Slowly, Bakugo realized what a true hero was. Kiri was a true hero. He had saved him from his darkness and showed him so much kindness and love, more than anyone else in his life. He wanted to be like Kiri.
It was nice, knowing the truth, that he was the one with the twisted perception. And getting help from someone to figure out everything. He wasn’t perfect, he still cut sometimes, he still had a temper, and he still hurt people, but Kiri understood. Kiri accreted him for him. He would comfort him in his times of need and Katsuki would do the same for Kirishima in a heartbeat.
Bakugo and Kirishima hung out a lot more after the incident. At the end of that year, Bakugo knew. This was what heroes, what real heroes, were. Suddenly, being a hero, especially with Kiri, didn’t seem all that bad.
