I attempt to catalogue here only the most exalted encounters of my time "grubbing in the archive." I am a lit nerd and these are the fics I have read with excellent, original concepts as well as good writing. Please mind the tags, since my preferences tend toward grimdark. The only things that upset me are lies and serious conflict between romantic interests, so many of these fics feature moral ambiguity and violence outside of the main relationship, but absolute fluffiness within the relationship itself.
