denial of bail was good news for Tae and after a long discussion with Jungkook, he admitted that he didn’t want updates when the trial started, he accepted that he would need to testify but aside from that, he didn’t want to know. He knew he would have to build himself up to face them in court and after that night he’d broken down in front of the tv, he felt able to do it. That night he’d opened up to Jungkook and told him things that no one else knew, he told him about the clients and the things he’d seen. It wasn’t just about the situations he’d found himself in over the years, it was about being made to feel that he was welcomed into a family but that family simply wanted to control him. He told Jungkook about how much Dente, Yoongi and Hobi meant to him and in return he listened when Jungkook told him what a shock it was for Namjoon when he saw Dente on stage that night. That breakdown turned into a positive because they spoke into the early hours, sharing stories from their past and Tae learned about how Hobi had passed Jungkook a note and it warmed Tae’s heart to know that Hobi did that, even if at the time he’d probably have been angry with him.

Jungkook needed to speak to Tae about the doormen because Jack and Tommy were asking after him and wanted to see him to check on him. As grateful as he was for the way they both acted that night, he didn’t want to see them and asked Jungkook to pass on a message to them instead because he so desperately wanted to forget, he felt that he was dealing with life and as the bad thoughts cropped up he coped in his own way with Jungkook by his side and he had picked up the phone to Jin, Yoongi or Hobi a few times which always followed a period of silence but it appeared that he needed that minor withdrawal stage in order to move forwards. The doormen had to face charges of their own but leniency was shown by the law because of how much they’d done to aid the police that night, both choosing to move away and start afresh.

That was a difficult month, one that should have been a happy one for the couple after Tae had chosen to move in with Jungkook and they were finally an official couple. Slowly Tae came out of himself again, started to leave the room without Jungkook, stay put when Jungkook left to go to the kitchen or bathroom, began to read and respond to messages from the people that cared about him. They had been here before so the policeman was his usual patient, loving self, keeping people away and giving Tae everything he needed until he was ready and eventually things improved again. The cycle was familiar but the length of time between clingy stages was becoming longer and Tae was really showing himself more and more.

They worked hard on communicating with each other and Tae was open about his fears so they could find a way to ease them. They started to work on him leaving the apartment without Jungkook because Tae really didn’t want to be a burden and was desperate for his boyfriend to be able to return to work. The biggest problem was that he always scanned the faces of everyone around him when outside, he was scared that someone would grab him and take him away because for years, it was others that were in control of him. It was strange for Tae that the biggest fear was being taken away from Jungkook, not what they would do to him or anything else… the everlasting memory of being ripped from the safety of Jungkook’s arms was the memory that haunted him above all others.

Jungkook got a personal alarm from work, ones they gave out to rape victims or anyone that needed one. The small device fit in his pocket and when he pressed the button, a shrill sound boomed from it, scaring everyone within earshot. He also insisted that he bought Tae a phone so they could keep in contact and that was also arranged. Tae had protested that Jungkook bought it for him but when Jungkook placed a small photo of them both together in the clear phone case he also bought him, he’d melted and given in.

Melting was a bit of a hazard for Tae because it happened regularly. His boyfriend was constantly doing everything he could to make him feel special, from cutting his breakfast pancakes into heart shapes to texting him ‘I love you’ while they were simply in different rooms of their home. He felt as if he was living a fairy tale and yet one thing still eluded them… Tae hadn’t told Jungkook he loved him.

This is what tomorrow was all about. Tae had googled ‘declarations of love’ and done his research, deciding that it didn’t need to be extravagant, it simply needed to be heartfelt. It would be the first time that he’d told someone that he loved them and it felt more like a marriage proposal than just telling someone you were in love with them.

After meeting Jungkook for lunch today, he was going to pick up the gift he’d ordered for him a couple of weeks ago. It wasn’t anything lavish or spectacular because the only money he had was that from his savings and he refused to accept money from Jungkook. The subject of money caused issues a couple of times but they’d both discussed it at length, Tae having to accept that Jungkook wasn’t trying to buy him and Jungkook having to find ways to support Tae without making him feel like shit. The final agreement that they were both relatively content with was that Jungkook took care of the bills until Tae was able to work and Tae would fund the groceries and treat his boyfriend to lunch, whether that meant bringing lunch with him or taking him to a cafe. Both men slightly stubborn and not getting their own way entirely but both having to agree that this was a suitable compromise for now.

