Chapter Text
I have posted a new story, "Out of Time," featuring Elrond, Thranduil, and Glorfindel (summary further below). The new story is available here:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/47745091/chapters/120355144
At this point, instead of posting new stories into this 'anthology' story, I am posting new stories that I write about the elves of Imladris individually, compiled not just into the whole Desperate Hours AU, but also into this more specific "Tales of the Elves of Imladris, separately posted," available here:
https://archiveofourown.org/series/3081555
So, if you would like to be notified when I post a new story (or new chapter) about Elrond, or any of the other elves of Imladris, you should subscribe to the separately posted series.
Here is the story summary for "Out of Time"
Elrond has just awoken to find himself a prisoner in an Enemy camp. He has a concussion, and he is surrounded by three very young (and scared) elves. None of whom he recognizes, and all of whom are looking to him for leadership in making an escape attempt. In the planning of which, it doesn’t take Elrond long to figure out that he lost something, when he was hit on the head. Specifically, about an Age’s worth of memories.
“It will be easier to escape from this camp now,” said Elrond, “before they take us all the way back to Angband.”
The three young elves exchanged confused and worried glances, before Thranduil looked back to Elrond and said uncertainly, "Angband?"
“Yes. That must be our ultimate destination. Sooner rather than later, unfortunately, if our captors realize who I am,” Elrond mused grimly.
"Um,” said Veassen, looking scared again, “But, Angband was destroyed at the end of the War of Wrath."
Elrond was so taken aback by that information that at first all he could do was repeat, "the . . . the 'War of Wrath.'"
It was Thranduil, who, with a light of horrible comprehension dawning in his eyes, then asked, "Elrond, when do you think it is? I mean, what year?"
“I'd rather lost track of the days, even before that blow to the head,” Elrond admitted carefully, “So I'm not sure whether it's still Year 572 of the First Age of the Sun, or if it is already Year 573.”
“Um. No, it’s not,” Thranduil corrected, with a wince.
“It's year 2520 of the Second Age,” Veassen offered, his urge to be helpful triumphing over against his incipient panic.
“Oh. I see,” said Elrond faintly, “That's . . . alarming.”
“That's an understatement,” remarked young Thranduil wryly.
‘Oh well,’ thought Elrond to himself, as he found his resolve again. The situation, in its essence, was unchanged. The Age didn’t matter. Not really. They are prisoners, and they must escape. Elrond has been trained by the best of the warriors who survived all the Battles of Beleriand. He can manage a simple escape!
Author’s Note: Please note that this story takes place in the version of this Desperate Hours AU wherein some of the stories, including this one in later chapters, have corporal punishment elements. If you would like the version of this story (and the version of this series) with no corporal punishment elements, that story is available here:

Oh, awhile ago, I posted an early Third Age Elrond and Glorfindel story, "A Healer, First." Here is the story summary:
Elrond Peredhel is a hero of three great wars and the leader of Imladris. Sometimes people forget that, of all his titles, the first one Elrond earned was ‘healer.’
Now there is an outbreak of plague in the human villages along the River Celebrant. Elves cannot catch the plague; but part-elves can. Still, Elrond is a healer first.
Sometimes, people forget that, even the people who know Elrond best.
Ereinion Gil-Galad, who had nursed his peredhel cousin and heir through two different plagues, would not have forgotten. But he died in the final battle of the War of the Last Alliance.
Glorfindel is doing his best to be a good friend, Captain of the Guard, and bodyguard to the grieving Elrond, but he's definitely taken by surprise, this time.
