Edward is a foolish boy. He’s been running from this—the blood and the loom of fate—but what point is there? Trying to pretend it’s not real? Ignoring won’t stop the end from coming. Ed knows this. He knows. Knows like he knows his mother, all those years ago, kneeling on the same tiles he is now, just as sick, and just as secretive, and just as afraid.
Edward has been running.
But this—this isn’t something that he can run from.
The fear is visceral, numbing. More a haunt than anything else. He’s dying. It’s so very simple. So very terrifying.
Or, follows brotherhood canon except Trisha's disease was inherited genetically and Ed is dying. This changes nothing and yet everything.