Walking into the police station always made him feel insecure because everyone always stared at him and he found some of them quite intimidating. At first he wondered whether they knew he used to be a stripper, the fear and reality that he might have fucked one of them for money was all too real at times. He was ashamed when he thought about that, how one of his boyfriend’s colleagues could have had him in the most intimate circumstances and used him as they saw fit. He’d eventually had it dragged out of him by Jungkook who was concerned that he’d returned to work too soon and then he’d told him that he didn’t care what others thought or even that they might’ve paid for his services in the past. After that first day, Jungkook told Tae to let him know when he was nearby so he walked to meet him and held his hand as they walked through the station and up to his office, letting everyone know they were together. Jungkook genuinely didn’t care who had paid for Tae’s services in the past because as he explained to him, those moments were cold and robotic, they were a universe away from the intimacy that they experienced now. The policeman asked Tae to focus on how he felt when they were together, the feelings that inhabited his body when they kissed, it was those feelings that were important because they were special. Tae was so grateful for Jungkook and how he spoke with so much sense and sincerity, the way he explained things always helped and the more they spoke, the more time they spent together, the deeper his feelings became… his life as Vante was becoming more and more detached.

“Hey.” Jimin greeted Tae as he walked into the office. Jungkook got up straight away and kissed him hello.

Tae smiled and his stomach fluttered “Hi.” he said to Jungkook, kissing him back and a rouge tinge appearing on the apples of his cheeks.

“That’s it, ignore me because I’m not smiling at you like a lovesick teenager.” Jimin feigned offense.

“Shut up, Chim.” Jungkook replied.

“Hi Jimin.” Tae said, peering around Jungkook.

Jimin rolled his eyes “Are you going out for lunch or have you painstakingly made it with your bare hands and brought it to this loved up idiot?”

“Oh my God! Chim! Shut up!”

Tae giggled “I’ve bought you both lunch today.”

Jungkook poked his tongue out at his friend and looked smug. Jimin laughed “You are so mature JK. Thank you, Tae.”

Hearing his name used by the people around him had taken a lot of getting used to but he was coming to terms with that. It had been a month since he asked Jungkook to help him tell them, starting with Yoongi and Hobi because he felt they should hear it from him first. They had always been there for him, they’d never turned their backs and were always on the end of the phone for both him and Jungkook.

Jungkook and Tae had been meaning to visit them in their new home for a while and whilst there, they’d known something was off because Tae was so quiet. They’d been so pleased to see him after the complete silence the previous month but they were in touch constantly with Jungkook and were so pleased when Tae said they were going to come over. Hobi and Yoongi were sitting, waiting for Tae to speak, he was holding Jungkook’s hand and breathing deeply. As Jungkook rubbed his hand in support, Tae told his friends that his real name was Tae and how he no longer went by ‘Vante’. Yoongi and Hobi smiled, they were touched that Tae chose to tell them himself and they could see how tough that was for him. Person by person, Tae told everyone that mattered and each time his name was used, his confidence grew and he really began to settle into his new life.

Jimin was relieved when he’d been told so he didn’t slip up anymore than he had and now the three men sat down and ate the food that Tae brought with him, waving at Namjoon who passed through on his way home to Jin.

“There goes another loved up idiot.” Jimin added.

“Are you calling our Sergeant an idiot?”

“I told him he was a loved up idiot just the other day. I went into his office and he was ordering flowers to be sent to Jin.”

“Jin loved those flowers, Namjoon is so sweet.” Tae said in between mouthfuls.

“Joon got worse the moment Jin agreed to move in with him, just like you two and I take full credit for both sets of happiness.” Jimin grinned. He hadn’t allowed either couple to forget how he, as the love doctor had helped them.

“Are you still seeing that guy?” Tae asked, hoping to steer Jimin away from his self gratification.

“It is our fourth date tonight. I can tell you all about it tomorrow night. Are you still up to it?”

Tae looked at Jungkook, it was his idea to get everyone together as a thank you for everything they’d done for him. He had seen Yoongi and Hobi a few times and spoken to Jin on the phone but really wanted to see everyone at once. He didn’t feel comfortable about going to a bar or restaurant, he avoided the places that could remind him of the clubs or where he might see someone he knew, which is why he invited them to Jungkook’s apartment. It was the one place he felt safe, it had been his shelter throughout his time with Jungkook both before and after that night at Magpie’s so he couldn’t think of a better place to gather everyone together. He discussed everything with Jungkook and they had plans for some actual proper dates and Jungkook wanted to take him to a restaurant, telling him they would do it together, slowly, one step at a time.

“Yes, we are. It’s going well with your date then?” Tae asked.

“I think so. I’ve told him all about Li Weng and he knows about what happened. I think the fact that he’s a cop too, helps a lot because he gets it. I haven’t tried getting in his pants yet though, I might do that tonight.”

Jungkook felt his insides swoop as Tae giggled at his friend, the sound fired into his heart and warmed him immensely. Jimin was still one of the most annoying people he knew but the manner in which he had conducted himself through the whole situation was commendable. He’d supported Jungkook in everything, even in times he really wasn’t sure if it was for the best but as his friend, he’d stuck by him. He’d spoken to Jin a lot about his worries in speaking to Namjoon about moving in with him and his actions were questionable when he’d locked them both in their apartment until they’d spoken to each other about it. The love doctor had once again reigned supreme when Jin had no choice but to confess all to Namjoon and found out that Namjoon didn’t want him to leave anyway.

Jimin faced Teal and the other’s, staying at work way past his shifts and shielding Jungkook from as much as he could to allow him to concentrate on getting himself back to fitness and taking care of Tae. It had been while sifting through archives that he’d been spending a lot of time with a colleague who had plucked up the courage to ask Jimin out on a date and even though he was a little defensive, he was learning to trust again. He was enjoying getting to know his new man who was there for him and had listened to everything Jimin told him about Teal and the clubs. Jungkook was so pleased that his friend was seeing someone mainly because he could be the love doctor to himself from now on and leave him and Tae alone.

After more rolling of eyes at Jimin, Jungkook walked hand in hand with Tae, downstairs and to the exit, standing against the building and pulling him close.

“Thank you for lunch, you shouldn’t be spending your time doing things like that.”

“I like doing it, it stops me from thinking too much and that drama Jin suggested was rubbish.” Tae kissed the tip of Jungkook’s nose.

“Have I told you how beautiful you are today?”

“Yes, before I opened my eyes this morning.” Tae had many things to get used to and being called beautiful on such a regular basis was one of them. The way Jungkook said it always made him blush and it was something he loved hearing and dreaded all at the same time.

Jungkook stroked some hair from his face, it was so shiny and so soft. They were regulars at the hairdressers now and Tae was keen to keep the chocolate cherry colour even though the hairdresser tried to convince him to change it once. Jungkook pulled the girl to one side when Tae went quiet, he’d seen the signs before and he explained that hair colour was a difficult subject for him and they were really very happy with his choice. She didn’t mean anything by it but Tae reacted differently when he felt that someone was telling him what to do, the stubbornness and attitude disappeared with Vante and he became compliant and withdrawn. That was the only glitch and another situation they’d worked through together.

“I’m never going to stop telling you how beautiful you are and one day you might believe me.”

“I do believe that you think I’m beautiful.” he said quietly, while Jungkook lightly trailed the tip of his nose along his cheek.

“That isn’t what I meant and you know it.”

“I know.”

Parting was always difficult even when he knew that Jungkook would be home later that evening. He knew that he would probably be curled up on the sofa wrapped in a blanket, watching a programme on tv, Jungkook would lock the door, remove his shoes then head straight over to kiss him. He would bring dinner home and after eating it, he would loosen his tie and lay down so Tae could lay on him and discuss the mundane things from their day. Tae worried often that this routine and the life they had together was too plain and boring for Jungkook, he’d discussed it with him because even though he was selfish, he wanted him to be happy and couldn’t live with the thought that he was holding him back from a different life.

Jungkook always became emotional when he heard Tae speak about ‘boring’ and ‘plain’ and it hurt when he suggested that this life wasn’t perfect. He told him, reassured him, again and again that any life was perfect providing he had Tae in it and he even cringed when he’d admitted how his stomach flipped as he arrived home after work, knowing that Tae would be there. When he was laid out on his sofa, the most beautiful man in the world laying on top of him, kissing his head and holding him tight, talking about something and nothing, that was his definition of perfect and he would remind Tae of that every minute of every day if he had to.

****

Namjoon insisted that Jungkook have a long weekend and get some rest, which basically meant that he knew of Tae’s plan so gave him the time off, using the meal as an excuse. Tae decided to speak to Namjoon because he told Jin that involving the 'love Doctor' wasn't necessary but Jin said he thought Jimin was great.

Tae was looking forward to cooking with Jungkook, they’d cooked together often but this was a meal for their friends and he never thought he would be doing anything so domesticated in his life. He loved being at home with his boyfriend, at first he thought it would drive him crazy because his life was quite hectic previously but the contrast now was welcomed at times.

Today was ‘the’ day, he would finally tell Jungkook that he loved him and like everything that came so naturally to others, he was finding it such a difficult task. He couldn’t understand how the words simply rolled off Jungkook’s tongue, he said it with so much depth but it was said so easily and he really wanted to be like that.

There were so many elaborate ideas for declaring his love and he’d scrapped them all in favour of something he felt was natural and basic. He wanted to do it at the right time, when Jungkook wouldn’t be expecting it and he decided that it was what he said that would be remembered, not where it was said.

“Does it feel strange, not going to work now?” Tae was sitting on the worktop peeling potatoes while Jungkook rooted around in the cupboards for some stock.

“A little, but I prefer being with you.”

“Is there anything you would like to do today?”

“Once all the food is prepped we could watch a movie? Or how about playing that new game I bought?”

Tae’s chest felt so tight as he looked at Jungkook, he had practiced saying the three words so much but he could never push them past his lips. The problem now, was that he’d made such a big deal of it in his head that he felt nauseous and his heartbeat sped up just thinking about saying it.

Hobi advised him to just ‘blurt it out’ and get it over with and Yoongi told him to say it during sex because that’s what everyone did. Jin’s suggestion to consult the love doctor was the worst advice of all so he was pretty much left to his own devices, which is why with starchy wet hands, he’d decided that this was the moment.

“Kookie?” he qas sure his voice cracked or wavered and definitely sounded like his insides felt.

“Yes angel.” Jungkook used it more often these days after Tae assured him it was fine. Jungkook was worried it was too much and was pleased when Tae told him to stop going out of his way not to say it, he said if it was natural and he wanted to say it then Tae loved hearing it.

Tae held his breath. The word aside from 'beautiful' that affected him greatly was ‘angel’ and it completely steered him away from his train of thought. The silence forced Jungkook to stop what he was doing and walk over to where Tae was sitting, standing between his legs, waiting for him to speak.

This was much harder than anticipated and now Jungkook was standing close and looking at him with his gorgeously soft brown eyes, looking at him like he was at the centre of his universe, the way he always did and Tae faltered.

“Are you okay?” he asked, stroking his face with the back of his hand.

“Well… I am… but I’m not… but it isn’t bad… I just… I want to tell you something and it’s difficult.” he cursed himself for making a pig's ear of it before he’d said anything at all.

Frown Lines appeared on Jungkook’s forehead as he tried to work out what was going on “Take as long as you need.”

Tae fiddled around in his pocket and pulled out a tiny drawstring pouch, he held it in his hand as he started to speak, hoping he didn’t make a mess of it because he had practiced but it was easier when Jungkook wasn’t looking at him the way he was. Saying everything he wanted to while looking at his reflection in the mirror was so much easier than looking into the face of the man that hadn't ever given up on him.

“I wanted to buy you something and I’ve been looking for ages but could never find anything. Usually, after meeting you for lunch I walk through town and then I saw this. It isn’t much but the man in the shop engraved it for me…” he removed a small silver coin from the bag and held it in his hand “...it is a lucky coin. I wanted you to have something that was small enough to keep with you and that perhaps when you look at it you think of me.”

Jungkook took the coin and words became lodged in his throat when he saw the dainty J and T engraved into a small heart. He was very aware that Tae looked a bit nervous and he’d obviously put a lot of thought into this gift but where he usually knew what to say, where usually he could speak so openly and freely… he qas suddenly speechless.

“I really don’t have the words, I love it and I promise I will keep it with me, always. It means so much, thank you I…” a hand covered his mouth, he was stopped from finishing his sentence because Tae knew how that sentence ended and he didn’t want the first time he told him that he loved him to be in response to him saying it first.

Tae took a deep breath… giving him the gift was the easy part.

“You know that every day I repeat the same words in my head, I tell you all the time but you never hear me, I think it, I feel it and I try to show you, always. I've whispered it to you while you sleep and repeated the words along to the beat of your heart at night… I planned to make this some grand gesture but decided that you just need to hear it… and I’m rambling because I’ve made it into such a big deal…”

If Vante were here, he would have handled this very differently and probably just provoked Jungkook by saying some smart arsed comments and then casually dropped the three words like they were nothing. He would probably then have watched Jungkook turn to mush and then they’d kiss and Vante would pale into the background or he'd have said "Love you, Officer Jeon" and shrugged it off because that was so much easier.

Tae was realising more and more how much he had used the Vante persona to protect himself and how Vante was more or less his shield over the years. When he was Vante, he didn’t have to feel or be led by emotions, he was nonchalant and brave but the purpose for which he was created was no longer necessary and he would need to learn to tap into his emotions and accept his vulnerability.

“Tae, take your time.” his voice was so gentle which was the word Tae used to describe him, over and over again. He was always gentle, his voice, the way he touched and held him, the way his fingers caressed his skin… even the way he looked at Tae was gentle.

“I love you… I’m in love with you so badly that I worry about it not being real... “ he looked downwards and rubbed at the dried white starchy marks on his hands “... I love you so much.”

Jungkook held his breath, it was as if someone with giant cymbals was standing either side of him and had smashed them together, his ears ringing and body feeling like it didn’t belong to him. He’d had this dream so often, he could feel it and sense it every time they were together, he knew Tae loved him, he craved to hear it at one point but that craving dispersed because Tae showed him in so many ways.

Jungkook placed his fingers under Tae’s chin and lifted his gaze, ensuring that he had direct eye contact, he knew his eyes were glassy, he could feel the tears building.

“I love you too.... I understand why that was such a big deal and I will remember this forever. Everytime I look at my lucky coin I will be reminded of this moment.”

Tae would never be able to express the true depth of feelings that he had for Jungkook, how grateful he was for everything he’d done but mostly, for the person he was, the person he always has been and the person that he is.

“I love you.” he said again, leaning forwards and pressing his lips to Jungkook’s, exhaling harshly and wrapping his legs around his lower body.

One of Tae’s concerns at the start, after that night at Magpie’s was how boring sex would be but he was learning that sex with Jungkook would be anything but boring. There was an incredible amount of sensuality between them, an intensity that he’d ignored the existence of from early on, every touch felt electric and addictive. He completely underestimated the power of sex with someone you were so in love with and whereas he thought his work for the clubs would have put him off sex for life, his love for Jungkook gifted him a sex drive he didn’t know he had.

The policeman’s tongue sought out the comfort of his boyfriend’s mouth, his saliva acting like popping candy on his taste buds as his brain cells sparked with desire. Jungkook undid each button of Tae’s shirt, one by one, groaning with each patch of skin revealed. The legs around him tightened, his hands went to his backside and he squeezed, causing Tae to exhale noisily, he lifted him from the worktop and carried him to their bedroom.

They’d made love in every room, Tae’s favourite place being the sofa because he saw that as the place where their relationship grew over the time they’d known each other. It was difficult for him when the one place he felt the safest was on the sofa, laying on Jungkook, encased in his arms, listening to his heartbeat. They’d probably spent more time like that than in any other position, often falling asleep together and Jungkook seemed to like laying on the sofa with him just as much.

Jungkook lay him down on their bed, discarding the rest of their clothing and laying at his side, he coated his fingers and carefully inserted one into Tae’s awaiting hole, swallowing the gasp that was fed to him. Long gone were the days of Tae prepping himself, he rarely touched himself these days, gaining more pleasure from his boyfriend’s skilled fingers and mouth, still learning about his body but also learning that he loved everything if it was with Jungkook.

Tae had a firm grip on his man as he stretched him open with every bit of the care and attention that he applied to everything he did where Tae was concerned. Jungkook loved watching Tae’s facial expressions with each brush of his prostate, when his fingers curled just right, he always paid attention to him because he had witnessed too many expressions that he never wanted to see again on the face of the most beautiful man he knew.

Jungkook only removed his fingers when he thought he was ready, he usually secretly smirked because Tae became impatient before then and he could kiss away the pout as he complained. There wasn't any protest this time though, Tae was swimming in a thick haze where all his senses were heightened because he had finally declared his love for Jungkook.

His breath quickened when Jungkook took hold of his leg and positioned his body so it molded to his. His jaw was slack and he reached out for something to grip when Jungkook entered him slowly from the side, he couldn't ever tire of this feeling.

Tae's chest was peppered in kisses while Jungkook's pelvis pressed against his backside and he paused, before cautiously circling his hips. They'd tried several positions because they both had a strong desire for closeness and intimacy. He learned that he loved being held tightly while they came, usually changing positions so he could be kissed and held.

It always amazed him how Jungkook seemed to read his mind and know what he wanted, so when he breathed "Kookie" and reached out his hands, Jungkook pulled out, moving on top and caging him in beneath him, taking hold of his hands palm to palm, grinding down onto him and looking him in the eyes.

"Fuck! You're so beautiful" he would repeat again and again, partly because he couldn't believe how lucky he was and partly because he wanted Tae to know.

Tae always shied away from such a compliment choosing to respond with "I love you" because it was suddenly so easy to say now.

"I love you too. I'm gonna cum soon, angel." his words strained because he was on the verge of coming.

"Please don't stop, I'm close" Tae said, feeling that pressure building within.

Their orgasms hit simultaneously, one causing a chain reaction so the other followed soon after, sloppily kissing whilst they rode their highs, panting into each others mouths.

"Can we cancel everyone and stay in bed?" Jungkook asked as he nuzzled his face into the junction of Tae's neck and shoulder.

The sound of a giggle made his heart soar and he was sure it was one of his favourite sounds.

"We need to finish cooking or we'll have to order dinner." Tae would've loved to agree to cancelling but he wanted to see everyone and hear about Jimin’s date.

"Can we stay here a bit longer?"

"I don’t want to move, either, we have plenty of time."

As Tae heard the comforting and familiar thrum of Jungkook's heartbeat, he felt the warmth spread throughout his body, it made his toes tingle and tears build in his eyes. Through many conversations with his boyfriend about the guilt he felt, they agreed to be grateful for Blue's vendetta against Jungkook because by giving Vante his mission, it brought them together. They decided to find as many positives as they could in order to help Tae heal, he couldn't change what happened but he could change the way he felt about it and together that is exactly what they would do. Tae was learning that fairy tales do exist, that he is worthy of love and he'd found someone who loved him more than he thought was possible.

One night Jungkook was sitting alone in a bar waiting for the blind date that never showed, he had given up hope of finding someone, partly reserving himself to being alone or dating a string of men that Jimin set him up with. In his intoxicated state while on his way home he walked past the bright neon lights of Bluebirds, seeing a big queue he decided to go in, wondering what all the fuss was about, never having bothered with a strip club before but feeling a curiosity deep in his stomach. He ordered a drink, probably should have opted for a non-alcoholic drink but choosing to continue the evening as he started it... drinking alone... that's when the lights went out in the club... 12 seconds passed... he didn't know it at the time but those 12 seconds would lead to massive changes in his life and a journey that would shape his future.

When Jungkook first saw the man with blue hair on stage, never in a million years would he have thought that, that man would one day be his boyfriend and the absolute love of his life. He was grateful that his date didn't show up that night, wondering if he'd ever have gone to Bluebirds otherwise or whether things would have worked out with the date. Something drew him to the club that night, something urged him to find out who Vante was and in the abyss of his mind, where no one would know... he believed it was fate.

Even though the healing process would be ongoing, he was certain that Tae would never suffer or deal with anything alone, ever again and he could guarantee that he would never have his freedom taken away. Tae's days as Vante were over, he would never have to suffer pain or oppression ever again, he would be made to feel like he was at the centre of Jungkook's universe and he would be treasured and loved as he deserved.

So... that's it! *cries*
The epilogue actually gave me so much trouble. The focus is of course on the people that matter. You are free to presume what you wish about Blue and his men but I like to think they rotted in prison.

The next story will be uploaded soon, back to once a week updates with that one. It is called 'If Looks Could Kill' and is a vampire/soulmate au but I use those terms very loosely! It isn't your typical Vampire/Soulmate fic, it's not like 'Fangs and Hands'. I wrote it after having this erotic scene as an image in my head and hey presto! 'If Looks Could Kill' was born.

Thank you all for your encouragement and positivity with Blue. I'm actually a bit of a basket case when it comes to my writing and I'm not very confident with it, Blue especially made me nervous to upload... so thank you.
